When I came it was 104 degrees and no breeze. Our group had tried to be seated an another restaurant in the main stretch of the stockyards but the wait was quoted to be 40+ minutes and it was still not cool inside that restaurant(!) Coming to Billy Bob's was the best choice we could've made that day. $6 admission for A/C was a no brainer. BB saved me from passing out and or crabbiness. The BBQ was good but I had overheated and only ordered the sausage for the sake of trying it while I was in TX. My son got a massive burger and fries which he said was delicious. $11 Half lb pepper sausage $10 fried pickles $14 Jack & jalapeno burger There are numerous bars everywhere, gift shop at the entry, an arena by the main bathrooms, pool tables scattered about ($2 to play) and a stage near the restaurant. It was nice being able to enjoy live music and relax. Love the dimmed setting, wooden tables, metal hardware and fixtures, repurposed barrel tables, and neon lights. Since we were already heading to the Stockyards, we were recommended to check out Billy Bob's Texas, especially because I brought my friend visiting from Ireland who was super interested in country line dancing! General admission is pretty reasonable--usually around $6 to $8 depending on the day and time you go. The place is absolutely massive!! I had no idea that it was so big!! Not only is there a whole dedicated dance floor but tons of pool tables, arcade games, and even a full indoor rodeo arena for live bull riding! I was misled and thought there was a mechanical bull.. there is not unfortunately but there is like a fake bull you can pay and take photos with. We happened to walk in right in the middle of a line-dancing class, which was super fun to watch! It's pretty amazing how quickly the dancers, both men and women, picked up the steps and choreography. They were all super good! Afterwards, it transitioned into open floor dancing, which was equally entertaining in my opinion! As a first-timer, it was a total blast and it's easy to see why it's such an iconic tourist destination. We didn't end up eating here since we had just grabbed dinner at Cattlemen's nearby, but the BBQ and other food options here didn't look super appetizing. Well I rarely come to Billy Bob's as I am absolutely not a fan of country music at all, usually I only come here once a year in December when the Toadies play their annual show but today I'm here for a totally different reason Burger week! So when I arrived the parking close to Billy Bob's was ridiculously priced from $15 to $25 and for what? This is a Sunday at 1:30 p.m. there's no events going on so it makes zero sense to me to be charging that much for parking, ended up parking across the street still cost me $8 and then much to my surprise when I arrived at the door to go eat at The Honky Tonk kitchen inside they charged a $6 daily admission fee and again there was no show or event so this irritated me and yet I still paid it. I arrived in The Honky Tonk kitchen and ordered the burger special for the week which was a big burger with jalapeno bacon Jam and a fried egg it was a good Burger but definitely needed more of the jam and My Egg was overcooked and barely had any yolk otherwise this could have been high ranking Burger unfortunately it was not. So overall not bad but not great and if they do Burger Week here next year I probably would not come and that is mostly based on the parking and entry fees. read more

I've lived in Fort Worth my whole life and I had never neen to Billy Bob's until now?? It can look really unassuming from the outside, but once you enter it's like a whole other world! There are multiple areas in the establishment but bar's everywhere you you don't have to go extremely far for drinks. We came for a MMA event and had a great time exploring the venue itself. There are different foods in various locations, you just have to pay attention to the LED signage. We ended up at the pizza station but there were other places with salads, wings and other things. Service overall at the food places was good and staff around the venue was also very nice. We'd definitely come back to hang out with friends. read more

