I decided to try this place for my birthday with some friends. The reservation process is very user-friendly and selecting your meal beforehand makes for quick service. Parking is not easy close to the theater due to the small location, so carpool if possible. The dining area is small, but that means that everyone can hear the actors easily. The food is nothing special, but it is good and I particularly enjoyed the mousse cake I got for dessert. The show is what makes Texas Star worth the price tag. The actors are very polished performers and do great improv with the audience. It was over-the-top, silly and overall a great show. My crew and I laughed through the whole story and agreed that it was a great birthday party. We'll be keeping an eye out for new scripts, because the cast really knows how to put on a show!

The actors perform right around you!

Most important things first: full bar with service before and during the show! The food is good - we had the beef (chicken fried steak, veggies, mashed potatoes) and the fish (tilapia, rice, veggies), plus salads and desserts. We weren't expecting much from dinner, but it was good and served super quickly! The show is hilarious and definitely worth a visit. The seating is comfortable, there are tables of 4, 6, and 8, so you may end up meeting some new friends, depending on your group size. It was funny and a good mystery, and there are no bad seats in the place. Servers were fast and responsive, actors and fun and interactive, and everyone gets a photo afterward (if you want one). Parking is the only part that not ideal. We got there early and got a lucky spot, but you may have to pay to park in the garage across the street or find downtown parking. They do have two lots for the theater, shared with the adjoining bar (Chill), but the spots go fast!

This place was so much fun! I usually have a pretty good time at venues like these, but I think most people will enjoy a cute bit of theater and a fun meal! The meal better than I anticipated. There is plenty of parking nearby. The "theater" Is also the dining area, so you are in the thick of it! Don't worry though - it is only mildly interactive, so even the introverts like me will be ok. The tables seat six, so be aware you will be meeting some new friends unless you are in a group of six or more. Just an fyi, they encourage small children to stay at home to ensure the experience is enjoyable for everyone. Fun times!

This murder mystery was so much fun! The cast was funny, entertaining, and interacted well with each other as well as with us. The servers and service were both great, too. Parking isn't great, though. We had to park down the block and being unfamiliar with the area...it wasn't the best. The food was fresh and pretty good. I requested bbq sauce instead of a pesto. I wasn't sure if I would actually get it but I did! The venue is not too big and not too small but it did get pretty loud from everyone talking and having fun! If you're looking for a fun place to go, I highly recommend Texas Star Murder Mystery in Grapevine, Texas! I hope to take friends and family to an upcoming show. I would have given 5 stars except for the parking.

I've always wanted to a do a murder mystery dinner ever since I figured out what they were. Low and behold, my friend was hitting the big 3-0, and this is what she wanted to do for her birthday! I of course was the last one in my group to show up. I walked to the front desk, and checked in. After checking in I then was taken to my table. As I was being seated, I was surprised anticipating a stage .However, I was delighted to find out the actors would be acting around the audience. Shortly, we were informed by one of the actors the schedule for the evening, and then were served our dinner. The dinner was a three course meal (that you choose ahead of time with your ticket). Of course, I'm always skeptical with food at events like this being tasty; however, my food was a a large portion, and was very flavorful. You could order drinks on the cocktail and wine menu for extra charge, and of course I got the house wine, and tried a Nutella cocktail. In regards to the show, the cast was very funny and cheesy. We, as well as most teams, were able to solve the mystery. I had a great time taking notes, trying to figure out all the clues, and interacting with my friends ad the actors in the process. The restrooms were clean and easily accessible, and the staff was very attentive. Overall, I would love to come back again! I loved the show, and recommend to everyone to try out at least once. You can bet your lunch money that I will be checking their schedule soon to see upcoming shows.

This was such a fun date night! We had such a great time laughing so much and relaxing with great food and drinks. The area was very spacious, the food options were perfect and the actors were very funny especially with the improv. The interactions with the performance was classy and hilarious. We ended up guessing the murderer but the whole experience was really fun and we look forward to going back again!

