    Stuffed Angel Wings
    Linda G.

Loved that there's authentic Cambodian food in the peninsula area now! The kitchen is located inside another restaurant and opened from Fri-Sun. I liked to do large take-out orders to feast with family so I was able to try many dishes. Lots of them packed with flavors but notable mentions: +Angel wings dipped in their special sauce +beef sticks + Cambodian sausages/Twa Ko Can't wait to visit again.

A pop up located inside Pho de Nguyen on the weekends, this spot is a gem! They serve Khmer/Cajun food and I love their unique offerings. The chef is so nice and we got to meet her during our meal. Sadly their pop up is closing after next week, but hopefully soon they'll have their own permanent spot! The food was delicious. Raw Shrimp Salad - amazing, I need more of this asap. It's a Khmer style ceviche and if you're into ceviche, this is for you. Beef Jerky - so tasty, savory and chewy. It's a big portion. Cambodian Noodle - so comforting! It's a fish based broth with lemongrass and vermicelli noodles. Stuffed Chicken Wings - the chicken was juicy and was stuffed with noodles, definitely give it a try.

Hella fresh crawfish! Amazing in house dipping sauce too!

An amazing spot that pops up Friday night and the weekend! Come try their authentic Khmer Cambodian food. It was my first time having straw shrimp and it was . My favorite item was definitely their beef skewer twice was marinated and perfectly tender. Overall the flavors were very different and amazing. I haven't eaten much Cambodian food but this definitely has its own flavor category. It's also nice to see familiar food like their Seafood cajun style. The owners use to be from Texas and worked there some time before coming back to the bay. Definitely a must try. Asian owned small business. Come taste the culture and see what khmer food is all about! Still so many items I have yet to try. Def will be back to try them all! They also have their own beef Jerky brand that comes in multitude flavors.

We noticed this pop up Khmer/Cambodian place as we were parked right in front of Pho De Nguyen last week. I sure was excited because the photo display looked really good. The sausages, the jerky, the stuffed wings all looked amazing and promising. Unfortunately for us, we were a few weeks in on our meatless journey so we couldn't eat any of those even if we wanted to. FOOD: Disclaimer: I am in no way well versed in Khmer cuisine nor claiming to be. We ordered the Crawfish Etouffe and Cambodian Noodle. I thought the sauce in the etouffe was flavorful with a generous serving of crawfish. If you like some spice in your etouffe, this has zero kick, fyi. It would've paired well with steamed rice which we opted out due to a restrictive diet. The Cambodian Noodle was just okay. I thought the fish based soup was tasty on my first slurp, then I got confused really quick if they gave me the right order. The menu said it's served with sliced beans and bean sprouts and yet the bowl had none. It was all shredded cabbage, a handful of dill, green onions and a flower. The dill was very fragrant that at some point it's all I could taste. The kroeung (aromatic spice paste, usually with fingerroot, galangal, lemongrass etc.) also was too much. A couple of tablespoons was probably in there making the soup thick and more like a sauce. 2 stars just for the noodles and 3 for the etouffe. However, it's not their fault we had diet restrictions and we couldn't order more. I have to be fair. I cannot rate a local startup (family?) hardworking business on 2 dishes alone when they have so much to offer. But I want to get the word out there about this place thus the 4 star. This place has so much potential. Just check out their IG page and Yelp photos from the business owner and you'll see how appetizing their food is. SERVICE: I know they've been doing pop ups for months but I felt like it was their first night of service ever. I couldn't help it seeing them literally running in the small space all night, getting and giving incorrect orders and people cancelling the last of their orders because of the long wait. There's a couple impatient guys casually getting the drinks themselves from the fridge. A lot of action and a bit of chaos went on that night tbh. We were served a gumbo. Clearly confused, we asked why our order of crawfish etouffe w/o rice had shrimps, sausages and rice. Good thing we did not touch it because it turned out to be for the table next to us. One of the people from that table started handing tip$ shortly after ordering. It was as if they were trying to bribe the staff to get their food faster when literally everyone in the room has ordered prior to them. I don't see the point in flagging the obviously busy servers in the middle of service and contribute in disrupting the flow. They were not helping and making service worse for all of us. Who else does this? I am hopeful the staff would figure out and work on improving service sooner than later. Cambodian food is something I wanna explore more given we do not have a lot of it in the Peninsula. I am coming back for those sausages when I get back being a carnivore. When I do, I'll be updating this review.

