Teriyaki chicken and bbq beef combo
    Sanilie F.

My family and I have been coming here for about two years now and it's sometimes a hit or miss. At times, they will skimp on the meat and pile a whole lot of cabbage and broccoli underneath the chicken or beef so that the plate looks more full and other times, they will give you your money's worth. So, with that being said, I will write this review based on today's experience. Order: ordered in the restaurant, the lady in front is always welcoming and nice. My order took about 15 minutes to be ready. Food: Food was well made and ingredients was fresh. I ordered a combo box with chicken teriyaki and bbq beef, order of macaroni and spam Musubi. The chicken/beef combo was very flavorful. The macaroni salad is one of my favorite things on the menu and is actually one of the reasons why I keep coming back. I always have to get a side order of the macaroni salad. The musubi is okay, they pack it with rice but the spam slices are very thin.... Not really my thing but my family likes it. Overall: I really want to give them a 4 star rating but because of my mixed experiences here and it being a hit or miss with portion sizes, I have to give them a 3 stars. Sidenote: I would recommend this spot to others.

On this week's episode of "I don't want to eat my own cooking for the next week", I arrived at Frannie Express for lunch (take-out, of course) Today, I ordered the BBQ mix plate ($11.89). The plate came with two scoops of rice, one scoop of macaroni salad, BBQ chicken, BBQ beef, and beef short rib. Nothing seemed egregious here. Notably, the macaroni salad did not taste like a deluge of mayonnaise, the bane of many a macaroni salad. First impressions would lead one to believe that Frannie's embodies prototypical neighborhood Hawaiian restaurant. Decor looks minimalist with about a decade's worth of light exposure and fading, much like any neighborhood Chinese restaurant. That impression would be absolutely correct. Frannie's offers cheap and filling meals with no frills or other strings attached. Truly, what you see is what you get.

Frannie Express sits on San Pablo Avenue. Its easy to drive past. And you probably should keep driving past. I have been here one time, and will not be back. The service was terrible. They were rude and unhelpful. The menu is confusing. I ordered four different menu items before getting one that they would let me purchase. There is a confusing system of combos and availability that I was unable to understand apparently. The food was ridiculously salty and greasy. It was one of those meals that you feel ill after and regret. I'm gonna pass on this place next time.

Great quality and prices. Love the teriyaki chicken. Their won ton soup is unbelievably filling and good. Completely shocked by it

Always a good idea to have Hawaiian food, not gunna lie. That said, had to go with the loco moco. I've had my share of loco mocos so this was a tough review. For starters there's something about a burger patty with an egg on top and closing it out with some Mac salad. This one was just ok, a bit salty tho...that's pretty much I can say ‍, i may try it again but will look around first. Eat well and aloha -ant

I go here pretty often and the customer service is always nice even and the food is always good and comes with good portions. 10/10 would recommend

I love this place. Its the perfect place as my bf loves Hawaiian bbq and I love Chinese. Its delicious, fresh, and the flavor is always on point. Guarantee recommend.

How can you put a sticker on the door saying that you accept AMEX & Discover and you don't? You can't be THAT disrespectful to your customers when they're about to pay! And by the way, the food there is greasy and the best score I can give is 3 out of 10.

Just based on the customer service, the lady was really nice, and wanted to help. She was patient, when everyone was trying to figure out what they wanted. We took our food to go. As usual, I love to have Katsu chicken combo any Hawaiian barbecue place I go. (Mac & cheese & rice.) I would consider coming back here again.

Watch out for your food guys they leave here for you underneath your chicken

I called to resolve an issue do you and they were rude as hell! They insisted that they wore hair caps but I ordered food for delivery and as I was eating my food I looked down to take another bite and there was a piece of long black hair underneath a piece of chicken that I was about to eat. They told me they couldn't do anything about it mind you my hair is purple so it definitely could not be mine and I just took it out of the bag. They told me if I had a problem that I could write a review and post a picture so here it is I hope you guys do better with your deliveries.

Unfortunately the food was just as bad and overpriced as the first time, I really don't understand how this place is so well reviewed. We both ordered 310 Burgers, one on the regular brioche bun and one on a lettuce wrap. The lettuce wrap came in two steamed, wilted pieces of iceberg, while the brioche bun was untoasted, foamy-textured and soggy. Both medium burgers had the consistency of boiled meatballs. The bacon jam was decent, but the overall experience was wildly unappetizing. We also both got plain fries, which were somehow greasy and dry at the same time, and instantly turned stale as they cooled down. We really hoped for this place because it's conveniently located, and all the other decent burger spots nearby have closed, but sadly we won't be giving 310 Eatery a third try.

But for real, how fun to have something different come to our neighborhood with a focus on a healthier, fast-casual experience. I'm not a huge fish fanatic, but I do appreciate having an option as a newer mom for something unique. And California Fish Grill has a kiddo menu, exterior seating as well, and beer/wine/a small, new cocktail menu. They also have kiosks if you want to just order from there for convenience. Quick and efficient. On our particular recent trip, we ordered the Kids Teriyaki Chicken which comes with white rice and a juice box, but we subbed for the beans. We also ordered our favorite, the Dynamite Shrimp Bowl ~ you can pick your base (white/brown/cauliflower rice or salad), and I usually add avocado to mine. The shrimp are quick fried in this dynamite sauce that is just that, dynamite! Super yummy and a dish that I just can't jump ship, or shrimp ha, for anything else on the menu! They have a couple new power bowls on the menu as well like an Island Teriyaki Chicken Bowl and Avocado Veggie Bowl too. Something I must also add are the sides here are a must ~ we love the Parmesan String Beans, but the New England Clam Chowder and Brussels Sprouts are also solid choices. This go around we had the Parmesan Garlic Bread which was just okay. The Plaza has plenty of parking. Pricing is a bit more steep for fast-casual, but understandable given market pricing out there. I look forward to coming back to the fish grill soon for a change from our typical routine. And love the newer chicken additions to the menu as well!

It was quiet, maybe three or four other tables. Our food server was patient as I looked over the fairly large menu. Ended up with some of my current faves: hamachi nigiri, California roll, yam roll, and salmon skin roll. Everything was thoughtful, well prepared, and delicious. It was just enough food and I was good for the night. On our second visit, my hubby and I brought my dad for lunch to celebrate his 88th birthday. It was pouring rain outside but we were fortunate to get parking right outside the door. We ended up sitting by the window which was the same table we sat at during our first visit. We ordered gyoza (6) for the table. We all ordered bento. Dad had the beef short ribs and California roll, hubby had the Vegetable tempura and California roll, I had the Saba shiyoyaki and hamachi sashimi. All three came with miso soup and salad. Everything was delicious. My fish was well seasoned and moist, dad's beef short ribs were tender, hubby's tempura was light and crisp. Lunch was very reasonably priced for all we ordered. I am definitely a fan of this place and look forward to dining here again.
