I can use DND for several years. I'm a remodeling contractor in DC. Was always impressed with Alex with a good service and great communication. Unfortunately, I had Alex replaced a motor and they The lift mechanism too far the door jump track. After completing the install, I was very impressed and happy with the service and tipped Alex 100 bucks three days later on a Sunday the door came off track. I called Alex. He said one of his and his technician indicated that they adjusted the mechanism which raises the door too far, which caused it to jump track. I was invoiced a bill from DND of $275 to realign the door and place it back on track. I refuse to pay due to the technician indicating that the door was not aligned and adjusted properly I no longer use Alex or DND regretfully. A read more

Have been working with Alex and DND Garage doors for several years and always impressed with the quality of workmanship, creative solutions, technical expertise, professionalism and speed of repair/delivery/installation. Highly recommend this business! read more

Alex from DND garage doors was really exceptional. He was responsive to my inquiries and guided me through ordering a new door. His price was very competitive. I got all new hardware (door, tracks, bearings, and opener) and everything works great. The new door operates very smoothly and is tremendously more quiet than our old door and opener. I highly recommend the Liftmaster jack shaft opener if your setup allows. (You will need an electrical outlet close to the left or right side of the jack shaft, but if you're not handy an electrician can help you with this). It's more compact and out of the way than traditional overhead units. As someone who is fairly handy and likes things "done right", it's always nice to see professionals like Alex and his associate Barry work together to ensure everything is the way it should be. Double kudos for coming out to install the door when it was 15 degrees F outside! I would have understood if they wanted to postpone, but I'm glad they were able to work through the cold. read more

Its my second time using them .Very responsive and fast service with excellent work. Price is reasonable. Highly recommended.

A few of my neighbors recommended DND Garage doors and I am happy to say they're amazing. Great customer service, quick response, they don't charge you an arm and a leg. Plus they even fixed my garage senor for free. Great company 10 stars if I could. read more

Very responsive, talked us through our options and pricing, fit us in quickly, worked very efficiently, and was pleasant throughout. Really nice to work with and left me wondering why we'd waited so long to get the garage door fixed! Alex made it all so easy and I would definitely call him again. read more

AWESOME service! Alex came out (Accokeek, MD) to give a quote the same day we called and set up an installation time/date for the same week. The online estimate was emailed the day of the in-person . The estimate and was precisely detailed and easy to understand. The installers (Barry and Tim) arrived right on time (actually they were on-site 10 minutes early and called to let us know and get approval to come sooner) and were very pleasant and professional. The price was very reasonable and Alex covered multiple scenarios for various options such as: windows or no windows, insulation or not, spring reuse or not (my current springs were 3 months old and Alex discussed the pros and cons of reuse. I chose not to reuse the springs based on warranty reasons), door material types. All three of the company personnel wore masks and on the install day the temperature was 90 degrees but they were very considerate of COVID-19 safety precautions. I'm so tired of companies that don't deliver and I'm very happy to say that DND Garage Doors isn't one of those types. I very highly recommend this excellent company and I expect you will receive great service too. read more

I called DND to replace the springs on my garage door at my old townhouse several years ago and just had to do the same again for my current house. The service I received from Alex was just as excellent as the first time. He was able to schedule me in first thing in the morning the very next day after I called. Alex arrived on time with a courtesy call 15 mins. away and was very thorough in not only replacing the springs, but also addressing a couple other problems he found with my doors. He made sure everything was in perfect working order before he left and explained in detail the work that was done. Call DND for all your garage door needs! read more

Alex is awesome, very happy with his service. He is honest, super fast, and does great work. He is reliable and I can always reach him. He setup the garage door for us in DC a few years back. read more

I contacted DND and they replied pretty quickly. Fast, excellent work, fabulous customer service. They were worth it. He even explained the issue and answered every question I had. I am so pleased and will be calling them for all my garage door needs. Very professional and used covid precautions. read more

I want to go out of my way to praise and sincerely recommend the work of DND Garage Doors and Alex, whose services I've utilized on 4 separate occasions over the past few years. The work has been carried out quickly and efficiently, with good communication. Alex is polite, tidy, and has integrity, and he did not hesitate to return promptly when I had a follow-up issue. When I have other household emergencies, I sometimes stress out that disingenuous repair people will take advantage of our desperation. With this company, I don't stress out ... even though I hope I won't need to use their service! read more

These guys accepted our deposit knowing their business ID had expired and couldn't legally do the work. They tried to convince us that we could do it without a permit, and that they do work all the time without a permit, which is illegal and carries a massive fine for the homeowner. They claimed there was a backup at DCRA to get their ID renewed, which I found was not true after calling the office myself. We were strung along for three months while they claimed they were trying to renew, which was ultimately a lie. read more

