One of my sons loves art and couldn't wait to walk around this interactive museum. I thought I was bringing my boys to admire the art and to have a good time, but I too had a very enjoyable experience. We visited on a Thursday, a little after noon. It was not too busy at the time, so we were able to truly enjoy the experience without a crowd of people. When we first walked in, we were surprised to find an entire house behind the door. That was the first of the surprises Meow Wolf held. I will not spoil all of the surprises here, but I must say that we were pleasantly surprised as we went through the exhibit. I could tell a lot of work went into making the various rooms and art in the rooms, and I commend the artists' creativity and downright ingenuity. It is true that everything won't appeal to everyone, and I do not know anyone who likes all music that comes on the radio, all art in a museum, or all books that are in a bookstore. The things that we liked, we savored, and the things that we did not like (which wasn't much), were ignored. As I made my way through some of the exhibits, I felt like a child in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. The colors were so vivid, and the art in some areas just seemed to pop off the wall. My sons love having the ability to touch and interact with the art and not just look at it. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and are already planning our return.

However, for a theatre with limited means (poor city funding, low donations in a down market), the compensate with casting excellent talent (both on stage and off) and producing solid shows. There are only about 80 seats, so a subscriptions is a good idea, so you get reserved seating in the center section. It's small enough that no seat in the house is to far away or obstructed. The cast was very entertaining and got both laughs and tears from the audience. We were able to pick up our tickets at will call inside relatively quickly upon entering. The staff greeted us and were very friendly and informative. We were given our programs and made aware that it can be a bit chilly inside the theater but that there were blankets available for use set up just outside where you would enter. There is a small snack bar in the lobby area. I believe you can take drinks in but not the food (can't remember 100%) there was a 15 minute intermission in between acts to be able to go to the restroom or grab a quick snack/drink. The actors were great, each very into their part. For it being open night there was only one line flub that I noticed BUT we have watched the movie about a million times so I'm sure anyone who hadn't did even catch it. Very happy with the entire production! I'm was nervous when picking seats because I couldn't find any information on if the seats were all the same level or not. For those wondering themselves, they were not it was raised like stadium seating. The theater itself is pretty small so seats go right up to the stage. The floor at the very front is reserved as a handicap area. At the end if the show we were all invited by the staff to stay for wine and cake to celebrate opening night with the cast. The production was well done, the regulars are all good, the music was lively, and the show had everyone clapping, hooting and hollering. The Grapevine Opry is a must see if you find yourself anywhere near Grapevine, or even if you must make a bit of a trip. They combine local talent, patriotism, a bit of the gospel, some country, a bit of corniness, lots of energy, with great choreography for a thoroughly entertaining evening. A bonus to attending the Opry is that it is right in old downtown Grapevine so there are lots of restaurants and places to stroll nearby. Go!

Did not do much research on the place I went because I played in this production when I was in High School. Imagine my surprise when we arrived and found out it was high school students. Well let me tell you the production was first rate. We laughed and were very impressed with the performance. The dance scene at the end of Act I was FANTASTIC!. I encourage you to go support these kids and what they are doing there. We were probably the only ones that were not family and friends of the cast and that is too bad this place should be packed out every night. I have always enjoyed the excellent acting and set production. Always very high quality for a small community theater. But the last 2 plays that I have attended where not family friendly. The use of language through out and very offensive has now soured me on this theater and probably the whole community theater experience. I would not bring my child (when she is old enough) or my parents and I would not invite my friends because I would be nervous of what might be said. To me this is not a family friendly venue, which is the very reason I have enjoyed it so in the past. Please, Coppell Theatre, consider your audience.
