Went to see *Madama Butterfly* on April 12 at the 2 PM showing. The performance was amazing--truly captivating from start to finish. The subtitles above the stage made it much easier to follow along with what was being sung, which really enhanced the experience. The atmosphere was perfect for an afternoon performance, and it was nice that drinks were available. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout. We sat in the upper section, and it did get a little warm--but considering it was a full house, it was understandable. Overall, it was a beautiful performance and a great experience. read more

My son and I enjoyed a matinee at the Bass this past weekend. I thought theatre was a thing of the past when moving to TX so I'm extremely appreciative for the offering at Bass Performance Hall. We hadn't seen Shucked before and I knew it'd be the funny light hearted silly type of humor we'd enjoy together since we love laughing. We had a great time. My son wasn't originally planning on attending but his flight was delayed by 9 hours, and the box office provided exceptional service when I needed another ticket upon arrival. While the production runs are pretty short it's so special to have the opportunity to catch the touring shows. We valeted the car and pre ordered ice-cream for intermission. If you live nearby this is a no brainer and even from a good drive over I'm still considering several other shows. The performance hall is very lovely, plush seats, lots of nice options for snacks and drinks. Bring a sweater because it can get a little chilly but perfect escape for whatever weather TX is throwing at you. Every individual from valet, to box office, ushers and more provided such great service. We throughly enjoyed ourselves. Looking forward to returning and making more of a day of it while in the Fort Worth area. read more

The staff is very friendly, if sometimes pushy (we know where are seats are and don't always need to be shown). I saw the Nutcracker by Texas Ballet Theater at Bass Performance Hall. The performance itself was fun and wonderful, but I am surprised about the decision to not perform it to live orchestral accompaniment. For the price of the ticket, I would have expected it. That aside, 5 stars to the venue and 5 stars for nearby parking at 777 Main Garage (conveniently at 601 Commerce St.), which is free on Saturday night. We arrived at 6pm for our 8pm show. That gave us plenty of time to park in free parking, eat dinner, and get to our seats with 30 mins to spare. Security at Bass was efficient. It took all of 3 mins at entrance 45 mins to showtime. read more

Bass Hall is a beautiful venue in Fort Worth. They have a variety of touring Broadway shows coming throughout the year. I saw Beetlejuice here and was so impressed with the theatre. Security gets you in quickly and there are plenty of ushers available to help you find your seats. The seats were very comfortable, so I had no problem sitting and enjoying the view of the beautiful theatre while waiting for the show to start. We used valet parking on our visit which was $21 (card or cash accepted). Our car was ready quickly and it was nice not having to deal with a parking garage. Overall, I had a great experience at Bass Hall and look forward to coming again soon. read more

Came with my mom to see The Wiz and it was an amazing experience! We found street parking within walking distance from the performance hall - so parking wasn't an issue plus it's free after 6PM. Entering the venue was smooth - they check bags and wand you down. The venue was clean, had multiple bar stations, and attendants to assist if you need help. My only complaint is where we were seated. We were in the lower gallery on row A which is the start of the section. The bars in front prevent you from seeing the show without leaning up. Now knowing this, going forward I will pick different seats. Overall, a good experience with an awesome show! read more

Yunchan Lim was mesmerizing as he played the piano. I feel I witnessed one of the best skillful pianists at the tender age of 18. He was dazzling, made you forget everything around you by pulling you into his musical world. The acoustics at Bass Hall were amazing. Bass Hall is the place fhat a good number of touring Broadway shows land when coming to the Ft Worth area. A good rule of thumb is if a newer show hits Dallas & your either unable or unwilling to make it where their major Broadway theater is, give it the next year and it should be at Bass Hall. I.E. Beetlejuice and Moulin Rouge was just part of Dallas' 2023-2024 season, and they were announced part of Bass Halls 2024-2025 season. They are also home to the orchestra, opera, there are ballet performances and the occasional other show like Lyle Lovett. Bass hall is lucky located to where there is free parking garages after 6pm on weeknights and I believe free on the weekends as well. There is a Texrail and TRE spot walking distance. Plus, there is some food options nearby if you give yourself enough time before or after a show. Though they are strict about no outside food or drink at Bass hall, so keep that in mind if you eat before hand and tend to have leftovers you want to hold on too. read more