This is a great company! It is important to me to hire local, small businesses, and this is a fine example. Alex's company is DND garage doors, but maybe it should be DNA garage Doors instead. He is responsive, kind and patient while I pestered him with questions about how it works, his opinions about quality, durability and more. Hire DND Garage doors and tell your friends. read more

I found these folks on Yelp years ago when our first garage door opener bit the dust. They came out right away and replaced the unit. Our second door opener died yesterday (it was 27 years old, so it didn't owe us anything). Scheduled an appointment for today with Alex, he arrived on time, and they finished within an hour and a half - new opener, checked out the other unit, installed new rollers on both doors, and lubricated everything. And installed a new battery in the remote for good measure. Would give them more stars if the system allowed. read more

My experience with Alex at DND mirrors a lot of the great reviews here. I needed the torsion springs on my garage replaced. Initially, I was prepared to do the work myself after looking at Youtube videos. In the end, I felt it was too risky to replace the springs myself so I pulled together a list of top garage service companies in the DMV and gave them each a call. **Make sure to always shop around.. the estimated work had a $80 swing between companies. DND had the lowest estimate and could even meet me after work. Alex gave me a call to let me know he would be running late.. I felt bad because I didn't realize he would be coming from VA and would be fighting the dreadful 495 rush hour traffic.. but he did. He showed up, cheerful and courteous as can be, looked at my garage and promptly replaced my springs in 30 minutes. At the end, he also looked over the whole system to make sure it was all good. During the service, he answered all of my questions and really seemed happy to be doing the work.. which is rare nowadays. The springs come with a 3 year warranty.. but Alex said I could call him any time if I had any issues. I'm so glad I went with DND. read more

Met with Alex over the weekend to fix my garage door, which needed a new opener. He came prepared with the garage door opener and installed it in under an hour. Alex stayed true to his originally quote which he had quoted me a month before. DND Garage Door is truly a professional organization - timely, efficient and performs quality work. Overall, this is a team of true garage door experts and not a bunch of handyman trying to complete a work shop project. Thanks DND!!! read more

I called a couple places for prices and was about to go to another when Alex came by to check the garage out. He gave me a better price than originally quoted and came right away the next morning to get my garage door installed. Service was quick and as I needed my door painted, he said he would get it primed on the weekend and did just that. Reliable, quickest response time, quick communication, quick turnaround and what seemed to me a fairer price than the rest, I recommend this company. Thanks Alex and crew. read more

I used Alex to change the motor for one garage door and completely motorize the other. He did a great job. He is honest and focused. Price-wise, he compares favorably with the Home Depot and other garage companies who wanted to charge much more. I would have given him a 5 star rating if he could do electrical work. He didn't fully disclose that he couldn't do electrical work, so now i have to get an electrician to complete the job. Otherwise, he is great, I highly recommend him. read more

Our garage door was damaged and I called DND. I spoke with Alex on the phone and he said that he will come by the next morning for a free appraisal of the damage and cost of repair. In the morning, he called ahead of time and asked if he could come by earlier than the appointed time, which was perfect for me. When Alex arrived, he looked at it and gave me a quote on the spot which was reasonable and said he was able to do it by next week. But the best thing was that he actually told me that he didn't see any structural damage and it wasn't serious enough to make the repair a must, especially since it's only noticeable from the inside. Alex left without getting the business but he gained a believer in me. If I ever have to install or repair my garage door, I will definitely go to DND. And I will readily recommend them to any of my friends who need garage door services read more

The owner is fantastic, responsesive and reliable. We used him twice and both times he came out the same day. Price was also reasonable and cheaper than other quotes. Would hire again for sure. read more

Let me be yet another individual to tout the great service Alex of DND Garage Doors offers. We had a situation where the stupid door wouldn't close, it kept just going down and then up. When I called him for assistance, he actually asked me about exactly what was happening and prescribed some solutions to fix it so that he wouldn't have to charge me! I asked him to come quickly and he was able to make time for us on really short notice. When he showed up, of course the garage door worked fine, but he did note that there were other problems that would eventually have to be fixed. He took care of it. For the initial intake, he returned our call really quickly. Good service. Alex may not be the cheapest, but some things are worth paying for quality on. read more

These guys are great. I had a broken Spring on my garage door (which I probably made worse by trying to fix it on my own) and they came out the next morning and made everything great again at a reasonable price. The tech was great. Polite, friendly and fixed the problem fast. He even called ahead before he came over. Great experience. Glad I found these guys using Yelp. Would use again. read more

Very positive experience with DND. Called them in the evening, and they were there the next day to fix my sagging garage door. The price was extremely reasonable, and the work looks like it will hold up far beyond the parts and labor warranty they extended. I don't anticipate having any further need for garage door work, but if I ever do, I know who to call. I have to put more characters for this review to be posted, even though I really don't have too much else to say. Once again, very happy with DND... read more

