So much fun! This reminded me so much of "Whose Line is it Anyway?" with the piano player and all. They have some really talented people here and I'm so happy to find out about this place from a friend of mine. The seats were comfy and the improv guys were really good at guiding those who were voluntold to participate so they didn't feel so awkward. I will definitely be back and bring some friends along. I went to see "All is Calm" on Sunday afternoon. The play was only a little over an hour but SO much was packed into this time. The mixing of letters from service members with songs of the period made for a very moving experience. Everyone of the cast had an excellent singing voice and the accents they used when speaking made the words come alive. I would HIGHLY recommend seeing this play. read more

Penelope is one of the best musicals I've seen. The actress/singer who played Penelope was outstanding in every way. The myth is familiar, but this presentation brought the story into today's world very skillfully. The music was perfect for the play. Kudos to all involved in bringing this show to Stage West. read more

Highly recommend Stage West's current production of "Penelope". The lead, played by Cara Statham Serber, was excellent in voice. But her ability to artfully tell the story of The Odyssey from Penelope's viewpoint while she awaited the return of her husband, Odysseus, was exceptional! An added plus was the pre-show availability to have dinner in the Stage West's Cafe. Overall, a great place to dine and enjoy live theatre. read more

Went and saw this amazing play Friday evening. Probably one of the best plays they have ever presented. First, the great, staff at Stage West are exceptionally kind and helpful. They have a good bar and some delicious desserts. They also exhibit different art each play, which is always fantastic. Now for the not so great, they have recently changed their policy to where only vaccinated people can attend the Sunday matinee performance. In all the years I have been a subscriber, I have always attended the Sunday matinee. I am not vaccinated and don't plan to be, so unless this policy changes prior to ticket sales for next season this will be my last year as a subscriber, as the late evening performances do not work with my schedule. read more

What an amazing venue!! We are here for a performance of Once Upon A Mattress. Opted to try dinner at the cafe located on premises and we were not disappointed. Our table was ours for the evening. Our intermission desserts and drinks will be ready for us! Our server was top notch! I'll be back with a review of the show! We like this place. It's homey. It's a small community theater that makes you feel like you're at your friends house. They have a bar and you can make reservations for dinner (served in the lobby)before your show. We have never gone for the dinner, but the food always looks good and we have heard good things. They occasionally do open houses, and everything we've sampled at those has been very tasty. Every show we have seen (4 or 5 so far) has been a quality production. The sets are inventive and the actors/actresses have all been very good. We live within walking distance and several of our neighbors have season tickets. I'll let you in on a SECRET... you can purchase any unsold tickets for $10 each (cash only) 10 minutes before the show starts. Simply can't beat that! read more

Dinged a star for the 5 minute Covid speech (where they incorrectly stated they were the only show open).... Seriously, we're over a year and a half into this in DFW... We are over Covid. Move on. Show (scrouge in rouge) was great- witty actors who nailed their jokes time and time again. My main reason for reviewing- everything I found online said happy hour only existed if you had season passes. And the website said no drinks inside. Wrong!! There's a bar & you can get drinks before the show and during intermission and bring them in (ya know, it's helps the jokes, right?). $6-8 beers & they have wine, I think I heard they had a few light appetizers. read more

My Season Tickets for Stage West (5th year, I think) ALWAYS result in a superb experience!!! Great selection of plays that are expertly delivered...every time. Also, wonderful Community Events (like their First Tuesday) and a TERRIFIC restaurant (Lobby Cafe) completes each theatre event. Employees like Nick (Box Office Manager) who knows Season Ticket Holders by name and is the epitome of service and Katie (who sparkles while delivering amazing service. She remembers just what each "Regular" likes and how they like it...). The Actors are superb (every time) and the Staff works seamlessly to ensure everyone's satisfaction. If You don't have Season Tickets, you should consider this venue. I'm betting You will be thrilled with the experience(s). read more

An absolute gem in Fort Worth. As a FW native I only regret not really discovering this theater until recent years. I have since gotten season tickets twice and seen 12 or more plays, each one has been fantastic. The cafe makes the overall experience even better, as you can come early, enjoy happy hour and dinner , and have your dessert and coffee waiting at your table during intermission. The portions are generous and they even box up your meal and have it waiting for you at the end of the show! I recommend everyone I know to come see a show here. It's a great experience. read more