    Dancing shrimp

5-stars for the spicy that put me out When I say put me out, I only had three scoops and threw the whole thing away bc I didn't want my family to eat it by accident. My body was SOAKED and I continued to drip for 15 mins. I would say to not order it extra spicy for the sake of enjoying the papaya salad. The crab was okay, I feel it should be cracked if they put it in there. The dancing shrimp was good. Maybe with a beer? Pretty salty, but fresh. The stuffed chicken is what I ate the most. Not too salty, but slightly sweet. Came with a spicy mayo-ish kind of sauce. I ruined my own experience by ordering too spicy where I actually couldn't handle it for once. I will give them another try. Has to be on the weekend since they're only open on Friday to Sunday? Pretty pricey too, FYI. Borderline recommend. Borderline bc of the price. Happy eating to all!

Papaya Salad with salted crabs $17
    Sandy L.

On the menu, it's very clearly stated that the papaya salad came with the salted crabs for $17. When we got our bill, they charged us $25. The waitress with short and golden hair said we asked for the crabs. We were confused. We asked the waitress to bring us the menu and I showed her that on the menu the salted crabs were included in the papaya salad for $17. Then, she said, "That was a different type of crab, those were small crabs." Well! I questioned her back "Where does it say the crabs price and also why did you charge $25?" It says nothing on the menu. Then, she said "So do you want me to take this off?" I said "Yes, I only pay what the menu listed." Finally, she changed it back to $17 for the papaya salad with salted crabs. :) - The Cambodian Noodle was tasty but the soup was too watery and there is too little fish meat and veggies. It should be served with fish gravy and fresh vegetables. It is not authentic. - The Stuffed Chicken Wings was kinda burnt and dry. I think they made it advance and reheated when we ordered. - Kaw's flavors was good but the meat was tough and the pig feet had no firm texture. - The Papaya Salad was the best dish, very flavorful and nice texture. **Trying this restaurant once is enough :)

This is a pop up that takes place at Pho de Nguyen restaurants on Fridays, Saturday's and Sunday's. Got the pleasure of trying a bunch of dishes : Stuffed chicken - juicy chicken stuffed with delicious items. Probably my favorite dish here. Beef stick - tender beef on a stick served with a sweet sauce on the side. Garlic noodles - just as described , comes in a huge bowl and is great for sharing. Clams - clams were very small, the sauce was flavorful with it. Sausage - a little on the sour side Chicken sticks - also tender but the beef was better Overall, meal was very enjoyable. Cambodian cuisine is pretty hard to come by, so definitely give this place a try. Service is friendly and accommodating as well.

I first tried Sitha's back in April so this review is a little late. I'm also bummed Yelp lowered the quality of my photo. I promise the colors are much brighter and the food looks amazing! Sitha's is located inside Pho de Nguyen and is a Khmer, Cambodian, and Cajun weekend pop-up. Sitha runs the operation with her family and they are hard workers. You'll see the pride they have in serving their customers when you visit. What's really neat is that they get their crawfish fresh and live all the way from Louisiana. That means you get the good jumbo crawfish! If you're a crawfish lover, this is the spot for you. This will always be a must get for me when I visit. My second favorite dish was their skewers! The presentation of their food is just on point and I feel like love is put into every dish they prepare.

I thought we were eating Vietnamese food after we entered. I guess I was wrong. The establishment is split between three cuisines: Vietnamese, Cambodian/ Cajun food. Mom- Fri they serve Vietnamese and weekend is Cambodian/ Creole. Interesting business concept. Orders to go with the Cajun menu. Not bad but wasn't expecting shrimp to be grilled. Not typical dressings for this type of sandwich. Fries were good. The salmon fillet was a good 4 oz piece. Nice ambiance and right next door is the new sugarcane shop.

