It is time to eat crow so pass me a big ole fork. I am amending/updating my previous review of one star to 4 stars. Brandon did a tremendous job of personally coming to our home to troubleshoot our A.C. vibration problem. He came up with a few shock absorbing hanging mechanisms to hang our pot rack from. I said I could manage from here and thanked him. The next morning there was more hardware than required for the job I was going to do. Brandon took it upon himself to source and hand deliver the hardware to our home! I didn't give 5 stars only because we had to live with the vibrating pots and pans for 9 months. As I am writing this I am chowing down a gluten free/nut free cookie basket that was sent by Hobaica following a (rather large) plumbing/bathroom remodel agreement. So far (project is still under way) they have delivered consistent, friendly and reliable services. I have used a couple of other companies in the valley and so far I really do "lika Hobaica" (their catchy tag line). I feel like the value for the cost is well weighted -- let's be real, replacing old pipes is a labor intensive job so I get it. I have also used Hobaica for A/C services -- purchased a couple of mini spits for areas of my house that weren't getting enough A/C/heat -- They are fantastic and cool/heat my office to absolute perfection. I have also used them for electrical services -- so they pretty much do it all, which is very convenient. So far I have been very pleased with the service. read more

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was bad enough that I feel obligated to warn others. I scheduled multiple appointments with this company, and not once did they show up as promised. No call, no heads-up, no explanation--just complete no-shows. I rearranged my schedule more than once to be available, only to be left waiting around with zero communication. Trying to follow up was just as frustrating, with repeated calls going nowhere and no accountability on their end. At a minimum, you expect basic professionalism--showing up when you say you will or at least calling if something changes. Unfortunately, that standard was not met here in any way. We have hundreds of air conditioning specialists in Arizona, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you value your time and want reliable service. read more

Dear Hobaica Leadership, Our recent experience with your team has made us Hobaica customers for LIFE. It started with a routine A/C check from technicians Justin and James at the end of July. Not only did they provide the excellent service Hobaica has always delivered in the past, Justin also educated us that our service package included a free plumbing inspection. Justin, Kyler, and...Corey (??? - I'm mortified I can't find the post it note where I wrote down everyone's name) arrived within just a few days...we had no idea the positive impact this visit would have on our day-to-day lives. My husband and I knew when we bought this home 10 years ago that eventually there'd be plumbing issues. The house was built in 1999, there's never been a water softener, the master bathroom shower has *never* had strong, consistent water pressure and let's just say the previous owners were...creatively thrifty in how they "fixed" things. Bottom line: the plumbing was a hot mess. The inspection yielded worse-than-expected dismal results: a shower leak in the guest bathroom, a toilet that was begging to be put out of its misery, old/frozen valves for the washing machine and almost all the sinks and toilets, a sprinkler system plumbing issue AND no pressure in the master shower. I also managed to sneak in an inquiry about installing a water softener system - something I've wanted for YEARS. Enter Kyler: the man with the patience of a SAINT. OF. A. SAINT. And the knowledge, kindness, listening skills and follow-through like no one I've ever seen. I'm a nurse of 15 years and a legal nursing consultant - let's just say I'm a person that shows up with LISTS of detailed questions. Not only did Kyler go above and beyond to provide answers ASAP, but he also managed to build an incredible amount of trust with us in a short amount of time and never made us feel like a bother, no matter what we threw at him. LEGEND. On a sweltering August day, we watched Diego and Cesar do the work of 5-6 people; they worked tirelessly. It was ASTONISHING. It was almost super-human how hard they worked and were still patient/kind from the moment they pulled up to the moment they left nearly 12 hours later. Also, a shout-out to Jose who came by for the awesome wall-patching and finish work - it looks great! As expected with anything as tricky as plumbing, a few unexpected complications arose. Kyler was immediately available and took such great care and responsibility to make sure everything was resolved quickly AND to a standard of perfection we weren't even expecting. Again, many kudos to Diego and Cesar for finding a way to squeeze this work in unexpectedly. We were in awe seeing the amount of work they did in such a short amount of time. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Martin, our plumbing scheduling mastermind. With the complications/multiple visits needed, we spent quite a bit of time on the phone. He fielded more of my complicated questions and if he didn't know the answer, he made it his mission to find out right away. Stellar, stellar human being. While this might be the everyday routine of the Hobaica pros, this whole experience was actually very personal to us. It's our 15th wedding anniversary and we've been saving all year to take our first trip to Europe...a lifetime dream for both of us. There was no question by the end of the plumbing inspection that the Eiffel Tower would have to wait and that these repairs were a priority for the longevity and comfort of our home...And we have ZERO regrets. January 6, 2026, Hobaica performed Preventive Maintenance service on my Lenox Unit, and I was pleased with the results. The Technician was methodical and knowledgeable in performing the service. He replaced a worn contactor and suggested I install a start-assist component to save wear and tear on the compressor start-up. I briefly researched his suggestion and agreed to have him install the component. We had Hobaica come install new unit. They get one star for this because that service was great. The sales person is a HARD sales, talks fast and ok friendly. However a year later after paying for a ten year warranty we get billed 249.00 to keep our warranty active because we are supposed to have them come check the plumbing and electrical in our house. WHAT. How does that keep my HVAC warranty active. I don't want them doing plumbing and electrical. It is a huge scam to say you have to let us inspect your plumbing, sewer and electrical in order to keep my warranty on the HVAC valid. However they said if we didn't our warranty won't stay up to date. I am angry to say the least and I won't recommend them to anyone. We use them at work too and I will make it my mission to find a new company. read more

