I would not recommend. If you are looking for Americanized Asian fast food that is overly salty, overly sweet, ladened then this is the place for you. I placed a large online order today and when I arrived to pick it up, they did not have my order. I had to show her my receipt and then wait for them to prepare it. The sweet/sour shrimp was just fried shrimp with raw vegetables on the side served with a to go cup of sauce. The fried rice is not real fried rice but rice with soy sauce thrown in. No little pieces of egg or green onions, veggies. So, if that's what you are looking for, find another place. Great flavored Chinese fusion restaurant in Hutto. What I really appreciate is how fresh the food tasted and you can't go wrong with good flavored Chinese food. I wasn't blown away how good umami flavored food was but it was savory and what I would expect from a Chinese restaurant. I ordered Togo pho, I was good, I liked how not oily the broth was, the beef was a good amount togo. Underneath the beef is sliced brisket and meatballs. Good flavored pho. The Pat Thai was good. Nice bouncy noodles with the tang of the ingredients. Good soy and tamarind flavor, sweet from sugar. I definitely would have loved more egg and bean sprouts. The lobster sauce with shrimp was good. Creamy clear sauce with a mild flavor, more chestnuts than shrimp, the shrimp wasn't over cooked, it was perfectly good so firm and sweet. And the lemon grass beef, the star of the show. Walked in to find it's pretty much a self-service model in that you place your order via iPad or a real person, get an electronic beeper, sit anywhere and wait for your beeper to sound. They have a pretty extensive Chinese/Vietnamese menu but I was interested most in the Eye of Round Pho which I ordered along with hot Jasmine tea. The order came out fairly quickly and the portion was a good size. I was asked during ordering if this was take out or eating in and I said eat in. Oddly enough my soup was in a plastic take out type bowl and the bean sprouts, etc. we're stuffed in a sandwich bag. I asked for chili oil or saracha and was told "it's in the bag." Not so only the hoisin sauce. Anyhoo the Pho was delicious with ample lean beef, flavorful broth and decent noodles. Prices were comparable locally. The place was nicely decorated but the ambiance was not very warm since it seemed like their focus was on take out and not much customer interaction. We went to this "establishment" on a Friday night. The first thing we were hit with was an overwhelming stench of nail polish. It smelled like we had just walked into a nail salon. There was an older lady WITH HER DOG sitting in the entryway and we decided it must've been her. Whatever- the manager can't control what patrons smell like but they absolutely should have asked her to wait outside with her dog. That was our first cue that things weren't quite right. Next was the amount of patrons either sitting without food or standing at the counter, ticket in hand. A waitress appeared to take our order, which went well enough, but everything went downhill from there. They were severely understaffed and no one, not even the manager, moved with any sense of urgency. My partner received her meal (vermicelli bowl) without fish sauce so it was incredibly dry. The crab rangoons were also brought out and were fine- good not great. I had ordered pad thai which did not come out for another 15 minutes. My partner would've finished her meal had she not waited for 10 mins to ask for fish sauce (the waitress never came by for a table touch and we had to walk over to the counter to ask). My dish finally came out piping hot and was, again, good not great. In this 30 minute or so span, we saw about 4-5 door dashers come in to pick up to go orders, one couple (who ordered before us but never got their food) request a refund, and one patron who got a to-go order return for a refund since they did not receive all of their order. All that said, I'd be willing to give this place another shot if they're open in a year (I will be SHOCKED if they are). After reading some recent reviews, it appears this place is under new management who are in WAY over their head. Wait staff was milling around most of the time and didn't seem interested in checking in with patrons while we commiserated about the poor service and mediocre food. They're in dire need of some good help but are unlikely to find it, especially with how mismanaged they appear to be. I had tried the coffee from this place and thought it was amazing! But then I tried the food last night and this morning my husband told me I should have stuck with the place he wanted to try. You walk up to the counter and place your order on a screen that proceeds to ask you to tip.....well I have no issues tipping I just don't see what the point is when I'm placing my own order and the having to walk up to the counter with my buzzer and grab my food. So, I also found hair in my food and the staff member just looked at me confused when I asked for that portion of the meal be refunded. Kimchi fried rice combo was delicious and had good amounts of kimchi and meats. Kung pao beef was the best part of the meal, we got lo mein noodles with it since we had already ordered the fried rice. Plenty of onion and bell peppers came with it. Egg drop soup was like