They had a 3 Man crew with a harp, bass, and small guitar and they rocked the restaurant. Our friends in attendance made requests and they knew most of the songs and performed them with passion. I didn't go look outdoors near the mini gallery area but it looked serene and cozy to be one with nature, etc. The stage was roomy enough for 15+ dancers and comfy for a smaller audience to watch in stadium style seating. We…read morewent to see a family friend perform in a play and unfortunately arrived 5 minutes after the show began and the man at the door, "Steve" told us that we could not enter due to the show having already started. He said if we had arrived a few minutes earlier he would have let us - by this point it was about 8:07 pm. When we told him our situation he said that he was on the Board of Trustees and couldn't do anything about it. He was clearly on a power trip and told us that the show was supposedly sold out even though there weren't many cars in the parking lot. I've been to many shows in different venues both nationally and internationally and even on Broadway they don't do this kind of bs. I'm very disappointed by this kind of treatment as it drives away community support.

An outsider from the area might not be aware that the City of Garland has an Arts center in its…read moreold downtown. There are musicals and plays put on in this beautiful theater! However, I was here for a more somber score. I was here with a few hundred to learn of the latest trends in Storm Spotting and weather RADAR analysis put on by local amateur radio clubs, the City of Garland and the Ft Worth Office of the National Weather Service. Some in my group would argue that severe weather systems are works of art as in their violence can be awe inspiring sights which are sometimes captured by camera. Of course there are also many photos of destruction after really bad storms. The center has clean restrooms, space for vendors to set up tables in the lobby and room for food trucks outside. The seating is very comfortable and was able to keep me happy for the full day of information presented to help keep our communities and us spotters safe.

Look. I get the financial reasons behind switching this from a dine-in to counter pickup. I do not…read moreblame the wonderfully kind and hard working staff here. The system just doesn't work now, unless you show up 15-20 minutes early to your movie. The lines for concessions are not manned enough, causing long line waits, and after hot food is ordered, you have to wait 5-25 (my longest was actually 27) minutes to retrieve it at the counter. They took away online pre-ordering, which other AMC locations seem to still be able to do. Thus, cannot order ahead of time, thus, I don't get concessions unless i am comfortably early. If anything i'll just go to the bar and ask for a soda to skip the concessions line. I used to spend $20-30 each time I came here with a nice burger, fries, and soda, but now it doesn't even make sense to order the mid hot food (really the pretzel bites are the only thing worth writing home about anyway). I hope management takes the customer experience into account moving forward. This has gone from being my favorite AMC location to one of the biggest eye-rollers.
