We got a quick response to our online request for a quote and Edgar was at the house within a week and at a time that was mutually convenient to give us a quote. He was thorough in explaining the quote, including the "forks in the road" that might lead to a more expensive total cost. The pricing (including the possible expansion in scope & cost) was completely transparent. When it turned out that we had some rotten fascia and a flat roof that would need replacement, the team was diligent in sharing very clear photographs of the damage, as well as transparent that the flat roof repair we needed was not in their wheelhouse. They paused the work so that we could get the flat roof repaired and then resumed installation as soon as the other contractor had finished the work. I can't imagine a better experience.

He expertly identified issues with a temporary repair performed by a third party and clearly explained the best way forward. He also explained pricing and what sort of scope of work I would be looking at if I did elect full window replacements. Even though I ultimately didn't proceed with Crystal Exteriors' services (at their own recommendation), I truly appreciated the honesty, professionalism, and helpful advice. It's heartwarming to find a business that prioritizes doing what's right for the customer over making a sale. When it does come time to replace my windows, Crystal Exteriors will be my first choice. I strongly recommend this business for anyone seeking knowledgeable, trustworthy, and customer-focused service.

Victor came out and conducted a garage attic inspection using a tall ladder ceiling hatch. He didn't enter the lighted attic but just did a visual inspection using a flashlight. After his inspection, Victor claimed one side of my roof needed an asphalt roofing patch. What he didn't tell me was that, five to six feet from his attic ladder inspection, was an extremely obvious water pipe leak that had created black fungus on nearby wood. So obvious you could easily view without a flashlight. So what we have here is deceiving a possible customer by telling him he has a roofing leak when, in reality, a plumber was needed to correct the interior water pipe leak. Thus, my one-star rating, which actually should be lower.

Terrible measurement / installation, terrible customer service…read more Just replaced windows in August with Window Nation. Two of my new windows are about 1 inch too short for the frame likely due to a measurement mistake, and the gap is just stuffed with foam. According to ASTM E2112 and FGIA guidelines, manufacturers usually only allow a 1/2-inch rough opening (RO) clearance at the top and sides. After research, I was concerned not long after, this flawed installation will cause windows deformed (difficult to lift/open, will not lock, etc.) and the exterior caulking will be cracked allowing rainwater to seep in. After raising my concern to Window Nation, they sent someone out who just copied my photos instead of doing an actual inspection. They then closed my case without even notifying me. When I called back, they said my case was closed because the installation was "standard" and told me I'd have to pay out of pocket to fix it. They refused to transfer me to a supervisor or technical expert. Finally they said they let the installation manager know and he will call me to address my frustration, but I've been completely ghosted. Do not recommend.

To be sure I was not wasting their time, I used the chat function to verify that my home which has 2x6 stud construction would be acceptable to them. I was told there would be no problem. They told me they wouldn't be able to help me because "our windows are too heavy for your type of home". I said no problem, I'm looking for a door and storm door combination. Again I was told their product was too heavy to be installed in my home. I do not mind if they do not want to deal with manufactured homes. But waiting until 2 days before the appointment to tell me their product is too good for my house is unacceptable. By the way. Home Depot replaced my center hinge French doors, my front door and storm door. I will have them do the job on this 3rd door. I will be sure to inform anyone that asks about Renewal by Andersen how they processed my request. Good luck to you. I hope my comment helps at least one other customer look elsewhere.
