We just completed some foundation work with Foundation Systems Hawaii. From start to finish, FSH showed what great professionals they are. Wade was our point person. At our initial meeting, I showed Wade the areas we were concerned about. He immediately knew what the issue was, and he took pictures of all the affected areas. The next day, he emailed us the quote. After reviewing, we wanted to remove one of the areas included in the quote so I emailed Wade. I also asked him for some referrals for engineering firms that could determine the root cause of our issue. Again, it only took him one day to email back the updated quote, and he included the engineering firm referrals. Even when Wade was out for a week, Annie kept us informed about his absence and that he would be able to schedule our work upon his return. Annie also handled the payments, and we were able to send payment via online banking which was very convenient for us. As promised, Wade scheduled our work when he returned. Daniel and Marcus did the actual work. Daniel was the lead and after opening up the areas, he confirmed the issue. Daniel took pictures of the areas, and he took the time to explain exactly what was going on with our issue, detailing the cause and what was lacking in the original construction. That really impressed me because most companies wouldn't take the time to explain the work being done. They would just do the work. Learning about the cause of the issue was so valuable because it will help us maintain our home going forward. The work was completed in a few days, it looked good, and again, Daniel explained exactly what they did to fix the affected areas. I truly appreciated that level of communication. Daniel and Marcus were also very polite, professional, and cleaned up the areas afterwards. Since FSH does not include finishing work in their scope of work, we thought we would need to find our own resource to patch and paint the interior area that they fixed. Much to our surprise, the company president, Tim offered to pay for one of their contacts, Dan to do this interior work. That totally exceeded our expectations. In line with FSH's professionalism, Dan was just as good. He was thorough, detailed, and even fixed some bumps in our wall that weren't even a result of the foundation work. Finding someone that good is not easy, especially in the trades. We will definitely look to have Dan do other jobs for us in the future. All in all, working with Foundation Systems Hawaii was a pleasure. They are professional, do great work, and have excellent communication. What more can you ask from a company? We would highly recommend FSH to anyone who needs help with their foundation. read more

A#1 outstanding company. Very easy to work with, great follow up, great work, very helpful, and most important of all, they do what they say they will do and go the extra mile to satisfy the customer. Every contractor I have worked with leaves the job with a few unfinished items. Unlike other contractors, Foundation Systems comes back immediately and corrects and completes anything that was missed, from cleanup to washup. They were contracted to correct some deficiencies in the work of another contractor (in compacting backfill) and its engineer (in basic design), and they did the job well, including the necessary neighbor politics. They left us and the neighbors all happy and satisfied. We highly recommend them! read more

A few weeks ago, FSH repaired an old stone wall, dating back to the 1930s, that surrounded our Mānoa patio. Over the years, Id been watching it tilt and develop cracks until I recently realized something needed to be done soon before it completely fell apart. Over the years, guys driving by would offer to rebuild the wall saying it was too far gone to repair. I never took them up on their offer as at that time there were so many other repairs that needed to be done, but I heard it so often I believed that only a new rock wall build was the only solution. Several months ago, FSH was doing some extensive repairs to a house across the street. While talking to the owner of the house, I remembered that at one time, I was advised to talk to a structural engineer first before getting any work done and since she was very satisfied with them, I made an appointment. Im so glad that I did. The general manager Wade came to inspect the wall and make an estimate. I was thrilled when he said they could actually repair and save the wall without having to do a lot of extensive work. We would get to keep the walls cut rocks that were a part of early Honolulu development. On the first day, company president Tim Mort personally came to the house to go over the project with Wade and make some recommendations and revisions. The whole crew was there also and were part of the discussion. There was the project foreman Danny and his amazing team of Wayne, Steve, and Marcus (sorry, if I got the names wrong. I am so bad at remembering names.) You could not have asked for a better crew. They actually got along with each other and worked together as a cohesive unit. Every day, they showed up on time, and after greeting me, they would get to work. They were all very hardworking, respectful to me, my dogs, and property, unobtrusive, and highly skilled. Throughout the day, they would update me on the project, showing me what had been done or was going to be done, which would give me a chance to give feedback and then informing me when they were taking a lunch break or leaving. It was apparent that they took great pride in their work and even showed surprising artistry when patching the cracks. I believe it was Wayne who was able to create faux aged stones out of the mortar for one area with a huge gap and Danny made a good color choice for the mortar in other areas. And an unexpected benefit was the gate to a welded fence adjacent to the wall was able to be closed again. FHSs work far exceeded my expectations. An ethical company headed by a man with a lot of integrity, Tim Mort, efficiently assisted by Annie, I highly recommend them. read more

