On July 15 of 2026 I had American home and water come out after a storm and diagnosed two of my…read moremini splits, one of which they installed in 2025 so it's still under warranty and keep in mind labor is not under warranty and that's fine. It was a call in the evening not too late around 8 PM and a technician came out and she quickly diagnosed that one of my systems was the outdoor fan and the other one was the compressor. I did not agree with her diagnosis and so I had another company come out and they diagnosed it differently and I told the American home and water what the diagnosis was and had them come out and do a second opinion and they said you're right it is the control board. Please keep in mind that this unit is under warranty and it has been almost a full month and I've had one call made to me about the status of the warranty claim and the replacement part and in the meantime, I went with another company to have this repaired under warranty. Two reasons I'm writing this review; number one the technician that diagnose my systems was completely wrong originally and I was able to get it fixed quickly using another company and while I'm still waiting for this company to be in contact with me about the replacement part under warranty. I hate writing this because they've had great service early on and it's a disappointment that their customer service is now what's making me write this. I had to call three times originally to get an update.

So, I was getting a new dryer and decided it would be a good time to clean out my dryer lint vent…read more I ordered a kit with a round brush and some flexible rods that you attach to a drill and feed through the vent to clean out the lint. Sounds simple enough, right? So the flexible rods that screw together unfortunately separate while I'm using the drill and the brush and several of the rods are stuck inside the duct. I watch a YouTube video explaining how to remove it (it apparently happens frequently) by buying additional rods and attaching a "corkscrew" made from a wire hanger which you feed into the duct by hand to hopefully "grab" onto the brush and pull it out. You guessed it, that got stuck too. I called King Air Duct Cleaning and Lance (the owner) assured me that he understood the issue and he would be able to squeeze me in so I could start using my new dryer. Lance was here this morning and he was amazing. Within 20 minutes he had both of the pieces removed from the duct and all of the built-up lint cleared. Then he hooked up my new dryer, tested the airflow and assured me everything was good to go! And the cost was about 1/3 of what I thought it would be! Highly recommended!!!

They also provided a professional, accurate, and detailed estimate while clearly telling me what might cost more once they get in there (e.g. leveling the floor). Other companies either gave me really rough verbal estimates or overly specific (& wrong) estimates. Communication with the guys is fantastic. The work was done with the kind of craftsmanship I expected from my meticulous grandpa (that is.. they know what they're doing and do it properly!) I contacted The Top Hatter to have my heating & air conditioning ducts cleaned. Called, Steve explained the service and cost, I made the appointment, done. Two very nice young men arrived on time, took a look at the house and got straight to work. They knew exactly what they were doing, answered my questions and they were very professional. After about 30 min two other young men, who were in the vicinity showed up to help. They worked as a team, got the work completed, cleaned up and it was as though they were never there. All of the vent covers were cleaned by hand, ducts were cleaned and sanitized including the A/C unit in the attic and the return. WOW! Great job. I would recommend to anyone interested in this service who wants to have a reliable, reasonable, professional and complete duct cleaning service for their home. He educated me on why it is important to do this service and how the service is done. He offered reasonable prices over the phone so we scheduled my appointment. The crew called before arriving and then arrived early. They took the time to look around and add further education as to what they would do. All of the guys were professional, and I had no worry about having them in my home. I saw the results of why I needed to have my ducts cleaned I was surprised at what we had been breathing. We just bought a house that had recently been upgraded and flipped and we were concerned about the A/C system being dirty from all of the construction work, etc. This company was recommended by our realtor. Wow! They gave an excellent quote over the phone based on the square-footage of the house. We explained that this larger property had 3 A/C systems with associated returns, not just one. They said no problem, and they stuck to the bid. They showed up on time with two people. They were very courteous and did a thorough job. A third man showed up with a larger truck-mounted vacuum to clean the returns. They were here a few hours and did not stop until all of the duct work was vacuumed and scrubbed clean. Very professional service, at a reasonable price. We will call them again in a couple of years for a maintenance cleaning. read more

Couple small complaints, one being that we had scheduled for a Sunday afternoon, it ended up getting pushed to Monday at 11am because of their Sunday job lasting longer than expected, which was okay considering Sunday was a day of request anyways. However, I got a call Monday morning at 9:50am saying they would be there in 20 minutes. 50 minutes earlier than scheduled wasn't something I could accommodate for, but they thankfully pushed it out to 10:30am. However then arrived at 10:45am. So the timing overall wasn't a great start. Lastly, the pricing seemed agreed upon and clear in the beginning, but I was told I wouldn't receive the 15% off because that was only for additional services, not the entire service. On yelp it does state it's 15% off for new customers and I didn't see any fine print stating otherwise. I also confirmed I would be getting the 15% off through messages, but I guess they have an AI bot and that's who I got my response from, which then made my 15% off invalid. Nonetheless, the guys were understanding and accommodating which I appreciate and did apply a discount. Overall, I am happy with the service and pricing provided, I just wish it was a smidge more seamless throughout.

These are the things that help make this steam cleaning last twice as long, and they are affordable. The service providers Manuel and Diego were personable, showing up and getting right to work assessing and explaining the process and options available. They finished the job quickly, and left no trace even though the job itself does have a sort of splash zone. Thank you Apex!
