    Hunan Hot & Sour
    Mikala C.

I really enjoyed eating at this restaurant! There are lots of menu options. I ordered the hot and sour soup which was delicious and large enough to share with someone else or eat over multiple meals. I wish it was just a little bit spicier but, otherwise, it was cooked perfectly! Food here is also very affordable. The owner came by people's tables after dinner, which was really sweet. The staff here are so friendly and really want to ensure you enjoy your meal. If you're looking for quick, great service and a wonderful noodle or soup dish, check this place out. :)

Tastiest vegan noodle soup ! When take -out, the noodles & accompaniments are packaged separately so the noodles don't oral up the soup & get soggy ! These noodles are always al dente & chewy, the broth is so flavorful & the glute, carrots & mushrooms are so delicious ! There is a small complimentary fried peanut appetizer that is included ! The order whether to go or dine in is taken by a friendly knowledgeable server & is usually done in less than 10 minutes & carefully packed !! Water is offered while waiting - a nice touch !! The dining room is spacious & clean, calm music is played, the happy cat robotic server is ready to serve & so cute !! The owner is often there working & overseeing transactions - she is kind & thoughtful, Wen Yen !! Best noodles & best soup !! Tasty vegan selections !!

Nice Chinese fare. We got a group dinner reservation with a pre-fixed combo meal in their private dining room. Out of all the items, their Jiangxi noodle salad (House Special noodles) and the fried crab fell flat. The rest of the items were pretty good. At the end of our meal, the owner came, poured us complimentary red tea, and chatted with us--a pleasant experience

I had been curious about this noodle restaurant. The atmosphere was calm and pleasant. The dan-dan noodles were delicious. The service was also friendly.

I have been to their another location, but walked by today and decided to try. Saw the same owner and same menu. We ordered the things we normally would order at the other location. They all taste good. This place does not only give u good Chinese food, but also a place with good style. They will bring out the tea set, and their kids also work on the ground. The price is definitely on the higher side, in comparison to other Chinese places nearby. The place is cute, again, reflects 10 years ago of the Bay area.

I am a regular here and their rice noodles are delicious and consistently great quality! To my surprise, they started serving Dim Sum every Sunday starting today. I ordered several kinds and they are incredibly authentic and tasty. Also, the staff is very friendly. This place never disappoints!

Came for weeknight dinner and the space was pretty empty. They have a little parking lot which makes visiting super convenient. The restaurant itself is bright and spacious which is nice. Service is also very prompt and nice. I ordered scallion pancakes, and the hk bbq pork bowl as well as a Thai iced tea. Thai iced tea was good! Hard to mess that up lol Scallion pancakes were okay. The fry on it was perfect, crispy and flaky. Just not a lot of scallion flavor. Hk bbq pork bowl was okay as well. The soup didn't have much flavor besides just being salty. Bbq pork had some tender bits and not so tender bits. I will say serving sizes are huge, so it's really worth the money. My sister ordered the jiangxi spicy noodles, and a few of the noodles were super hard and uncooked :c Overall, it's okay! Id say their dishes are hit or miss. Someone else in my group ordered the yunnan rice noodles and she really enjoyed that.

I never leave reviews, but I was so taken back by this place. Food decor and staff all top notch! Great prices too. I'm a new regular.

horrible interpretation of a scallion pancake. greasy. thin and no filling.

Food: 2 stars Service: 3 stars Ambiance: 3 stars We came here with high hopes based on reviews. What a big disappointment, the food was! we ordered: spring rolls - 3 little rolls with a mushy filling of cabbage and a little bit of carrot. the tiny bit of garnish - pickled cabbage and julienned carrots - was tastier than the spring rolls Scallion pancake (if you can call it that!!) The ultra thin, flat, deep fried greasy thing they served was an insult to scallion pancakes! it has a few tiny flakes of green onion in it (see picture). Do not order this! they should be ashamed of themselves for serving that! Yangzhou stir-fry (Combo fried rice) was ok. it had 3 pieces of shrimp and some chicken. The dish was bland just like the other dishes above. we had to smother it in chili sauce to get any flavor infused in it. West Lake Dong Po pork belly - do not expect a dish as described in the menu (ginger and soy sauce braised pork belly). The sauce was basically a watered down version of the americanized, red sweet and sour pork flavoring. overall it was very disappointing. I had to apologies to my guest for the quality of food. We will not be coming back.

Always good to visit here for lunchtime! I tried their curry noodles for the first time per my coworker's recommendation. It was delicious. It's one of those menus that can't go wrong if you give it a try. Mildly sweet and creamy. Chicken and vegetables were clean and fresh. I like that they added rice noodles, which is easy to slurp. The portion size is always generous - enough for two lunches if you are a small lunch eater.

