I had to write about this soon before I forget the experience! I wish I could go again just to take my time. His actual artwork wasn't there, but the visual effects in the exhibition were definitely sensory triggered; leaving mental images. This alone describes exactly what Van Gogh's art does - leave an image and even a lasting impression on the viewer. Along the tour there are QR codes that provide a link to more information about the artist and his particular works of art. You'll be able to keep and share the information. Example: vangogh.panel.015 and vangogh.panel.007. These will come up differently on your smartphone. Download the app according to your location: Van Gogh Immersive + (city name). There are hands-on activities for children and big kids too like coloring ;) My favorite part of the exhibition was the VR story of what inspired his works. They covered looking up, down, to the sides, behind, and all around. I enjoyed that immensely! This immersion was an interesting way to see and learn about the artist from the exhibit displays, hologram effects and virtual experience of this modern-day museum. Side notes: Being that our original date was cancelled in August from their delayed equipment transport due to the pandemic, we got a free VIP upgrade from the ticket vendor, Fever. Also, the location in Dallas is in Globe Life Park. Expect to climb quite a bit of stairs, which may not be easy for elderly, pregnant women, or babies in strollers. *The Arlington Van Gogh experience is not affiliated in anyway to the Van Gogh experience in Dallas* My friend and I bought our tickets to to see this Immersive Experience back in March. That is how far booked out they were. We rolled up on a Sunday night; paid $10 to park, and went inside the old Rangers Stadium. I didn't think the signage was all that great, but look for the Diamond Club entrance, and there you are. You get to spend as much time as you want going through the small exhibit, and you can come and go out of the immersion room. The music and imagery are on a 30 minute loop. The room is super neat. Very relaxing. There are a bunch of benches and bean bags to sit, or you can sit on the floor. I am not sure if we just picked a good time to go (Sunday at 7:30) or the crowds are not large because there were not many people there. The two times we went inside the room we found seating right away. My favorite part of this experience was paying the $5 for the virtual reality. You sit in a chair and put the VR machine over your head and you start off in Van Gogh's room and descend down the stairs into a field. I have never done VR before, but now I want to do again. You can look every which way and see the scenes that Van Gogh probably saw when he created his paintings. A man's voice talks to you and describes all the scenery. You're in a field/farm area and then go through a little town with he big moon and stars, and then cruise towards to the sea and then you're back in VG's bedroom to end it. It was really cool to feel like you are floating in a painting. I highly recommend this event. read more

Total waste of our time & money... First, this is not the downtown location. When we purchased the tickets, the venue was listed as "to be announced", but we thought it would be in Dallas. We rec'd the address via email a few days before our scheduled date. If you have ever been to an actual art gallery, you will likely not be impressed by this "experience". You initially walk through a room full of replicas, into a room with a few 3D interpretations of some well-known paintings, then into the "immersive experience"...which is a room with moving art projected onto the walls. It really wasn't that great. Had I been in need of a nap and equipped with a bed, it might have been cool except for the completely selfish parents who allowed the space to be utilized as a playground. We were inside for 20 mins. I can't believe the hype over this thing. Definitely a social media marketing scheme. Save your time & money. read more

A very unfortunate day for us during this experience- we went during a Cowboys game- I left my house early enough to get their in plenty of time even with the Cowboys game, but it was a crazy mess down there. Understandably so- but if the VGI would have had better signage and instructions I think it would have made it easier to navigate the area- the VG event had two tiny flags and the parking lot was called Avalon with a tiny LOT E label underneath- Man, that was terrible. Parking is double in game days, but they charged us $30, that was shady. The fever app indicated it would be $20. especially after paying $50 for the ticket- did not intent to spend $80 that day. Womp! Once inside, it seems pretty disorganized, they seemed to be using an excel spreadsheet to find our friends reservation- no luck, but they accommodated us nevertheless. It wasn't very busy at the time. The museum/gallery before entering the immersion room was nice- but not sure it was worth the price tag. Once inside the room, I was a little sad- the room was pretty small, didn't seem to live up to the hype of what you see online or on TV. The staff was kind especially the young man opening the curtain into the immersion room and the virtual reality staff. The staff up front checking the tickets were a little bit frazzled and didn't seem prepared. All in all, it an experience- but was looking for something more grandeur. read more