I have a challenging issue with a 4yr old CMU wall that may not have been built to plans. I spoke to a C&C DPP Building Inspector about it and he says they are not responsible but my Contractor is even if the DPP approved my plans, issued a permit and closed it upon completion. I reached out to Tim Mort at Foundation Systems and he came out in 2 days to survey my wall. After surveying my wall, he gave his recommendations and detailed action plan. Knowing my sense of urgency, Tim followed up with a thorough job specifications and repair cost within 1 day. Nowadays, it's difficult to find a contractor you can trust. After meeting Tim, I had a great feeling that I would be able to trust his work and that he would be able to correct the wall properly. Afterall, I wouldn't be in this situation had my original architect/contractor completed the work as per the approved plans given to the DPP for my building permit. I highly recommend Foundation Systems! read more

They were supposed to be scheduled to come out at 11am but said they can come a little early which is totally fine however when they came a little early , I have instructed the on-site staff to have him come in the office as I am handling an emergency issue for the Building and Wayde decided to leave not even wanting to talk to the on-site staff and just left saying " just have it rescheduled " and the on-site staff said that I'm coming down already to which he responded " it looks like their time is more important that mine". That is so unprofessional, we all know everybody's time is important , this is not the right way to treat a prospect client. read more

The guys from Foundation Systems went above and beyond my expectations. First off, the process for choosing who I went with took me a couple years because of the design and planning, as well as the usual price and feel for the contractor considerations. My situation was very complex. It involved a hard to access job site (long driveway/tough curve to maneuver), a steep grade that had to be scaled up and down to drill, and a house on top of the area of work. Note: If you are building a home from scratch call a structural engineer and these guys first. You do not want to do this with a built home in the future. Tim was extremely patient throughout the two years. I would call him every couple months as I worked through other considerations in my planning. He was always super helpful and friendly. It should be noted, this was before I even had a permit in place. Once I completed the permit process, I reached out to Tim one final time to let him know I had decided to go with FS, but wanted to first have a meeting between all parties involved in the project: Foundation Systems, Tyler from JPB Engineering, and the mastermind architect, Jennifer Jackson of Jen Lee Design. Even before signing anything, Tim, and Wade from FS were super willing to help have these conversations with all parties to ensure everything was done right. Phase 1: I was nervous to start the project. I am a first time home buyer so all of this was learning on the fly. Wade came in and did a great job coordinating the job. He was super flexible with the scheduling of the start so I had adequate time to inform and prepare my neighbors. What I call the 'first phase' was shotcreting the job site so that as the guys worked, further erosion under the house would not occur. Prior to the spraying of cement, the crew came in to prepare the job site. Using wattles and plywood, the bottom of the hill and house was setup to protect against additional to debris from spreading, as well as runoff from the spray going in my neighbors yard and system. When the day came to actually spray cement on the hillside, the guys were incredibly efficient in getting in and out. They were very friendly and courteous to my neighbors and left no mess once completed. If you know anything about backing a huge concrete truck into a confined space, and pumping a ton of concrete on to a hill side you can imagine the potential for a mess. They did everything to mitigate leftover concrete by laying plastic beneath the cement hoses. Phase 2: After the shotcrete dried, the crew of Galen, Kalae, Maka, Marcus andwere able to come in and do the heavy lifting of digging out the 12 holes that would serve for the micropiles, tiebacks, cement caps and pedestals. I cannot emphasize how impressed I am by this team. They were friendly, courteous, informative, knowledgeable, and not annoyed by all of the questions I had (I was nĪele), and instilled a lot of confidence in me that I made the right choice by going with FS. The nice thing is the guys were dedicated to the project and were not being bounced around to other sites, so they could expedite my project. Throughout the project they continued to coordinate with the other parties involved including the other contractors, engineers and architect to ensure as the work progressed, things were inline with the larger plan. I learned a lot from this project. One important thing you should know with a project of this scale is that adjustments will need to happen on the fly. FS was great about being flexible, and when something posed additional effort, I did not incur extra charges. They stood by their original comprehensive quote throughout any modifications. Once the work was completed, the cleanup job was amazing. My car port never looked cleaner! If I did this type of work again, I cannot emphasize enough that I would want no one but this crew. Mahalo to the guys from FS for helping save my hale! read more

