Isis Star Dance Studio is one of the biggest belly dance studios in the area, if not one of the…read morebigger studios in the US. The largest attend classes at this studio are Isis' cabaret style belly dance classes. They also offer Hula, Doubeck drum classes, children classes, usually one-two different cardio/dance related classes, and they will usually have a tribal belly dance class as well depending on demand for it at the time. As well they have various performance troops from their Wings of Isis, Isis' Professional Performing Company , The Drums of Isis, etc. Isis also has in studio workshops but they also host usually in August every year a huge belly dance weekend of workshop & performances called Yaa Halla, Y'all. This usually has workshops by big name dancers & drummers in the industry, as well as performances by those giving workshops, up and comers, as well as booths to buy costumes, drums, etc. It has been a while from the time that I've taken classes there so I can't really speak to classes currently. Which is why I can't allow myself to do more than 3 stars because I can't speak to current classes being offered. Yet many of my friends that I made when I was taking classes at Isis ... some that started before, at the same time, or after ... are still there and have or working their way in to the professional performance troops. They try to be as family friendly as possible. There are many mother daughter, sisters, husband and wives, that are all involved in the studio in one way shape or fashion. Go check them out, maybe attend a Hafla (best way to describe it is almost a recital mixed in with party) See about checking out a beginners class.

SUMMER 2023 SPECIAL: one FREE KID/teenager with one purchased adult ticket…read more We had 2 adults, 2 preteens & 1 teenager. The show takes place inside the main arcade/bowling building, in the big party room on the left side as you enter the bldg, by the food counter. Check-in process was very easy, just show your receipt(s) for online ticket purchase. You can also purchase ticket on site, but no guarantees. Room is spacious with several nicely-spaced round tables with 6 chairs each & 2 large booths in the back of the room. You can get your table first or your food order, tables are 1st come 1st serve. You get a buzzer that notifies u when food is ready, so it's nice not to have to stand around the food counter (A PLUS). Drinks are self-serve & free refills all night. All the facility staff are very courteous & welcoming. The large pizza had generous toppings & flavorful, well-worth it. Kids also enjoyed the crispy tender basket with generous amount of fries. Table next to us got the nachos, which was huge, with generous toppings, for $11. Now the comedy itself: wish I could give 5 stars bc I really liked everything else, but the jokes were mostly eehhh, for lack of better words. I understand that it is improv, but there were many moments of awkward, cheesy dialogues & remarks. Loved that they included the audience, though. The funniest part was when they borrowed 2 of audience's cell phones & improvised their texts. It was still a fun family night overall. 4 stars bc everything was pleasant & affordable ($65 total for 5 of us including food), but the jokes definitely needed improvement.

Went on Friday at 7pm for Wicked opening. It was not crazy busy…read more When we walked in, we immediately noticed the new nice decor. There were many people in the bar area with plenty of high top tables available. We were guided to the kiosk on the right to print our tickets (purchased online- you choose print ticket then scan your code) or you can purchase tickets there. Printer spits out a ticket. There were signs on ticket counter notifying of 18% living wage service fee for non-bar orders. Non-bar orders = anything ordered once you're in the theatre. Once in theatre, we scanned the QR code and placed our order and paid online. There was no place to add tip so the "living wage service fee" is ultimately them ensuring that the staff get tipped. I don't have a problem with that. The seat covers are nice than the previous tattered ones. Place was clean & a comfortable temperature. Once the previews started and the seats finally filled up, staff started coming around to see if they could take your order. Multiple people checked on us and were all pleasant although it was hard to hear them by that point. We paid $1 for a large water in a cup and $12 for a decent margarita. I did not see a concession you could order your own snacks so I assume it's order from theatre or in the bar area. Because of not great reviews on the food, we ate at close by Lupes before the movie which has super fast service (average tex mex). Will try cinema food in future hopefully. It is easy a pleasant experience for enjoying a movie!

We decided to give this spot a try while watching the new Michael movie. The man who serviced us is friendly but got confused with the order; had to send back one of the trays. The food was very mediocre and overpriced, and I could've honestly bought popcorn for the movie and eat an actual fine dine meal after. I also think our theater screen wasn't clean; because throughout the whole movie I can see a noticeable smudge(?) across the right side of the screen. Seats weren't best quality. Yes it can recline, but so does AMC. There really isn't anything "luxurious" about the place. In total, our three average meals costed about $80. An OK experience, will personally stick to AMC for future showings though.

Time for an updated review as we are about to finish our first season and had our first recital on…read moreSaturday. First, the recital was on 1.5 hours long. WIN Second. The recital was super casual, and easy going, which is good because when you've got little kids dancing, and young families with little kids, and everyone is is just LITTLE, that makes for quite a bit of ups and downs and talking, and ins and outs, and you know what... IT WAS OKAY! No one was bothered in the least, and that made everyone chill. So.. second win! And the third win, Miss Devin (the owner) was IN LABOR and still came to the recital. I wonder if she's had that sweet baby yet? Now there's a director who really loves her craft and her students! Three cheers for Dance Axiom!

She looks forward to it whenever it's that day of the week she has classes. The owner and staff are VERY nice and welcoming. There are always classes going on when we are there - tap, ballet etc... And the level of classes and students are varied and you can attend classes that fit your level and needs. They also do a recital for your kids if you are interested for an addition... I think $60. The negative... I don't think the beginning hip hop class is for "serious" dancers. They are there learning basic moves and I think they are more focused on making it fun as opposed to technique. This is actually what we wanted, but if you were wanting it needing your classes to be more technique oriented, this is not the class for you. Maybe the higher levels focus a bit more on that but I wouldn't know. All in all, my daughter likes it very much and we keep going back. The people are great, the place is clean and professional and the "Dance Moms" I've met were all surprisingly wonderful women.
