Food is fine. Seems reliable. The problem really is the mediocre service. Was rarely checked on. We were without drinks for what seemed to be 30 minutes. I asked the waiter for salt and pepper and he seemed to be put out. read more

I sat down outside. Five minutes later my waiter came and asked for an order. I asked for a water, a beer and a shot of bourbon. Five more minutes passed. He came back out and went to the table next to me for their order. Five more minutes passed. He came out again and asked for a food order, I asked about my drinks (a beer and a shot should take 30 seconds and there were zero people at the bar inside) and he told me it was placed. I ordered an appetizer. Seven more minutes went by, I got up and left. I didn't consume anything or dine and dash, nothing was ever brought to me. Not a busy night, only a handful of tables with people. Horrible service. read more

Decent food, kind staff, comfortable seating, warm and cozy atmosphere. My friend and I both got the burger, she got the waterfront once and I got a drink that had the word ma belle in it. I found mine refreshing and I think she liked hers too. We came around 5:45pm on a Wednesday and it was quiet. Got busier by the time we left. read more

This is a very good 4 star review. Yves is in a wonderful location in Tribeca, near the Hudson, on the corner of the block with ample outdoor and indoor seating. There's a bar, the drinks are good and the crowd is after work happy hours and dates. It's a French bistro that feels like at times is trying to be more but also stretching to be just that. For example the food and drinks are good, not stellar and the service is ok at best. The prices are reasonable but the portions are smaller, so without the exceptional service or outstanding presentation or new takes on classics it falls just the smallest bit flat. We invited friends here and had a nice time but probably will not come back. read more

They have great duck and potato hash! Fresh orange juice. Aesthetic and perfectly balanced cocktails.

The food is great. Everything we had was really great quality and taste. This place is pretty busy and loud so the waitress got a few items wrong, but they were quick to fix them. The staff does hover a bit, but everyone has been friendly. read more

We stopped by for a drink after walking down the West Side Highway- definitely coming back. The service was very attentive and friendly - I was told they just got a new GM and have been building their staff up, and it shows. Only had the Orange wine (honestly a great orange wine- had 2 glasses), and escargot (super delicious). We will be coming back for brunch this weekend! Really cute street and intersection in Tribeca. If it gets windy outside they have blankets, fyi. read more

My friend was served a dish with a worm in it. The plate was replaced, but she had to ask for it to be taken off the bill -- something that should have been done immediately without question. At a restaurant of this level, the right thing would have been to comp both meals, especially since as a party of two I had to sit across from her and witness the worm myself. Also, I had to ask for my fork to be replaced as the one I had was dirty. The experience completely ruined our dinner, and the lack of proactive customer care was very disappointing. read more

great bloody mary but too spicy for my taste 7/10 ($16) Amazing iced americano (no sugar or milk) 10/10 Goat cheese omlette so good 9/10 ($19) basically id recommended this if you want a good quick breakfast, not boozy brunch vibes. We found this French/Moroccan spot, loved the menu online, and decided to go for brunch. Honestly, it was a pretty good meal, but it was an interesting experience. We got the Boursin, chocolate chip pancakes, shakshuka, and fries. Fries were super good and I loved the mayo aioli they came with. Shakshuka eggs were amazingggg and the pita bread it was paired with was perfection. Pancakes were super light and fluffy, and the ice cream atop them was creamy and delicious. Personally, I wasn't the fan of the Boursin -- I thought it would have the sweetness of cheese, but found it to be overwhelmingly bitter and sour. My friend, however, really enjoyed it, so clearly it just wasn't for me. Service was interesting -- we didn't immediately get the menus as soon as we were seated, and we were sort of rushed out/got subtle hints to leave less than an hour after sitting even though the restaurant was pretty empty. It was super quiet inside too even though there were a few other people there for brunch. I'll have to come back again during a more lively time! Overall, good food and will keep this restaurant in mind in the future, esp for din read more

