I read every review- EVERY REVIEW- before our show. I walked in Friday night totally psyched, because this was looking to be a pretty hilarious experience. The theater is smallish, I expected more of a comedy club layout, not the case, rather a small theater seating situation that is first come, first serve. So get there early, we arrived 30 minutes early and were stuck in the second row from the top. They have a bar, the bartender is nice, so there's that. I really wanted to like this show. Like, I'm a comedy addict, and everyone said it's hilarious so I was trying to laugh out of sheer will power, but dude, what? DISCLAIMER: I have no doubt what these guys do on a regular basis is very hard, and they seem be super talented guys. Everyone has an off night and you can't please everyone. This is literally just my experience as a comedy nut who paid $20 a ticket to watch the show. First, a lot of this show felt scripted. Like they were really forcing the randomness of the audience interaction to comply with their pre-arranged bit. And what resulted was desperate and unnatural. To the point where I think the only people laughing were the friends of the exact person involved in the skit. Second, the songs were boring. The music and sound effects guys was great, but the actual singing and whatnot that they did? My eyes glazed over, and unfortunately, this was about 40%of their act. It was like watching three guys try and come up with a song using words that rhyme with "orange." Third, if you are under, I don't know, 40? 45? You won't get some of the references they make in this show. Fourth, the constant nagging for us to engage with them in Facebook during the show (even though they said like 50 times to not have our phones out because it was distracting?) was DISTRACTING. if I wanted to play on Facebook, I can do that for NOT $20 at home. Lastly, the intermission was a little unnecessary. While I greatly appreciated the chance to grab more liquor before continuing with this show, I was disappointed to come back to my seat after paying $29 for drinks to only ONE more act and then it's over. Alright, I feel like a dick but yeah, not really the show I was expecting. There were some moments that I thought were pretty funny, and I'm thankful for them. I was 17 years old when I first went to Four Day Weekend. (Now I'm 32). As juniors in high school, we worked down the street from 4Day at Pangburn's Chocolate Company (which is now Jamba Juice). Since it was the first year of 4Day, we would do trade-outs. Candy/Chocolate for tickets. And we went all. the. time. So it was nice to come back a LOT of years later for the Yelp Elite event last night and see a lot of the same hilarious men in the cast. They hadn't lost an ounce of their funny. I don't ever venture out to Fort Worth, but apparently, I am missing out on some places. This is one of my favorite comedy places now, and I would have not known it existed if it wasn't for a yelp event. I will be coming back! The comedians base their show off of post it notes given from the audience and phrases from the audience, it was hilarious. They were very interactive with the audience, and a few people even got picked on to participate in a few of their acts. Be prepared to be put on the spotlight! My twin was spotlighted. I had several belly laughs here, and my stomach hurt by the end of the show. They have a small bar here where you can order cocktails and bring them inside with you. These guys are the best. I've seen a lot of improv comedy troupes and I honestly think Four Day Weekend is as good as it gets. They aren't pretentious, they are very creative, they know how to "wake up" a dead audience, and they are genuinely nice guys. A lot of times, they'll hang out in the lobby and chat with the audience over a couple beverages. If you've never seen an Improv troupe, go see these guys. And bring a bunch of friends. It's also a perfect first date...it'll totally loosen the tension. If you think it's just "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"...well, don't. It's several notches above that show. They take it much further. I even took their class once and had a blast...made me consider doing that for a living...until I realized I'm not as talented as they are (I'm still going to therapy about that). But if you want to do something fun, take the class! You'll love it. And you never know...you just might end up as part of the troupe - one of the guys in my class is now a member of Four Day Weekend! That is very cool. This is a perfect place for a date night! I had no idea Fort Worth had something so unique. The comedians do a wonderful job of keeping the audience involved and do well when drunk people get obnoxious. One lady was drunk at the 730 show and kept yelling out things. This is our first time being at this comedy club. We were not sure what kind of show this was going to be like, so we kept an opened mind the entire time. Finding parking was somewhat of a zoo. We just parked in the parking garage and walked a couple of miles without any rain luckily. We arrive 7:30pm on the dot and the gal at the ticket box gave us our tickets right away. We did not want to miss the show just to stand in the bar line to get a drink, so we dashed quickly inside. It was definitely a full crowd inside and we managed to find a seat without making people get out of their seats. The only downside were cramped movie theater seats. If you are tall, your legs will be comfortably resting against the chair in front of you. If you wanted to get a drink or needed to use the bathroom, everyone on your row would have to stand up to let you get by. All in all, the comedy skits were funny and original. read more

We've had two company events here and both turned out great! The shows move at a rapid pace so be there early. No one likes a late arrival after everyone is seated and laughing. The lobby bar is pretty pricey, but if you were to get wasted you'd be in no shape for the comedy! They do recycle sketches but they never turn out the same so just go with the flow if you encounter one. It's much more fun if you participate! The comedians appreciate the interaction. Our events required that the audience provided words and phrases before the show began, so pay close attention to whoever is working the door for instructions before entering. Of course you could also appoint someone from your group (like me) to "encourage" participation. (Yes, I am available to emcee your events there and my rates are very reasonable!) read more

