Rose tea served in a glass teapot! I love watching the petals unfold. All of the blue and white porcelain is gorgeous!

Great service. Wonderful ambiance and decor! The food is excellent! This place deserves 10 stars! They host community events like Autumn festival and Chinese New Year, tea ceremonies, host local musicians, support the local schools and community are a huge asset to the area. Most of all, they have delicious food. We love to eat in the restaurant, especially the secret VIP room for birthdays, but when we are busy, we get our favourites delivered to our home. Every family member has a different favourite! It's all good!! Highly recommend. Oh, and their Shattuck location is so beautifully decorated!

If you like special one of a kind dishes, you have to come here and taste their special dishes by making appointment before hand. Not only the dishes are delicious and special, their service is very nice and friendly. Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed eating at this restaurant! There are lots of menu options. I ordered the hot and sour soup which was delicious and large enough to share with someone else or eat over multiple meals. I wish it was just a little bit spicier but, otherwise, it was cooked perfectly! Food here is also very affordable. The owner came by people's tables after dinner, which was really sweet. The staff here are so friendly and really want to ensure you enjoy your meal. If you're looking for quick, great service and a wonderful noodle or soup dish, check this place out. :)

All the food was so excellent I got the Shaolin temple stir fry and the Shanghai Shaomai & sesame pancake & my partner got the scallion pancake, Sichuan Dan Dan noodles (all pictured below) everything was so fresh and tasted phenomenal! The restaurant was very mellow with a great history of 11 years at this location this being the original location; i recommend anyone in the El Cerrito area local or visitor to come try this restaurant for some delicious food and amazing atmosphere. Great for all ages and they even have a robotic tea server shaped like a cat! The food is tasty and reasonably priced & you will leave with a full belly and a happy pallet and might pick up some new tea accessories before you leave. Highly recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice Chinese fare. We got a group dinner reservation with a pre-fixed combo meal in their private dining room. Out of all the items, their Jiangxi noodle salad (House Special noodles) and the fried crab fell flat. The rest of the items were pretty good. At the end of our meal, the owner came, poured us complimentary red tea, and chatted with us--a pleasant experience

I have been to their another location, but walked by today and decided to try. Saw the same owner and same menu. We ordered the things we normally would order at the other location. They all taste good. This place does not only give u good Chinese food, but also a place with good style. They will bring out the tea set, and their kids also work on the ground. The price is definitely on the higher side, in comparison to other Chinese places nearby. The place is cute, again, reflects 10 years ago of the Bay area.

I had been curious about this noodle restaurant. The atmosphere was calm and pleasant. The dan-dan noodles were delicious. The service was also friendly.

The noodles are pretty fresh with no artificial flavors. We enjoyed different types of noodles and rice noodles. All of them are pretty delicious. Recommend!

Came for weeknight dinner and the space was pretty empty. They have a little parking lot which makes visiting super convenient. The restaurant itself is bright and spacious which is nice. Service is also very prompt and nice. I ordered scallion pancakes, and the hk bbq pork bowl as well as a Thai iced tea. Thai iced tea was good! Hard to mess that up lol Scallion pancakes were okay. The fry on it was perfect, crispy and flaky. Just not a lot of scallion flavor. Hk bbq pork bowl was okay as well. The soup didn't have much flavor besides just being salty. Bbq pork had some tender bits and not so tender bits. I will say serving sizes are huge, so it's really worth the money. My sister ordered the jiangxi spicy noodles, and a few of the noodles were super hard and uncooked :c Overall, it's okay! Id say their dishes are hit or miss. Someone else in my group ordered the yunnan rice noodles and she really enjoyed that.

horrible interpretation of a scallion pancake. greasy. thin and no filling.

Food: 2 stars Service: 3 stars Ambiance: 3 stars We came here with high hopes based on reviews. What a big disappointment, the food was! we ordered: spring rolls - 3 little rolls with a mushy filling of cabbage and a little bit of carrot. the tiny bit of garnish - pickled cabbage and julienned carrots - was tastier than the spring rolls Scallion pancake (if you can call it that!!) The ultra thin, flat, deep fried greasy thing they served was an insult to scallion pancakes! it has a few tiny flakes of green onion in it (see picture). Do not order this! they should be ashamed of themselves for serving that! Yangzhou stir-fry (Combo fried rice) was ok. it had 3 pieces of shrimp and some chicken. The dish was bland just like the other dishes above. we had to smother it in chili sauce to get any flavor infused in it. West Lake Dong Po pork belly - do not expect a dish as described in the menu (ginger and soy sauce braised pork belly). The sauce was basically a watered down version of the americanized, red sweet and sour pork flavoring. overall it was very disappointing. I had to apologies to my guest for the quality of food. We will not be coming back.