    Taiwan Beef Noodle Soup

Food is great. Service is nonexistent. I came on a Friday evening. The interior is well-decorated and it wasn't too busy. Tables were clean but all dirty dishes were stacked at the countertop. We were seated immediately and brought waters. That was the most of the friendly service. I got the Taiwan beef noodle soup and my friend got the Guilin beef tendon stew. To share, we got the spicy chao shou dumpling. These gave me more wonton vibes than dumplings. Ironically, the appetizer came last and the noodle dishes came first. Not a big deal. I really liked the Taiwan beef noodle soup. Good amount of tender beef and noodles. Soup was hearty. It's truly a comfort meal. My friend who got the beef tendon stew said it was also good but could've used a little more flavor/kick. The dumplings were overpriced and just ok. We re-purposed the chili oil it came in to add some spice to the noodles. The only times we interacted with our server was taking an order, dropping off the food and multiple attempts to wave down for the check. There were maybe only 4-5 other tables seated. Water was never refilled. My ?? moment was the fact that there were only 3 of us in the party and the guy put all the dishes at the end of the table and told me to push each dish towards the respective person. That was a bit odd. Overall, the noodles were good and well-priced. I would come back whenever I'm craving a comfort noodle soup dish.

Was craving noodles so I got take out from noodles fresh. They have a lot of variety on the menu from sweet to savory noodles, rice dishes, and appetizers. I tried to braised pork belly and two different noodle dishes. The braised pork belly was sweet and gingery, very juicy and yummy! I also thought the black bean noodles were flavorful and savory, loved the thick udon noodles it came with! The stir fried noodles were good but we asked for spicy and it didn't taste spicy at all. Still was jam packed with meat and veggies. Final note, the chili oil was super smoky and fragrant, again not spicy but went well with everything!

I used to go to Daimo regularly 25 years ago when I was living in Larkspur. Recently, I happened to be passing through on Easter Sunday around dinner time, so I stopped by at Daimo and got some takeaway for my wife and I. I want to mention particularly about the "dry scallop and egg white fried rice" that I ordered. My wife was pleasantly surprised with the quality and absolutely loved it. She said the fried rice was perfectly balanced and not greasy at all. I agreed with that conclusion. Happy Wife = Happy Husband. Whoever the chef was working on Easter Sunday, please don't change anything with that fried rice. It was perfectly balanced for us. I conduct a lot of taste testing as a foodie on Hong Kong style food. I also loved the "toss noodle" that I ordered. The noodle broth on the side with chives was authentic and tasty. I will return to Daimo this week and taste test the noodle broth and check for consistency. Once again, to the chef who made the noodle broth on Easter Sunday: please don't change anything with this noodle broth. We are living in Novato now . It is a bit further away from Larkspur, but we will certainly return to Daimo and sample all the other Hong Kong style dishes at very reasonable prices.

We finally made up our minds and ordered a huge spread: Spicy Chonqing Beef Noodles, Green Beans, Scallion Pancake, Salted Egg Yolk Fried Chicken Wings, Golden Crispy Pork Spare Ribs, and the Xiao Long bao. The food came out so fast! In less than 20 minutes, we had every single dish that we ordered. My favorite dish was the Salted Egg Yolk Fried Chicken. The batter was light, very crispy, and seasoned to perfection. The chicken itself was juicy, piping hot, and kept me going back for more. The mala level in the Chonqing noodle dish was very beginner friendly. If you're looking for an intense numbing sensation with a "oh gosh maybe I should slow down" type of spice, you should ask them to make it more spicy. When we walked in, no staff was out front, so we stood around a bit before we were seated. The staff quickly disappeared again, and throughout our meal, they were usually disappeared somewhere in the back. If you want something quick like extra utensils or napkins, you may need to wait a bit before someone appears. When ordering, we wanted to try both the Beef Buzz ($14.99) and the Fried Beef Buzz ($15.99). The lady who took our order said they were the same thing, and offered to just give us one half/half order instead of ordering two of essentially the same dish. We agreed to that offer, but she didn't mention anything about how that'll be charged. Of course, we ended up being charged the higher price of $15.99. Not a huge deal, but some better communication there would've been appreciated. We also ordered the Beef Huushuur ($14.99). The Beef Huuchuur arrived first, and it didn't look anything like we expected. The photos from online reviews all looked it'd come in an empanada shape, but it actually came in a large, flat, circular shape. They were all laying against one another in a slanted position, and it made all the oil pool in the bottom of the dish, and the pieces that were covered became very oily and soggy underneath. The parts of the dough that weren't soggy were wonderfully crispy and delicious though. It'd make a significantly better difference if the Huuchuur were placed spread out from each other instead of lying on top of each other to maintain the crispiness on all surfaces. The beef filling was nicely seasoned and well flavored. The Beef Buzz had essentially the same filling as the Huuchuur, but different exterior. Unfortunately, I still have the same opinions of it being way too oily overall. The non-fried pieces sometimes broke apart at the bottom due to the sogginess. The fried version did not have a crispy texture at the bottom either, I'm guessing due to the excess amount of oil on the dish. Again, the flavors were great, but execution and presentation definitely has room for improvement. In summary, this was a great introduction to Mongolian dumplings for me. Very delicious flavors, and I'd love to try Huuchuurs again in the future because I love crispy fried foods with a good texture. However, I'd probably look for a place that goes way more easy on the oil.
