What a great little space. Small stage for intimate shows, good lineup of shows like Rent (what we saw), and Jagged Little Pill based on Alanis Morissette's music. The staff are really nice and the space is so cute. I didn't order one, but my friend ordered a very small $15 Old Fashioned with a peach nectar ice cube. She said it was delicious, but it was so small, that's a steep price for a drink that small. But I guess it's all in the name of helping out the non-profit. Other than that, it was a great time. Looking forward to Jagged Little Pill in a couple months, will be fun! read more

Thank goodness Circle Theatre and Jubilee are both downtown. If the powers that be are smart, it will stay that way. Haven't yet gotten to see a show at Jubilee (will rectify that soon; it has an excellent reputation), but have seen many shows at Circle, & never seen a dud. Intimate, wonderful theater, & very friendly folks, who go out of their way to help. Places/organizations like this make me wish I lived in FW. read more

This is our third time to purchase season tickets and we couldn't be happier with the performances, quality of productions, the venue, and staff at Circle Theater. Not to mention the price! Ridiculously inexpensive, especially when purchasing during preseason sale, 5 shows for the price of 3! But wait, there's more! Circle Theater is conveniently located in Sundance Square, walking distance to lovely indoor/outdoor dining and specialty shops if you happen to get downtown before the show. The theater is intimate and comfortable, the restrooms are clean and the other theater watchers range from young to seasoned. We have had some wonderful chats and have enjoyed people watching while sipping wine or coffee in the waiting area before the doors open. A couple tips if you're new to the theater or their season ticket holder experience... its a small operation (hence the great prices and quality of performances) so please be patient if there are initial misunderstandings. Once you get the hang of it, it's easy. You won't get anything in the mail except maybe a calendar of shows. All ticket reservations are online or over the phone. Season ticket holders can reserve seats a week or two(?) prior to the show going on sale to the public - do it then to get good seats (although they're all good seats, it's intimate). We always reserve our seats for the next show while at the theater during the current show :) If you won't make a show and you have seats reserved - call before the show!! Or you'll lose your tickets. Lastly, there's different season rates based on day, time and area you want to sit in. Website has details if you drill down Hope this helps! Excellent Performance!! We just saw our first play here on Saturday (matinee) it's a great location near Sundance Square not a bad seat in the house. "One Man Two Guvnors" was very funny and well acted. Loved everything about it, scene changes with characters scrambling around in a very organized fun way with perfect timing, and funny interaction with the crowd. We will be back!! read more

This magnificent theater is tucked into the basement of the Sanger Lofts building at Sundance Square, it is in between Oliver's Deli and Leddy's Ranch clothing store, with a modest Red Sign (of Circle Theater) and the season premier displayed on the window which is easy to miss for the first timers. The Circle Theatre itself is pretty small. There is an atrium with a ticket counter and a small / moderate concession area. The concession area has a few things including wine and beer, credit cards accepted for $5.00 and up, has comfortable seating couch, chairs, and high table. Drinks and food not allowed in the theater. The theater is divided into three sections of seats "Center, Right and Left wing", with great views from everywhere (we usually sit on the right wing). The seats themselves are padded and have armrests. The floors are clean (not sticky like some movie theaters). The employees (actors and staff) are all kind and friendly. The actors have come out after the show and have made pleasant conversation with their fans. (Ghost Writer) The plays on the Circle Theatre are nothing flashy like / or such as Broadway plays, I get the impression that they are not trying to compete with the blockbusters; The Lion King and Les Miserables, ect... The actors most of the time are local and non-touring group of professionals who act in these plays because they love it, this is their passion and it shows. Another remarkable thing I wanted to mention is that the 2014 Season its going to be the "33 Season" of the theater, which is quite impressive for this little town of Fort Worth. Surviving 33 years on business means that you are doing things right. :):) Overall, I'm hoping to bring more people to this lovely little spot. P.S: Right now "Too Many Cooks" it is playing, highly recommended, dramatic and funny (if that makes any sense). I had a great time, but I am a theatre lover and for few of you that don't enjoy theater as much give it a try at least, you'll be surprised. Hope and Gravity was hilarious, go and watch it please. Having had season tickets off and on for several years I can honestly say we have never seen a bad show here. The distance from the stage creates an intimacy that draws you into the story . Last night we saw David Ives' " Venus in Fur" and as always it did not dissapoint. We left the theater enthralled and amazed at the chemistry and interplay between Allison Pistorius and Chris Hury. Their expert skill in the transitions of power throughout the play kept us guessing and thrillingly off balance. When we first saw that there were only two cast members we wondered how they could carry a performance for the entire length of the performance. They were so amazing and the direction so crafty, when the lights came up it was like we were jerked back into the real world and we wondered where the time went. Truly wonderful. Don't miss this! If you've been giving thought to trying out the Circle Theatre, located at 230 W 4th St, Fort Worth, TX 76102, go ahead and reserve your tickets for the current production of "Becky's New Car," written by Steve Dietz. Becky, a middle-aged woman, isn't actually unhappy with her life, but she's also not all that thrilled with it. When an odd misunderstanding presents Becky with a chance to escape her current humdrum situation, she seizes the opportunity and discovers that life in the fast lane isn't all that easy. This is a play to which most everyone can relate and really should be on your "must do" list for this summer. read more

We visited Circle Theatre for opening night of The Whipping Man, and I can't wait to go back. The theatre itself is incredibly intimate, you feel like you're in the thick of the action happening onstage, and the play itself was amazing...but then, Circle Theatre always brings in incredibly engaging shows. The Good News: I have enjoyed every play that I have seen at Circle Theatre. The Bad News: Being a season ticket holder has been a disaster. This is my first time purchasing season tickets to this theatre. I purchased my season tickets early before they announced the season which was a gamble I believed would pay off. Unlike other theatres, Circle doesn't send printed tickets or a pass to their season ticket holders so my first phone call to them was to ask why I had not received any confirmation of my purchase. I was assured that something would be mailed to me to confirm. Eventually, I received a brochure advertising the season and asking me to purchase a subscription and to donate above and beyond my subscription cost. This prompted a second call to assertain whether my subscription was recorded and active. At this point I was told that I would not be sent any formal ticket or pass. The brochure was all that would be sent and I should call to make reservations for which ever show I intended to attend. Naturally, I was excited about the flexibility this implied. Today, I called to make reservations for this weekend and was told the current show is full through the end of its run and I will not be able to attend. Furthermore I was told that I should have made reservations in advance of ticket sales opening to the general public. There was no indication tht I would need to do this and no one told me that this would be necessary in either of the two prior phone calls. Each time that I had called I had let them know that I was a new subscriber and that I needed detailed information about how their process worked. The plays here are great but the customer service is pathetic. I won't purchase season tickets here again. read more

Will call tickets must be picked up 15 minutes prior to show time. I didn't have any problems with that, other than I was not told over the phone when I bought my tickets. What I had issue with was the arrogant AND pompous ass lecturing me about theater etiquette from behind a locked door via an intercom box. Customer service was nearly as good as a McDonald's drive thru. Will never return. Just MHO. read more