Cambodian Flavors Hidden within weekday only Pho de Nguyen in San Bruno, Sitha's Khmer Kitchen is serving Cambodian classics the likes of which the Bay Area hasn't seen The menu features a diverse selection of appetizers and entrees with highlights including the raw shrimp and raw crab papaya salads as well as minced pork stewed fermented fish that one customer highly recommended The flavors are bold and strong with a savoriness balanced with hints of sour and sweet. Fish sauce is a prominent ingredient and herbs like mint and dill abound Overall flavors are perhaps closest to Thai but not the strip mall Thai most of us are familiar but more the bold flavors I sampled at Nari in SF I think the twa ko may be an acquired taste and the Kwa is a touch sweet but the pork belly is delicious Sitha's is a flavorful find in the Bay Area and they plan to be a pop-up on weekends (Sat/Sun) at Pho de Nguyen until next year Highly recommend a visit to try truly novel cuisine, sample unadulterated flavors, and give your taste buds a wake up call Bok Lahong Papaya Salad with Crab $24 ~ Noodle Papaya Salad, Green Beans, Tomatoes, Shrimp Paste, Garlic, Lime Juice, Salted Crabs, Fermented Fish mixed with Sitha's Khmerkitchen special sauce / Dancing (Raw) Shrimp Salad $17 ~ thin sliced shrimps w/ lime juice & spicy sauce, served with mint / Twa Ko (Cambodian Sausage) $17 ~ beef/rice/galanga/Asian seasonings served with pickled veggies / Slaap Moarn Borg Stuffed Chicken Wings $20 ~ Boneless chicken wings, stuffed with ground chicken, lemongrass spices, glass noodles served with pickled vegetables / Prahok Ktiss $24 ~ simmered minced pork in coconut milk, fermented fish, Kreung served with veggies / Kaw $18 ~ caramelized pork belly/pork knuckle w/ rice. Served with soft boiled eggs and bamboo shoots / Garlic Noodles $6 Sitha's Khmerkitchen (San Bruno, CA) Sitha's accepts credit cards and is weekend only lunch and dinner as well as indoor seating only

Beef jerky and Cajun shrimp gumbo
    Irene P.

It is indeed a pop up. We had to double check the location. You're at the right spot if you see Pho De Nguyen on a green awning. It's only opened on the weekends. The service is great and we were asked how we heard about it. This is one of the few Cambodian restaurants in the bay and I wanted to try it. We ordered the beef jerky, Cajun shrimp gumbo and angel wings. The beef jerky was a tad tough but I enjoyed the sweetness. The angel wings was a hit at our table. The springy noodles and crispiness of the chicken skin complemented each other.

We've just had our first taste of Cambodian food, & we really enjoyed it !! We ordered the papaya salad without crab (with medium heat), Dancing Shrimp Salad, the Cambodian Sausages, Stuffed Chicken Wings, & the Cambodian noodle soup. The chicken wings were deboned & generously stuffed with ground chicken, bits of glass noodles, & a mix of spices. So plump, so fragrant with spices, this is a must order! The Cambodian sausage is another highlight. Roughly ground beef spiced with galangal, it had a lovely snappy casing, & textured meat that was very pleasant to chew. We love spicy food & so ordered the sausages spicy - oh boy did they deliver the heat! We made it through, all smiles, though with a little sweaty brow, & do not recommend this level of heat for novices. This is not a dare! The description of "exotic fish-based soup" in the Cambodian noodles intrigued us, & so we had to order that. It turned out to be pretty yummy. Only very mildly funky soup with flaked fish, thin rice noodles, & a heap of very refreshing herbs & veggies. We're gonna need to come back for Sitha's signature dish of "beef jerky", & also the pork knuckle dish.

This restaurant is located INSIDE Pho De Nguyen. This is a pop-up, meaning they only open certain hours. We ordered: 1) Twa Ko (Sausage). 3 stars. I had never tried a Cambodian/Khmer food before. But, I'm very familiar with Vietnamese, Thai and Cajun taste. The taste for this sausages was confusing. I could taste the galangal and lemongrass but there were many other spices that made it "confusing". I cannot say I like it! 2) Papaya Salad. 5stars. I never had papaya salad with noodle and ....$18 in the past. But, this dish is a must if you dine here. It's spicy, salty, and tangy. There bits of RAW crabs in it. We ordered the one without crabs, but, we found bits of them mixed in. I'm not sure if it's intentional or accidental. 3) Nom ban chan. 1 star. Do not order. We were very excited with this dish. Usually, Curry like soups from that part of country are very flavorful with the taste of lemongrass, basil, garlic, mint and fish sauce. Sad to say that this dish was non committed to say the least. Like the sausage, the soups was "confusing". It's almost taste like Thai's Tom kha, but not quite. Almost like Vietnamese's Sour Cat Fish Soup, but quite either. It was a bland bowl of soup! 3)Crawfish Étouffée. 2 Stars. Yet, another confusing dish. The 2 stars were for the freshness of the ingredients. It was served with overcooked jasmine rice (fusion?) I love Cajun Étouffée. The taste of nutty Roux, blend of the Cajun's Holy Grail, The seafood broth and al dente rice. Sitha's crawfish Étouffée was missing all of the above. I'm wondering if the chef was intentionally depriving us to make it "Cambodian"? (Not being sarcastic here). Dont get me wrong, it's tasty! But, it should not be called Étouffée! 5)Stuffed Chicken Wing. 5stars. This one was overload of yumminess! Very crispy outside and tasty filling. Must order! We also ordered Rose tea. The options were Rose or Jasmine Tea. I'm a sucker for anything new. So, I chose Rose. Nope! Wrong choice. They put petals of dried up rose flowers. The end result was hot water infused with somewhat rose flower taste. I took another star away because the restaurant doesn't allow 2 credit cards split. The service fee for 1 $100 charge and 2-$50 is the same. Not sure why this place do not allow bill split. Anyway, the concept of this restaurant is exciting. Cambodian and the Bayou, two very distinct culinary palates with French influence. Combining these two is unimaginable, weird but a brave effort. Tasty culinary weirdness is in. It's called fusion. Unfortunately, Sitha is hovering just over weird line at the moment (in my personal opinion). I wish it luck!

