Love dark with booths but this lounge is very small and so crowded that you can not hear the background music or conversation in your group. The servers very nice and attentive, Robert G was on top of the game and friendly. The drinks were okay, the sauvignon Blanc a little bitter and all except beer expensive. We ordered the clam chowder which was the special and was good and also the thumb bits which were delicious, the meat soft and tasty. Unfortunately my husband ordered a Reuben and it was a joke. Made on thin white bread, slice of meat and nothing of what a Reuben has inside and it was $15. Disappointment. read more

Jordan was great! Spicy margs were awesome, I love the ambiance and the music. Would go back again

They did a great job capturing the ambiance of the original without the grime. The food and drinks are right on point, too. A tiny bit of modernity mixed in to keep it fresh but faithful to the Fox's of old. Martini was served with a sidecar and as good as I remember. The peanut butter pie isn't the old one buuuut the new version is better. read more

Very disappointed , nothing like how it used to be. For starters , they didn't have a good amount of items on the menu, they said it was a limited menu for their opening. Then we tried ordering a few things from the already "limited" menu and they STILL didn't have 2 or 3 options from there. Food came out all scrambled. Ordered 3 French onion soups , 2 came out about 15 minutes later and the third came out when we were almost done with our entrees. Side salad never came for one of the entrees. Added a coffee to our tab that we didn't order... sadly disappointed... 2 stars is being nice food was sub par! read more

Ordered chicken Marsala Chicken was very dry has 6 mushroom pieces and no Marsala sauce !! Chef said this is how we make it! Had yellowtail filet with garlic and butter Was supposed to be a fresh filet but tasted frozen . There was a little hint of butter on plate and absolutely no garlic. Salad was nothing to talk about dressing was ranch and not good. The French onion soup was good but there cheese was inside the bowl instead of melted on top. The whole meal with Tip was $75. No drinks just water very disappointing This is probably a great place for drinks but not the food read more

Fox’s Lounge - Dive Bars Near Me - Miami, Florida

This is a lively and friendly bar in a rather desolate part of town, an oasis of fun and dance. Great staff and great drinks. Warm and cozy, classy and chic read more

We used to come to the original Fox's Lounge for many years, at least 30! So when they closed it was a sad day. We are so happy they are back, of course under new ownership. The new owners have done a very good job keep the menu close to the original. Not as dark and greasy, but still so familiar. Love that we can go back and continue great memories with the new lounge! read more

Ordered the churrasco with broccoli and tostones, it was delicious with my red wine. They only have 4 parking spaces available so we had to find parking. read more

Sat at 9:15 PM & ordered 2 drinks. 9:40... still no drinks. Told the waiter we were leaving his response "sounds reasonable". Don't go in unless you get a spot at the bar. read more

A recent date nite was anything but pleasurable at Fox"s. First my husband ordered dewars, they didn't have so offered something at a higher price. We ordered frog legs, they didn't have nor fried chicken, two of there 7-8 entrees. We settled for snapper and steak for myself with baked potato Food served potatoes cold, sent back, after finishing protein potatoes arrived just warm. Told server and he advised would tell chef. Got check (pricey), and chef sent out chocolate moose. Left Hungary and disappointed, never to return. read more

Great food, service and intimate environment. Used to frequent fox's prior to renovation and still a great place

Great spot. Good drinks. Good service. And the people watching is top notch. Great spot to grab a drink.

Fox's just reopened after 7 years. They claim that they have recreated the ambience of the beloved original that had been in this location Since 1946. They don't have a Happy Hour and say they are working on it! Everywhere in Miami has a Happy Hour. Their drinks are South Beach prices, my Martini was $15. Their food is over pticed. This was supposed to be a local saloon where everyone knew one another. You could not hear the music the acoustics were terrible. I was there on a Friday night. The bar was filled except for one seat which I took The rest of it had a fairly good crowd but within a very short time it began to empty out. I pointed this out to the manager who didn't seem to get it but was pleasant and offered to make my martini half price. BTW the food prices on the internet don't match the menu prices. Pay heed Fox's and understand the people who are your patrons or pretty soon you won't have any. read more

I've missed this restaurant since it closed. So many memories, friends and family now gone, special occasions not as special without our favorite place. We couldn't be more happy that it is finally opened again! Configured a little differently, but recreated to perfection. They clearly appreciate what we all loved before, and their goal is to keep old and new customers coming. We got the pan fried yellow tail and hash browns. It was great, but missing the garlic sauce. Maybe that's something they can bring back?! We got two orders of onions rings! No zucchini sticks with garlic sauce, but maybe they can bring that back too? Everything was great and we are beyond grateful for all the hard work, money, and love put into this project. Thank you so very much! read more

Me and my friends go-to spot for drinks. Love the ambiance and lighting and the employees are all wonderful. Bartenders are cool with a great vibe and make amazing versions of every drink. The food is okay but solid with any drink my favorite is the onion rings. read more

So disappointed. First try was week 3 and it was ok- not great, but wanted to try again. We were old faithful customers from the 70's and on, and so excited to hear of reopening. I asked for Grey Goose. Not available, then I ordered prime rib rare. It came out well done. At 7PM baked potatoes sold out!, Then peanut butter pie sold out! Next my husband ordered a med, rare Burger. Came out burned! No dijon mustard. My husband found his meal worse than sub par. The only reason I gave 2 stars was for the bartender, Cordial and a good Bartender. I could go on with more but will not bore you. I will not try again. on Thursday night at 7PM to have so much unavailable is inexcusable! And what was served was a 1(from 1-10). There are 25 reviews at this time and more than half are horrible so where do 4 stars come from? read more

