Came here for lunch while I dropped off my car for servicing - the auto care shop worth another good review. I had an order of Hawaiian chicken combo - came with fried chicken katsu and grilled chicken, 2 scoops of rice and one scoop of Mac salad. The katsu was done good - chicken still juicy and tender on the inside while the bread crumb outside was fried to good crisp. Not burnt at all and they taste fresh! The lady boss (I think) was very kind and caring. The tables were clean so I brought out my laptop and started working on it. While I was working and having the hot lunch at same time, she is so sweet to bring me a cup of water - I didn't buy or ask for it. Don't let the lack of curb appeal deter you from the delights that await inside. I know it looks rundown and ancient from the parking lot, but inside, these folks are cookin' with some seriously high quality ingredients. Had this delicious food last week for the first time. I was blown away at how fresh the food was. I had low expectations for the business based on location, but was pleasantly surprised. Came back this week to eat and an employee or manager was shooing customers away at 5:00pm talking about they were closed. CLOSED at 5pm. We ordered from DoorDash and expected to pick up our order when it was ready, but our food was not ready even after an hour. The cashier got confused and charged us for another customer's order which was triple the price of ours and she failed to even tell us the total before swiping our card. She knew from the very beginning that it was a DoorDash order but still tried to charge us and we were so confused by the situation that we ended up paying and then realizing we already paid. My Hawaiian staple is always ALWAYS chicken Katsu. And you know what? It was pretty good! The chicken was cooked well and flavorful. While that's the main deal for that dish, the 3 stars come from the sides. So. I like veggies. But throwing a couple broccoli pieces isn't my cup of tea. So 1/5 for effort there. WORST PLACE EVER!! I would give zero stars if I could. It's overpriced for mediocre Hawaiian food and the service was terrible. I ordered garlic shrimp and it was covered in a thick garlic sauce that tasted like absolutely nothing, completely flavorless. I felt like I was eating raw shrimp. I didn't want anything from there after that nasty shrimp but, I thought maybe something else would be better. When I asked to exchange for chicken instead they refuse to exchange. She was so rude! She swore I was trying to trick her into giving me more food. And told me I ate too much of it to exchange but i only ate two pieces. I even threw the food away in the restaurant to show that it wasn't edible. If that was ridiculous enough, I felt sick a few hours after eating it. We ended up in Frannie's (which we had never previously heard of) mostly as a matter of geographical convenience, while waiting for the Honda dealership next door to finish a service job.  This is a fairly new restaurant, open less than a year.  They describe themselves as a Hawaiian BBQ, but there's really not much that's specifically Hawaiian; about the only things on the menu that reminded me of the Islands were macaroni salad (and how on earth did that come to be a Hawaiian specialty?) and the sushi-influenced Spam musubi.  The rest of the menu is mostly Chinese and Japanese, with one Korean dish, kalbi short ribs. There's a steam table up front, mostly for their substantial takeaway trade, with additional dishes cooked, rather slowly, to order. We had two made-to-order dishes:  the teriyaki chicken bowl (rather fatty chicken breast, with broccoli and rice);  and barbecued chicken, with broccoli, rice and macaroni salad.  As far as my wife and I could tell, both dishes had the same sauce, bland enough that I added hot sauce to the BBQ version. Rather plain décor, with widely-spaced tables for about 20.   Plasticware.   Satisfactorily clean, including the restroom.  Plenty of parking in their own lot. Overall, not awful, but I doubt that anything would bring us back here before the Honda's next oil change. read more

All the food is SPOILED AND OLD!!! Today my family wanted to eat Chinese food so I decided to come here. I bought a family meal and spent $40. By the time I got home the food was cold so I decided to heat up the food and the fried rice was sooooo SPOILED ! You can smell it! It was sooooo disgusting. Affordable, good location, and friendly. Came here expecting Hawaiian BBQ favs as always but this is my first time here at Frannies. Did not know they also served Chinese food as well. Ratings on what I had was the #1 Chicken combo which included katsu/and bbq chicken. The bbq chicken did not have the same grill flavor as what other HBBQ places have. Best veggie chow mein ever! The portions are huge and the prices are super fair. They also have a large selection of Hawaiian-Sun juices! My daughter keot asking if this was chicken. Without the meat fried rice could be bomb. Chowmein- nothing special about the flavor but the texture was spot on. Nice local place with upgrades from this location's earlier version. Frannies Express brings the convenience and fresh, Chinese fast food of 'Panda', without the long lines and fuss. Really did not want to slam a small business like this, especially one that just opened, hopefully they will read this and adjust their ingredients. Anyways, their chinese menu is legit, all the food is tasty and what is to be expected with any heat tray style restaurants. Their hawaiian menu is not authentic at all, and the meat has a strange texture. I got the bbq mix combo, and the short ribs looked brown on the outside, but was reddish purple on the inside. I have no words.I had a really bad experience, the first time I went I just got fired chicken, which was delicious so I figured why not go again so I went which was a big mistake the short rib steak was not chewable at all, the fried rice was basically just all soy sauce, the chicken musibi didn't have any flavor, the Kung pao chicken and the mushroom chicken were just soy sauced squished vegetables barely chicken, it was not presentable how the food was placed so It was a big waste of money and time.
