I recently visited this spot expecting more of a "beer garden" vibe, but it felt more like a traditional restaurant than an outdoor bar-style setting, which caught me a little off guard. That said, the experience had some strong positives. The service was fantastic--our server was attentive, quick, and consistently checked on us. He kept the drinks coming and made sure we were taken care of, which we really appreciated. The margaritas during happy hour were only $7 and honestly really good. As for the food, the flavors were there, but the temperature was a big letdown. Everything came out barely lukewarm, which took away from what could've been a great meal. The burrito (under $20) was well-portioned, well put together, and very flavorful--if it had been served hot, it easily would've been a 10/10. The enchiladas, however, were a bit lacking in flavor. The chips and salsa (about $2) weren't really worth it in my opinion. The chips tasted like they'd been sitting under a warmer too long or fried multiple times, and the salsa leaned more spicy than flavorful. I also didn't add guac or sour cream--if you look at the photo of the burrito, neither was included--so I didn't appreciate being charged extra for items I didn't receive. Overall, I'd rate the ambiance about a 7/10. Between the great service and solid flavors, there's definitely potential here--just really wish the food had come out hot and not charged for items I declined on.

What a great find! We were craving tacos last week and discovered Los Moles on DoorDash -- loved it so much that we decided to visit the restaurant in person this week, and it did not disappoint. On DoorDash, my mom and I both ordered the Quesabirria -- even in takeout containers, they were amazing. The tortillas were generously stuffed with tender meat, the cheese was perfectly melted, and the consomé de birria (served separately) took the flavor to the next level when we dipped the tacos. So good! When we visited the restaurant, I was impressed by the welcoming vibe. There's a great dog-friendly patio -- always a plus -- and the interior decor really adds to the ambiance. The drink menu is extensive, with a wide selection of beers and more. This time, I tried the Mole Verde with chicken -- it was flavorful and delicious. My mom stayed loyal to her new favorite, the Quesabirria, and my partner ordered the Mole Mama Elena -- she said it was the best mole she's ever had. We'll definitely be coming back to Los Moles Beer Garden -- it's a new favorite!

They didn't even picked up our plates, in addition they didn't bring our tortillas and no refills too. What a scam.

Ok so the last time I came here was a great place to eat. That was 7 years ago, and after all this time you would think they would've improved but nope. Don't get me wrong, the food is good but not the best. The staff, the waiter didn't not come to pick our plates or brought our tortillas or even a refill. In fact one of them was angry and didn't came to our table, they only came to us when it was time to pay. The place has a lot of work to be done, specially the restroom since the soap was wide open for any dirty hand to be put inside. Not a nice restroom. I would not recommend this to anyone anymore. For my Spanish folks: No recomiendo a nadie para comer aquí. Hay otros mejores lugares que Los Moles. Lo siento pero no fue lo mejor.

Got take out today! All tacos. Al pastor, asada. Chicken. They were all very good. $16 for 3 tacos rice and beans. Chips extra. Green salsa is outstanding and chips house made. Also nice presentation for takeout.

I didn't know Los Moles in El Cerrito still did Taco Tuesday until this evening ~ hopping off the freeway, I was hungry for a decently sized meal and thought why not stop by our beloved Los Moles for our family's easy but yummy favorite, the chicken x cheese quesadilla. Instead to my pleasant surprise, Taco Tuesday was happening in full force. Sitting outside with the heat lamps blazing, we ordered the Refried Beans with Chorizo and Queso Fresco to start before a feast of taco greatness. Freshly-made corn tortillas with protein options that included diced chicken, pork, and brisket to name a few, with a variety of toppings like diced onions, cilantro, salsas, pickled veggies, beans and lime. With four tacos at a time per plate, I could only make two trips before feeling really cozy (although the tacos are all-you-can-eat). There are also drink specials like $6 beers, and I noticed kids 10 and under can eat free all year. Quick outdoor service, baby/dog friendly outdoor vibe, vibrant indoor digs. Plenty of lot parking. Next time we will come back for the moles and tequila/margs ~ goals for a future weekend!

5 stars for good services and nice laid back ambiance. 5 stars for freshness with foods. 2 stars for very weak flavors, almost bland. No chips and salsa were served either, is that a CA thing?

    Are they open on Christmas?

Does the restaurant always add gratuity?

My party of 2 or 4 never has the gratuity added into the bill. They do print suggested amounts like 18%, 20%, & 25% at the bottom of printout, & shows what the total bill would be with that %. Perhaps they have a mandatory gratuity for large…

Is this location bigger than emeryville location?

Yes, it used to be a Carrows coffeeshop, but has been totally remodeled to have plenty of room inside & nice outdoors seating around the perimeter.

Vegan or vegetarian options available? Do your beans contain lard?

They can make any mole dish Vegetarian, not sure about vegan due to mole sauce ingredients. The caveat is that vegetarian just means cactus and potatoes in the sauce and that's basically it. No other veggies.

    Do they have bottomless mimosas?

    Not to my knowledge.

Are the tortillas gluten free or not because I was told by an employee in el Cerrito that they are not? And on they're web sight they say "all our food is gluten free"?

Not sure on this location but if a tortilla is fried and you have Celiac and they use the frier for anything with gluten, then it be cross contamination. Now if you just watching not to get fat, a couple tortillas won't do anything. :)

I read the buffet is only on weekends,is this true? How much is the buffet? is the lunch buffet, the same price and food as the dinner buffet?

They offer the buffet as well as their full menu on weekends. It's not only a buffet as some people commented.

    When will you guy's open?

They open this Friday, 9/1 at 5pm

    When would this restaurant open?

    Opened on Friday!

What is the set Grand opening date?

    It's this Friday, Sept. 1st at 5:00pm

Looks like almost ready for customers..opening date?

    Opened on Friday!

The menu changes regularly, which keeps things interesting, but one thing that never changes is the consistently excellent service. One of my favorite things about this spot is how dog-friendly it is. The owner's dog is practically the co-owner of the bar and is often lounging around, adding even more personality to the experience. If you are lucky enough to meet him, just know the dog has standards. The dog only accepts meat, so do not bother offering him the tortilla from your taco. Trust me, you will be judged. Another major perk is that they allow outside food. Conveniently, there is a taco truck right next door serving some of the best carnitas tacos around, making it easy to pair great food with great drinks. Also, keep an eye on the TVs. They always seem to be playing some delightfully over-the-top late-night movie programming that inevitably sparks random conversations and plenty of laughter among the crowd. Overall, this is a fantastic neighborhood bar with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and a ton of personality. It can get crowded, so try to grab a spot early if you can. When I finally met him there, I immediately understood the hype. It's got that classic old-school bar feel: plenty of seats right at the bar if you're in the mood to chat, plus some more tucked-away seating in the back if you want something a little more low-key and private. I honestly can't remember the exact name of the drink I ordered (which probably says something ), but it was a mezcal cocktail--and it was so good I had two. Smoky, smooth, and dangerously easy to sip. You order at the bar, the bartender was super friendly, and the overall crowd had that welcoming, neighborhood vibe where everyone seems to know each other--or at least is happy to talk like they do. We also grabbed burritos from the taco truck outside (pro tip: do not skip this), and you can bring the food right into the bar. Great drinks and legit tacos? That's a winning combo.
