My daughter and I had an absolute blast at rainbow vomit! We purchased tickets in advance and nearly had the place to ourselves. The staff was very friendly, even giving us a hint after we couldn't find "the secret" which is totally worth it. Lots of fun photo opportunities and areas to explore. The space is small and it will take about an hour to get through. Only reason for 4 stars is there were a couple areas that could have used a dusting but I highly recommend stopping!

Did I enjoy experiencing Rainbow Vomit; yes. I truly loved the whimsical atmosphere the whole immersive exhibit brought to the table. Reading these reviews before and after buying tickets to walk through the establishment, I can see how some may think it is not worth the price they set for this experience. The price should be cheaper, and/or include parking for the short experience you do get out of it. This should take tops one hour to complete, and that's if you take pics and videos of every little detail thing. I reserved a 2pm time slot for my significant other and I a few days before coming here. When we arrived to check in at 2 (that was the earliest time slot you could choose from) the doors were locked. Another customer tried coming at 2 as well and called to find out whoever was running the show that day is running 15 to 20 mins behind. All of us went back to our cars because it was cold and windy, to wait for someone to let us inside. We got to experience the exhibit at 2:30 instead of 2. Not a huge deal of course, the front desk guy was very nice. Just seemed a little disorganized and silly to buy tickets and reserve a time slot ahead of time like the website pushes you to do. No one else was there except for one other couple/party of 2. There are essentially 3 rooms, (a 4th if you find it) the black and white room where the front desk person kind of explains what to do, the comic room where you play dress up, and then the third is the kitchen area that has an upstairs part to it. That's it. In that 3 room experience, it's up to you to figure out the clues to get to the secret room where the unicorn and clouds are. Hint (it's on the second floor) I did love the hidden room the best. Definitely use the clue on the second floor to find the hidden room. I have done other immersive art exhibits in big cities before so that's why one star was removed from this rating. It doesn't compare to other immersive experiences in big cities. This could have been better. Still worth experiencing for sure. Also, the 30 minute delay - that also is why it's three stars and not five. For those taking photos and videos, bring a light. The final room is dim, you'll want photos in that room for sure. They should lower the price of this, but in my opinion, it is done well, creatively. If they added more to this, it would be better. More rooms, more to do. You can complete this in 30 mins or less. I say go but, choose your partner wisely. Pick someone with an open mind to attend this with.

Cool, immersive art experience. At first, I did not know what to make of rainbow vomit. I was pleasantly surprised to see all the artistic set ups. I took so many great pictures here. This reminded me a like smaller Meow Wolf experience. I recommend checking the place out at least once. The staff here were very friendly and passionate about the place. In addition, there is a secret area that has some of the best set up for pictures. So keep an eye out!

    Into the rainbow-verse!

We were here for Meow Wolf for the weekend from California, but also found RV while looking at a map of what was near the Deep Ellum neighborhood. There were some mixed reviews, so we weren't sure we would enjoy it... but we did! You get about an hour, and that is the perfect amount of time to explore the place. It's based on a comic, and the artist(s?) are trying to make it as if you were inside one!!! Sure it's small, but there are lots of funny photo oops, props, and secrets to explore. Some people just happen upon the secrets, and some follow the story and discover the answers like my hubby did. Good for couples and people with small kids!!! I didn't post any photos that give it all away! ‍

What a COOL PLACE. My sister's bachelorette party was in Dallas and we had a day before all her bridesmaids arrived so I googled things to do in Dallas. This was one of many things we decided upon. The place is SMALL. And it's in a random and maybe shady part of downtown Dallas so highly recommend an Uber there and back. When you first walk in there's a desk with a worker who will tell you how the experience works. They'll bring you to the first room which is an awesome comic book, black and white room. Photos are not only encouraged, they also have many photo opps with phone holders too! After the comic book room you'll go through rainbow streamers into the rest of the experience. There is a secret room to be found! Make sure to open anything you can and explore everything as well. I won't ruin the surprise but the room is worth finding!

Came here with my best friend from GA in May, when we had about an extra hour to spend. It is was cute and fun and allowed us to take some cute pictures that we will have til infinitey and beyond. It cost us about $25 and does not take an hour to get through this place. You have to pay for parking or at least give up your email and insert a credit card. There isn't a place to hold your phone in each area, just FYI. The bathroom is pretty cool ask.

Rainbow Vomit is one of those hard to describe new interactive or immersive art experiences. Some of these experiences are interesting and some are just Instagram selfie opportunities? For me, Rainbow Vomit falls more into the second category. Less art, more photo ops. It was a little too silly, too little substance for me. My family and I had a good time when we visited a few weeks ago, because it was silly and we got to goof around. But I wouldn't say you should go out of your way to visit unless you're looking for a new profile pic!

