Took my sister here for her birthday dinner celebration. We were told they have good Italian food; however, i never expected it to be as delicious as it was. The Calamari, the best I've ever had . My lasagna again the best I've ever eaten . My sister Libsyer ravioli was almost as good as my lasagna . I'm only sorry I forgot to take pics of our food. I was too hungry and just dug in. We were there for Happy Hour so the drinks were discounted and delicious, I had a mango margarita . Then came dessert Oh my gosh my sister was served tiramisu As you can quess, the best I've ever tasted. In addition to the delectable delicious food was the friendly attentive delightful Erika who was our server. She made our dining experience even more enjoyable. We told her it was our first time at the restaurant so she took really good care of us and telling us her recommendations when asked about certain entrees. This is an update to the review of 4 years ago. Francesca's is still going strong. We were seated upon arrival shortly before our reservation time. The restaurant was at near capacity at our departure. The food is excellently prepared and the service on point from our server Shawana. Our choices on this night were fried zucchini blossoms, lobster ravioli with shrimp and a house salad. The portions were large enough for two of us. The zucchini blossoms were crisp on the outside and creamy mozzarella inside. These are a must for me whenever they appear on a menu. The lobster ravioli with shrimp consisted pillows of goodness in a tasty vodka sauce. The house salad had a variety of fresh from the garden vegetables with a tasty vinaigrette. Francesca's is now on our must dining list when we are in Temecula. read more

We were in Temecula and craving Italian food and just happen to see Francesca's. We received a friendly greeting as soon as we came in and were seated right away. Our server Rhett did a great job!! He was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu! He asked questions to make sure he understood what we were feeling, and gave great recommendations. He was attentive and so friendly!! Thanks!! My wife and I ordered wine, the Misto appetizer and two pasta entrees - Penne Filet and Shrimp Scampi. All were great! We shared a dessert and took some leftovers with us. We have been going to Francesca's about every other month for the last few years. We just went a few days ago to see what it was like with the new ownership. It felt a little strange with all new staff. We really got to know the front of house staff and miss them, but are really glad they kept the cooks. Really loved Matthew our server -who also was doubling as the bartender - the evening we went. I would give this place 4 to 5 stars for his service alone, but I have to balance my rating with overall ambience and food - in comparison to other places. We both wanted the Montepulciano- I chose the Italian Varietal while my partner opted for the American version. The opening bread was good and crumbly w/ a nice touch of salt & buttery to the taste. The batter for the Zucchini Blossoms was good, but as I have had this dish in many other places, such as Cucina Urbana in Banker's Hill, Cucina Enoteca in Del Mar, and D'avanti Enoteca in Little Italy, etc. I would say it doesn't compare as well to how it is made elsewhere. Still a nice appetizer option for the locals who crave it. We went with Matthew's recommendations as for the entrees- I got the Penne Filet & my partner the Chicken Parmesan. He thought the Chicken Parm was good but not anything wow- although he is from the East Coast where Chicken Parm is done very well everywhere :) I liked that my Penne Filet was piping hot, and while tasty, I don't know if I would go back just for this one dish. The Cannoli was good to round out the meal, but alas no Americano or any comparable drinks to help with the finale. It would be nice if the restaurant could consider this (they just had a basic espresso machine). Love finishing Italian cuisine with a cappuccino and the likes. It is an older building with booths and cafeteria-like chairs. We loved how the bar area was busy when we walked in. It would be nice if they could update the interior but understand that can be costly. Overall, if you want an Italian option with nice food cooked to order, this is a local joint that may not be so obvious to the outsider eye (located in a shopping center where some businesses haven't been able to make it thru Covid-19 and real estate prices). read more

So I have lived close to this restaurant for years and I had never had a meal here because years and years ago they didn't have good reviews. Shame on me for not trying it for myself. Tonight I went there and I was pleasantly surprised. Started with a Caesar salad which was good. My husband had risotto which he really liked, good portion and very tasty. I had the carbonara pizza, it was good, but not great. There were only two servers, I do not blame restaurants for service taking awhile during COVID, so I knew it would take awhile. My server busted his butt, he was literally running between tables, the bar and the kitchen and he made it work. Felt so bad for him, left a hefty tip. Most importantly, we will come back. read more