I came here to see The Lion King musical. It was amazing. I booked valet parking in advance but it looked like you could also pay for valet when you arrived. There were extremely long lines to get in but they moved very quickly. As you enter you ticket(s) will be scanned and if you are carrying a bag it will be searched. If you are confused about where your seats are there are plenty of people around to send you in the right directions. I was seating in a box seat so there was a specific waiting area upstairs where there is a small bar where you can purchase drinks and snacks. The Bass Hall never ceases to amaze me. It is hands down one of the most beautiful buildings in Fort Worth. We came to the Bass Hall on a Friday evening to watch SIX. We had never heard of this musical but walked out LOVING it. We have already seen Frozen and To Kill a Mockingbird as part of their Broadway set this season and enjoyed both. There really isn't a bad seat at this theater. When we walked inside, we saw the entire first floor had tables throughout that were decorated beautifully with a lot of Christmas decorations that were for sale. The staff working there is always incredibly helpful in guiding you to where your seats are and the drinks and snack bar lines always move fairly quickly. I am definitely looking forward to our next visit to the Bass Hall to watch Aladdin!! If you've never been, this Fort Worth native highly recommends it! read more

Such a beautiful venue. We went for a show on a Friday night with friends. Easy to get in, easy to find our seats. Lots of stairs to climb (but does have elevator if you want to wait). The show was amazing. We did make the rookie mistake of parking in the parking garage across the street which we were then stunk in traffic in for 40+ min after the show. So I recommend a different plan for parking. read more

An absolute gem in Fort Worth. We went a few times for theater productions, and then became season-ticket holders. Always top-notch performances, and the staff is great. They are focused on safety, which I appreciate. Plenty of restaurants nearby to catch dinner before or after the show. Buy your tickets early, because they often sell out. read more

Amazing acoustics throughout. we were in the last row, up under the balcony. Even there, it was magnificent. We saw the roadshow of Les Miserables and it was completely wonderful. I've seen it six times at the various house and this was the best touring show that I've seen. Kudos to the sound engineers . Why have I never written before this? As a life-long resident and previous Fort Worth Symphony and Opera season ticket holder, I attended countless performances and concerts at the Bass. Each and every one is memorable and worthy of a 5-star rating. The Bass is first-class all the way. The seating and acoustics of the hall were designed for superior guest experiences. This evening my wife and I were at the Bass to experience the phenomenal Shen Yun dance/musical spectacular. We had never been before and decided that THIS was the year. Shen Yun didn't disappoint. Drove over an hour to see a matinee of "To Kill a Mockingbird". After sitting through an hour of the show being delayed due to technical difficulties, it was cancelled and we were told we'd get our money back in 30 days. Didn't take 30 days to charge my credit card for tickets well over $100 each. No details on why - like "sound issues" or some such, no cast member coming out to say "Thanks for being here, sorry we can't perform but appreciate you being here," nothing. This was all handled very poorly - likely won't ever come back. As a side note - the speakers on the edge of the stage were very dusty, and the stage area looked pretty run down - not the set, the actual stage area. At least dusting might make it look a little better. read more

We've seen several plays here and it is a great venue to see a show! The seats are comfortable, the views are great, and this is a classy feeling theatre. Parking is a breeze by parking at the garage at 777 Main St. They even valet, if you so desire. The staff are nice and helpful. Also, Bass is situated in the middle of Sundance Square, which means there is a lot to do after a show. I highly recommend you see a show here! read more

The Show: Cinderella. This was a great performance for DD and me to attend together. The colors were catchy, the dancing was delicious, and the storyline retained most of what she knew about Cinderella. As an adult, I enjoyed the social consciousness of Rodger and Hammerstein's version and the well-calibrated moments of humor. And of course, both my 5-yo and I were in awe of the magical dress changes! The performers were all amazing but WOW--the Fairy Godmother gave me chills! Everyone who hears her sing bears witness to a real magic. The Venue. It very much reflects its primary patronage--beautifully robust with a muted opulence that denotes the comfortably rich, packed in a creamy, marbly white facade. If any of these ticketholders took a look at me and thought, "Not a regular. Must've gotten free tickets from someone who is," they would be absolutely right! I was incredulous when the cashier at the bar told me a cup with a lid was $3+ in addition to the $5+ for the Fairy Godmother drink. I would've been happy with a regular plastic cup, but they don't let you bring drinks into the theater w/o a lid. Maybe my incredulity resonated with him because he was very kind to me, and that small exchange bumped what would've been 4 stars to a 5-star rating. Over all, a lovely experience. read more

I've always been a Music Hall at Fair Park boy, but this.... People say Dallas is pretentious - I say it has standards. People say that Fair Park is too far South - I say it is historical. People say that the "bad seats" are the worst - I say, who cares? They have everything first! That is, until I set foot in Bass. I bought tickets for Spongebob the Musical on Stubhub. I paid $30 ticket, not knowing what to expect. I walked in, and WOW. It was incredible. Marble, delicious drinks, a winding staircase. TOP NOTCH! The staff was incredible. The bartenders were hilarious and oh so helpful. When I went to find my discount seat I was FRONT ROW! I had no clue. It was wonderful. The sound was great, the show, even better. As I left, I looked to see what seats were available for Hamilton. Bad, I thought! Row L?! Before I left I went up, and even Row L had a GREAT view. I bad seats, I guess. I would suggest the Bass for any opportunities that may arise. It's classy, ample and enjoyable. The lobby is a bit smaller, but that is a minimal gripe in the grand scheme. read more