I cannot even say how great this place was for dinner. I came here with three other friends to celebrate a birthday. From the moment I walked in the bartender and everyone else couldn't have been friendlier. We shared the shrimp and goat cheese apps (2 separate apps); both delicious. They were also very generous with additional bread as we wanted. We then shared the steak, pasta, and mussel entrees. All just fantastic. To finished we had the bread pudding, profiterole, and sorbet. Nothing disappointed. It was so nice to see everyone working together. Our table was helped by the host, waitress, bartender. Everyone was so pleasant, never feeling rushed to leave. Totally going back again and would recommend to anyone! read more

I liked Yves a lot - it reminds me of a slightly more grown-up (and hometown) version of Maison Kayser. I came here for brunch so I can't speak to the dinner but the food was pretty tremendous. Let's just say if you can't get a table at Locanda Verde, Yves is by no means a consolation prize. Y'all know how much I can never pass up granola on a brunch menu. The version at Yves' was something I'll definitely try to replicate in my own kitchen with the addition of one unique ingredient, rhubarb! It lent a sweetness that went really well with the strawberry and honey. My group's dishes were all delicious too, I tried each one and I couldn't pick a favorite. You can't go wrong. The seasonal quiche with gruyere probably stood out the most: know that for $17, you are getting your money's worth with an enormous slice and a perfect, flaky bottom. Also liked the croque madame and the blueberry pancakes that the waitress offered with vanilla ice cream. We were all still feeling an enormous meal the night before but if I had come back in an hungrier mode, there were more than a few appetizers I had my eye on (the boursin and the Arctic char tartine). read more

I found out about this restaurant because it's on Seated, but from the start I wasn't too impressed with their menu since it's a bit limited. I came around 7:15 on a Friday night, and the restaurant was packed. The next table wouldn't be available until 8:30, but the server told us that there's a full menu at the bar, so we decided to head over there. A couple stools ended up freeing up within 15 minutes, so we ordered drinks/entrees. I ordered the Best Lei'd Plans ($16) cocktail, and it was delicious. As an entree, I went with the salmon ($28). To be honest, I really didn't think the entree was worth the $. The fish was a bit rubbery and the salad didn't taste like anything. My friend ordered the cheeseburger ($21), and I will say the shoestring fries were good! Overall, this is a cute place to grab a drink, but it's just okay food-wise. read more

Had Market Salad and Pasta/Orechiette The favor of salad was like scatter plot, separated but not conflicted. Many sweat beans was hidden under the mountain of pasta. Need to dig them out. My sister invited me out because she wanted to try a "new American" restaurant with a flare of French dishes. It was so appetizing. I am so glad I was able to go. It is a small imitate restaurant with is great for going to for a date night. From the food to the ambiance and even the waiters are awesome. Our waiter was knowledgable of the dishes and gave us great advice on both the drinks and food. It was so helpful because I can never decide on a good drink to pair with my food. The dessert....omg...was on point. It was just the amount of sweetness I enjoy after my entree. This is a restaurant which everyone should visit in downtown Manhattan. You will not be disappointed. read more

Nice neighborhood bistro that serves classic American cuisine. Menu is relatively short and contained (which I like), and there's something for everyone, whether you're pescatarian, vegetarian or carnivorous. The chicken schnitzel is massive and delicious - a combination that I'm very into. Wines are great as well. The selection leans French but they have a decent variety from other regions as well. For example, I had a lovely orange wine from Valencia, Spain. read more

You can always count on Tribeca restaurants to deplete your wallet at the end of a long night. But most of the time they're worth it. Yves is one of them. Call me basic, but I ordered THE Spaghetti. Yup, I paid $22 for roasted cherry tomatoes, toasted garlic, basil, olive oil, and parmesan...a meal that I could have easily had at home. BUT. Do not be fooled. I don't know what their secret is, but this spaghetti was somehow just SO good. It was not too creamy nor too salty, which made it easy to stomach with a sugar-heavy drink on the side. My bf also really liked his Moules Frites (fancy name for mussels & fries), so I am inclined to say that this place is worth depleting your wallet. We're coming back for the steak frites next time. And maybe I'll have another order of basic spaghetti :) read more

