It's spring break and I told my granddaughter I would take her somewhere special - I chose Meow Wolf. I was a little nervous bringing here to this place, but she REALLY enjoyed it. We didn't do the scavenger hunt, and we basically went through it on our own, but the story is about a boy and his dreams. You walk through the chimney and all of a sudden you're in what feels like a nightmare - but not too spooky. This was done really well. It's creative. Interesting. But having done it once, I don't feel the need to go back. The pictures will tell the story for me.

Paulina and Gabe at check on were wonderful and so warm. I love meow wolf and have been to Vegas and Sante Fe locations and absolutely love it! Ive seen Santa Fe, Vegas, and now TX and each is mesmerizing. Not too mention it was fabulous seeing it through my friends eyes for the first time!

I figured since we were nearby it was a great time for my partner to get to check out a Meow Wolf location. I'd been to the one in Vegas and didn't know what to expect here. First, it's not a total madhouse. Everyone was quite calm and respectful, not running around acting wild. I figured it would be different but was happy to see it's a completely different theme/experience. It was fun to check out but expect to spend an hour, maybe two here. There isn't that much going on and same goes for food/beverages. Nothing very exciting if you ask me and it's not like a cool fun area to eat in either, but normal cafe style. It's in a strip mall so there's plenty of parking and you might find other things around that interest you. I'd still go but wouldn't bother with the 3D glasses.

Absolutely amazing experience. I was nervous going in, not sure what to expect. The workers were amazing and kind, explaining everything and shepherding us through. The actual experience was insane, I was going through secret passages, seeing insane other worlds, and crawling through Coraline's tube. We got a drink at the bar, it was delicious! I got a coke and asked for cherries in my soda, and they loaded it up! Great bartenders and very nice. The place is AMAZING. if you're on the fence, just go. Just do it. You won't regret it even if it's not your "thing" usually.

Love this place!! It's an art exhibit with a storyline. There are things to explore, see, hear, touch, trade and even smell hidden everywhere! To me, it's kind of nod to Stranger Things. You go in, it's a house but it's not a house if you explore further. start opening up doorways, cupboards, drawers, refrigerators and washing machines! Storyline - a boy and his mom move in with his Auntie. Boy disappears. Nuff said. Go see for yourself, prepare to spend around 2 &1/2 - 3 hours exploring. Do not skip opening up doors or going into closets! At first we thought maybe the doors were just for staff or were exits but we were very wrong! There is also an app for your phone to guide you or just wing it!! Remember, press all the buttons and open all the doors! You will love it as well.

Kid friendly. I brought my 4yo, 2yo, and 10mo and went during the week to avoid crowds. We had way more fun than I expected. The kids warmed up as we explored and played more. They serve adult drinks and popcorn inside, which was a nice bonus. It's so cool and fun, I'm sure we didn't even see everything. We're already planning to go back because my 4yo can't stop talking about it. Such a fun, exciting place to experience all the art.

This was the 3rd Meow Wolf installment I've been to, along with Santa Fe and Vegas. Just as cool as the others. Had a good time exploring and checking out how unreal the real unreal is. Lots of interactive pieces and videos to watch if you want to solve the puzzle, but also fun to just explore. I also added on a cocktail, I believe it was a spicy margarita and it was delicious, bartenders were super nice and made the drink quickly. Def check out this Meow Wolf or others if you're into weird interactive art exhibits.

Such a trippy experience with beautiful art you get to see and feel. Easily could have spent all day here and this would have been a fun activity to being my kids to as well. A little on the pricier side as far as activities go but, well worth the money!

Great experience, especially for kids! Fun atmosphere. Great family fun. Stop by the gift shop for awesome gifts!

TIPS: It is cheaper to buy your ticket well in advance!!! Do not wear dresses bc you will be climbing and crawling to get to different rooms! Experience was pretty fun overall. There is soooo much to see. It took us approximately 2 hours to go through EVERY room! So many different themes happening I think you will find yourself favoriting more than one room. Restrooms were clean, you can go in and out the whole day if you want after purchasing a ticket

Definitely and trippy experience. If you have been to any Meow Wolf production you already know and if you haven't you need to go. I have been to the Vegas one before and this one was different but still connected. I was in town for a conference and the group of coworkers I was with wanted to attend so I tagged along. They offer and veteran/military discount so be sure to take advantage if you are eligible. The experience is interactive and immersive. You have a storyline to flow for a missing kid. As you explore the exhibit you get various clues to learn the full story. Very interesting indeed. We stayed about two hours before we got the story down. They have employees stationed throughout that will give you hints and various missions to complete. You can stay inside as long as you like. They have a bar in the lobby area and a second one hidden inside of you are able to find it. Great fun for a date night or family outing.

Wow!!! That's all I can say! I had never heard of Meow Wolf before and a friend brought me. I had no idea what to expect and I was blown away. This place is so magical, stunning, whimsical and fun! I felt my inner child fully engaged. I couldn't get enough of exploring every room. This is a must see!

Ask the Community - The Real Unreal - Meow Wolf

How does Meow Wolf compare to the Museum of Illusions?

I've only been to the MOI in Austin but I would imagine that its similar to the one in Dallas. Both museums are not exactly comparable. Meow Wolf is more wild and MOI is about optical illusions. I believe Meow Wolf is more expensive, but its also… Read more

We renewed our membership this weekend April 2026 and went to see the Samurai Collection. Metalwork is not a favorite of mine, but I was still fascinated by the stories presented on the placards throughout the exhibit and I certainly appreciated the beautiful, intricate craftsmanship presented in each piece. I didn't realize that the Samurai swords and armor had been banned from production in Japan, so the metal workers pivoted and learned to become artisans. They started to make and repair metal embellishments, lanterns, and incense burners for the numerous temples in the country. Many of the items in this collection were from Kyoto and Nara, both places my husband and I visited in November 2009. The full body armor was fascinating. Little pieces of leather were coated in metal, painted, and woven tightly together to form a moveable, but protective layer over the body. The workmanship was exquisite. The exhibit had a few short videos you could watch to learn about the work. I especially liked the 30 second clip about the process of making cloisonné. These vases are beautiful and the process to make each one is detailed and meticulous. Kids could collect a postcard-sized scavenger hunt near the entrance and use that to stay in engaged throughout the visit. At the end, there was a sign on the wall with the answer key pictures showing which art pieces help the intricate designs they were looking for. The DMA has a permanent collection that includes a variety of art from around the globe, as well as multiple special exhibits throughout the year. Everyone is bound to find something that delights them and inspires conversation and wonder. Worth a visit!

You get to spend as much time as you want going through the small exhibit, and you can come and go out of the immersion room. The music and imagery are on a 30 minute loop. The room is super neat. Very relaxing. There are a bunch of benches and bean bags to sit, or you can sit on the floor. I am not sure if we just picked a good time to go (Sunday at 7:30) or the crowds are not large because there were not many people there. The two times we went inside the room we found seating right away. My favorite part of this experience was paying the $5 for the virtual reality. You sit in a chair and put the VR machine over your head and you start off in Van Gogh's room and descend down the stairs into a field. I have never done VR before, but now I want to do again. You can look every which way and see the scenes that Van Gogh probably saw when he created his paintings. A man's voice talks to you and describes all the scenery. You're in a field/farm area and then go through a little town with he big moon and stars, and then cruise towards to the sea and then you're back in VG's bedroom to end it. It was really cool to feel like you are floating in a painting. I highly recommend this event.
