We contacted Local Roots, and they were able to schedule a service call the very same day. Our technician, Ideal, was fantastic to work with. He took the time to walk us through what was going on with the unit, even taking photos to clearly show us the issues. He explained his recommendations and quickly resolved the problem. Within about two hours, we had cool air flowing throughout the house again. The entire experience--from scheduling the appointment, to the communication before Ideal arrived, to the repair itself and the follow-up afterward--was smooth, professional, and incredibly easy. As an added bonus, the repair ended up costing less than we had anticipated, which was a pleasant surprise. We truly appreciated the prompt service and transparency. 2/17/25: Quick history - our unit is about 8 yrs old, installed by Goettl. We have had issues w/…read morethem from day one. Be it poor communication, to misinformation, to techs not putting the fuses back into the box. Needless to say, we have experienced a lot of crap w/ them. Their latest? They wanted $473 to fix/replace the whip, which apparently covers the wires outside (see photo). They didn't "want to scare us" but said it's a fire hazard; they told us this after doing their inspection, then sitting in their van for about 15 minutes -- it felt as if they were simply out there, planning their latest scheme to bilk us out of money. Needless to say, after this latest scare tactic, we opted to get a second opinion with REEis A/C. Whoa, what a difference? REEis sent out James, who was very friendly, clean, professional, NO SCARE TACTICS. :-) He jerry rigged (or should I say James rigged) the whip, simply pushing it back up into place. Who knew it was that easy? It didn't stay that way, but more on that later. James did point out that our dryer lint was blowing back into the house & building up (something Goettl never pointed out, insert angry emoji). A couple weeks later, we made the appointment to have James come back to clean the dryer vent and try again w/ the whip, as it fell back down. The whip he simply zipped into place with two zip ties. I imagine that won't last forever, especially in the AZ brutal summers, but at least it will give us time to save up money until we opt to have REEis replace it. Whew! The dryer vent was Nasty w/ a capital N. He cleaned that out lickity split. I must say, our dryer seems to be operating much more efficiently since then -- and now we know to call REEis in another 3-5 yrs to have it cleaned out again. James did mention their membership rate during his first visit but he did not apply any pressure at all to try to get us to sign up -- which is very much appreciated, and is one of the reasons why we are going to cancel Goettl's stupid Sadie membership and get on with REEis.

NO ONE SHOWED UP, customer service has one woman working (Jenn) who did what she could but she can't contact techs or any of her managers. We have now been without A/C for 48 hours plus AFTER spending $2k and being told the A/C would be fixed yesterday. Not 24 hours, not excellent care, just a bunch of overpriced services performed by people who do not want to work and do not care about lying to customers. Go anywhere else in the valley. However, their last charge included $375 for a capacitor. I am an engineer that understands electronics and have friends in HVAC. I know for a fact that these capacitors cost less than $35 MAX. Perhaps a custom capacitor for NASA or military would be that expensive but there's NO consumer grade capacitor that would cost this much. If you research online you'll fund that an Amrad Engineering Turbo 200 Capacitor retails for as little as $75 and I KNOW they wholesale fort much lower.