Good food but very overpriced. Even charged me $2 for a 'side' of butter to spread on my dry sourdough. Not impressed with that at all. Service was not good either - the wait staff were about to take my plate away when I was clearly still eating. The whole experience was very strange - would not go out of my way to go there again unfortunately read more

Yves has been a bit of a local hit since it first opened, but it reached international fame in late October when President Barack Obama, Robert Denio and Tim Cook went to Yves for dinner. The vibe is great and the cocktails are excellent, but the food can be average. The veal schnitzel was excellent, but everything else was just ok. The staff seems disorganized with no one in charge. read more

Stopped by for brunch on Sunday with my mom, and we both enjoyed the food and the super friendly service. I started with the Beauty & the Brut cocktail, which was tart, but in a good way (it contains plum & red wine). We shared some avocado toast and let me tell, we agreed this dish was a can't miss! The spices on top are a mix of savory with a hint of sweet that is perfectly complementary to the avo. My mom got the croque madame, which she really enjoyed. I got chocolate chip pancakes, that weren't particularly heavy on the chips, but the pancakes themselves were so good, I ended up not minding. And of course, make sure you order some crispy Pommes Frites for the table (with all the sauces)! read more

Yves is a nice spot for drinks with ample sidewalk seating, including some of your more desirable side street seating options. If you hop off the Hudson River Park after a stroll on a particularly humid day, as I did, it's as nice a place as any for a quality glass of wine or a solid cocktail. I had a mezcal cocktail with some nice spicy bitters added that was well done, and a nice glass of Lambrusco. Our brunch experience was a bit disappointing food-wise, on the other hand. I had the Yves breakfast--scrambled eggs were ok if a bit mushy, but it's been a long time since I've had such weird, disappointing bacon. Thin and overly cooked to the point of being flavorless, it looked and tasted as if someone took some vegan bacon or an old package of Sizzlean and just dropped an iron on top of it for WAY too long. The country toast that came with it was quite good, at least, but you really don't want your toast to be the highlight of your brunch. My friend got the salad with grilled chicken, which was deemed "fine." I say this all noting that I'm trying to grade gently these days and not complain as much as I perhaps normally would... I'm just happy to have nice places open in the city--it's just... hard not to feel the letdown of disappointing bacon. read more

{Overall: 4; Food: 4} Atmosphere: 4.5; Service: 4 Yum! Impressed by the French food here. Great Tribeca spot - still has the upscale atmosphere without being too expensive or stuffy. Yves was my second dinner during my trip to NYC last weekend. I met an old high school friend who now lives in Manhattan there. She had been given the recommendation from a friend. Yves reminds me a lot of the trendy new restaurants that are starting to pop up in downtown Detroit. It's in the TriBeCa neighborhood, which is apparently a new hot-spot as of the last decade or so. The food and sevice was good, but it was pricey. It wasn't anything spectacular, but it's what I expected. It may have been what I ordered. I'm not the most adventurous eater, so some of the things didn't appeal to me. I should have tried something new, but opted for the burger as a safer option. read more

I went here for a family dinner and i have to say the place is beautiful, the ambiance is really nice. A great place for a date but not for the food. Just come for the aesthetic but eat before. The food really missed a lot of flavor. I am Gf and the fries are dipped in flour so couldn't eat those. Almost nothing was Gf, very little and what was was BLAND AF. We also were the only ones at the restaurant when we came in and they sat us right next to the door letting in cold air. The door kept opening and letting in cold air and when people came in to the restaurant they left door open. We had to call the waiters over multiple times to close it so we wouldn't freeze. You shouldn't be wearing your winter coat at a restaurant but at this table everyone did. My mom got the chicken dish which was pretty but had no flavor just tasted like a rotisserie chicken from Costco that's it for that price point. Super disappointing! I had the steak and asked instead of fries can i have vegetables. My steak came out with so much fat on it, and the place is dark so i had to get my flashlight out to make sure i wasn't eating the fat. The sauce that they paired with it was very bad, not a good combination. The green beans were good so good job for that. Sorry just have to be honest! read more