The Lennox unit this company installed in my home is only 3 years old and already failed. What followed has been a nightmare of conflicting diagnoses, inflated labor quotes, and dismissive treatment. Within six weeks, the company gave me two opposite diagnoses: First, they told me it was the piston and quoted $2,200 in labor. Later, they said it was the compressor and quoted $3,200 in labor (after a "$500 discount"). Here's what matters: pistons don't just "go bad." The only way they clog is if contamination entered the system during installation or from a manufacturing defect. Lennox technical support even told another technician that calling it a compressor failure in this situation was basically a "wild guess." At the same time, a 10° split across the filter dryer was recorded -- another sign of contamination, not a bad compressor. When I questioned this, the manager (Ronnie) told me: "Obviously you trusted the other guy, you are welcome to go with them." That was their "customer service" in the middle of 110° Arizona heat with my kids and pets in an 85° home. What makes this worse is the pattern: the company has over 6,000 google reviews but almost no 2, 3, or 4-star ratings. The few 1-star reviews that do exist describe the exact same issues I went through, inflated labor costs, misdiagnosis, and rude responses. This isn't just one bad repair, it feels like a business model built on taking advantage of people when they're desperate. read more

From the very start to the end, I cannot be more happy or satisfied with Hobaica. Adam, Brandon & Jesse who came out as scheduled to install my new HVAC system replacing my old system could not have been more wonderful, skilled, courteous, caring and efficient. They all worked extremely hard, clean and made sure to keep me updated along the way and answered my many, many questions. They all treated me and my home with the utmost respect. I have been a customer with Hobaica for about 25 plus years and they installed my last unit plus serviced it through the years extremely well. They always call to confirm appointments, arrive close to the appointment times (if delayed which is rare and when it does happen they always communicated with me so I'm aware what is happening), do the work quickly, well, cleanly, completely and always fully test the system to make sure the system works to my full satisfaction before they leave. When Adam, the installer on this project, who was the last to leave, there was not a single piece of debris as he had cleaned up after himself: swept and picked up everything. I cannot be happier with Hobaica, the staff and with regards to this latest engagement, especially with Brandon, Jesse and Adam. It is 100% evident they each take full pride in their respective jobs and worked as a team seamlessly. To be honest, I cannot say enough fantastic things about them and Hobaica. They did not just install a new HVAC system but wholly gave me full peace of mind and a feeling of safety to be well-prepared for the seasons whether cold or hot. I know my HVAC system will be perfectly ready to handle our AZ summer heat in particular. Adam is the tech who performed most of the technical work on this installation and he is SUPER AWESOME. Brandon is the Installation Manager who also is FANTASTIC helped Adam with the removal of the old unit and seating of the new system in conjunction the crane operator as my unit is on my roof top. Jesse is the FABULOUS Customer Service Representative who worked closely with me these past few months and I had requested he also be here so l can meet and thank him for his great care after me. Hobaica management gave him permission to be present for a portion of the installation for which I'm extremely grateful for. Melissa and Tim whom I typically first speak with when I call are so efficient, kind and nice: they set up my appointments and answer all general questions. If not able to, they transfer me to the right person who can help me. For regular service work, what I like is that they try their best to send out the same tech so we can then have an on-going professional relationship. Words can never fully express how grateful, happy and satisfied I am with Hobaica. I highly and without any reservation recommend Hobaica to anyone needing any HVAC service, installation or snug the other home services they offer. I have not yet tried any of their other services but given my experience with their HVAC teams, I would not hesitate to call them for any other service needs I may have. Scott came out to look at my twenty year old unit that was struggling with 100 degree temperatures...he cleaned the unit and showed me a video of the internal components and detailed their current condition...not good...Andy Hobaica came by later and explained my options and pricing for a new unit...today Gio did the installation...a roof mounted unit on a flat roof that required a crane for removing the old and setting the new...all three men could not have been more professional, friendly and knowledgeable about their work...I highly recommend. read more

Beware!!! Price Gouging! We bought 2 heat pump units just over 3 years ago from Hobaica. $19k. One of the units had the indoor blower motor malfunction. Hobaica came out and diagnosed the problem. Quoted me $2200.00 to replace it. I Confirmed the part is covered under manufacturer warranty. Tech advised the $2200 is for labor. I asked how long it takes to install.....2 HOURS. He told me 2 techs for 2 hours each = $2200 for labor. Buyer beware! We decided to use a different company who is also licensed & bonded, they are charging $300.00. A difference of $1900.00 unbelievable!!! We talked to Hobaica service and asked for service manager Ronnie to call us back. Service desk said there is no way to lower the price. Manager Ronnie never called back. I Confirmed that Hobaica sold and is no longer locally family owned, wow does it show! I do not recommend using Hobaica. read more