I visited this place on Wednesday for a special Free performance for Veterans. This was my second visit and I enjoyed them just as much ... maybe more than my first visit. They are so entertaining and clearly enjoy what they do-and they do it well!! I admire their commitment to their craft as well as to their community. I know I'm in the minority here, but this just wasn't funny. I don't know what I'm missing because everyone else in the audience was dying laughing, and I would say maybe because I was sober, but my husband was drunk and he didn't find it funny either. Maybe it's because it was a 45+ crowd and we are late 20's? I really don't know because I was looking forward to this having heard such amazing things. This place is fantastic! I have been twice now and it gets funnier. You write down on a postcard and sticky note a phrase and one word. The gentleman grab a phrase and word and have to come up with a skit based upon what the audience has written down. This makes it fun! I haven't been to Four Day Weekend in years and I honestly can't say why. It's on $20 a huge bargain, not a bad price for drinks and comfortable seating. What more could you ask for. Okay some laughs of course. I got more than what I paid for. I could not stop laughing. Everything is interactive so the skits are taking from cards and sticky pad the audience filled out before the show started. I am not a fan of sitting on the front row at any comedy show but there we sat on the front row. It was made even more special because we were celebrating a friends birthday and she was object of the first skit. They asked her life story and made it into as song. I thought I would die laughing, not just because of the song but his recap of the questions the host asked. We laughed so much so the whole show. They are real comedy geniuses. We have plenty of options when it comes to comedy in DFW but if you've never been to Four Day Weekend you are truly missing out. Not only do you have a chance to influence the show, you can become a part of it. After the show we took photos with the cast. This was our second visit to 4Day Weekend! First off, im stoked they have come to Dallas, and in walking distance from our place! Improv comedy is great! The audience essentially writes the show. There are index cards and post it notes side-stage for the crowd to put in suggestions and one liners that are used throughout the show making it completely interactive. Not a bad seat in the house. Ticket prices are great ($25), and there's a full bar. You can get a carafe of wine!! Worth the money for 2 hours on a Saturday night! We will be back! read more

I did not enjoy the couple making out in front of me (seriously, get a room) and did not enjoy a loud group at the back which made it hard to hear the comedy troupe. This is Pee-Your-Pants stuff here, ladies and gentlemen. Well worth the $20 admission price. We went to see Four Day Weekend as part of a bachelorette party night. The theater isn't as big as I thought it would be. Stadium seating and about the size of a movie theater. I highly recommend writing a noun on a sticky note and putting it on the board. I didn't write a phrase on an index card for the bucket, but I wish I had after they started. The troupe did a few of their own sketches involving audience members. They landed on one of our group members and she pointed at Lyndsey, the bachelorette. They asked her a few questions, then made up this outrageous song on the fly that brought most of us to tears. I can't wait to take Kevin here on date night. The troupe is beyond hilarious and takes improv to the next level. read more

I want to start off by saying that improv comedy definitely requires a special skill set and talent. However, I just didn't find this venue and group of comedians very entertaining. They accept topics for suggestion, however the host tosses out the majority of them and only chooses those that fit the moment/skit. I'm sure that some of the suggestions might be a bit out there or too vulgar for the audience, but they probably only used one of every five suggestions they picked up. So unless I just picked a night with the worst audience members...I'm also pretty sure that they plant members in the audience as some of the 'random' folks they picked out were just too good to be true. The night we went they just happened to pick the one audience member that had attended five different colleges when they were making jokes about schools. Uh yeah... I guess one perk about this place is there is not a minimum drink purchase requirement like some other comedy clubs so you can save a few bucks. However if you are looking for laughs in downtown Fort Worth, Hyenas is much funnier. read more

yeah this place is a fort worth treasure. I had heard and read so many good things about Four Day Weekend, and so this was long overdue. If there is anything that could be improved about the experience, it would be the box office at the entrance. Perhaps they could send you your tickets via email if you purchased tickets online in advance; that way, you don't have to stand in line to claim your tickets at the box office, in effect crowding up the tiny lobby. However, this is a minor gripe and in no way takes away from the awesomeness of the show. About the show, it was really really good! In fact, it gets better as the show goes on. The cast members are so talented and can put together super funny material on the spot using pretty much anything the audience gives them. Just a heads-up-- anyone in the audience can get called out to participate. They're super cool though and can make anybody called up feel reasonably comfortable. Think "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"... That's Four Day Weekend. For $20 per ticket you can have a super fun evening and laugh your butt off watching these crazy guys come up with the silliest things on the fly. They're improv masters - and you will seriously be impressed at how creative they can be. The audience writes the show - post-it notes are positioned at the front of the stage and before the show starts you can contribute ideas to the show - then the cast incorporates your ideas into the act. Get ready to laugh! They are only open on Friday and Saturday nights and they do a total of 4 shows throughout the entire weekend - two shows on Friday night and two on Saturday night. They have shows at 7:30 PM and at 10:00 PM. Located really close to Sundance Square. The only con that I can think of is that if you are a large/wide person (or claustrophobic) you may have difficulty in the seats. The auditorium is older and the seats are very small so be aware that you may feel pretty squished. I totally recommend this place. Makes a fun date night and is something a little different. read more