Came across this little gem on a Saturday evening. Sat outside and watched the sunset over the river. The food was great! We enjoyed tuna tartare to start with. Followed by lamb and the pasta. The lamb was pretty spicy, although packed with flavors. The pasta was light and rich. The serving sizes are definitely on the smaller side besides the burger. The service was a bit slow, but during a busier time. The drink menu seemed to lack in the wine category with few options. We would go back for the ambiance and food. read more

Bottom line: Yves is a 4.5 star Tribeca dining experience. Very intimate space, good service, excellent menu to choose from and the food itself delicious. Not the cheapest destination to eat but I say they are worth it for the most part. I am a fan! The Deets: Yves is a very inviting and intriguing place in the Tribeca area that a good friend frequents before heading home after his work day is done...we decided to try it out and see what it is all about. It is a pretty small venue, a bit dark but I like the bistro like feel. I can't decide if I would call the menu American influenced French or American/French hybrid, or many other derivatives but what they have done is put together a very nice selection of offerings on their menu. We sat at the bar, and our bartender/server was excellent...great customer service. For our visit, we started with the Fried Pork Rillettes served with mustard and pickles. The pork is cubed/chopped and fried up/breaded, with the middle winding up a bit like a pâté after it's all done. These lil nuggets were delicious, loved it...do know that the order was only two pieces so we got one each, and it was great. My next course I ordered Braised Chicken Meatballs ("Coq au Vin" red wine, parsnip, mirepoix per menu) and I liked these, but did not expect the bit of spice that were contained within. I'm not one to enjoy spicy, but this hint was not overwhelming and I could make it through OK because the taste in general was good. My main/last course I selected the Veal Schnitzel (with sauce vert, bitter greens, lemon, poached egg per menu). This schnitzel is some of the best I have had other than in Bavaria itself, very seriously. I was so full after all I had but I enjoyed the meal thoroughly. All combined with a wonderful prosecco by the glass, I had a great experience here at Yves and would gladly come here again. I'd put them around 4.5 stars (they are a bit expensive, do note the prices but most items are worth it) and I am looking forward to seeing them again in the future. read more

Listen to me, there's a fried egg sandwich and there's a Fried Egg Sandwich--Yves is the latter. What a meal, are you kidding me! Honestly had high hopes for this place. The location is nice, the decor is cute and I loved the ambiance. For the food, we tried the homemade Boursin (5* without hesitation), the escargots (amazing, 5* too). However, the main dish was disappointing. My husband and I took the chicken roast for two. The meat, moist and perfectly cooked, was bland and tasteless. The bread they brought (part of the chicken dish) was rock hard, clearly old. The butter also brought on the board was FULLY melted to the point we actually thought it was a sauce... our friends ordered the steak frites, the waiter told us they were out of fries and that they would serve chips and firstly refused to serve some fingerling potatoes (that are part of the chicken roast dish). CHIPS. With a 50$ steak? After some negotiation they agreed to give the potatoes. I don't recommend the place especially considering the high prices of their food and the actual experience of it. read more

Overall the food is pretty good. The homemade Boursin is freaking good and the escargot, along with the beef tartare was excellent. But honestly guys...this $22 cheese plate is embarassing. This restaurant tries a little too hard to be hip and doesn't focus enough on making good food. We shared the market salad to start which was fresh but just ok. I got the pistachio crusted salmon which was amazing and my husband got the roasted chicken which loved. We got a side of the grilled artichokes which were the best artichokes that I've ever had. I wish I could swim in that sauce - it was so good. For dessert, we got the profiteroles which were decent.