Stage West Theatre. First Tuesday of every month Jazz music at Stage West has picked musicians that are cream of the crop to play popular jazz tunes that had me tapping my feet away! Attended between Riverside and Crazy on Friday 8/27. Worst play ever. Nice theater and well made stage and scenes. Acting was total crap. The f word was used on stage about 150 times in the first act. The n word was also used relentlessly. Upon dates suggestion we left at intermission, never to return. A total waste of $95 and a great venue and stagehand work. Could not have been more disappointed with the quality of production. read more

This is a very nice little theater. We came to opening night of the show "Deer", and had a great time. The theater itself is in sort of a sketchy area, we had to park far away from the entrance and walk a ways, but parking is free. They have a cafe inside, and you can pre-order drinks and dessert for intermission, but when I asked where they got their desserts the woman told me Costco, so I passed. The theater itself is very intimate, with stadium-style seating and comfy chairs. We were in the second row, very close to the stage, and the show was fantastic. World-class actors, great direction, a dark and funny comedy. They had some technical difficulties at the beginning that delayed the start, but it was opening night, understandable. Restrooms were small but clean, and even at intermission there wasn't a line. After the show there was champagne and a little cold-cuts buffet, to celebrate opening night, a very nice touch. We were in a hurry to get home so we didn't stay, but it looked like a nice spread. read more

I live in north Dallas and so making the trek to this theatre was -difficult-, but I can tell you it's absolutely worth it. Not just for the awesome show I got to see, Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play (which is completely amazing and I hope you catch it before its gone), but also because the theatre itself is AWESOME. They have wine/beer/great food in the lobby, and I highly suggest you get here an hour or so early for your show and take advantage. Friday nights they do a prix fixe where you can prepay for dinner before the show AND get a ticket to the show! Amazing deal! They also save your dessert for intermission! On top of that their seats are fantastic. Comfortable, tiered seating which means you always have a great view of the stage no matter what, and great/friendly staff. I wish they weren't so far away so I could see every show they do! read more

I have seen two play at this theatre (The Rivals and Heroes) both performances were amazing with great energy and very entertaining. This theatre has a small kitchen that serves food. I haven't try anything yet. :/. I heard they have "delicious deserts". They also have drinks: red/white wine, beer and a selection of hard liquor. I had a glass of Chardonnay it was refreshing. It cost me $5. with tip. Drinks are allowed in the theatre, which I think it's awesome. If you have time, please stop by, you'll enjoy the plays. Recently saw a great performance at Stage West. The staff was friendly and knowledgable. The actors were phenomenal and the stage set was very professional. We were able to get great seats by ordering a little in advance, but there's not a bad seat in the house. And they have a nice season tickets package with lots of flexibility. A little tricky to find, but plenty of parking and you can eat/drink before/after the show. A gem in the Arts world of Fort Worth. They should consider a brief discussion after the play--there was much to discuss regarding the show we saw. read more

We went to Stage West this evening to watch "The Amazing Acro-cats". Funny show and great for kids. We enjoyed the venue as well. We have always heard about Stage West, but have not been previously. We did order a few soft drinks from the counter and also noticed they served beer and wine and well as a limited number of snack type items. We didn't try any, as we ate before attending the show. The bathrooms appeared to have been recently renovated and were very clean. We'll be back to Stage West (everyone has a great view of stage) and to The Amazing Acro-cats. read more

I love Stage West. It was a good venue several years ago, but it is a great venue now! Cafe is good, bar (especially the wines) selection is good and the plays are great! Some of the best talent in the DFW area, or anywhere else, for that matter, grace these two stages with wonderful plays. FORT WORTH GEM. A MUST VISIT VENUE. It only took us two shows before we became Season Ticket Holders and donating patrons. Each show is very unique and very intriguing. The staff is super friendly. They leave my wife and I talking about them all the way home. If you are looking for an amazing evening out, this is an awesome option. Casual weekend date, fancy night out, the place is a great fit for either. They also offer dinners on some of the weekend showings and have a full bar. The food is okay, but that's not what makes the place so special. We are absolutely hooked and look forward to each and every show!! read more

