Oh my goodness, why have we not stopped in here before? We're life-long residents of Fort Worth and…read morehave never stopped in until this evening. From now on, anytime we're visiting Sundance Square we'll definitely be stopping in. This will be a wonderful place to walk around after dining at the square. This is not your typical gallery. Tal, the owner, has a very eclectic collection of artwork, sculptures, and bronzes. When we there a Dr. Seuss exhibition was on display. It was very whimsical and comical. What an incredible treasure to have in downtown Fort Worth.

Milan Gallery celebrates artwork in a much more casual and colorful way, and that's something I really love! Owned and operated by Fort Worth locals (who have contributed several beautiful pieces on display), Milan is a smorgasbord of local, national, and international works of every medium you can think of. Paintings, sculptures, glass work, jewelry, prints, photographs... Id say it's mostly paintings, but in every style imaginable. Abstract works, photo-realistic, impressionist, classical, and more. My favorites are probably the works by Thomas Arvid (I just love wine! I also heard there is an 11 year waiting list for an original creation), Gregory Beck (his sculptures are absolutely gorgeous and so graceful. I love the human figure and his works are extremely elegant), and Ford Smith (he paints the most vibrant and whimsical landscapes). The Dr. Suess works are amazing, of course! M Milan Gallery has shows all the time, so just keep an eye on their website or facebook for upcoming exhibition information. The best part of Milan is that on most Friday and Saturday nights, there's an incredible pianist playing and Tal (the owner) is pouring wine! The staff here is so knowledgeable about the artists and make you feel like family. Tal and Kelly have been especially helpful and welcoming, which makes all the difference in a gallery experience. This is a definite Sundance Square treasure, and I plan to spend many an hour exploring Milan Gallery.

They held more than 11 people and did a great job glazing our paintings in 1hr. We had the other hour to eat pizza that we provided although they have variety options that includes cake and pizza as well, we just didn't choose that since we had custom made cakes and other items. The Dallas Art Museum is free for most of the museum, with special exhibits costing extra, but honestly there is plenty to see without spending a dime. They have Renoirs, Picassos, Monets, and so much more. The bathrooms are surprisingly very nice, the AC was absolutely on point, and it was not crowded when we visited. A perfect spot to get a little culture in between meals. Honestly, a must hit for out of town visitors looking for something fun to do that does not involve eating. Be sure to hit the gift store too, a museum gift shop is usually well curated, and this one is no exception! (though I will say the lady working the store had a sh:tty attitude)

The DMA has a supporter membership for $120. It includes parking which would cost you $20 otherwise. You also get two free admission tickets that you can use to view the museum's collections or any special exhibitions each and every day of the year. The membership will also provide a discount at the museum store and in the snack bar. Visit twice during the year, and the membership more than pays for itself. You can buy your membership online, print the receipt, and show it for free parking. Once inside the venue, show the receipt at the check-in desk to get your free tickets to the special exhibit(s). Your DMA cards will be mailed to you in four weeks, in the mean time, use that printed receipt for everything. We renewed our membership this weekend April 2026 and went to see the Samurai Collection. Metalwork is not a favorite of mine, but I was still fascinated by the stories presented on the placards throughout the exhibit and I certainly appreciated the beautiful, intricate craftsmanship presented in each piece. I didn't realize that the Samurai swords and armor had been banned from production in Japan, so the metal workers pivoted and learned to become artisans. They started to make and repair metal embellishments, lanterns, and incense burners for the numerous temples in the country. Many of the items in this collection were from Kyoto and Nara, both places my husband and I visited in November 2009. The full body armor was fascinating. Little pieces of leather were coated in metal, painted, and woven tightly together to form a moveable, but protective layer over the body. The workmanship was exquisite. The exhibit had a few short videos you could watch to learn about the work. I especially liked the 30 second clip about the process of making cloisonné. These vases are beautiful and the process to make each one is detailed and meticulous. Kids could collect a postcard-sized scavenger hunt near the entrance and use that to stay in engaged throughout the visit. At the end, there was a sign on the wall with the answer key pictures showing which art pieces help the intricate designs they were looking for. The DMA has a permanent collection that includes a variety of art from around the globe, as well as multiple special exhibits throughout the year. Everyone is bound to find something that delights them and inspires conversation and wonder. Worth a visit!

This was a complete disappointment, the effects were ok (very cartoony and gimmicky), but there are…read moretwo BIG Issues I take with this... first and foremost, the pricing is unreasonably high for what it is... for $200 a family, I would expect far better than sweating in the heat watching a marginally accurate immersive children's cartoon. The other big issue is that this is NOT scripturally accurate. I got the distinct impression this is put on by Catholics that view the Bible as "simple stories for simple people" rather than presenting the revered Word of God as written. Many things were missed that were key to Jesus ministry, but that could be overlooked. Never, however did Jesus say that Peter needed to let go of the overloaded net of fish because his greed would destroy him (although that could be a good thought for the people that put this on). Additionally, when Peter walked to Jesus on the water and began to doubt and sink, he yelled out "Lord, save me!" rather than the depiction of him falling silently into the depths of the water for 2-3 mins until Jesus reached out. The depiction of Judas basically arguing with Jesus never happened and there was a lot of liberties taken there. At the last supper, Jesus dipped the bread and said the person he gave it to would betray him (not Judas dipping something as Jesus calls him out). It is highly unlikely they was a golden chalice Jesus used and the metamorphosis into a Catholic priest and a room with walls filled with iconography and stained-glass windows may have some meaning to Catholics, but was completely ridiculous to an evangelical. I was not impressed and would be less frustrated, perhaps, if not looking around at people who clearly didn't have much money that I felt had been fleeced in Jesus name. Scripture is clear that those who add to the Bible are in danger of the eternal flame. I would caution those that would add to scripture and present it as if it were God-breathed scripture.

As fate would have it, I was able to do that a few months ago as a local poet I follow hosted a poetry slam here.