any other, a little bland, but that's ok. Vegetable egg rolls were small but good and came with sweet and sour sauce. Not too greasy which is always a plus. I found this place while going to HEB for some shopping. It has a Panda Express feel but the food was pretty good. It came out quickly and had a lot of flavor. Easily my favorite Chinese food in hutto. I always order to-go from here and the way they package everything it stays hot the whole trip home. Prices are a little steep, but they do not shy away on the serving sizes. I'm a big guy and love my Chinese food; and even then I still can't finish my whole dish at times. Then we get home and realize they gave us egg drop soup instead of wonton soup, my son is allergic to eggs and can't eat it. Called and they offered a replacement if we drove back up there. Asked if they could make it a bowl instead of cup considering the time and gas driving across Hutto a second time and they said only if you pay the difference. The egg rolls over fried so bad inner layer of cabbage was burnt. The Moo Goo Gai pan very blan no taste at all. Aside from the Ladies working there this place has no redeeming quality and was NOT deserving of a business award at all. Too expensive for premade food. We stopped in during the soft opening. This spot has different concept than the Asian places in town. Order at the counter and take it to go or have a sit inside. They will give you a number and bring your food when ready to you. The decor inside is nice and of course it is clean here. There is a self serve area for fountain drinks and condiments. We were able to customize one of our spring rolls without the vermicelli noodles. She asked if they could do it before we ordered it and they said yes. Woohoo! I ordered the Mongolian beef. It is a spicy dish according to the menu, but I asked for it to be extra spicy. If you like heat, you may want to get the chili sauce at the condiment area to spice it up more. The Mongolian beef was tasty and I paid .99 cents more to get fried rice with my dish. It normally comes with white rice with no extra charge. You can also substitute the steamed rice with brown rice for .99 cents more as well. The entree was filling. The food didn't take that long at all to come out. Which is a plus for those who want to eat and go or take their items to go. This spot has Snowtea so you can order a milk tea or snow ice to cool off from the heat or enjoy as a dessert. Very happy to have stopped by and give Fortune House a visit. I'm always a little skeptical when going to a Chinese or Asian fusion restaurant these days because they're mostly a dime a dozen. However, Fortune House has some excellent dishes and are very reasonably priced. So far, we've tried the Sesame Chicken, General Tso's Chicken, Char Siu Bao, Singapore noodles, hot and sour soup, and egg rolls. Everything we ordered was very good. The restaurant is small, but very clean and comfortable. The server that you order from at the front was very kind and helpful as well. I'd have to recommend coming during their lunch special which is from 11am to 3pm during the week. They offer you an entree, fried or steam rice, hot and sour soup, wonton soup, or egg drop soup, and an egg roll for only 10 bucks. There isn't a huge variety of really good food in Hutto, but I'd highly recommend checking out Fortune House. read more

Fortune House I used to go to Fortune House for Pho, pork spring roll and sweet and sour chicken for the family. I started going pre covid. Pre covid they were pretty good. We were given plates silver ware and they waited on you. And they were friendly During covid they started serving to go plates and plastic ware. Which was a little tough when eating Pho. The sauces were in little packages. I didn't like it but it's understandable since it was during covid. Post Covid. I went there yesterday 6/11/24 around 3Pm. it was absolute the worse experience I had. You are no longer seated you order at front and seat yourself. You get a tiny cup for your drink and if you want more you have to go up front and ask, they act like you're putting them out. Pork spring roll is no longer charbroiled pork. It's just thin sliver of pork. When I grabbed it it fell apart. They gave me little package of sauce for my pho. When I asked for more again more attitude. Then he only gave me another tiny package. I like plenty to dip meatball in. When getting the sweet and sour chicken, the chicken was over cooked and hard. It was so hard my mother chipped her tooth trying to eat it. They still only have plastic ware and no sauces or napkins at table. If you want anything you have to go to front because only time they will come to your table is to drop off the food. This is hands down my new favorite Chinese spot. We happened to pop in today when our usual spot was unexpectedly closed. I'm so glad we did! Wow! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a small, intimate feel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, offering suggestions of popular menu items. We tried the crab rangoons which were to die for... perfectly crisp and ooey gooey on the inside. The dipping sauce is the best I've ever had. The hot and sour soup was fantastic and a little on the spicy side which we enjoyed. The Szechuan chicken and fried rice were also amazing.