Theater allow us to have experiences not possible in every day life. Theatre offers entertainment and education. We grow. And in some ways we become better patrons and people. This play, I Wanna F*cking Tear You Apart, is a textbook example of that experience. The first act left me wondering where it was going. I did not connect with, identify with or sympathize with the characters. I was outside of their life experience. But, something happened in the second act. I don't know where or when, but everything changed. I think it was the incredible acting talent of Ellen Eberhardt as Sam. Her ability to communicate her emotions was amazing while being almost subliminal. She drew me into her world. I won't try to explain the experience. I am not sure that I can. But, I encourage all to attend this performance. I hope that you too will grow and increase your awareness and empathy while sitting comfortably in a theater seat. It is worth every penny of the admission price ... and then some. read more

If every theatre were like Stage West, I think going to theatre would be a much more popular activity. We just went to see Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play (which I highly recommend if you see this review before the show closes in September). I set us up with a dinner reservation in addition to the tickets. Yes, you read that correctly. They are operating a really nice little restaurant in the front lobby of this theatre. You can do dinner and the theatre all in one place AND with free parking. It's a miracle! The restaurant was featuring some Simpson's themed foods for the play, which leads to me to believe they rotate the menu for each show. They had a couple of vegetarian options which is fantastic for a menu that isn't overly large. Reservations are a must, they purchase food based on the number of people dining in. Alcohol was miraculously reasonably priced. This is where shit gets really good, because you can take your drinks into the theatre with you. Yes, that includes your entire bottle of wine. If you aren't lushes like us, you can also pre-order a drink and even a dessert to be waiting for you at your table during intermission. So awesome! We were really excited to see this show and miraculously, there were quite a few young people in the theatre (by young I mean late 20's, early 30's - not children). We overheard an employee saying the theatre is working on producing plays that will bring in younger audiences. This show definitely hit the mark - dystopia, the Simpsons, and music mash-ups in a world without electricity? It was fantastic and the cast was stellar. I'm officially a fan of this theatre and will be keeping an eye on their upcoming season. Seriously, it's going to be hard to want to see plays anywhere else after this truly lovely and fun experience. read more

Really enjoyed this venue! It holds a good amount of people but is still an intimate size. They also let you pre-order drinks for intermission so when you come out, a table is set up with your drinks and name card. We got there fairly close to show time and parking wasn't a problem. (Slightly dodgy-looking area nearby, but again, it wasn't really a problem.) We went to see Avenue Q a week ago or so (great show as always, love the cast), but as we were leaving an employee (manager, I suspect) had cornered a patron who had (allegedly?) snapped a photo at some point in the show. The manager was sternly insisting the woman show her her phone so that she could ensure she had deleted the photo. I'm not sure about the legality of all that but I'll have to look it up. In any case, don't take pictures, it's rude anyway! ;) read more

I drove all the way out from North Dallas to this place!!! I took theatre this semester and was required to see 2 plays and write a critique about them. I came out to see Avenue Q and Starbright and Vine. It is a small theatre...but not so small that you are cramped. It has a very cozy and intimate feel. There is not a bad seat in the house unless the set obscures certain views. There is a little dining area in case you want to eat dinner...get a snack...or even an adult beverage. Its available before the show and during intermission. Avenue Q made me laugh so much...and I needed it after the week I had. Starbright and Vine was great too!! I didnt think I would have liked it...but I did. Come and support the little theatre that could!! It has made me a big fan of theatre and what a way to spend a night out. read more

We went to Stage West for the first time yesterday to see the play "Don't Dress For Dinner " and we were very impressed with the whole experience. The play was laugh out loud funny and the acting was great! Well cast and excellent quality performances! The venue was easy to find and had ample parking close by. Food could be bought before the play even though we did not eat, it is a nice touch and drinks and dessert were available during intermission. We were quite impressed with the whole experience and will go back to future plays there! read more

I am so glad to have found this place! What a wonderful little theater!! It's in the middle of an industrial-looking neigborhood, kinda sketchy, BUT it's truly a GEM. It's a small theater - and SMALL being the key word! There aren't many seats - maybe like a hundred or so? But what a wonderful cozy atmosphere for a live performance! When you first walk in, you're in a big bar area - good beers on tap, enough tables for everyone to sit/stand with their drinks or food. Good bathrooms around the corner (that's key when you're older!!). And a neat little small stage area in the back. We saw "Starbright & Vine" and it was just great. What a lost art - the live stage performance. I think I was the youngest person in the crowd - most everyone else was white-haired or had a walker! But still - I'd go back.