My review is based on my personal experience while attending a concert!! Ordering my tickets seemed to be easy, a floor plan of the seating arrangement is layout to select how close you want to seat by the stage. Also the floor plan provided on their site shows where the end seats are if you are like me prefer to have easy access to leave your seats if needed. Pricing was reasonable for a night out to hear an artist you listen to on the radio! When we arrived and taken to our seats. What a HUGE disappointment!! The floor plan shown online was nothing like it was that night and discovered that the end seats I ordered for easy access to get up if I needed to was not the case. The tables are so close together that leaves for no room to sit comfortably and worst of all we couldn't have a waiter come to you during the show to order drinks! Our table was but against another table and allowed for no way to get up for a drink or bathroom break at all!!!! We were unable to order a drink during the show because our waiter could not even get us to check on us to place an order. The concert and artist was awesome! We had an overall great time at the concert but I am not sure if we would return again if the seating arrangement online does not match how the tables are placed the day of the event! Some people prefer to order seats at the end for a reason and when the floor plan does match on the day of the event it really can ruin their experience. Overall Billy Bobs is a nice venue, the staff is great, the bartenders are awesome and the restrooms are open and clean. Be prepared to spend top dollar for drinks or shots! I almost lost my mind when I realized I could pay to sit on a stuffed bull for a ridiculous photo op, which, obviously, I had to do. The energy in there is just pure, unadulterated Texas fun. People are tearing it up on this massive dance floor, the live music is blasting, and the whole vibe is just wonderfully chaotic and silly. Brisket was fair for the most part but when I went back for seconds, found a few fatty pieces that others had passed on that were excellent. Pulled pork would be fine for most people I suppose but I am a snob On this dish and have yet to be to a bbq joint that makes it better than mine. The potato salad and beans were absolutely ace and the peach cobbler was great too. Beer selection was lacking IMO because I typically only drink crafts beers. We came in after watching the cattle drive at Fort Worth Stockyards. It's been an iconic concert and rodeo venue for years. The nickname is "The World's Largest Honky Tonk" . It's huge -- lots of space to eat, drink, dance, watch bull riding, or just hang out without being in a crowd. Many famous Texas and national artists have played here and there is a wall of fame, guitar pick wall, and back stage pass collection! In addition, there are pool tables, a dance floor, concert stage, and bull riding on Friday and Saturday nights. There is a restaurant but can get busy so see if they have reservations. We did not eat food. This week the artists playing are Drake Milligan and Stoney Larue. We loved the laid back feel of Billy Bobs. A great place to see a concert, eat, or dance. read more

You listen to a little Tyler Childers and go, well, he's alright, and then four years in Lubbock, Texas and you're a Treaty Oak Revival super fan. Billy Bob's is the mecca of honky tonk in Texas. A chapel of Red Dirt. I can't line dance. I don't own a pair of boots. I can drink a Lone Star, though. After seeing Gavin Adcock smashing tables or Fred again.. dancing with his family after two nights at Dickies with an Aaron Watson song in the background, I wanted my moment at Billy Bob's. I was in Fort Worth for a work conference, and I made sure the task was clear. We must go to Billy Bob's. On a casual Wednesday, my team and I went. It was Ladies Night, so most got in free. There's so much history inside the walls. Signed handprint slabs, walls of photo pass and all-access stickers, and plenty of soul. My co-workers played a crazy high-level game of pool while I watched Texas Tech lose the first game of the WCWS to Texas tragically. We then watched people line dance to the classics as well as the Trolls version of "September," which was more confusing than anything else. This place is an oasis for music. Coming here for an out of state family visit and stepped inside to look at the legendary Billy box entered after dinner with my children and our family at four because we decided to visit with children. We wanted to do family friendly things so we venture to take a family photo upon approaching the booth unable to hear the young lady if you want to call her that we were greeted with hateful speech, verbal assault, and told to get the hell out of her booth, this was uncalled for unnecessary and then upon trying to reach management we were told the booth is an outside vendor nonetheless, it is representative of the famous Billy Bob's I encourage you not to spend a dime here. I can't remember the last time I was here. However, my cousin wanted me to join her for a concert so I did! I had such a great time! There was lots to see! First of all, they have a friendly staff. A male Cowboy showed us where to go and a female Cowgirl said, Y'all enjoy! It's the southern hospitality that gets me every time and never gets old! Billy Bob's has a Gift shop, a Mechanical Bull, a BBQ concession, a Pizza Concession and has the best Popcorn for $3.00! You can buy a drink and get free refills too! They also have several large bars. Our Waitress came around several times to check on us. The Restrooms have been remodeled and there are many stalls. The temperature is just right and they have two Dance floors! The sound system is stellar too! It's just the right volume. You are able to hear the person next to you. This was my first Billy Bob's experience since moving to Fort Worth and it wasn't quite like what I expected. Our dance instructor was good, but Billy Bob's had set up instruments on the stage, so it was impossible to actually see her. This made learning the steps pretty difficult, especially for those on the back of the dance floor. The dance floor was smaller than I expected and our group struggled to fit. I ended up having to leave after 2 dances because there just wasn't enough space. Overall, it was a fun night, but I wish Billy Bob's had made a few tweaks (like clearing the stage for the instructor) since we had reserved the space. I would like to come back for Ladies' Night and try dancing again because it is a fun atmosphere. I'll skip the food though, as I saw several really large roaches running around in the hour that we were there. read more

