Kevin came out and re-built my fence a couple years ago during a bad stormy winter. I needed the whole thing done. Kevin did a terrific job at a very reasonable price. I called him just the other day to give me an estimate on replacing my gate, and he fixed it with a couple nails and a spare board and charged me next to nothing. While he was there, he replaced a couple boards on another fence adjoining another neighbor. He's a great guy, kind of a character, very honest and reliable, and a good human being. Kevin has helped me twice now to repair damaged fencing. On one job he replaced my entire 40' back fence and he worked just with me because I couldn't really get my neighbors to put in on it. He got the job done quickly and at a very reasonable price. On the other job I had a 25' section of a side fence and he worked with me and my neighbor to get the job done. He's fast, cleans up his work completely, and does the job exactly as specified. He's friendly, professional, and fun to chat with. His bids were all honest, affordable, and the jobs were finished as expected by his bids. The only down side is that whenever someone does honest, affordable work they get too busy. He's usually booked out a few weeks, but he's always returned my messages promptly. I can only hope that someday he can find someone else that works as honestly as he does so he can expand his business. In the mean time, though, you'll have a hard time finding someone better to work on your fences. He's worth the wait. read more

Like everyone here I began my project by studying the comments posted by my fellow Yelpers. Recently purchased a rental house and wanted to really improve the curb appeal. Like I stated on the last rating. I had Kevin from prime time fence return to my rental and do another section. Just like the first job he came out first thing in the morning and started the project. Prime Time Fence seems like a one man operation. Kevin was recommended by my neighbor. I'm in a cul-de-sac so I have roughly 300 feet of fences. About a month ago Kevin replaced and repaired about 150' of fences I shared with three of my neighbors. He did one section and then the other sections with my other neighbors a month later. The work was excellent, the price was reasonable, he didn't skimp on materials, he arrived early each time, he worked fast and efficient, he cleaned up everything well, and was very easy to talk to. Kevin is awesome! He just finished a 60' fence in our backyard. From the get go he was stellar. He returned my inquiry call right away and came out the next day for an estimate. The fence was shared with our neighbor and Kevin was patient and mindful throughout the entire job to make sure that all parties were on the same page. He's a one man show that does it all. He was always on time and professional, while also being friendly and funny. Our fence was completed in 2 days just like he said in his original estimate. Awesome service and experience. I called Kevin on Thursday afternoon (1/5/17) after the severe rain and windstorm on Tuesday night (1/3) knocked down three sections of our fence. Kevin came out to give an estimate on Friday morning and said he could go get the parts and repair the fence by that afternoon. This was especially important because the weather forecast was for another storm to begin on Saturday (1/7) and rain was forecasted for the entire week. Long story short, Kevin did an excellent job in repairing the fence. He even fixed a couple of loose panels on another part of the fence for no charge. His price was excellent and he is a very interesting person to converse with. I was very pleased with his service and will definitely call again if I need some fencing repairs. read more

Note: I cannot speak to the quality of work, only my efforts in securing the work: Mr. Kallvet (the owner) personally answered his telephone, which I appreciated after making many calls and leaving voice messages for other vendors and waiting and waiting for return calls (although with "hello" and not with the name of the company or his name so I wasn't even sure I was calling the right number so I asked for the owner by name to which he replied "who is calling?" - he said he wanted to make sure I wasn't a telemarketer). I found him very polite and professional during the call and very engaging - he asked and answer questions and arrived at my home within the hour to provide me a comprehensive estimate for two separate jobs (he is licensed in fencing and painting). Again he answered all of my questions and made some suggestions (this was a project a neighbor had started, but was unable to complete, 4 posts had been set) - all the while very polite and professional, even had a photo array of his work for me to review. Although his was not the lowest bid (his was in the middle of the three bids, all were within $150 of one another), I selected Mr. Kallvet because I felt confident he understood the fence design, he is licensed, and because he was available the following morning. We agreed on a price, I paid a cash deposit (he was very professional regarding the deposit reminding me that a 10% deposit is the most required by law) and stated that he would begin work the following morning between 7a.m. and 7:30 a.m. As we parted I specifically stated "should anything come up or you have questions, give me a call" to which he replied akin to "no worries, I'll be here tomorrow and get right to work". Mr. Kallvet showed up just 10 minutes or so later than agreed (not a problem to me whatsoever) and immediately apologized for being a bit tardy, but then stated he had lost sleep over my work/project because of concerns over the design of the fence. I was taken aback with this statement as we had discussed, at great length (the estimates took about 75 minutes - it was nice not to feel rushed), the day before, the specifics of my fence (about 80 feet of fence, 4 posts already set, he would not do the three gates). He stated he was concerned about a neighbor's visibility from their driveway - again, news to me. He suggested a substantial change to the angle of one side of the fence noting "it won't match the other side, but it won't look bad". We discussed, again, my findings with the city fencing requirements (I do not need a permit for the type and location of my fence and I ensured the entire design meets visibility requirements - in fact, this particular neighbor of his concern has a 60' tall tree with 17' broad trunk located just under 3' from the sidewalk and driveway providing a far more restricted view of the street than my planned fence which leaves the neighbor to utilize his 14 foot wide driveway, plus 15 feet between the driveway and the fence line, plus a 6 foot angle in addition to the 3'6" setback. However, what concerned me most is that he appeared to be unversed in all things relating city fencing permit requirements and/or fencing guidelines (setback standard, height allowances within and/or beyond setbacks, precise visibility requirements, etc), furthermore, and most disappointing, was that he made no offer to review the fencing standards and/or permit guidelines with the city (whereas the two other bids I received from other vendors included permit filing (if necessary) and a recap and discussion of basic requirements (setback measurements, height, materials, visibility standards and so on). When I noted I, as the homeowner, am ultimately responsible for the fence, he reminded me (very politely) "but it's my reputation". At that point I asked if he preferred not to continue the job and, without hesitation, he said yes and immediately provided me with a full refund of my cash deposit, and left. I'm not sure what to think after the above given he has been in business for at least 15 years and was recommended by the company from whom I purchased all the supplies........after his departure I immediately double-checked my plans with the city and confirmed my plans are 100% compliant. read more

My wife and I bought our first home and moved in earlier this year in January. We made a number of improvements including new carpets, landscaping,window coverings,etc. We finally got to the last item on our list- fixing our backyard fence-last week. I made calls to several of the top rated fence repair businesses on yelp. The first 6 companies I contacted were either booked solid for at least the next 3 weeks or never returned my call. I called Prime Time Fencing last Monday and spoke with Kevin,the owner. He was nice, courteous, knowledgeable, and best of all able to schedule an appointment for an estimate on Thursday of the same week.