Never a dull moment when the actors include the guests

We had a blast! Our cheeks hurt from laughing! This fun, interactive whodunnit dinner theater experience was a fun way to celebrate a birthday with friends. The food was good and the actors were a hoot! The wait staff was attentive and everyone we met was friendly and helpful. Definitely something fun to do as a group so you can be a team trying to solve the murder mystery together.

Even though this place was in much better health years ago, I was dissatisfied enough back then to swear I'd never return. Then Yelp hosted a fun event here recently that made me reconsider my decision. Unfortunately, that redemption would be short lived. I returned with my family on Easter Sunday and the first order of business was getting popcorn and drinks. After finding our seats we immediately dug in. I had only taken a couple bites when I found hair in my popcorn. And it definitely wasn't mine! The way it was wrapped around the piece told me that it was there when the kernel was popped. I was totally grossed out! Not only did I refuse to eat any more during the movie (even from a fresh batch), I'm not sure I will ever feel comfortable eating popcorn in a dark theater again. It's obvious that higher prices don't equal better hygiene practices here because the popcorn (along with everything else) is outrageously expensive. The fact that the condiment stations were dirty and the floors were sticky, before the first showing of the day, was a big clue that I mistakenly overlooked. Not surprisingly, I'm finally done with this theater and probably all AMCs for that matter.

We arrived a bit early, so we grabbed a couple of drinks while waiting for the rest of our group. I ordered a double Tito's and cranberry--it was made perfectly and definitely hit the spot. Once we headed inside, it looked like seating was first-come, first-served, but we had opted for the VIP tickets. Having those reserved spots gave us a fantastic view of the stage; I highly recommend going the VIP route if you can! The show itself was top-tier. The openers had great sets that really warmed up the room, and then the "Queen" herself, Kelly Kells, took the stage. It has been a long time since I've laughed that hard! I was so grateful we chose this night to head out. In terms of the venue, everything was clean and well-maintained. The staff was impressive--they were super on top of it and got our food and drink orders out to us quickly despite the crowd. I'd definitely come back for another show!

Front door, bar tender, tour guide etc all so funny and kind which is why we'll be back for a show even though not for this tour. First of all, this is advertised online as a 75 minute tour. So when we ended after 45 minutes I was a bit disappointed to say the least. Barely 45 minutes too as we stopped once for a "photo op in a mural tunnel" and again go tell our own ghost stories to each other. It was also advertised as a funny comedic ghost tour with lots of stories. Our guide tried his best at some jokes about his ex Tammy, which were cute, but really struggled with the ghost aspect. There really weren't any ghost stories. He kept referencing the "broken hearts tour" as if we were going to hear some tortured stories of relationships, but we didn't. Additionally, we signed up for the "Hidden Hauntings Ghost Walk". So I think they've got a little bit too much going on to be well organized enough to coordinate this as a success. The EMFs were a bit gimmicky but what was worse was the fact that it was during the bright daylight? The vibe was strange but again, the staff were so kind so we didn't walk away upset ‍. Tl:dr ghost tour not as advertised but staff were nice enough that I'm sure other things they do are fun.

Unfortunately, this event was the complete opposite. I booked a private premiere screening of The Devil Wears Prada, and the Event Sales Manager made multiple promises that the theater ultimately could not deliver. We were told we'd have early access for setup, access to Studio 1 with space for a private cocktail hour, and several other accommodations that simply did not happen. The day of the event, my team and I were left scrambling trying to adjust in real time while hosting guests. To make matters worse, every single filet mignon steak served was overcooked. For a premium theater experience with premium pricing, that's unacceptable. But the most alarming part came after the event. I left with a confirmed zero balance. Then, TWO DAYS LATER, I was hit with an unexpected charge of nearly $2,000 on my Amex. When I questioned it, I was told the Event Sales Manager's "last day was tomorrow" and that I should direct any questions to a local representative. No accountability. No transparency. Just chaos. This was supposed to be a polished, memorable premiere experience. Instead, it was stressful, disorganized, and financially questionable. Never again.