We have missed Fox's and we're happy that a new version of this iconic bar/restaurant has opened. Very impressed with both the bar service, waiters and waitresses who seem experienced in what they do, and the food was very good. I agree the garlic sauce was missing and my husband missed the liver and onions. The bar area has ambiance and the drinks are good but maybe some Queen olives for the martinis would enhance the quality of the drink. Looking forward to returning for prime rib night. read more

Honestly, hated it from the second I walked in. I guess I should've looked on Yelp before going like I usually do, but my dad was so excited to go so I didn't even think to. The place is literally pitch black. It's grungy which is cool and apparently just as it used to be, but I personally hate eating in the dark. We walked in and didn't get greeted for at least 5 minutes by anyone at all. Once we did, it took about 20 minutes to be sat down. They're new and figuring it out, so I get it but we had to wait by the bathrooms which was pretty awkward. The menu was really different from what we saw online. They had some of the same options but very few. The menu was extremely limited to say the least. I usually have an overload of things I want to order wherever I go and this I couldn't choose because I felt like they didn't have any options and I'm the furthest thing from picky. My dad tried ordering the Reuben sandwich and the waiter wrote it down to send it in but proceeded to tell him that they didn't really have anything that goes in the sandwich besides the meat... pretty odd. I ordered the yellowtail with garlic butter and sautéed mushrooms and it comes with a side salad or soup. They didn't bring my side salad until after everyone was finished eating but I asked 3 times before it came. The yellowtail was really dry and when I asked for an extra side of garlic butter, I was told they ran out, which makes sense as to why it was super dry. The waiter was kind though. The lights were flickering almost the entire time. That's all I got. Won't be going back but if you're looking for nostalgia, have at it. read more

My favorite go to bar! I love it. I love everyone there. Food and drinks are great! It feels like going back in time.

Total rip off. Happy hour includes classic cocktails for $7. They have a list of classic cocktails which includes a Cosmopolitan. Ordered 2 and got a bill for $28. Told the bartender they made a mistake and he said no cosmos aren't included and whoever took my order should have told me. I explained I was perplexed because classic cocktails are $7 and cosmos are included on "their" list of classic cocktails so why not. He wouldn't budge and said nope only standard basic martinis. Last time I go there. Be clear from the start or make it right when you mess up. Not cool read more

Every now and then something unexpectedly delightful happens as it did this week. On Tuesday, Fox's Lounge in South Miami reopened under new ownership. Newly minted (by me ) hometown heroes, Randy Alonso and Chris Hudnall have resurrected the 76 year old institution after it closed down 7 years ago. The painstaking process involved making sure that the interior space was a time capsule of its former self. Red leather booths, black and white checkered floors and a near exact copy of the legendary bar occupy almost the same footprint of the old location. The windowless and perfectly dark bar rekindles the magic of the old Fox's. The menu and recipes are exactly the same and they are still served in the logo emblazoned restaurant china. Drinks remain stiff and the service is friendly. On this particular evening they were extremely busy and service lagged a bit(they are still ironing out a few kinks) but the food and drinks were great. Reservations on Resy are highly recommended as nearly 15 people were waiting outside as we walked in. The Kitchen closes at 11:00 PM and the Bar is open till 2:00 AM. Lunch starts at 11:00 AM 7 days a week. For long time customers the liquor window is closed (for now) and the jukebox isn't working just yet. Give them a couple of weeks and they should be firing on all cylinders. Thank you Randy and Chris for bringing back Old School magic to South Miami! Someone please give them a key to the city! read more

The old Fox's Lounge is back. I have not been back to this place in a long time and when I mentioned to a friend of mine to go back again I was informed, that Fox;s had closed. So, when I heard that Fox;s was being reopened again, I could not wait to go back. The new Fox's Lounge has been redone and way much nicer than the old one. Whomever owns this place did a good job of redoing the Lounge and I am grateful that someone with enough juice that is wanting to invest in one Miami's / South Miami's icon places for not just those that remember Fox's, but for the up and coming generations as well. Since I have been going back to Fox's, I have always had a great meal and great service. If one does make it to Fox's on a Thursday Night, which is Prime Rib Night, get there before 8PM or one may miss out on the Prime Rib because it go's fast. If one wants to experience a part of Miami's / South Miami's history with great food, service and drinks, one needs try out the new Fox's Lounge. read more

We went to Fox's actually for the first time and we both have lived nearly our entire lives here in Miami. Passed it driving on US1 probably a thousand times. Absolutely love this place! What a feeling when you step inside! We attended a Yacht Rock Miami event and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. We ate some appetizers and of course I had to try the Prime Rib. It was off the chain delicious. Drinks were well made and strong! We highly recommend this place especially when Yacht Rock Miami is putting on a show! See you next week! read more

These four stars are for Sebastian at Fox's. He is a gem of a server! His attentiveness creates a welcoming atmosphere, making you feel like Fam. The food is REALLY BAD ! We loved the original place and was excited to try it so we did TWICE ! both times we were equally disappointed they just are not producing quality food. It came out like goulash no flavor. Several of the items I asked for we're not even available. And the whole vibe changed but yeah , it's still dark that's about the only thing that remained. Don't waste your time on money. (We actually went somewhere else to eat afterwards) read more