The hubs enjoyed a glass of suggested house Cabernet that he thoroughly enjoyed. Boy! What a neighborhood gem. We have been here many times and it has always been good, even through the last couple of ownership changes. Last night however, something had changed. The food: we were encouraged to review the specials menu which we did and both of us ordered the Cavatellli Michelangelo which sounded fantastic. The description was Cavatelli pasta with mushrooms, fresh peas and pancetta in a tomato cream sauce. What we got was something else. It was cavatelli pasta with chicken in a sun dried tomato cream sauce. No mushrooms, no peas, no pancetta. I had the menu brought over to make sure I had ordered correctly and when I pointed out to the waitress that we had received something other than ordered, she told me that the description on the menu was wrong and that what was served was what it was supposed to be. Service: we arrived shortly after 5pm and were seated quickly. We felt rushed. We had ordered drinks and before they even came, we were asked about ordering dinner. Once drinks came, we were asked again about ordering. All in the space of about 10 minutes. On the positive side, another person in our party ordered the veal limone and it was very good and the Cesar salad we had was also very good as usual. They discounted our bill 15% and gave us a tiramisu but We are still perplexed regarding what happened with our main course. Disappointing. read more

We decided to try this Italian restaurant on a Friday evening. We called to make reservations. The gal said it was booked but we're welcome to walk in. We did and waited about 20 minutes for a table. Once we we sat down we were surprised to see that several tables were empty. They sat us in the front room but I'm pretty sure there's another section of tables behind that. The vibe was very cozy and quiet for a Friday evening. I was grateful for that. It's a simple but well decorated space. The servers were friendly and took our order promptly. I began with the Cesare Salad and hubby got their house salad. They were both generous portions and very fresh. Although I was a little disappointed to see my dressing on the side. Caesar salad is traditionally tossed before it's served. But it was delicious! I was hoping they'd serve some bread but they never did. For dinner I ordered the spicy shrimp and asked him to please have the cook make my shrimp well done. I explained that I'm not a fan of the quick two minutes on each side preparation. "Tell him I said to overcook it" were my exact words. My hubby ordered Pancetta wrapped Scallops. Both dishes were beautifully served and we were starving! The Scallops were amazing! My hubby was happy. My shrimp dish was delicious however, the shrimp were of course, undercooked. I didn't complain. I've learned not to make a fuss in these mom-and-pop establishments. It upsets everyone. Hubby enjoyed my shrimp and I loved the pasta and veggies. Overall it was a good experience and I will definitely try them again. For the pasta creations. Sadly, this wonderful restaurant, one of our favorite places of all time got sold off. We have been coming here for 6 years and through out the years the service and food has always been top tier delicious and amazing hospitality with zero complaints besides one time we had a horrible server and later she was fired which was great and the only time we ever faced any sort of dissatisfactions. With that being said here is how our recent visit went, the hostess greeted us with our asking if we had a reservation. No problem we thought, well upon sitting down at our table she immediately walked away. The busser who cleans tables was the person who got us water and was more attentive than the woman who later we found out was our actual server. We wanted to start off by ordering wine, she recommended a wine but throughout the explanation she wasn't listening to our preferences and got me and our other guest confused. She suggested a drink so we agreed to try it, we were not at all happy with the suggestion so we told her we didn't like it and we would order something else. After that she became nasty and had an attitude the entire time, she only visited our table 2 times and both of those times was only because the busser told her we needed her and the other was to get her attention yet again then she asked how the food was. The food was not at all what we were used to. They entirely changed the menu. There is too much chaos in their menu. Along with the drastic changes in the recipe and presentation. The regular complimentary bread was DRY and cold. Which was the first sign things were going to be bad. The lasagna which was their signature dish and my absolute favorite was no longer good. Internally the pasta was not cooked all the way so there were tough parts. Sure the portion size was bigger, however, the presentation was messy vs its traditional clean look. We ordered a chicken Alfredo to go for another family member and once we got home we found out the chicken was not cooked all the way. And they added an EXTREME amount of garlic into the Alfredo sauce, making the entire pasta dish inedible. Not to mention another dish my mother in law couldn't finish due to the sauce being overwhelming with salt. The server did ask us if everything was alright once she actually took the time to notice she barely even touched the food. How do we even begin to explain to the woman the food was bad when the experience was already sour? Well we decided to leave. Aside from being rude she was just very UN inviting and unpleasant to interact with. Our baby reached for a chemical covered rag in her apron that she proceeded to basically touch our child with by how close she was to the highchair and my child's shoulder. She snatched the rag saying don't touch me, I looked up, and she said oh it has chemicals I don't want her touching it. At this point I was over her nastiness. She should have never gotten that close to our baby and she should never have had a chemical covered rag in her apron considering she is handing out FOOD! The restaurant internally looks the same, however, the food, servers, and quality is just not there anymore. We spent over $240 including a tip she didn't deserve honestly the busser deserved it more than her. That gentleman was attentive and he was the one that had to tell the server to come to our table 3 times. Getting our check itself took 15 MINUTES! We will not be going back. I strongly advise to find another Italian restaurant because this one just went bad. Truly disappointing. They also DO NOT have changing tables in either bathroom, this is not a family friendly restaurant. Tasted the tiramisu we took home for dessert and well they changed the recipe and it's no longer good. Too much powder on top and the liquid they added to the base tastes like windex with coffee.
