With pull and peel seafood, I prefer to get it delivered, then hunker down and watch a cliched Netflix movie. However, I think this is more of a sit down place. The prices reflect that and are not on par with other similar local restaurants. In season Dungeness crab was about $65 for 1. Every additional item (potato, corn, sausage) was a surcharge. These things are usually free at other similar restaurants. Just throw me in a free potato at least! They cost 20 cents from the supermarket! read more

It was a Friday night and my partner and I were looking for some good seafood for Lent. We entered the door and wanted to be acknowledged. After about 5 minutes of waiting and speaking with a couple that was already there we were approached by a very frazzled staff member who promptly told us they were not seating any more tables. Confused I asked what does that mean? She replied she was cleaning two tables and they were already spoken for. No offer to return in a few minutes, or you can wait but it will be a long one. While it felt like the individual could have been having busy night it felt like a very unprofessional response that Ensured I would not ever want to return. The food is good but this interaction ensured I would not recommend or return this place myself. Hopefully the management can work on how staff deal with patrons. I've eaten here many times and I've also had a lot of my friends coming back to this place because it's so tasty. I love their fish and chips, but I absolutely am crazy for the crayfish. Everything they do especially with that special sauce they make is incredible and I'm really looking forward to going back again. They're very well located on San Pablo Blvd. and you will not be disappointed if you go in there and order your mud bugs. Also, they're fishes succulent and tasty and the dipping sauce are superb. Hubby and I were looking for Seafood, came across this and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing. We got there at 7:30 on Friday night, two parties ahead of us. The restaurant is small, basically 7 tables. 3 were together for a large party, and waitress immediately greeted us, explained that when the large party finished, they would split a table off for us and 7 person party ahead of us would get 2 tables, so probably 30 minute wait. Since the garlic smelled amazing, we waited. In about 30 minutes we all were seated. They do have a seating area, but the party ahead of us was sitting in it. After being seated with menus and water, we did wait some time, maybe 30 minutes, to have order taken. Since we could see the people receiving their food that we had watched seated ahead of us, we chatted and relaxed. They have a bar, but we don't drink. I'ld suggest getting drink from bar to sip during wait. There was one waitress, but this is seven tables, so she was efficient, professional, friendly. She patiently explained options. We ordered the shrimp boil, which was huge prawns, garlic butter mild! I had the salad which was crispy, fresh, with excellent dressing on side, cucumbers and tomatoes. Hubby ordered fish and chips, plus calamarie. It took another 30 minutes for food to arrive, but well worth the wait. The pound of shrimp was twice what I could eat. I don't eat carbs, (keto) but tasted the calamarie, which was some of the best I have had, not rubbery. The coating crispy without being covered with heavy batter. The fish the same, wonderfully crispy coating and chuncks of firm fresh fish inside. The fries I did not try, hubby didn't either, next time he would just order fish and calamari. I wanted him to try the Player platter, so I could taste various options. I will have to go back wth more adventurous friends. So about 90 minutes from walk-in till eating, but we were looking for leasurly casual date with good food, so this hit the spot. If you are looking for fast food, you should probably wait for another time. If you are looking for really good seafood, especially the boils, and don't mind waiting for a great meal, this is it. The Player's Plate (5/5) came loaded: garlic noodles, fried catfish, prawns, and wings. Every bite hit. The fried catfish with fries was crispy, well-seasoned, and fresh--definitely a 5/5. And the Cajun Combo (half shrimp, half mussels with corn and potatoes) had great flavor. I really appreciate how they don't skimp on the garlic; those big chunks in the seafood boil are everything. It seemed like just one person was handling the front during our visit, but she held it down like a pro--friendly, efficient, and super helpful. Big props to her. And shout out to the chef--the catfish was perfect, the wings were solid, and the whole meal was clearly smackkkinnnn. Even though it felt like an off day for the staff, the food still came through. 7 of us went on a Sunday right when they opened at 3p. Our waitress was very attentive. It wasn't crowded at all so we were able to sit together at a large table. The food was really good! There was so much food that most of us got to-go boxes. I got the fried shrimp with fries. My husband got the fish and chips. We were so hungry that I forgot to take pics. Will do so next time. The hostess came and took our order pretty quickly. She was also the bartender and she provided excellent service. The drinks were very good and they don't skimp on the alcohol. The food came out pretty quickly and was delicious. The noodles were garlicky and tasty. The chicken and shrimp were very well seasoned and delicious. The catfish could have used a little more salt for my liking but still was fried to perfection and very good. First time here last night and had a really great experience. The food was so good I forgot to take pictures! We had the jerk wet wings, the fried catfish and garlic noodles to start. All of them were