When it comes to garage doors you really don't think about them at all until they break. Then you realize that there are a ton of garage door businesses out there that do that type of work. I called around and felt like I was getting ripped off over the phone! But when I called DND I didn't feel that way. I spoke with Alex and gave him the details of my garage and he gave me a quote over the phone. I couldn't get that from anyone else, it was like it could be this or it could be that. I think its a way for them to come out and charge you 75 bucks just to look at and then charge you a crazy amount of money to fix it. If you need garage repairs you should use DND...prompt, courteous and honest service. Thanks DND read more

I called just days after Christmas to repair my garage door and I was certain I'd be scheduling a visit for at least a week out, but the nice guy on the phone with the Northeastern accent said someone could be by the next day. Sweet. Alex called me (as I was told he would) about 30 minutes prior to showing up to my house. He diagnosed the issue with my door in less than 5 minutes and had it replaced and back in business within 20-25 minutes after that. Quick, straightforward service. And reasonable pricing to boot. read more

Can a garage door opener be luxurious? If so, these belt-driven openers are quiet LUXURY. My whole house no longer rattles while my garage doors are operating. And the service was outstanding. The foreman even programmed my car for me. I could have had the one broken opener fixed, but they were 18-years-old and due for replacement. They were so appreciative of the fact that I thought to clear the garage out, so they could have clear access to the openers. read more

One of the pulleys on our garage door snapped off and broke right before I was supposed to leave town on a business trip. I called DND and they came out promptly and fixed the door on the spot! Pricing was extremely competitive, and the repair man was very polite and professional. He also did not try to upsell me on anything - I actually had to ask if there was anything else I might need! I ended up having him replace the springs and door rollers as well, and the door now runs smoother and quieter than it ever did in the past. HIGHLY recommended!!! read more

I highly recommend DND Garage Doors. Alex was personable, on time, and very qualified. He fixed all our garage door issues promptly and explained to me how to do some preventive maintenance myself. He was a pleasure to work with. I would absolutely hire him again. Highly recommend! read more

Alex (owner) came out Sunday AM to address a late-Saturday call for a repair of a garage door opener that had come off ceiling mount. Arrived on time Sunday and was able to quickly fix console. Fix was great improvement over original mounting mechanism. Alex was very friendly and professional. COVID protocols were followed (masked, etc.) Price was very reasonable and based on weekday not Sunday rates, I assume because of the Saturday call (very fair). Would definitely use again. Highly recommended. read more

I had DND install a new door in September 2013. Went with them for the price and good reviews. The guys did a great job. Fast forward to the beginning March 2015. One of the wheels came off the track. I gave them a call and Alex made an appointment for repair. He arrived promptly, repaired and tuned up the door and was on his way. This company operates above board and offers excellent customer service. 100% recommended! read more

It's kind of hard to believe that a business on yelp can get almost straight 5 star reviews, but DND Garage Doors deserves it. One of the springs on my garage door had snapped, and after looking at DIY sites that started their instructions with "Replacing this yourself is a good way to lose a finger or kill yourself", I decided to hire a pro. I called Alex, and he and his helper arrived within 2 hours, and had both springs replaced within an hour. His price was very fair, and he is very frugal - only replaced the minimum parts needed and did not try to up sell any additional services. It's honestly very hard to find services that are so straight forward and no-nonsense. DND is really a model for how a repair company should be run. read more

Alex was professional, curteous and on time. He fixed our garage door very quickly. Highly recommend him!

It is refreshing to post a positive comment for a local business! We found and decided to go with DND purely based on Yelp reviews. We called around 10am and Alex showed up around 5pm the same day (after braving the I-95 traffic southbound). He immediately diagnosed the problem and did the job (all the while answering any questions we had for the current project, and future ideas). He completed the installation, then lubed the entire system and gave some tips for maintenance. I highly recommend his company for any garage work you desire! We will no doubt be calling him back for an upgrade! Thanks Alex! read more

When our garage door spring broke a few weeks ago, we called DND Garage Doors to fix it and are very glad we did! Not only was the spring in need of replacement, but for just a bit more cost, Alex replaced it and the rusty side rails and the rotted door itself, and connected it up to the electric door opener. The work was done in a timely manner, for a very reasonable price. We couldn't be happier and highly recommend Alex and DND Garage Doors!! read more

I chose DND because of all of the great reviews and the service lived up to all of those positive reviews. I called in the late afternoon and got right through to Alex the owner. He agreed to come the next day (and would have come that evening if I had needed him to). He was on time, courteous and had the problem fixed in 30 minutes for the price he had quoted. I could not be happier! This company is everything consumers want, timely, friendly and fair. I will recommend him to all of my friends. Update: I noticed that when I posted my review that it says I live in Sandy Hook, Ct. But I live in Northern Virginia and this business is in Norther Virginia as well. Who knows why it lists me as Ct. read more