Wade was extremely Transparent and informative. Once he checked out my concerns with the house he was very clear on what the remedy would be and told me the way that I could just get it done myself. Kudos to Wade and his professionalism. Wish we had more trades folks like him on island read more

From the initial assessment of our house down to the completion of the releveling, Foundation Systems Hawaii offered such a wonderful service. They communicated their work well, they were efficient, the workers were easy to work with and very helpful. They made sure that we were satisfied with the outcome of their work and were very transparent throughout the process. Tim and Wade were on top of the project and were both very open to answering questions and promptly following up. Casey, Daniel, Maka, Steve, Kalai, and Marcus did a wonderful job in releveling the house, were very friendly, and easily approachable. Outstanding work, exemplary company. read more

Tim Mort and his team did a wonderful job repairing my interior slab and installing micropiles for the exterior of the 8 unit townhouse condo I live in. It was a frightening experience having foundation problems as the cracking throughout my home was slowly getting worse. From the bidding process through the end, Tim treated the situation with urgency and professionalism. He was always able to address my concerns and meet any deadlines that I had. His crew was very polite and professional. They received many compliments from my neighbors and left the property freshly power washed every night. Boy were they quick! They were able to finish the entire project in just over a month. With how clean they kept the project site, it was not an inconvenience at all. I highly recommend Tim Mort with Foundation Systems Hawaii, LLC for your foundation needs whether you are in a condo or own a single-family home! read more

Foundations Systems provided a quote to fix my sinking foundation about one year ago. They followed up and the timing worked out. They did a explained everything, did a quality job, for a fair value and double checked that I was satisfied with the work. read more

I highly recommend Foundation Systems Hawaii for excavation and repair of underground problems like foundations, footings, sink holes, and retaining walls. My property had a sink hole near the slab footing which was never evident before and I was concerned it might de-stabilize the foundation of my single-family home. Wade met with me at the property during COVID-19 precautions and observed social distancing. He examined the area and offered to prepare a detailed quotation at no cost. The quotation arrived quickly but I had several questions. Wade responded to me via email, but also called my voicemail to relay the same answers. The quote was more than I expected, however I imagine less-expensive options would not be as professional. The job took longer than expected to schedule. Trust company policy required me to approve checks written in advance, but at no time did I worry that Foundation Systems would take the money and not complete the work. Once on-site, Wade texted me photos of the sinkhole. Unknown to anyone, there was an abandoned cesspool 10 feet deep. There was no choice but to fill the hole with concrete. I am satisfied with the work they performed and confident the problem is permanently resolved. I'd select this company again if the need should arise. You cannot be too careful when it comes to the safety of your foundation. read more

I've had a growing concern over the past few years due to the settling of 3 big posts that my house sits on. Less than two weeks ago, I finally decided to take care of it. I Googled "Foundation Systems Hawaii", and today (less than two weeks later) the job is complete. And I am confident that the problem is fixed for the long-term. I couldn't be more satisfied with the level of customer-service, quality, and skill. Wade was super responsive. Daniel the foreman was extremely knowledgeable and customer-focused. His team Marcus and Steve were fantastic. I would give them 6 stars if I could. read more

Foundation Systems Hawaii just recently finished re-leveling our post/pier house. Very reasonable prices and finished the job within the specified time frame. But the thing that really sets them apart is the quality of their service and the quality of their work. I would highly recommend them for any of your foundation projects. read more

Amazing work by Tim, Wade, and the crew. First, they said it would be two weeks...and it was two weeks. The cleanliness of their work every day was very much appreciated. Daniel and the crew were extremely professional and friendly. And they cleaned up and restored the work areas after they finished the project such that we were completely satisfied with the work. Tim and Wade also came to the house a couple times once the crew dug the pits for the micropiles and the new footings and walked us through the different options available on how they could install the micropiles and protect any utility in the area. We felt very comfortable with FSH every step of the way and would NOT hesitate to recommend them to any of our family or friends. read more

We had a project that wasn't exactly in there normal scope of work, but Wade was quick to respond to and even after he declined the job, he still went out of his way to find us someone that could help us. I recommend Foundation systems Hawaii , and Wade, for their honesty and integrity. Anyone who says " I can't help you, but let me assist you in finding the right person who can." gets my vote of confidence. We will definitely reach out to them again for other work. Thanks Wade! read more

Wade Whaley arrived at my property to give me a quote to level my house the same day I called. He promptly offered me two different quotes to choose from based on the extent of the work to be performed which I appreciate due to limited funds. Once on the schedule, the crew arrived and finished the job in one day. They cleaned up and left my property neater than they found it. I highly recommend Foundation Systems Hawaii. read more