amazing in their own way. The jerk wings burned so good!! Not super spicy but definitely hit your sinuses. The catfish was probably the best I've had in a while. Super crispy and well seasoned. The garlic noodles were also super tasty, all the flavors were delicious!!! The main course was a pound of shrimp with corn and sausage. The sausage on its own was sooooo good!!! But overall the boil was definitely something I'm going back for. Thank you to the staff for taking great care of us and making us feel at home. First time here, celebrating my sister's birthday and it was like we were kicking it at a friend's house! I was able to make a reservation one day in advance for 7 people during peak dinner hours, and even called the same day to change our time with no issues whatsoever. They accommodated us right away and sat us even without my whole party present. Someone had called out, but we never even felt like service was slow or anything. This is a family owned and operated business, and we really felt like we were a part of that. Granted, we had quite a few shots, so alcohol tends to loosen up people but even without that, the whole staff were cool as heck. The food was delicious. Calamari (forgot to take a pic) was light and crunchy, served with cocktail and tartar sauces. The garlic noodles were super flavorful and stayed buttery. Some places tend to dry out and clump up, but not these! The seafood boils also had tons of flavor and spice. Medium was about as much as I could handle. Lol I think my absolute favorite dish was the Player's Plate. It comes with garlic noodles, 5 Tony's wings, 5 prawns and a huge catfish filet. Best bang for your buck, in my opinion. I would get that next time we go. And a special surprise was Tony's Style (Berkeley) was in the building. They were temporarily operating out of the space, so we had to get the shrimp and crab baguette. All that cheesy seafood goodness went perfect with our shots. I went on a Friday night with my young daughter who wants to try seafood boil for her first time. We found the food to be tasty. Not too plain, not too much salt, just the right amount of spice. The music was loud in the restaurant, but I liked it. The waitress was absolutely amazing! She was very patient explaining the menu, friendly, very attentive, you could tell she was having fun. I came across several clams that were not opened and mentioned it to her, and when I got my rest of my food to go, she threw around a bunch of clams to replace my bad ones. When this restaurant first opened, I used to come here almost every week! The food has always been amazing, and the drinks are delicious. During COVID, I kept supporting them by ordering on instagram or calling in my orders, and I was so happy when they finally reopened to the public. But ever since reopening, it's been kind of a hit or miss experience. Every time I try to go in, it's either DoorDash only, closed even though it says open online, or rented out for a private event. I've learned I always need a "Plan B" because "Plan A" doesn't always work out here anymore. I really hope the manager or whoever handles their social media starts communicating these changes better just like they do when they promote events on Instagram. The food was hot and seasoned to perfection. The entire event everyone asked, "where did you guys get this food?! We came on a pretty busy day, there was a whole party going on so they had half the room closed off to that party and there were about 5 tables open for other customers. Surprisingly the food didnt take that long to come out considering there was a whole party going on. We ordered calamari, shrimps and mussels with boiled eggs, sausage and potatoes and a side of garlic noodles. Calamari was ok. Ive had better. It was very little bits of pieces and a little salty. The shrimp and mussels with the potatoes, egg and sausage was not it. It was very oily. I tried my best to enjoy it but its just not how i like my seafood boil. The sausages barely had color to it and the eggs were overcooked. The garlic noodles was probably the only thing i liked but even then, wasnt wowed by it, have had better. I've been torn on how to rate this place since coming here. Both times we've gotten food from here (once dine-in and once takeout), the service has been so so slow. 0/5 for ordering online. I got no confirmation so I called after about 30 minutes and they said their system was down so they couldn't see any online orders and would get started on them once they could get it up again ???? Why have it available as an option if it's unreliable? I ended up canceling that order and just placing one by phone, which was differently priced from our dine-in meal with no explanation by the way (more expensive). When we dined it there was one girl at the bar and one waiting tables and that was IT. The place was relatively full and they couldn't greet people at the door for a long time because they were busy. It took us about 15 minutes to be seated despite open tables - they just didn't have the staff. Food wasn't bad but it's crazy that each small potato and corn you add to your seafood boil is $1. Each. One. I ordered a corn on the side for my kid and it was completely flavorless, not at all like the sweet corn we usually get for him. Overall the garlic noodles and seafood boil were good once you got past the wait, but extremely salty. If you're restricting salt for any reason this is not the place for you. When we did take out we just got the shrimp and I altered the rest at home with my own vegetables to try to dilute the saltiness, but to no avail. I tipped well since it was clear the staff was struggling and it would be a shame to see it go away, but they have some major improvements to make before we decide to come back. read more
