Their season subscription is a good savings and will give you a good chance to get a flavor of the sort of talent that gets drawn to the company. If you like, keep attending. You'll enjoy. They often produce their shows at the Dupree theatre at the Irving Arts Center, which they use well.

However, the performance more than made up for the location. We were greeted at the door by actors already in character and the entire venue was set up to feel like a bar/night club. They even had a small selection of water, soda, and beer and a bartender and a waitress. I loved the way the actors used the entire space, sometimes even behind us. I also liked the use of mixed media. I'm not sure if every performance is like this, but I am definitely interested to go to another show and see what they come up with.

For example, I had the pleasure of seeing Davis Gaines (of "Phantom" fame) in their production of "The Night of the Hunter." This was an original production, I believe, and unfortunately I've never seen it go anywhere (it was very good!). They also frequently display art and cultural exhibits that you can look at before the show starts and during intermission. Bathrooms are nice and clean, and the refreshments are reasonably priced. I find the theatre to be one of the most comfortable I've visited. Acoustics are great! We have season tickets and will continue to subscribe in the future. Community-produced, Broadway-quality!

Honestly, the bathroom situation could be improved, because the lines were so long (even for the men's) that I really had just enough time at intermission to go there and back. It's a first world music venue with second world bathrooms. Also, I am not a tall guy, but airplanes have more legroom than the Morton Meyerson. I will give them an A+ on programming though, great show, especially to bridge a cross-generational audience! OK, I know Danny is 74 years old, but the bulk of his fans are much younger!
