A very unfortunate day for us during this experience- we went during a Cowboys game- I left my house early enough to get their in plenty of time even with the Cowboys game, but it was a crazy mess down there. Understandably so- but if the VGI would have had better signage and instructions I think it would have made it easier to navigate the area- the VG event had two tiny flags and the parking lot was called Avalon with a tiny LOT E label underneath- Man, that was terrible. Parking is double in game days, but they charged us $30, that was shady. The fever app indicated it would be $20. especially after paying $50 for the ticket- did not intent to spend $80 that day. Womp! Once inside, it seems pretty disorganized, they seemed to be using an excel spreadsheet to find our friends reservation- no luck, but they accommodated us nevertheless. It wasn't very busy at the time. The museum/gallery before entering the immersion room was nice- but not sure it was worth the price tag. Once inside the room, I was a little sad- the room was pretty small, didn't seem to live up to the hype of what you see online or on TV. The staff was kind especially the young man opening the curtain into the immersion room and the virtual reality staff. The staff up front checking the tickets were a little bit frazzled and didn't seem prepared. All in all, it an experience- but was looking for something more grandeur.

I highly recommend this traveling exhibit. I'll happily see it again in KC. There are no actual Van Gogh paintings on display, so that's a bit odd and surprising at first, but I love how it uses his fascinating life and art and legacy in a cool new interesting way to tell stories and get people excited about art and artists. That's to be commended! It's very accessible and easily understood. I'm an art lover and have visited museums all over the world, but I still found this really fresh and cool. It's perfect for kids about 4 and older. They will love the 3D aspects and the virtual reality experience. It's all just very colorful and a true feast for the senses.

"It is good to love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is well done." ~Vincent Van Gogh "I dream my painting and I paint my dream." ~Vincent Willem van Gogh "Be clearly aware of the stars and infinity on high. Then life seems almost enchanted after all." ~Vincent Van Gogh - Give experiences! Experiences are exponentially more valuable than stuff. So I gave my granddaughter, Autumn, and her mommy and daddy tickets to the Van Gogh Experience! It's Van Gogh on media steroids where you are enveloped in and by the art. Fine art should be a metaphysical, exestential experience where there is intimate communication between the art and its lover. Art should be sensual, and this is. You should Van GO. -

Really really sucks. False advertising and not located where advertised. Do not waste money on this amateur show.

Great date night activity. We spent an extra couple of dollars for the virtual reality piece and really enjoyed it.

Boring. Incredibly overpriced and overhyped. The novelty wears off pretty quickly, and the security and requirements are a bit over the top.

I highly this interesting exhibit, with caveats. It was very informative and I saw many new and…read moreinteresting details about the Sistine chapel that I had never realized. You will learn the extreme lengths Michelangelo went to over 4 years to create these paintings. You will see up close the fine detail and will learn where Michelangelo's self portrait is and why he portrays himself this way. Do NOT SKIP the audio device. I bought a VIP package, and the clerk only gave me the option to scan a bar code and listen on my cell. I did not being ear buds so this was a waste to me. Later, as the exhibit got busier, I saw the audio devices, so that was annoying that I wasn't given that option. Finally, the paintings followed a good flow but the informational panels and accompanying audio are numbered and the numbers do not match the flow. The hand held devices could simply scan in. I had to scroll through a website. I also did not like the lighting. While this is a temporary exhibit, the lighting could have been improved. I was not impressed with the exposed extension cords. Each exhibit had a stand alone light fixture, and most of the cord was tucked away. But the plugs were exposed. Finally the light itself was harsh. It looked good on the wall, but was glaring when you needed to read the informational panel. I bought a book for $12 at the end. It essentially shows each panel separately and contains the same information as the wall description. I would have loved to have this in my hand while walking through. Finally, don't miss the video presentations. I do recommend this exhibit. If they would spend a little extra effort, I would make it a high recommend.
