They were very nice folks but I personally felt that they were trying to maximize profit - from insisting to run a full-on diagnosis for $1000 after me already telling them what's likely going on, and quoting $1500 for 3 toilet repair (each toilet was $100 when we bought it, so 500 to repair the small parts inside doesn't make economic sense. ) We already got another quote from somewhere else for $589, so almost one third of what those guys quoted. I paid $300 to do a diagnostics, to get them to tell me that the toilets are broken - yes - that's why we called you - and they won't apply that fee towards any repair. I'm sure they're good plumbers - I personally like working with those who actually think of what value they are providing. read more

The did an awesome job with my toilet. Called them and they made room in their schedule to check out my toilet and within two days everything was fixed. I am not reviewing the quality of their work because I didn't have them do the work. My review is solely about their policies and pricing. I had them come out to look at a minor leak at the point of connection of my handheld shower fixture. The technician pulled the fixture off and seemed confused on how to fix it. I paid them $67 to come out to check on the problem. He then told me if I wished to proceed to fix the problem it would cost me $300 for a research fee. The fee was for them to figure out how to fix it. After thinking how to solve the problem they sent me a quote, which was an additional $1000 to replace the fixture. I fixed the problem myself for $40 in parts and it took me 15 mins. read more

Danny investigated the challenge posed by the location of my water heater in a tight space requiring removal of a stove, panel and corner cabinet. After I approved the estimate the next day, with a 50% down, Danny and Cael came out to replace the water heater. Both were pros... paid meticulous attention to details and were neat. They also waited for my building water to be turned on so they could test the water heater. They took photos to document the work as well. Worth every dollar! Called because Lowe's wouldn't install our new refrigerator because it had a copper line. They said I needed a plumber so I called Waialae Plumbing. Everyone was friendly there. When I explained the situation to the girl on the phone she was able to get someone out the next day. They did an estimate before starting and completed the job as stated. Price seemed fair. This company was going to charge me $1500 + $203 for a 3 hour job because they charge by the task, plus initial dispatch . The next company finished the job by the hour ( 3 hours) costing $366 only. What a huge difference!!! I had a disappointing experience with Waialae plumbing. I called them to address a water leak behind my washing machine that had soaked the exterior of my apartment. The leak had gone through the walls and into the common area outside. They sent a plumber who was professional, but the service left much to be desired. The initial quote was around $314 to finish the job. The plumber spent an hour attempting to unclog it but could only go 5 feet into the pipe before met resistance. After attempting an hour, they stopped. The snake did not have a camera neither. They informed me that they were unable to resolve the issue, the next step was $470 to open the wall, and then another TBD estimate once they inspect, possibly a $1500 job. Despite the lack of results or diagnosis, they were initially going to charge me around $228 for this job, but ended up charging me $203 after asking for multiple discounts just for the failed attempt. Their cost is $66 for diagnosis initially per phone call. They said I won't find another plumber with a smaller snake that wont yield same results. Feeling frustrated, I contacted another plumbing company. They arrived promptly, identified the problem (a blockage much farther down the pipe 20 ft + is where the blockage was), and were fully equipped to cut open the wall, access the pipe, and repair it. They completed the entire job in under three hours and charged $122 per hour--far less than what Waialae Company charged for an unsuccessful attempt. I also reached out to Waialae Company's manager to express my concerns about being overcharged for a failed service. Unfortunately, their response was dismissive, even calling my feedback "ludicrous." When i brought up the plumbers only were able to snake 5 ft, the manager said the second plumber was able to finish the job because they dislodged the clog for them. Not true. Because at first insert of the snake, it already went past 10ft without any water running since the flood. Both the building manager and the second plumber, building engineer, front desk all, multiple neighbor agreed that $203 for a failed attempt with no diagnosis or resolution was excessive. Overall, I cannot recommend Waialae Company based on my experience. While the plumber they sent was courteous, the service lacked effectiveness, proper tools, and fair pricing. I regret spending money on a service that yielded no results. I guess they're losing service to this building now since my building manager cannot recommend them. Words do travel fast in big condos. read more

Right after the power outage in the first week of Jan 2024, our refrigerator malfunctioned, along with some other plumbing issues that required looking into, Daniel and Joe came by to help fix a leak, clean out the bathroom sink pipes, and proceeded to do an orderly inspection. The quality of their work is superb, and at no point did they rush their craft. Daniel came the next day to assess the refrigerator situation, and diagnosed that we would need a technician for a new fridge installation, but that he would be able to future proof our unit by replacing the old copper pipe and valve with a more modern installation. Because we are members of the waialae plumbing, we were able to get some discounts. It might not be much but still relatively valuable to have. 5/5 superb service and professionalism. I called other Plumbing businesses to shop around for quotes, and immediately noticed that Waialae Plumbing was different. Not only were they super friendly and communicative, they were respectful and fully descriptive with each step. They updated me with every inspection, test and repair of my laundry drain. I had Kenneth and Aldrin come over, and Kenneth was super responsive and patient with all of my questions. Although they were costly, comparative to other plumbing services that I got a consultation for, it was cheaper than some competitors. They were trustworthy, and even gave me advice that ended up saving me some money. I love that Waialae Plumbing is very detailed in describing their job, and is very careful with how they work. I needed a spigot replaced. They sent out Cael. He knew exactly what needes to be done. In the process we found out that the valve to turn off the water for that spigot wasnt working anymore. We felt bad but Cael said not to worry and he would change it anyway. He changed the spigot for me and in the process got completely soaked. I had a simple problem. A clogged shower drain. I thought it was an easy fix. Scheduled an appointment for 8am. Technician shows up 20 minutes late. He spent an hour using a metal snake trying to fix my clog. No success. He called his boss for back up. They came, tried a stronger tool, broke their tool in my drain pipe, and couldn't fix the clog. I was still charged for the service. Then they quoted me a $2,300 charge to replace the P-trap and overflow drain pipes underneath the bathtub. I thought that was unnecessary, outrageous. I purchased a drain cleaner at a local store (pic below) and magically fixed my clogging issue! This company was incompetent at fixing a simple plumbing problem & also trying to quote me for unnecessary repair scam. Please shop around and don't fall for this. read more