Don't bother buying tickets or trying to come here. We bought tickets and showed up to a closed business. We called and nobody answered so we left a voicemail. Someone called back and we were told the employee left before we even bought our tickets due to lack of sales all day. The employee had closed up and left early without turning off ticket sales for the rest of the day. We got all dolled up ready to take photos, drove almost an hour away with our tickets already paid for, and nobody was there. We wasted our time, don't waste yours.

First off I will say the host was so sweet and prep us for the experience to find the hidden room. I went here with my cousin in august and we enjoyed it but it was a very short experience and we were disappointed for the amount of money we spent for the experience we got thru the exhibit under a hour. We took pictures and laughed but other than that it wasn't worth the money.

What a neat time this was. Best photo op in DDW. I wish they had several locations available with different themes. Very well done and photo friendly. Lots of opportunities to have a great time. Art explosion! It was a bit hot, they do have drinks available. I wish I would have known also that the tshirt package I purchased online gives you a size option but once on site they didn't have my size... The host was simply adorable. He was welcoming and helpful. He is an all star! There is parking close by.

In a world now where selfies have been regarded as somewhat of an art form.. (I personally can't believe that came out of my mouth. However, I can't deny facts) A place like Rainbow Vomit doesn't come around much. Almost seems the first of its kind where if you're looking for a setting or environment to help make your photos make your look best. The Art installations from quirky to ethereal. You can tell they obviously put a lot of effort in it. Personally I love it.

This place is amazing for groups or personal photos! To be honest I think it was pretty cool, you get to explore the place at your own pace, and immerse yourself in a different place for a bit. The place is not big by any means, it's actually on the smaller size but there are cool backgrounds all over. I personally don't think it's super kid friendly but there were groups with kids on it, and they seemed to be having fun. The unicorn room was the highlight of the place, it's super magical and the pictures look actually amazing. They have selfie sticks and lamps that you can use to enhanced your pictures, and you are allowed to bring professional cámaras. You can also do style changes but you have to do a different type of reservation for it. The offer drinks to be paid at the end, and parking is behind the building and it's free.

Ask the Community - Rainbow Vomit

Is it handicap accessible? Are electronic scooters allowed?

    What is the secret room?

A room hidden in plane sight, but it is roomy and has lots of fun photo opportunites inside.

Is this worth the price of entry for someone who's been to large-scale interactives like Meow Wolf or City Museum? I live in Austin (and we have some local pop-ups happening here too), but will be in Dallas for Spring Break and was considering it!

I thought this was going to be like Meow Wolf when I went. It's not. It's more about getting the perfect Instagram picture than art. It's also very small and I don't know how you'd spend an hour in it.

    How much do tickets cost?

Tickets are $25 person. A group of 4 or more can get tickets for $15. You should purchase tickets in advance. You may walk-up to purchase tickets upon your arrival, but it's very possible the exhibit may not be able to accommodate you.

We renewed our membership this weekend April 2026 and went to see the Samurai Collection. Metalwork is not a favorite of mine, but I was still fascinated by the stories presented on the placards throughout the exhibit and I certainly appreciated the beautiful, intricate craftsmanship presented in each piece. I didn't realize that the Samurai swords and armor had been banned from production in Japan, so the metal workers pivoted and learned to become artisans. They started to make and repair metal embellishments, lanterns, and incense burners for the numerous temples in the country. Many of the items in this collection were from Kyoto and Nara, both places my husband and I visited in November 2009. The full body armor was fascinating. Little pieces of leather were coated in metal, painted, and woven tightly together to form a moveable, but protective layer over the body. The workmanship was exquisite. The exhibit had a few short videos you could watch to learn about the work. I especially liked the 30 second clip about the process of making cloisonné. These vases are beautiful and the process to make each one is detailed and meticulous. Kids could collect a postcard-sized scavenger hunt near the entrance and use that to stay in engaged throughout the visit. At the end, there was a sign on the wall with the answer key pictures showing which art pieces help the intricate designs they were looking for. The DMA has a permanent collection that includes a variety of art from around the globe, as well as multiple special exhibits throughout the year. Everyone is bound to find something that delights them and inspires conversation and wonder. Worth a visit!

The great thing about Van Gough, is that he has pieces that have been seen, so if any of those don't resonate with you, don't go. Many comments focus on price. And it is not the cheapest activity in town, yet the same can be said if spending $ on a dinner for an "experience". Make sure you know it is an "experience" and not a movie. It hosts three exhibits per year in its gallery and makes grants to museums for the benefit of and to educate others about contemporary artists and their work. I stopped by this past Saturday after a visit to the DMA. I was devasted to miss a past exhibit ("A Room Hung with Thoughts: British Painting Now," when I was visiting Dallas last May - I missed the exhibit by one week), so I was determined not to miss their current exhibit when I was back in town last weekend.
