I was in Fort Worth visiting family, and my brother took me to see Gutenberg The Musical. It was hilarious, and the Amphibian was a wonderful local theater. It's small but big enough. There is not a bad seat in place. You can purchase wine, beer, light beverages, and snacks. I'd definitely return to see another play.

Enjoyed Hans and Sophie and the following discussion after the play. Very cozy venue. No bad seats. Easy check in and seating. I watched a Planned Parenthood movie here and it was also a pleasant experience! Parking might be a problem if you arrive late. There's plenty to do after the play at the close by restaurants and breweries. No complaints

I recently attended a play "Mercy Killers" at Amphibian Stage Productions, and thought I'd give the place a review as it was my first time here. Driving to the theater, I'll be honest that the neighborhood was a little scary and not what I was expecting, and the building looked rather small and was also not what I was expecting. But you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. It was a pleasant surprise in fact! First off, the parking is free and in their own little lot, which was nice. When we walked up they even had someone holding the doors open for you. The moment you step inside the building it is like entering a different world as it was completely charming indoors! The decor is very modern and minimalistic. They had flags hanging from the ceiling that were tied into the play we were about to see. They had a bar where they offered wine, beer, mixed drinks, soft drinks, and cookies and snacks for sale. There were about four tables and seating along the walls. They really utilized all the space the place has to offer while still keeping it cozy not cramped. We were greeted warmly, got our tickets and a drink and waited for the doors to open to go inside. Seating is first come first serve, but don't rush to finish your drink, you are allowed to take it inside with you. Stay close to the doors and get a front row if you like, but this is an intimate theater, with no bad seats. The production we saw was a one man play, I had never seen one before, but was very impressed with it. It had to do with the medical care in the US and was driven by a doomed couple's heartbreaking plight. They invited all those in attendance to write out their thoughts on the play, or their own experiences on these sheets of cloth and to tie them to a provided screen, letting you be a little piece of art in the lobby. I thought that was cute and I had planned on doing it, but the play had hit very close to home and I was a crying mess by the time it concluded. I had had a very similar experience to those in the story, I got very sick, almost died, spent months in the hospital, barely making it out. In the meantime raking up outrageous sums in hospitals bills that no mere mortal could ever hope to pay back. Our hospital system is very backwards in this country, and I thought the play showed you how care should be a right not a privilege for the rich. Great art entertains, but the best of it makes you think. I am glad we have a theater in Fort Worth that shows non-mainstream productions. I am sure I will be back for more in the future! And recommended it to anyone looking for an interesting evening.

The subtitles above the stage made it much easier to follow along with what was being sung, which really enhanced the experience. The atmosphere was perfect for an afternoon performance, and it was nice that drinks were available. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout. We sat in the upper section, and it did get a little warm--but considering it was a full house, it was understandable. Overall, it was a beautiful performance and a great experience.

We hadn't seen Shucked before and I knew it'd be the funny light hearted silly type of humor we'd enjoy together since we love laughing. We had a great time. My son wasn't originally planning on attending but his flight was delayed by 9 hours, and the box office provided exceptional service when I needed another ticket upon arrival. While the production runs are pretty short it's so special to have the opportunity to catch the touring shows. We valeted the car and pre ordered ice-cream for intermission. If you live nearby this is a no brainer and even from a good drive over I'm still considering several other shows. The performance hall is very lovely, plush seats, lots of nice options for snacks and drinks. Bring a sweater because it can get a little chilly but perfect escape for whatever weather TX is throwing at you. Every individual from valet, to box office, ushers and more provided such great service. We throughly enjoyed ourselves. Looking forward to returning and making more of a day of it while in the Fort Worth area.

I recommend buying tickets in advance as their arena gets packed. Checkin starts an hour before the comedians take the stage. They have a bar with some beer, wine and cocktail options. Unfortunately no food here. I recommend having your dinner before coming here. Seats are nice and staff are very friendly. As we walked in we noticed others who checked in before us started writing things on a piece of paper so comedians have some improv ideas to perform. Comedians were very funny throughout the show. The show lasted for a couple of hours. They even brought in a couple of audience members and added them to their show. Overall, all of us had a great time. Absolutely worth it. Ambiance was great. Nice clean restrooms. Parking can be hard to find. There is a parking garage nearby. I think it's free for a couple of hours.

The outdoor courtyard is inviting and perfect to sit at picnic tables and drink before or after the show. The bar is simple with limited options, but definitely nice they had a bar. The small pink moscato wine bottle was $10, just seemed a bit expensive but everything is these days with markup. The show itself was a blast. Prior to doors opening, you can have a alcoholic beverage or burger at the Backyard, which is a small bar under string-up lights. They have live music playing. The artist we saw playing, Don Burke, was very talented. My husband and I watched Pan Arcadia last night, it was a whimsical interpretation of the Peter Pan and Wendy story told by human actors as puppets (but also as themselves). I've got to admit I was very confused as to what was happening for many of the scenes but was able to get the general gist at the end. Let's just say- if you don't already know the Peter Pan story, I imagine you would be hopelessly lost. The live music was wonderful, fitting, soothing, and carried great for being in an outdoor theater. The acting was very sincere. Since you are exposed to the elements you might notice huge insects and spiders but they at least offer complimentary bug spray around the premises. This is a novel way to do date night and definitely worth a try.
