This is a really belated review; we actually started working with them nearly two years ago. The project took several months to complete. I did the demolition myself and brought in my own plumber and electrician, but Wen, Xiao, and the rest of their crew handled everything else: a full kitchen, two complete bathrooms, all fixture installs, drywall, insulation (including the attic), paint, trim, new doors, ... plus more that I've likely forgotten. Basically the whole house, down to the kitchen sink. Wen was extremely helpful and full of great ideas in the planning phase. He worked with us through several rounds of different options, layouts, etc. He took us on a show-and-tell shopping trip to Home Depot to get ideas about many of the available choices, guided us through choosing kitchen cabinetry, helped us pick out shower pan design/style, etc. Xiao was great at handling all carpentry work as well as the tile, cabinetry, bathroom/kitchen detail work, etc. He had great insight into how we could take out a couple of small non-structural stub walls to make our living room feel bigger. He and his assistants worked very diligently and we really appreciate his effort. Communication was easy throughout the project. Wen responded very quickly to all messages, even my dumb questions. He also entertained my bad ideas and then gave me more reasonable alternatives. Really appreciated his calm and levelheaded approach to everything. On top of all this, the cost was very reasonable and comprehensive--we didn't have to do a lot of messing around with change orders. Other than some materials we agreed to supply at the outset, they built everything needed into their initial quote. They did not consider the project complete until we were happy with every last detail. The work was done well, and we highly recommend Diamond Head Construction for anyone tackling anything from a small project up to a full renovation. We have some more projects that we need help with and I'm sure we'll be relying on them again soon.

I took time off work to be home for the appointment, only to get a call about fifteen minutes after the scheduled time saying they needed to cancel. No real explanation, just a last-minute cancellation after I had already rearranged my morning. I immediately requested a refund of the assessment fee, but it still took a full week before I finally got my money back. Between the cancellation, the lack of professionalism, and the delay in refunding my payment, this company showed me they can't be counted on. I'd suggest finding a plumber who values their customers' time.

So that morning she had called and said that they are not able to come at 11:30pm-12midnight so it was cancelled.I wasn't expecting them to come at that time dah, she knew that I requested 9:00am the week before. She never explained that I needed to pay immediately to make my 9am appointment. If that was the case I would have done so as I was in desperate urgency needing a plumber. I was very disappointed at what had happened. I requested for my refund of $95.00 fee , she said it will be refunded back. It had been 7 days now and I have not seen a credit back to my credit card. In this day and age no one should be checking and calling the business for a refund for a service that never happened and that was canceled. She promised I would be fully refunded. Still waiting..... Fast forward to June/July, I reached out to LaRue's and left messages and finally got ahold of Morgan. He seemed very pleasant and willing to work with me, but after that call, it was like pulling teeth from a cat to get much communication or response. I had to continuously call and message to get set with the free estimate, and after he came to inspect my townhome, he requested about 4 days to get me the quote, which I never received. I left another message about 2 weeks after the visit to inquire and never received a response. I feel bad, but I received the impression that my project wasn't worth the work because I only wanted to get the top floor's work done, and was hoping for around $4K for a low square footage. Regardless, a quote or reply would have made a world of a difference. now I have to look around for another company, since I still need the work done. I'm sure he does amazing work, but in my opinion, if a business can't respond to inquiries and people that are willing to hire them for work, it's not worth the time.
