Very unique, interesting, and eye opening show. Loved that the actors interacted with the audience, made some mistakes--which is totally fine, and provided a real face to what black women are experiencing in their 30s. So glad that I called when I did to get tickets when I did as this is the final weekend and they are sold out! Loved that the actors greeted us after the show and I cannot wait to come back!

However, for a theatre with limited means (poor city funding, low donations in a down market), the compensate with casting excellent talent (both on stage and off) and producing solid shows. There are only about 80 seats, so a subscriptions is a good idea, so you get reserved seating in the center section. Either we got lucky or the timing was right since we did not have anyone in line in front of us. They gathered us in a group with a guide to help everyone navigate through the experience. My son had a great time running around. I love how they kept it engaging for the kids, but some of the activities were too advanced for my toddler to follow. For example, he could not figure out how to find the blue styrofoam roll and place that on the puzzle board to unlock the village. There were also too many kids in the cage area, so it was hard to get him up there to throw the ball at Gargamel. At the end, he did not want to put on the VR goggles, so we went straight to the gift shop. Our favorite activity was the obstacle course. The kids had loads of fun climbing and running to and fro. I personally like the Smurf village, which was absolutely adorable with vibrant colors. You can also meet the Smurf characters for photo-op. It was definitely a fun experience that was not too congested with others. Entrance fee definitely on the pricey side though.

Set design, costumes, choreography, singing, music, acting were all top notch. Some of the things you should know before you go. 1) Parking can be a challenge because they don't have their own garage. There are several garages nearby (about a block walking distance), but you will want to arrive really early to make sure you have time to find a space, make your way to the theater, and find your seat before the show starts. We were coming from Richardson, so we knew we would need over an hour to travel there, but because of the parking situation, we left even earlier at 11:30 am for a 1:30pm show time start. 2) The building is quite modern. They have several entrances, but you may be asked to wait on the street in the elements before they open the doors and start scanning tickets. Be prepared to stand in the elements. 3) The seats are quite narrow and the arm rest is shared with your seat mate. If you are an average sized American, you might find the average seats quite uncomfortable. The person next to me was blubbering through her seat into mine. She was also very enthusiastic tapping along with the beat. Both things were unpleasant for me. There are box seats that have independent chairs. If I return to this venue, I will pay for one of these to avoid feeling like a sardine. They have an amazing line up of shows. I wish they were closer because I would definitely be a season ticket holder so that I could enjoy every single one of their amazing shows.

It was nice to just enjoy the outdoors. There weren't any animals outdoors to view. But it was still super pleasant. I would say skip the special room unless you want to just donate to the center.

Cleanliness of the entire facility is 10/10 and the staff is very friendly and patient. There are lots of interactive displays, and a plethora of history about various topics! There is also a dedicated kids area and café on the first floor. Upstairs you can sit in for a movie in the planetarium, and explore more aviation/space/science based. It's also inspiring to watch the live scientists work in an actual, functioning, lab! There's a plane simulation, and video interviews with military aviation specialists that you can sit and watch. We've been there 4 times, it's always a great way to spend an afternoon!

The artist we saw playing, Don Burke, was very talented. My husband and I watched Pan Arcadia last night, it was a whimsical interpretation of the Peter Pan and Wendy story told by human actors as puppets (but also as themselves). I've got to admit I was very confused as to what was happening for many of the scenes but was able to get the general gist at the end. Let's just say- if you don't already know the Peter Pan story, I imagine you would be hopelessly lost. The live music was wonderful, fitting, soothing, and carried great for being in an outdoor theater. The acting was very sincere. Since you are exposed to the elements you might notice huge insects and spiders but they at least offer complimentary bug spray around the premises. This is a novel way to do date night and definitely worth a try.

It is home to the Hispanic theater company Artes de la Rosa and serves as a venue for other art organizations seeking to provide exciting entertainment to the growing Latino audience of North Texas. Atmosphere: The theater is a little old so it isn't particularly "fancy", but it is a comfortable and nice space with great views at every seat. The space definitely falls into a typical community theater venue set up. Productions: I've only seen two productions here, but both were good and worth the affordable ticket price. Bonus: One must see at the theater is a space that is actually next door to the stage. The Rose Marine has a terrific small gallery space that always has something unique with a Hispanic focus!