I highly recommend this traveling exhibit. I'll happily see it again in KC. There are no actual Van Gogh paintings on display, so that's a bit odd and surprising at first, but I love how it uses his fascinating life and art and legacy in a cool new interesting way to tell stories and get people excited about art and artists. That's to be commended! It's very accessible and easily understood. I'm an art lover and have visited museums all over the world, but I still found this really fresh and cool. It's perfect for kids about 4 and older. They will love the 3D aspects and the virtual reality experience. It's all just very colorful and a true feast for the senses. read more

This was a great place to spend some time with family and take in some artwork. The graphics were great and really send you through a journey if you spend the time. I recommend arriving early in order to take advantage of free parking across the street before they charge you during special events. read more

Great date night activity. We spent an extra couple of dollars for the virtual reality piece and really enjoyed it.

Boring. Incredibly overpriced and overhyped. The novelty wears off pretty quickly, and the security and requirements are a bit over the top.

A MOST imaginative and creative art immersion experience!! We loved it. Vastly more than just a look-at-the-pretty-paintings-on-the-wall experience. It used motion, flow, and music, along with informative displays, to bring your mood and ears into the display too. I'd love to have had a video recording. Immersion art can be a bit overwhelming as some reviewers have noted so be prepared for a different experience. We remember it fondly and hope to see more like it. read more

I'd rather go to an art museum. Projecting Van Gogh's art on the walls and floors did not do it for me and gave me vertigo. Then the gift shop at the end was tacky. They had "Earasers" for sale. The woman selling them behind the table said "Do you get it?" Uh yeah, I do.... The exhibit was not worth the money and I won't go to similar future famous artists' displays. read more

I didn't know what to expect and found myself engaged. It reminded me of a laser show from our local planetarium. While I really enjoyed learning more about his life and art, I found the music to be that of a moribund elevator. The focus was on the last years of his life where his disfunction was elevated. However, Van Gogh experienced love, enjoyed nature and, cared for mankind. This was discussed, as a backdrop for his downfall. It would've been great to experience more of these positive aspects of his life and to remember that we can love him and his work without idolizing his demise. Now let's talk logistics. The advertisement said the show was in Dallas. It is in Arlington. The tickets were sent in an email which was illegible, in a font which was colored to be barely a shade less light than the background. There is an unrelated show in Dallas with the same name. My GPS brought me to Dallas and of course, they wouldn't let us in with the purchased tickets. There was no number to call, at least not one I could find. By the time we got there, we were very late. We eventually realized there was a link to a map to the place in the invite and when we tried to use it. The map malfunctioned and was slow causing us to get lost several times. Finally, we realized it was in the Ranger's stadium area and used our own GPS. It was not well marked. There are a couple stadiums in the complex. After we parked, we walked to several entrances that were closed. Finally, we went to a local hotel and their staff directed us to the proper entrance. The door was marked, but wasn't obvious from the road, nor were there any signs that directed you to go to that entrance from the parking area. Fortunately, they let us in. We did not do the virtual reality because by the time we got there, my family was ready to go home so we only did what we already paid for. read more

This is a SCAM!!!! First of all, apparently there are two exhibits with no affiliation with one another. they have very similar names which is meant to deceive the public. this Is deliberate deception. The one I went to unfortunately was the Arlington one. I wish I could give it 0 stars but that's not an option. The projection quality was extremely poor. it was blurry, low quality, and poorly planned. they had these weird low quality 1999 game boy looking "graphics" of these medieval arches, which distracted from his work. Bottom line the web advertisement is similar for both so don't be fooled into going to the one in Arlington. Also this one didn't have any actual paintings so don't have that expectation going in. Overall, completely NOT immersive and I wish I could get a full refund. read more

If you want to pay 100.00 for two to watch a movie than this is for you. Except no comfortable chairs. Not to mention, they have you breathinging in your own body toxins, even when the closest person to you is 10feet away. Not one of hid original peices of art here. Thats the only way to see van gogh. The immersive room was great, but the rest of the exhibit reminded me of the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland - projected images of paintings. Better quality viewing on my phone. But primarily, the venue was horrible. Filthy. Bathrooms looked like they hasn't been cleaned in years, and every single touchable surface was sticky and nasty - not what you want in even pre-Covid times. One entire wall of the immersive room was interrupted with air vents, which broke up the pictures and my concentration. I've heard the Dallas experience was better and had three immersive rooms. read more