I looked it up and saw they serve Cambodian food, which got me excited since I haven't had really good Cambodian food since I lived in San Jose. Back then, I used to go to Chez Sovan all the time. I ordered the beef stick combo with rice, which comes with three beef skewers, pickled veggies, and rice. The skewers had great flavor and were surprisingly tender. Honestly, I think they're even better than the ones from Cambodian Street Food. I had their skewers catered for my housewarming party once, and they were a bit chewy, like the meat quality wasn't as good or didn't have enough fat for balance. The pickled veggies here were really good and complemented the meal perfectly. My only small wish is that the beef skewers came with some kind of dipping sauce or hot sauce automatically. I know they have sauces at the table, but it would be nice if they included it without having to ask. I'll definitely be back for the beef skewers or to try something new next time. One dish I really wish they had is amok. Chez Sovan made the best amok I've ever had, and I'd love to see it here. If Kien Svay ever adds an amok rice combo to the menu, I'd probably be here all the time.

I really loved the interior design. Everything was clean and well put together. The restaurant had a smaller, cozy feeling but still felt spacious enough to sit down and enjoy a meal. My favorite parts were the cultural decorations and paintings throughout the restaurant. Little details like that made the experience feel more authentic. Even the cashier area was beautifully designed and added to the overall atmosphere. Customer Service - 5/5 The service was very good. The server was extremely welcoming and friendly -- I believe she might have been the owner. She greeted us with a beautiful smile and created a warm environment that made the whole dining experience even better. Small interactions like that make a restaurant feel more personal and memorable. Food - 5/5 Dish Ordered: Trei Chlaing Chein Kroeung (Pan Fried Catfish) 5/5 My first time trying Cambodian food, and honestly this was an amazing introduction to the cuisine. This was one of the best fish dishes I have ever had. The fish was cooked perfectly -- crispy golden skin on the outside while staying incredibly tender and flavorful on the inside. The sauce was what brought everything together. It was light with the perfect consistency, not too thick and not too heavy. You could taste the lemon coming through, adding the right amount of freshness and kick. There was a little spice, but not the kind that takes over the dish. It created a wonderful balance where every flavor complemented each other. The combination of the fish, sauce, citrus, and seasoning was simple but executed perfectly. Every bite made me want to keep eating. It was honestly delicious. Would I Order Again: 100% Yes. This is easily a dish I would come back for. No surprise this restaurant was previously Michelin recommended -- you can taste the quality and care behind the cooking. Additional Comment: I've always struggled with the idea that eating healthy means sacrificing flavor. A lot of healthier foods like salads can sometimes feel unsatisfying, but this dish reminded me that food can be both healthy and incredibly delicious when done right. I have passed by this restaurant ever since I was young, and it's amazing to see that it's still here after all these years. Seeing a restaurant with food this good not filled with customers honestly feels like a shame. Great food deserves to be discovered, shared, and supported. From the welcoming service, beautiful cultural atmosphere, and unforgettable food, this was an incredible first experience with Cambodian cuisine. I will definitely be back. This is the kind of restaurant you hope stays around for many more years.

I also love the larb, the boat noodles, and pretty much anything from the skewers section. It's absolutely banging and definitely one of the most authentic Thai spots in this area. This is the kind of place you almost want to keep to yourself, but it honestly deserves the recognition.