I have offten made the comment that Dallas should take a page out of Fort Worth's Book. As I sit in a space of meditative prayer this evening, Hamilton - The Broadway Production- comes to mind, my response HIT PLAY. As the opening number comes plays, I turn up the volume (on a residential patio in Frisco). The thought is a reminder that I had not reviewed Bass Perfomance Hall. My son and I were fortunate to see Hamilton in the Fall of 2016 in NYC and all these years later we are still fans! This time we had another love in tow, my sons wife, my new daughter-in-love, our night began with dinner at Tinies and then coffee at The Worthington, Fort Worth has managed to preserve the "antiquity of romance". Upon entering Bass Performance Hall, I met a space that has been preserved in Texas History, an intentional space of care and preservation. We were guided to our seats by an usher with a delicate smile, and as I took notice of the auditorium, it was the perfect merriment of times past, infused with a modern space, meaning people, from all walks of life, cultures, spaces and places. This is the very reason art exist and why it is an important place in society. Art has the ability to unite those of us who would not ordinarily meet. Art can unify, in a world that has seemingly become acceptably divisive. We enjoyed the show and reminisced on our travel to NYC, however, it was a profound space to have the story of Hamilton performed in Texas, where I am, bred and built. Thank you Bass Performance Hall for helping create a treasured experience for my family and I. read more

My wife and I were invited to a showing of Back to the Future with live orchestra accompanyment. We've never been to the Bass Performance Hall before and were looking forward to it. We paid over $200 for tickets to see this performance. When we arrived we were subjected to scan by metal detector which was very disappointing. We also discovered that masks were required to enter and had to be worn the entire time including in the theater. They made a point of insuring that we knew this by placing signs on the doors, in the hallways, and by making an announcement before the movie. This made the whole experience feel a little cheep and demeaning. The seats where vary cramped and it felt like the people in front and beside us were part of our conversation. Of course, no food or drinks are allowed in the theater. All things considered, it's just not worth the price of admission. The metal detecters make you feel invaded. The mask signs all over make you feel like a child, and the seats make you feel like they're more interested in cramming as many people in, to make as much money as possible, without giving any thought to the experience for their customers. Back to the Future is a great movie, and the live orchestra was great. The employees were generally friendly. Unfortunately, the experience was just ruined, so we won't be returning. read more

I have been to many venues for Broadway Touring shows and other theatre entertainment across the country, and Bass Hall rates right at the top. Sight lines are all excellent, the acoustics have been very good for all the shows I have attended, seats are comfortable, public areas are always very clean and bright, and communication from them is excellent for our membership's levels. A couple other items that are often overlooked are also areas where Bass hall stands out. Those are such things as number of restrooms, number and speed of service at bars and overall temperature levels in the theatre. I do find the overall layout and number of staircases to get to some ticket levels a bit confusing, but that is minor. Parking is also very convenient and plentiful within a block, and being just off of Sundance Square means plenty of pre or post show dining options. If you are considering seeing a show but are hesitant about navigating downtown, I encourage you to do so because Bass Hall makes it all very easy and enjoyable. read more

Before the show, they have a few bars where you can enjoy a drink or 2 and just lounge around. The peformance hall was beautiful inside. They have several ushers that will show you where to go for your seats. This is where it got confusing. None of the ushers seemed to know where the seats were, and it took us the 5th time to get to our seats. They kept pointing us into the wrong direction, that was annoying. Once we were seated, I was amazed at how the place was set up. We were seated in the upper balcony, but the sound system is perfect. Every seat in that place is a good seat, so you can see everything. I recommend coming to watch a show at this hall. read more

Love this venue. The place is absolutely immaculate. It's is well maintained and clean. The shows they having are great. The acoustics of this hall are amazing. There literally isn't a bad seat in the house. The seats on the second floor are a bit cozy but the views are never obstructed. If you can try to sit on the ground floor and take a moment and look up at the ceiling. It's absolutely beautiful. The staff here also makes this place great. They are very helpful and go out of their way to ensure you are having a good time. There is always an armed security guard at every entrance so I definitely feels safe here. They have their own parking lot, but unlike Dallas parking is never a problem here. There are several parking structures within 2 blocks of this place and most offer free parking after 6pm and weekends. We liked this place so much we became season ticket holders. Don't hesitate. Just come to this place. You won't be disappointed. read more