We had a corner of our cement foundation in our patio stabilized because it had sunk enough for cracks in our patio to occur as well as a part of our roof to sag, which in turn, we think caused leaking in the patio. The work to stabilize the affected corner and level our roof was done really well and quickly by Daniel, Steve and Marcus. These guys were respectful and very professional. We got estimates from 3 different companies, and the deciding factor for us, was Wade's honesty, knowledge, the time he took to explain things to us and there were no last minute changes to their proposal. One of the other companies, AFTER submitting their proposal, informed me that I would need to pay another $2000 to $3,000 for a structural engineer, which wasn't discussed at all prior. That was a total turn off. I do need to say that there was some kind of miscommunication or misunderstanding regarding the repairing of some cracked cement in our patio after the foundation work was done. Tim the president and owner of the company came out himself and checked out the situation. With no hesitation or hassles, Tim had someone come out to address the cracks. The first 2 times a guy came to do the work although it was done was ok, it wasn't complete. Third time was a charm when Maka came out and did a bang up job on the remaining cracks. All this to say, you cannot go wrong with Foundation Systems Hawaii. Tim Mort is a man of his word and cares about getting things done right and as the owner of the company it's so reassuring to know that he runs his company with great character and integrity. Wade and his team worked on repairing spalling in our foundation. They completed the job quickly, courteously, explained everything clearly, and answered an questions we had. When the job required more work than what was initially expected, Wade worked with us on pricing that worked for us. After the job was completed, we noticed there was some adhesive that had dried and hardened. Wade sent a worker back who cleaned everything up the next day. We highly recommend Foundation Systems Hawaii for their work and attention to customer satisfaction. read more

Tim Mort and his crew are awesome. I had foundation issues because of the soil under one of my piers or tofu blocks or whatever it is called, and the bad 2018 rain did not exactly help matters. The shifting got so bad that my the ceiling panels and dry wall located in the makai and diamond head side of my house were showing hairline cracks. Being very uneducated in this area, I had to rely on Yelp and other internet resources as most of my friends and family have not had foundation issues with their homes. By providence, I found Foundation Systems Hawaii. I spoke to Tim Mort on the phone and he set up an appointment with me. He arrived on the day and time that he said he would arrive and from the start, he really put my mind at ease. He was not the typical used car salesman. He diagnosed what the issues were and gave me a direct quote on the spot. When I asked him about another issue on the property, he told me that it did NOT need to be fixed. He then told me that he would give me a written proposal by the end of the week. At the end of the week, I received the proposal and agreed to it. Tim set up a specific date and time when his crew would work on the house and guess what? They arrived on that date and time. His crew was very professional and from the start, they knew exactly what they were going to do. They started promptly and they finished exactly when they said they would. They were efficient and hard working. The work itself was excellent-they reinforced the area where the block was, re-did it to create a wider surface for support, and re-leveled the house. They did other things as well but the above was the main part of their work. In short, I highly recommend Tim and Foundation Systems Hawaii. Having someone do any work on your house can be stressful and daunting. Being a suspicious person in nature, trust and integrity are big things for me. From the start, I knew that Tim could be trusted and that he was a man of integrity and the work that his company reinforced that notion. I highly recommend Foundation Systems for foundation work. read more

From our first inquiry phone call to the finished job, Tim Mort and his crew from Foundation System Hawaii were exceptional. Tim promptly returned our call and came out to review our job. He provided his quote less than 24 hours later and he scheduled our job for the very next week. The day of the job, his crew arrived as scheduled, were courteous, friendly and worked until the job was done. They cleaned up the job site as well. During the leveling, Tim was on-site, reviewing with us every step to ensure we were happy with the leveling as it was happening. Overall, we had great customer service and would use Foundation Systems Hawaii again and would highly recommend them. read more

My retaining rock wall which also serves as the foundation for the front of my house was cracking and a couple rock piers fell away leaving the post just hanging. I called Foundation Systems based on Yelp 5-star reviews. Tim Mort was very patient in explaining to me the solution which was to dig and pour a reinforcing footing and replace the rock piers with poured concrete piers. He and his staff were very professional and courteous. Very high quality work and they left the job site very clean. I would certainly use Foundation Systems again and recommend them highly. read more

Tim, his foreman Adam, and crew are some of the nicest contractors I've had the pleasure of working with. Foundation Systems leveled the back half of our post and pier home in December 2017.