The band sorta ruined it. There I said it. My first time in a true Texas setting. And this is and should be the place. Staff was friendly, people were attractive and in good spirits, spacious, clean bathrooms, pool tables, gift store, well air-conditioned, and lots to offer. I loved taking it all in. But then the live band started playing. Slow, long periods of each member vamping and soloing, all originals (which is ok if I had something to tap my foot and nod my head to), very little people on the dance floor. My friends and I tried to do some line dancing, and it felt like the dancing was doing double-time to the band's tempo. The band itself definitely had talent. Vocals were on point. Who knew Billy Bobs had conference space for business meetings and presentations? Well, they do. We had a meeting for about 15 people over 2 days in their conference room. The room was dark but sufficient for our needs. We had sandwiches and chips for lunch one day and breakfast and lunch the second day. The food was actually good. We had turkey sub sandwiches and later on, a popcorn and cookie snack time. The snickerdoodle cookies were good and soft like pillows. The next morning we had eggs, potatoes, gravy, and bacon along with fruit. For lunch, we had pulled pork and brisket sandwiches, beans and Cole slaw with banana pudding for dessert. You had to order soft drinks, guess we didn't request with our package but the pink lemonade was delicious. I drank an abundance of it over the two days there. They had a beautiful wall of mounted game and many photo opportunities throughout the facility. Lots of county western memorabilia. I stopped in mid afternoon on a Thursday. I was a little surprised that we were charged to even enter. I believe it was $3 a person, but kinda weird since you have to pay for drinks and everything else once inside. Inside, it was pretty empty at this time of day. We were able to walk up to the bar and get served drinks right away. It would have been better if there was louder music playing because it felt SO quiet, especially because the building is extremely large and not many people were in there. The building has a lot of things inside for entertainment. A stage where performances would be, a restaurant, pool tables, and a photo op area for old-time bull photographs. This is the Disneyland of honky-tonks. The square footage is incredible. The interior design provides a classic country-western aesthetic. There are lots of pool tables. The entire place is lined with bars. There is a diner on one side, and a pizza kitchen on the other. Their burgers have a fantastic char-grilled flavor. There is a place to get your picture taken on a lookalike bull, as well as a large gift store During my first visit, on a Friday night, I got to witness live bull riding in the indoor barn. On the concert stage, live music by Creed Fisher started off with the national anthem played by rock guitar. On the dance floor, I two-stepped with girls from Dallas, Kansas City, and Maine. The next day, I returned at lunchtime for the two line dance lessons, than purchased some souvenir gear from the gift store. read more

What a blast this place was! Been here a few times in the Ft. Worth area and the Stockyards is a must. Can't come to the Stockyards and not swing into Billy Bob's. Lots of things to explore and experience here. Catch yourself some bull riding, a show or concert, play some games, get some food and drinks... check out the gift shop, the works. We always come here with a group of friends, to just grab some drinks and some ciao and hang out and visit. It's a perfect place in atmosphere for that. This is a cute tourist spot but I will say this.... Bring a jacket!! It is FREEZING in this place!! (So much for the cute outfits!) Even Bar staff and servers wear long sleeves and sweaters. Also- if you are going for a concert.... Dont be prepared to be blown away. The acoustics SUCK! We brought our daughter here for some dancing after having one of the worst meals of our lives at Joe T. Garcia. They have a cover fee, which is pretty lame, but not surprising. Since we were there on a random Tuesday night, the place was pretty sparsely populated, which actually felt nice because it is humungous! We got a couple Shiners and a Shirley Temple and made our way over to the dance floor area. Service was pretty brusque, unfortunately, but all the patrons we were there with were friendly, so that made up for it. The dance floor is shockingly small considering how insanely spacious the overall structure is. Incidentally, there was going to be a class given 45 minutes after we arrived, so we decided to stay out late because our daughter was having the time of her life. It's a really supportive environment! Before the class started, she was out on the floor, and the expert folks out there took her under their wing and were showing her moves. It was so sweet! And while the instructor of the class wasn't great, it was still a good time, and everyone on the dance floor was having fun. Nice vibes. This place is a Texas institution, and while one of us had been before many moons ago with friends, it was nice to come back as a family.