The skits are pretty much the same every time but since they adlib around audience suggestions and newspaper headlines, it keeps it fresh. The reviews on here vary because you can have a great time or a terrible time depending on who ends up in the theatre with you. Love, love, love this place! I have been coming here since I was 18 and I'm 28 now. Over ten years the guys continue to be so funny that I have no choice but to come back. Four Day Weekend is a great way to start your evening. It's only $20 for an amazing show that will put your whole group in a great mood. They do so many improvs from audience suggestions that it is highly likely one of your group's suggestions will be chosen and that is when the guys seem extra funny! Pro tips: 1) Purchase tickets online so you don't have to worry about them being sold out. 2) Get there 15-30 minutes early so you have time to write down suggestions and get drinks (the bar is small but has everything) 3) Be prepared with words and phrases to write on the sticky notes and index cards. We always make a note in my phone while we are at dinner so we are prepared when we arrive. 4) There are no "bad" seats. The show is great from anywhere you sit and you are just as likely to be picked on in the back row as the front. If you are picky about your seats though, see pro tip #2. read more

Perhaps this was a bad idea. My bf and I were taken out to see FDW by his good friend. "Do you like 'Whose Line is it Anyway?' It's like that." I didn't know what to expect, except for laughter. I'd never been to a live improv performance before. We came in and were lucky to find 3 seats together. It was up toward the back, but the view wasn't bad at all. After taking our seats, the bf and friend went down to write on the post-its that they were going to use during the show. I can see how some yelpers would give it a low rating for seating... but it's really up to you. Come early, get your seats. Simple. We didn't get any drinks, but a lot of others did. I imagine they weren't too ridiculously priced. The show was hilarious. I find myself using the lines from the used post-its whenever I can. Oh, how I love inside jokes. And the part where they picked someone from the audience to be a big brother and then made a song about him with a look-alike? SPOT ON. I'm still astonished at how close they got the costume. So, what's the bad idea? Well... after coming home to Seattle, I incorporated a local improv show into a recent date. Granted, this one is on a smaller scale than FDW, the show was... it just... well... it was sorely lacking. Sorely. Like a recurring Charlie horse in your thigh. Ouch. I felt bad for them through the whole thing... and I blame FDW! I'd love to go back and contribute a post-it!! read more

Can't believe I was born and raised in Fort Worth and have never been here. I went here for date night with my husband and it was so fun! Comedians are so funny and talented. Drinks and bartenders are awesome also! RumChata drink is yummy! - Get there at least 45 minutes early so you can be first in line for good seats (first come, first serve) - You can go to the bar upstairs and wait until doors open (mixed drinks are $8, no food options) - Not raunchy, vulgar material AT ALL (but still so hilarious) - which, I think, is enough alone to earn 5 stars - Seating is theater style (but still very tight), sit in front row if you want to be able to stretch your legs - Think of funny phrases/topics ahead of time. Like 150 people in the place...what are the odds YOU'RE gonna be the one they pick? Slim to none, right? You're way in back. You're good. FOOL! I thought the numbers would protect me--they did not. Full disclosure--not a big crowd participation person. I don't love the idea of getting brought up on stage for anything--particularly unexpectedly--so when my girlfriend's family told us we were going to an improv show I was excited but less than thrilled at the possibilities. No pressure there. First off, these guys are really funny. Improv is a tough game-I know just from observing--and these guys are fast, funny, and awesome at recurring jokes. Lighthearted and clean enough to be at with family, but spontaneous and edgy enough to keep the younger crowd totally engaged. A spotlight can single a patron out from anywhere in the theater, so burying yourself in the back like we had will not protect you. Perhaps looking "like Jesus Christ" with long hair and a beard like I do did me no favors. But I called it. I called it on drive there. On the way in. And then I forgot at intermission. I forgot all the way until the spotlight hit me with 30 minutes left in the show. And I was the rest of the show. Or rather, the answers I gave them. And it was awesome. Truly, the troop is so lighthearted and fun, and so friendly and playful that despite being totally nervous being onstage, I had a great time. I was apprehensive at the beginning, but was a huge fan by the end. Huge huge fan. I can't recommend them enough. You will not regret it. Absolutely, positively, check them out. read more
