Fun, local rugby pub that serves typical pub fare throughout the week, and Indian food Monday - Friday. The chicken biryani portion is ample for two, with a side of raita and garlic naan. I am not a big beer drinker so a half pint was enough for me. They have East Brothers (local brewery) Bo Pils on tap. The servers are easy going, friendly and efficient. I believe they have happy hour until 6pm. Place is super casual, lots of people enjoying the sports games on the screens. Servers are friendly and efficient. Looking forward to trying more of their Indian menu, too.

What a great experience! Went here for food and drinks and the environment was cozy and friendly. Felt like a true European pub (lolol). Our waitress was so kind and welcoming, and serviced us very well. It's a busy but fun environment. The food was tasty but nothing really special, but their burgers will satisfy your juicy burger craving with no problem. Overall, a good place to mingle and have a drink. Will be returning.

Well I had high hopes coming at 2pm on a nice Sunday afternoon. The young gal hostess/waitress with an I Love SF shirt greeted us and sat us. It wasn't too busy and the crowd had died down. Once seated she reappeared to ask what we wanted to drink and said she would come back to take our order(well she never did) Jennifer who tending the bar even brought out my Margarita but first trying to drop if out at the table next to ours. 7 minutes later a guy walks in and Jennifer seats him, bring his glass of wine and takes his order all while we are waiting to place ours. At this point, we need to close the tab of a beer and margarita.

Food was just ok not with $24 for some fish n chips i only tried it because i seen it was $9.95 until i went to pay they said the yelp prices are old and they didn't even try and honor the price i showed him. They good did come out fast no complaints there. I'll probably come back but just for a drink. They have an outdoor patio which is nice on a summer day.

Fried Pickles. Okay.

Good little neighborhood pub and grill. Nothing to travel lengths for. Minimal spirit and wine options, but there were options for every price level. Decent beer selection. Good service, bartenders were nice. The food was decent bar food, with some entree items liste

Lamb burger was freakin bomb. Cooked perfectly. I ordered fries, but they also offer slaw on the side. Please go try.

We went to this downtown Richmond restaurant and have a high hope. I ordered the fish and chips and the fish was soggy and didn't taste fresh. It is pretty blended and no favor at all. The lamb burger is $14 doesn't even come with fries. Will not recommended and not going back

We enjoyed the jumbo pub wings in the jerk dry rub and sweet chili flavors, a rueben sandwich with hand cut fries, and a burren burger with hand cut fries. Our favorites were the wings and the hand cut fries, but the sandwich and burger are solid options. We visited during a world cup soccer game and the atmosphere was that of a pub or sports bar with lively cheering fans and regulars. I highly recommend trying it if you're in the area.

The hostess pointed towards the back and said, "Grab a seat!" This was friendly and normal. So we walk towards the back and start to sit in a booth with four seats. Mind you, the place was EMPTY except for one other table and a waitress folding napkins at another table. Immediately upon us trying to sit down in the booth, and jumped up and asserted: "You can't sit there!! We need that table for four people! Take one of our two-tops." Now, if a place is busy, of course we will do that. But my husband is a larger man and much more comfortable in a wider booth, which is partly why we came early. We asked nicely but the waitress demanded to know who told us we could sit there, then went up to the front to fact check our claim with the hostess. It was so offensive and off putting, we just left. It was embarrassing and rude. Too bad they hire staff that have no manners. They chase away long term business this way because you can definitely believe we told all our friends about this terrible experience.

The brewery is dog friendly, there's a bunch of games -- including a pool table, Pop-A-Shot, and arcade games, and plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. The one con to the space however is that there's a bunch of mosquitos inside. In the span of ten minutes, my friend and I were both bitten four times. If you're sensitive to mosquito bites, you'll definitely want to wear long pants and/or a jacket to keep the mosquitos at Bay. The beers here are fine. There wasn't a single beer that was amazing enough where I'd go out of my way to get it again. Although there's a wide variety of beers, most of them are on the lighter side. In term of food options, there was a single food truck parked outside on the day that we stopped by. That said, they do allow outside food. Overall, East Brother Beer Company was fine, but not a standout brewery experience for me.

