I sat at the bar and appreciated the company of the bartenders who were helpful and appropriately conversational. The staff made sure I was comfortable and proactively offered a barstool with a back when they saw I had a large tote bag. Each dish had unique presentation that felt like an experience. It made me wish that I was dining with a group of friends, especially when I ordered the mysterious "the egg" for dessert. I laughed out loud at the presentation.

Excellent service and excellent staff! Every food was phenomenal and the chicken was very moist, when I thought they would be tough from looking at it

My parents and I traveled to NYC last weekend and were able to snag a Friday dinner reservation. Pro tip: book in advance because they fill up! We'd heard wonderful things about Forge and we were so excited to experience it firsthand. Firstly, the staff is top notch: Wilson and Robert were very attentive and knowledgeable (not to mention, hilarious!), and Andrew gave exceptional wine recommendations! They listened to our preferences and made thoughtful recommendations that exceeded all our expectations. I highly suggest trusting the staff's recommendations - I promise you won't be disappointed. Whether you're dining with family, friends, for business or for a date night, the ambiance at Forgione fits all occasions. From the moment we arrived until we left (bellies stuffed) everyone at Forge made sure our experience was unforgettable.

I love la this restaurant. It was recommended by a friend who has lived in NYC for 40 years who said they have the best roast chicken in the city. Our waiter recommended the Shishitos and they did not disappoint. The Duck in a jar was also delicious, as was the Laotian sushi. We also enjoyed the Corn explosion ravioli which is light and delicate and does explode, so biting into the ravioli was not recommended. The sourdough with cultured butter was delicious and we loved the presentation. The mind blowing dish was the Hiramasa. Get this dish! I'm so glad that our waiter recommended it. My mother and nephew had the chicken. Not knowing how one defines "big" we ordered two of them, and the halibut. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious. We should have ordered one chicken but it allowed my nephew to take a lot of food home. We finished our meal with the 10-minute cookies which were delicious. My only complaint was the service which was on the slower side despite there being a ton of staff. Great wine and drink selection. I'd definitely go back!

3.7 stars for Forgione (Forge? Marc Forgione?), which in its former space was a personal favorite when I lived in Tribeca. Food: 3 stars. The menu, like the restaurant itself, struggled with identity. In the same breath, we ordered Japanese, Italian, American, and French. And he who chases 4 rabbits catches none. Also sadly the biscuits that were such a highlight at Marc Forgione (and American Cut) were nowhere to be found. Service: 3 stars. Our waiter was very friendly but overly talkative, speaking for minutes at a time after simple questions. We also had a stretch where we didn't see him for about 30 minutes after we had finished our mains. Ambiance: 5 stars. Beautiful upscale rustic space, and good people watching. The space is a freshened up, modernized version of its former digs. Every table was taken and the bar area was buzzy - would be a good place to grab a cocktail with a date or friend.

My girlfriend and I celebrated our anniversary at Marc Forgione, and it was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was warm and intimate--perfect for a special night out. The menu offers a wide variety, and everything we tried was outstanding. We started with the Hiramasa, which was light, fresh, and beautifully balanced. The standout of the night, though, was the Chili Lobster. It totally lived up to the hype--rich, spicy, and packed with flavor, especially when paired with the perfectly toasted bun. Service was excellent from start to finish. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made us feel like we were truly being taken care of. They even brought a little something extra to help us celebrate our anniversary, which was a really thoughtful touch. Marc Forgione definitely made our night special. We're already planning to come back--and bringing friends next time

absolutely exceptional dining experience. from the friendliness and excellence of the staff, to the quality and refreshing cuisine - it was an unbelievable dining experience. every course felt like an experience and the fresh ingredients and flavors were evident in every dish. the chili lobster appetizer was a stand out. The halibut was one of the best I have ever had. you have to end the dinner with the warm chocolate chip cookie. will be going again!

Chili Lobster and Exploding Ravioli

This was my first time at the new location, and it definitely feels a bit cozier than their previous spot down the block. The space gets a little tight especially around the entrance, but once you're seated you feel right at home. We had the hiramasa which I highly recommend you try. It's one of the their better known dishes and is a pretty unique tasting experience. They also have a rotating seasonal menu of "exploding" raviolis, with the current iteration being all the flavors of a baked potato packed into a ravioli. We also had the chili lobster and chicken under a brick - two staples that I've gotten every time that I've come here and have never disappointed. We finished up our dinner with the pumpkin cheesecake. The staff was attentive, but we did feel a little rushed by the busboy during each course. While we still had a pleasant and relatively unhurried meal, we were told as we were finishing our main course that they needed the table back in 15 minutes for another party. It would have been nice to know earlier in the dinner since we ate at a reasonable pace but didn't understand why the busboy was in such a rush. We would not have minded the heads up and felt like we still had plenty of time to dine especially if they communicated to us earlier.

