This is the most welcoming and coolest bar in the world…read more This massive, high-energy outlaw country space is an amazing, unpretentious venue you must see. The double-story building is a large, open Texas beer hall that blends modern and traditional saloon styles with an intentionally eclectic, whimsical vibe reminiscent of a theme park. For instance, the bathroom doors look like jail cells with hands on the bars, while the pristine stalls feature portraits of Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash. I used the Willie Nelson and was "on the commode again". The centerpiece is a huge, three-sided bar adorned with neon signs, vintage Western memorabilia, industrial brewing equipment, and a massive wall of taps. It serves both classics and ready-to-serve frozen drinks, which you can enjoy in the pet-friendly beer garden backyard party. Order you "two pina coladas and hope they fill 'em to the brim if your world is kind of rocky and you need to learn to swim." (That was Garth Brooks or Maya Angelou). The casual, amphitheater-like patio faces an outdoor stage built into the bed of a vintage truck. The live music (even 12:30pm on a Thursday) is loud enough to be festive but managed so you don't have to scream to be heard. The entire area is covered by a massive glass and steel retractable roof, ensuring comfort in any weather, in case you don't "love a rainy night nor think it's such a beautiful sight, and hate to feel the rain on your face, taste the rain on your lips in the moonlight shadows." (That was Eddie Rabbit or SunTzu). The seating options are excellent and varied. Groups can share high-tops around a gas fire or a lit tree, or even sit in kitschy sawed-off pickup truck beds with bench seating. You can also find lounge chairs near the outdoor fireplace, huge swinging benches, and plenty of folding beach chairs on the astroturf. For dining, you can order affordable bar food from a window and receive a pager, so there is no need to "might as well lay down and nap 'cause you've spent half your life just waiting on a nacho." (That was Brad Paisley or Abraham Lincoln).

The drinks were great, the burger was very good and my kids loved the chicken fingers. There were not a lot of cleaner options which would have been nice to have a few wraps or grilled chicken. The kids loved being able to run around, their outside is so great they should consider putting in a small climbing area for the kids. It'll make the parents stay longer aka drinks + food, while the kids have a great time outside. It could be where we sat but the acoustics were really hard to hear the singer who was a sweet older man. The tables also became VERY hot when the sun hit them for too long, so not sure what the solve is but the kids hated sitting because they kept burning their hands.

If you've ever wanted to feel like Wyatt Earp or Doc Holliday for a night, this is where you come…read more The moment you step into the White Elephant Saloon, it feels like the Old West never left. Dim lights, worn wood, history in the walls, and live music filling the room like it's always belonged there. There's a small dance floor, just enough space to two-step without overthinking it, and that's exactly what we came for. This was our last stop of the night, meant to be a quick finish before heading elsewhere in the Stockyards. Funny how plans change. The music hit right, the energy was right, and this place delivered exactly what it promised. Before we knew it, last call rolled around and we were closing the place down. One of those nights where time slips by, boots are tired, and that old saying rings true -- you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here. Classic, gritty, full of character, and absolutely worth ending the night at. If you're in the Stockyards and want a real Fort Worth experience, not something polished or pretend, this saloon is it.

The staff gave plenty of attention to regulars, but that same effort didn't extend to us "newbies." I'm not a bartender, but the difference in hand pours between locals and non-locals was noticeable. We sat at the bar so I could hear the orders being placed. We each had one drink and decided to leave. The lively atmosphere fits the Fort Worth vibe, and the bathrooms were fun with a classic western theme, which was a nice touch. Overall, this feels like a place best enjoyed if you're already part of the regular crowd -- otherwise, the experience is pretty underwhelming.

I totally…read moreunderstand them taking safety precautions, but in my opinion, if people are ready to go to a bar, they are ready to have some fun and play the games/entertainment available. The bartenders were very nice and accommodating. The bar was clean and semi-busy. All drinks were pretty standard. Nothing extravagant or different. Please open your pool tables and dart board, it will double business and give your patrons more reasons to come out and play. Other guests were also complaining about the pool tables and dart board being unavailable. We would have stayed a lot longer if it was available. We would definitely return and highly suggest everyone to try this place. Especially if you are looking for a casual, no-nonsense bar. The music is good, but not too loud. You can still talk to the person next to you.

No greeting, no eye contact, just came off annoyed that we were even there. When we tried to order, she was already snapping at us and then started cussing at our group. It wasn't just us either, she was talking like that to other people around the bar too. It made the whole vibe uncomfortable. We tried to play pool and didn't realize she was holding the white cue ball. We moved the table a little thinking it was fine and she immediately shut it down and said we couldn't play at all instead of just explaining it. Felt like an overreaction. Then I asked for a bucket of beer and she said aggressively she'd give me six beers but not a bucket... for no real reason. At that point it just felt like she didn't want to serve us at all. Not sure what she has going on, but that kind of service is not it. Definitely not a good look for the bar. I wouldn't come back and I'd rather spend my money somewhere else
