The current play, "Kitchen Witches" is very entertaining, funny and also touching. The play takes place in a run down recreation center. We saw a performance of White Christmas on November 30. It was wonderful. The talent of the four leads (and the entire cast) was remarkable. The intimate theater practically puts you on the stage. Tucked away behind the strip shopping center, whole operation has a community/family sense to it. Very friendly and communal. There are refreshments intermission. Highly recommended for a laid-back, entertaining evening of live theater. We will be back! read more

I have been to three shows here now and have been impressed with every one of them. This is community theater at a high level. While the state is not huge, they do an amazing job at utilizing the space that they have. Each time I have walked in and been amazed at the set they have created and how much different it is than the last set I saw. The actors and actresses they find give the performance their full energy and really capture your imagination and take you somewhere else for the two hours of the show. We just went to see their most recent play called "To Die For". This performance was so much fun. There are really three cast members for this production and they are all great. There is no slacking here, with only three they each have to carry a big portion of the performance. I do not want to spoil anything as there are some wonderful twists to the plot and it is so much fun. The crew did a great job on this show as well. The lighting effects are fun and amazing. There are also a couple of other surprises that are cleverly engineered from a production standpoint in the performance. Runway Theatre delivers great performances and provides a great theater experience at a very reasonable price point. Check them out and support their productions. read more

Wait. Stop. Omg. How have I not reviewed this theater before??? I've been coming for at least 20 years. It brings out the inner thespian in me and makes me wish I had pursued acting like I once wanted to. The actors are all just wonderful and I've never seen a bad show here. The line for the bathroom does get long at intermission with only three stalls and lots of ladies, but if that's the worst thing that happens here, we're good. Snacks are inexpensive and beer and wine are complimentary. Make sure to tip the snack bar. I like to buy popcorn and shake m&m's in the box. Parking fills up really fast but there is a strip shopping center next door that you can park in and walk over. This has to be one of the best if not THE best community theater in the area. read more

We have been here once and enjoyed the play, so I decided to join to support the theatre. Unfortunately, my "welcome new member" letter and membership card had my name misspelled. Between Nov. 10 and Nov. 23 I emailed twice and left a voice mail message asking about getting this corrected; it is now November 27 and I have no response at all. Since there will be a performance this weekend it is tough to believe that no one at all in administration has either checked email or voice mail messages. Or, even worse, that they have done so and just didn't care to respond. read more

I've seen a few shows here over the last couple years, the last was The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, which was funny & energetic. Yes, the theater is small, and on opening nights, you can barely get in the door, and spend the remainder of the time bumping into and squeezing through clumps of people. The concessions are really cheap at $1.50 for popcorn, chips, candy bars, and sodas. Every time I've gone, there has been FREE BEER & WINE. I think that is why some people come because I noticed many tipsy people before the show even started. They keep the theater nice and cold, and I was very comfortable during the entire performance. The only con I have about his theater is that I had a problem with one overzealous volunteer who was trying to push the season tickets before we could make it to the ticket booth. Later that night, she was at the concession stand, and became too flustered to answer my question if they accepted credit cards for payment. I still don't know, and I was shooed away. read more

We love live theater. We found this location with reasonable price tickets. This place was hard to find. The maps don't give accurate pin point location, and the signage is almost invisible. We had a good time. It is located a far distance from us (Fort Worth) so it is inconvenient. We would go back and hope to do so. The staff were every nice. The ticket ordering and check-in was very smooth. Concession and clean toilets. Very intimate setting. read more

I love this little theatre. Nothing fancy but the acting is top notch. We saw The Great American Trailer Park Musical and it was hysterical. Just a few blocked from downtown it would be easy to pair your night out with a local restraunt. Looking at the upcoming season roster, I know that I will be returning. read more

Love this little theatre. It has been around for 30 years. Very quaint. Only holds about 100 seats, but the shows are wonderful! They do about 6 shows a year and they are on Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday Matinees. They are always looking for new talent also, so it is a great place to get your feet wet acting, directing, sets, costumes, etc. So nice to be able to watch live theatre...beats a movie anyday! read more

The Runway Theatre is fantastic. They generally will put on shows before many of the other venues in town do, plus they have first rate productions. Runway has been around for 31 years, and intimate theatre setting makes you feel you are part of the production. Can't beat the prices of tickets, and the all volunteer staff and actors/actresses all want to be there because it is their passion to be onstage. Great venue, very informal. Great girls night out, date night or even go by yourself. read more

I have been to two shows performed by the Runway Theater and completely enjoyed the first, but had to get up and walk out of the second before the intermission. This was not due to the performance of any of the cast, but the exclusively due to the storyline script. I initially had some reservation with the title, but mistakenly had assumed the title was just a play on words with an inoffensive meaning. Wrong! This was billed as a "comedy" but totally bombed in that regard within the first five minutes and went downhill from there. The fiasco was entitled "Urinetown" ; You may have already gessed; the story was about pissing, or more accurately not being permitted to. Whoever wrote that really should seek some professional help and be closely watched. read more