Always good to visit here for lunchtime! I tried their curry noodles for the first time per my coworker's recommendation. It was delicious. It's one of those menus that can't go wrong if you give it a try. Mildly sweet and creamy. Chicken and vegetables were clean and fresh. I like that they added rice noodles, which is easy to slurp. The portion size is always generous - enough for two lunches if you are a small lunch eater.

Start with tangyuan (gooey mochi balls filled with black sesame), deep fry them, and cover them with chili oil and spices. It covers almost all the tastes and textures (sweet, salty, spicy, fried exterior, gooey/chewy, with a liquidy filling). Only a mad genius could have come up with this dish and it works brilliantly. The rest of our dishes vary a bit each time we go, but it's usually some spicy dishes and at least a veggie dish. Really haven't had complaints on the food. A few watchouts - the parking lot next to the restaurant is not theirs. Street parking only. They also charge a nominal fee for takeout containers ($0.25/box) and a bag ($0.10/

FYI, the pan fried buns take a bit of additional time and come piping hot. I would wait a few minutes before eating, or check out a video on @yelpbayarea of how to eat soup dumplings! Another note, you order from an iPad that's handed to you upon arrival once seated. Make sure after you 'add items to cart' you submit your order. We left that step out and didn't realize until a few minutes later. Staff is friendly and make sure to ask if anything additional is needed like napkins, etc. Overall a fun experience, fair pricing, located in the hustle and bustle of the mall, and cool digs if you're looking for a comfortable dining experience without the frills.

Two members of staff were constantly fast-walking or running around trying to take care of all the guests. There was also another staff member who appeared to work pretty efficiently without running. They were very quick in decided what they wanted while we dawdled. In addition to our lunch plates, we were served Chicken Corn Soup first. Because we're greedy, we also ordered Ho Toa Tee Fuo Wonton Soup for the table. This is a deep-fried wonton in soup. The deep-frying changes the texture and flavor of the wonton in the most wonderful way. Everything came out relatively quickly and as expected. My Fish Fillet in Curry Sauce is not on the menu but still came out pretty good. I would have liked a little more sauce and some more heat, but I would order it again. The only thing I would suggest that they change is the rice that they serve. Not all long-grain rices' are of the same quality and some are simply more tender and absorbent of sauces which would raise the dining experience.

Last time, we got the $88 dinner and added three dishes. This time, I ordered the $168 dinner. I found out after I placed the order that instead of picking from the left side for the less expensive menu and the right side for the more expensive menu, we can select from either side for either menu! We also added one dish because my wife insisted that we needed more veg! Our server presented us with a bowl of House Soup. It was a great way to get our stomachs ready for the deluge of dinner about to happen! Whole Roast Duck - 3 - We had dinner the previous night at another Chinese restaurant and had a Peking Duck. It was odd that the Peking Duck was more moist than our Roast Duck. Yes, the fatty parts were fatty but the non-fatty parts were dry. Braised Beef Stew - 4 - Lots of beef. Excellent sauce. Missing Tendons and Daikon. Honey Walnut Shrimp - 3 - Even under the flavor of the sauce, I could tell that some of the shrimp weren't as fresh as they should be. No one else said anything so I let it go. Peking Rib - 5 - If I drank beer, this would be an excellent dish to nosh on while doing so. Crispy Fried Flounder - 4 - The flounder was okay, but the fins and tail didn't get super crispy so we could enjoy them as chips. The other thing that may have made it better for us might be a sweet and sour sauce. Chicken with Mixed Mushrooms - 4 - Yep, I'm a mushroom freak. I could care less about the chicken, but mushrooms? I'm there. Stir-fried Clams in Black Bean Sauce - 4 - These were okay. My wife said she got a bunch of empty shells. That happens sometimes. No idea what other people got. Chicken Chow Mein - 5 - got the skinny noodles fried soy sauce chow mein style. Yummy! Snap Pea Beef - 4 - Beef was tender. Could have used more snap peas. Overall, a decent dish. I also included pictures of the two "set" menus. Note that $88 comes with a 1/2 Royal Chicken while $168 comes with a whole Roast Duck. Service was okay. Food came in spurts. Soup. Wait. Two dishes. We ordered the small size chow mein and easily would have fed 5 people as well. However, the chow mein lacked flavor. I added soy sauce and it was better. The steak and mushrooms was very good and included 3 different types of mushrooms. Steak was nice and tender. The food came out so fast! In less than 20 minutes, we had every single dish that we ordered. My favorite dish was the Salted Egg Yolk Fried Chicken. The batter was light, very crispy, and seasoned to perfection. The chicken itself was juicy, piping hot, and kept me going back for more. The mala level in the Chonqing noodle dish was very beginner friendly. If you're looking for an intense numbing sensation with a "oh gosh maybe I should slow down" type of spice, you should ask them to make it more spicy.