We had a new 5-ton HVAC system on the roof of our home. The installer arrived promptly at 8am and had the entire job finished by noon. Gio is the young man's name, and he was professional and well mannered. He explained every thing he would be doing, and went over the new thermostat with us when the install was complete. He also did an excellent job of cleaning up the area around the unit, where a lot of leaves had collected under the old unit. We were very pleased with his work. read more

This is not a family owned business!!! This nightmare started June 9, 2023. They were here to inspect and do maintenance on my ac unit. It was ok but had a part that was going bad. On the 18th (Sunday) the unit was making a horrible metal scraping noise. I called the office number and the guy absolutely blew me off. He also did not follow through with the office. After waiting all day Monday I called them. Someone came out on Thursday 22nd. He explained what the problem was which had nothing to do with the part that was going bad. He gave me a price for the fix and I opted to speak to the sales guy the same day. I chose to buy a new unit. The sales guy said they could possibly do the install tomorrow which was Friday. He said he would let me know. Friday noon there was a Crane in front of my house. The sales guy never followed through. June 23rd the new unit was installed. Half a** installation!!! They were here 8 times to correct issues. They left a huge gap on the roof connection which was blowing cook's air into the universe. This was after the "quality control inspection?". On December 3rd, I turned the heat on. It blew cold air. This also after the "quality control inspection?". I do NOT recommend Hobaica services. This is a joke of a company. River explained what my service visit would entail and gave me a timeframe which I appreciated. After the service he provided me with photos and a detailed report on our unit- and what we might need to consider as our unit ages. Jared also informed me that me of the upcoming changes with Freon and how it might impact us in 2025. Both young men are very communicative, informed, friendly and professional. George Espinoza of Hobaica Services worked on our Master Cool that is experiencing an intermittent leak. He was unable to reproduce the problem but went thru the cooler with a fine tooth comb and identified a few problem areas that he brought to my attention. He also checked the input valve do determine that it is not leaking causing the overflow. He did identify that the purge pump had failed and needed to be replaced. I have already ordered a new one and will have it installed as soon as it arrives. That in it self should not have caused the problem but it is essential to keeping the pads free of excess calcium. It is obvious from talking to him that he knows a great deal about the master cool and knows their weak points as well as their strength. He is a real asset to Hobaica Services. read more

Very professional and crazy knowledgeable (a very good thing) about a/c in general. He already made it better and will be back with the right parts to fix the issue. Edit: Ronnie called about the review and pressured us to remove it trying to bribe us with a refund. A refund would be the bare minimum. He tried to guilt trip us and make us feel bad. This seemed to be the standard practice. I don't think you can trust the lack of negative reviews for this company. They called me within minutes to ask me to take it down. He said we were lucky not to have been charged over $200 for 2 AAA batteries. Which was never communicated to us at the time. Baffling experience. I do not know where the other 5 star reviews came from. We called them because we needed a Trane Certified technician. We explained the error codes we were getting and the front desk was extremely helpful. They said they would have a Trane Certified Sr. Technician out to take a look at the system. Bihn did not seem to know much about HVAC in general let alone Trane. He tried to stand on our furniture rather than get his ladder. We had to ask him multiple times not too. He refused to get his ladder from upstairs and we had to get ours from the garage. He had to google the error codes we had and even after reading the reference documents had to ask us what the codes meant. In the end, we were charged $20 (with a coupon) for him to replace 2 AAA batteries in a sensor (he asked us to use our own). Incredibly unprofessional. We will be reporting Hobaica to Trane to request an audit because there is no way Bihn is certified to work on these units and we will be requesting a refund or charge back because we did not receive the agreed upon services. read more

They came out for a recent service call and told me the compressor died. They told me I could buy a $500 one "that tends to go out and lasts maybe a year" or a $700 one that works great. I'm sure this is an egregious price gouge but I don't want to look it up to maintain my sanity. The technician attempted to use scare tactics to pressure me into buying a more expensive compressor. Why are you selling a product to customers that purportedly "tends to go out and break"? And that product is $500? Taking advantage of customers in this economy especially, disgusts me, and will be going elsewhere with my business next time. read more

Hobaica replaced our AC unit and we had a great experience. Getting a quote was super easy and Simon was very informative when going over everything with us. He gave us some time to consider our options and was on top of it when we called back giving him the go ahead. Installation day was smooth sailing. Hobaica had everything covered and timed out perfectly, including coordinating the crane that was needed to get the new unit on our roof. All of the technicians on site were friendly and efficient. After a few weeks, they sent out a technician to do a quality inspection. He was able to tighten up a loose piece and was extremely friendly too.
