It is possible that the vibe of Sunset Tavern will not change much, but as we all know, it may never be the same. Sunset Tavern is one of those few places where it is just as good to go in the morning for a Bloody Mary and enjoying the scenery of South Miami, as it is to go at night, drink a beer and watch a live band perform. The ambiance is casual, the service is up to the challenge, and the price is reasonable. As the matter of, I went to Sunset Tavern last night. The name of the band playing was Electric Mayhem and they were absolutely outstanding. The energy and the chemistry between the band members, the song selection, and the talent of the musicians was off the chat. I have never been so mesmerized by a local band before, and I plan to go back and see them again. They perform in Sunset Tavern the first Saturday of every month. But as I was watching the band, I took a look around. So many memories within those walls. I will miss this location.

I proceeded to walk inside and I found a seat at the bar and I sat there. There were some people in there and I definitely wouldn't say it was dead, but it also wasn't crazy busy. There was three people working one lady with red shorts and curly hair another lady with blue pants and straight hair and then a short guy. I later seen a taller guy as I was leaving, he was not involved in my experience. The lady with the straight hair and the guy were on the side I was on they kept walking past and at no point seeing if I wanted anything, I know some bars you have to get the bartenders attention instead of them checking what you want so after 8minutes, I attempted to get the female's attention a few times for a few minutes and it did not work (she did serve other people during that time and was having conversation with ppl). Eventually, the lady with curly hair came to my side to make someone on her side's drink. I asked if I could order a drink and she motioned to give her a minute. She went back to her side, made the person's drink, then took some new orders from people and made their drinks and served beers.I waited over 6 minutes. Eventually she came to the side I was on and took the order of the person sitting directly to my right, completely ignoring me. At which point I concluded I was not going to get any service in this establishment and decided to leave after a total of 17 minutes of sitting at the bar and being completely ignored. I try to self reflect and think if I did something to warrant this treatment but I couldn't think of anything. The only thing that makes me feel slightly better is there was a guy sitting to my left that had a cup already and he kept trying to get her attention and she seemed to be avoiding him. I'm not sure if everyone was avoiding him for some reason and I was just unlucky for sitting next to him. I hated the feeling that this experience left me with and I hope no one else has this experience. The DJ was pretty good, even playing a few minutes of Reggae which surprised me. I ended up going to the Seminole Classic Casino and got service as soon as I sat down. The DJ was playing R&B and I ended up tipping him he was so good.

We recently decided to try out this long-standing gem for the first time before catching a movie nearby, and it exceeded our expectations! Even though this restaurant has been a staple in the area for years, we're so glad we finally made it in. The ambiance was perfect for a dinner date--warm, intimate, and inviting. We shared a few plates while enjoying their perfectly crafted drinks. The menu had a great variety of options, and everything we tried was delicious. It was the ideal setup before heading to the movies. What really made our night special was the incredible service, led by the fantastic manager. They ensured everything ran smoothly, checking in with us and making sure we were having a great time without ever being intrusive. We can't believe we waited this long to visit, but we'll definitely be returning! If you're looking for a place that's stood the test of time with great food, drinks, and top-notch service, this is it. read more

I've enjoyed this place in the past for its drinks, food, and vibrant music, but my recent visit was disappointing. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what I had previously enjoyed. I was served the wrong drink, which had olive water, and the Ray' Steak Sub came with a different bread and less steak than what I remembered. The salad was served in large wedges with what seemed like mayonnaise instead of the usual Caesar dressing. When I raised my concerns, I was simply handed the bill with no effort to address the issues. I brought my mom and sister here for the first time, and it was disheartening to see the quality slip on this occasion. I hope this was just an off night, as I've had much better experiences in the past. read more

Fox's Lounge has a cool, almost dive-like ambiance that sets the tone for a laid-back evening. The dark lighting and great music create a chill and nice vibe. While it can get a little loud, it's not so overwhelming that you can't enjoy an intimate conversation. The food and drinks delivered, my steak and wine were spot on. The menu is not huge but offers some interesting options. Service was also attentive and friendly. This place feels like it has a history and if the walls could talk, they'd probably share some fascinating stories. All in all, Fox's is a great spot to unwind and enjoy good food and drinks in South Miami. read more

Fox's Lounge is a decent spot to grab drinks, especially if you appreciate a dive bar aesthetics. It retains the dark, cozy atmosphere of the original establishment, which is a plus. However, the limited seating can make it feel cramped, especially during busy hours. While the drinks are enjoyable, the food definitely needs some work. It didn't quite live up to my expectations, and I felt like the original vibe that made this place special is missing. I might give it another try in the future, but for now, it's just an okay experience. read more

I recently stopped by Fox's Lounge and had an amazing experience! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with comfortable seating and a warm ambiance. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure I had everything I needed. But the real star of the show was the food and drink menu - I tried the signature burger and it was cooked to perfection, and the craft beer selection was impressive. Overall, I'd highly recommend Fox's Lounge for a night out with friends or a relaxed evening with a great meal. 5 stars and I'll be back! read more