Getting a reservation here is very hard. One just popped up in my Resy app for lunch though, so I…read morewent for it. It was my first time here although, it has been around for ages. The front part where you first walk in is the bar area with some tables. This restaurant is on the darker side and brings you back in time. Once you walk in further that is where the main dinning room is. This is also on the darker side as you can maybe tell by my photos. The wall paper and art around the restaurant is cool and there are some monkey statues around the restaurant. I was seated in a corner table in a booth area that seemed to be for at least 2-3 people. I thought for sure they would seat me at the bar area. I had a wonderful waitress whose name I think was Taylor but I could be wrong. I ordered the Monkey bread to start off with. It's a very buttery bread with truffle and parm cheese on top. I have alot of allergies and I was searching online if I could even have truffles as I have a nut allergy. So, I asked the waitress and she said she had never heard this. But, she came back to me and told me that White truffle grows near or like over where Almonds grow from but that, they don't use white truffle so I was all good. Well, this was super nice of her to check for me. I had no idea she was going to do this. She said the restaurant has strict protocols when it comes to food allergies. I then got for my main dish the double cheese burger with onions and pickles. To drink I had the cucumber martini. WOW everything was pretty darn good!! I passed on dessert. If you get a chance or a reservation pops up in your resy to go, even if it is for lunch..I highly say go for it.

From the moment we sat down, the service set the tone for the entire experience. Our server was…read moreincredibly warm, upbeat, and full of energy--one of those people who genuinely elevates a meal. I only wish I could remember her name because she deserves the recognition. We started with drinks, and mine ended up being a surprise standout. I ordered the coconut margarita, slightly hesitant since I'm not usually a margarita fan--but it completely won me over. It struck a perfect balance and leaned just enough into the coconut to make it feel unique without being overpowering. My sister-in-law, who's pregnant, had a non-alcoholic Ritual margarita and loved it, noting how convincingly it mimicked the real thing. Since we were sharing, we got to try a good mix of the menu. The monkey bread came first--definitely a splurge at $34, but it's one of those fun, indulgent starters that's worth ordering at least once. While I wouldn't call it the best bread I've ever had, I also wouldn't change anything about it. The crab rangoon was another highlight. Having it made with real crab made a noticeable difference, and the dipping sauces complemented it really well. It felt like a more elevated take on something familiar. For mains, the French dip was a hit. The meat was incredibly tender, the bread had that ideal crusty exterior, and the au jus was packed with flavor--I was very glad I ordered extra. It pulled the whole dish together. We also tried the smoked whitefish Caesar, which was the only dish that didn't quite land for me. It was a well-made, fresh salad, but the smoked fish flavor was a bit overpowering and took over the balance of the dish. Even though we were too full for dessert, the restaurant surprised us with a scoop of strawberry ice cream with chocolate sauce to celebrate my sister-in-law's babymoon. It ended up being one of the most memorable bites of the meal--we're still talking about how good that ice cream was. We arrived right at 11:45, and by the time we left, the place was absolutely buzzing. It's clearly a popular spot, and for good reason. Between the lively atmosphere, strong service, and well-executed food, I'd highly recommend making a reservation if you can.

This is the first time in my 36 years of life that I had meatballs and lasagna at a restaurant. Both were excellent. For appetizers we ordered: - Pinwheel lasagna - we felt that we had to try this and we are so glad that we did. It was gooey and delicious. The Robiolina cheese was a wonderful in this dish. The super thin pasta was tender. - Chrysanthemum salad - How have I never known that chrysanthemum salad could be so delicious? Someone else described the dressed as "bright" and I cannot think of a better way to describe the fresh taste. - Stuffed garlic flatbread - Reminiscent of artichoke dip baked in bread; good, but our least favorite item. - BBQ calamari - tender and flavorful For our main courses: - Sorpresine & Smoked Mussels - So much flavor on this "surprise" pasta. The combination of flavors was slightly unexpected, but everything worked beautifully together. The mussels were tender and added the perfect amount of smokiness to this dish. - Garganelli Giganti - The sauce and meatballs were perfection. I am very picky with sauce and this was really tasty. - Chicken Scarpariello - Veal "da Pepi" - This was the star (for me at least). I didn't know what to expect with speck, horseraddish, and banana peppers, but WOW. The veal cutlet was thin and tender. The breading was extremely crisp. Veal is very easy to dry out especially when this thin. - side of Charred Broccolini We all were able to share all of our items amongst the four of us which made it a great way to try so many different items on the menu. I also had a "Two Yoots" to drink. I was initially tickled by the My Cousin Vinny reference, but then felt I needed to try prosciutto washed rum. The rum mixed with min and cantaloupe very just as refreshing as I had hoped it to be. I wanted to try Nonna's nip, but I wanted to make sure I had enough room for all the food. My husband, parents, and I came in for lunch on a Sunday. This restaurant is tiny and it was packed, but service was excellent. I don't love the Open Table reservation situation, but that is about the only negative thing I have to say about our experience with Don Angie. Very thick and flavorful sauce along with the nice texture of the mafaldine pasta and nice and tender meat made this such a great dish. Very generous portion size, too. Even when we were finished and we stayed and talked a bit, we weren't rushed by the waiter and he let us continue to stay and talk. That was pretty cool of him. Also came by several times to drop off water and check if we needed anything else. Some negatives are that the place is pretty dark and kind of cramped.