There's an exterior in the front to sit outside and enjoy a beautiful late summer evening, and also an exterior in the back of the building to do the same. Or enjoy purchasing a tobacco pipe/tobacco/papers. No food here, but Solano is lined with eateries for pre/post pub action. They have a fireplace for the cold nights, and board games. A fun mix of locals working or hardly working :) This is a beer/wine spot also. Great mix of local sips, and some fun snacks too. Love the art and wall artifacts. A great addition to the area and meeting place for new and old friends alike. Easy on the wallet, metered-parking on Solano.

A must-visit place for anyone living in the area (4/5 Green Stars)…read moreBring cash! That's the first rule of Schmidt's Pub. Maybe it's the only rule! I've been coming here a bit more regularly, lately - more visits in the last year compared to the previous decade, in fact. Now I wonder what I was waiting for. According to the East Bay Express, Schmidt's Pub is "basically your living room, but better" - that does sum it up, except that very few of us have living rooms anything like this, with a cozy fireplace surrounded by comfy armchairs and rustic tables beside sunny windows. Not many of us have living rooms with Old Speckled Hen on tap, or populated with an entertaining parade of quirky folk and friendly dogs. If the people and dogs are not entertaining enough then pick up a copy of Calvin and Hobbes or A History of Clay Pipes (okay, I made that one up) and have a little retreat with a pint. 4/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on these factors: * Beer on tap (transported in reusable kegs) has a much lower footprint compared to bottles or cans. * Allows you to bring your own food, which is good for folk like vegans who are often more comfortable with BYO. * The snacks available at the counter could be a bit more Berkeley (or Albany)! They were mostly from big corps - Lays chips (PepsiCo) and chocolate bars from Mars. Would be nice to see a more imaginative/ethical selection. * A great community space with an inclusive atmosphere. Schmidt's is home to many groups (e.g., knitting) and provides a second family for many, some who send postcards from their trips! * Finally, we shouldn't underestimate the importance of having a place to slow down, reflect and connect with each other a little. In that respect, Schmidt's Pub is worth its weight in gold.

It's just a section but there's nothing to play with inside. It's an empty area with chalkboard walls and an old broken kitchen set. My 2 year old kid was not interested. There were a bunch of older kids in there around 6-12 years old but they were playing tag. We ordered a large spread. The standout was the pretzel. Wow, it was soft and sprinkled with just the right amount of salt particles. Your teeth just sink into it I. Such a satisfying way. It comes with a butter sauce and cheese. Both were great. I even got a second one !! The pulled pork sandwich was really good. Well seasoned and tender. My picky 2 year old doesn't usually like pulled pork but she had a good amount of it which says a lot. The burger was wonderful too. And the fries are GOOD. Fresh out the frier and well seasoned too. Seating wise , everything is outdoors. There's an adult only area where you can drink alcohol. There's also a little fountain that caught the attention of my kid but it isn't safe to play around and it's not meant for kids to play or dip their hands in bc the rocks are jagged. Overall if the play area was more interesting I'd come here all the time. It's a little too far for me to come here with a kid. The food is good though.

We waited longer than we expected, but good thing they have many monitors so we watched the World Cup while waiting for our food. When the food came, they were an impressive sight. The burgers were loaded and dripping with grease. My son liked his Fat Boi, but I thought the Al Pastor in the Trompo was a bit bland. The Trompo was also so greasy that grease was running down my hand and forearm while I am eating it, and I can feel my arteries hardening already! The Highway Style fries were decent. A smash patty laid between two layers of fries and then topped with melted cheese. It was decadent but a guilty pleasure. The kids gave the place 7-7.5 out of 10 and they said they would come back. For myself, probably not as the food was just too heavy for me.
