I also wanted to mention that I pay close attention to the cleanliness of salons and whether they speak different language while providing services (as I find that rude and very unprofessional). I mean it's ok when they have a person who speaks poor English and they tell them what to do in their own language but I've been to salons where they have extended conversations in their language and I'll be sitting there so uncomfortable wondering what on earth are they talking about and why they think this is ok. Believe the stars! One of the worst nail experiences. I decided to give this place a chance because it's across my house and it was last minute. But will never go back or recommend. I went in on a Tuesday evening to get a full set - french tip almond shape. Was charged $65 (not including tip) which is not a big deal. The white tips were completely off. Didn't say anything at the moment because I was honestly too embarrassed. The next day Wednesday - four nails were already chipped. I called the salon (something I've never done with any nail salon) told them what happened. Then got hung up on. Then called again AND got hung up on AGAIN. I called a third time because I thought it was strange and the owner said she wasn't going to give me my money back (I had not asked for that or anything). Then she said that I could go in again for her to see the nails. I went in after work and she offered to change the color because she said the white in French does not dry well (used a gel coat). I agreed to change it to a red (trying to make things easier and end how uncomfortable the situation was) but AGAIN the worst paint job ever. STILL BUMPY and now I feel ripped off because this is not what I had paid for in the first place. I didn't even bother complaining to her again. SAVE your hard earned money. Go somewhere else this place is NOT IT. No one deserves to get a shitty nail service (especially if it's for a special occasion) when that's what you look forward to. read more

Yesterday i had gotten my nails done here and was not happy with them at all. Then i believe the owner (Brittney) had reached out to me asking if she could fix them for me. I went in this morning and i can't even explain how professional and friendly they were even though i left them a bad review. I went there today with my husband so we both could get pedicures. We will not be back. The place was dirty. The water was barely even warm. My pedicure doesn't look good. The girl asked my husband if he really wanted one. We got the exact same pedicure and when it was time to pay the price was different. I asked why and she said "because he isn't a lady". REALLY. I came here last week because my usual nail place was busy. I thought I would try a new place and thought this place would be good after reading the reviews. Well...I thought wrong. Firstly, there were only two workers working there when I first walked in and two customers so they told us to come back later after putting our names down in their book. When I came back, the person they were doing when I first came, was still there. The second thing is THEY TOOK FOREVER! Me and the person I came with just came for acrylic fills and color and they took almost three hours to do both of ours. Also, on their sign outside it says $25 for an acrylic fill but they charged me $40. I asked for a french tip design with regular nail polish (which I've gotten done before somewhere else) but the lady doing my nails said she couldn't do it unless she used no chip polish which wasn't necessary since I have gotten the design before with just regular polish. Instead, I ended up getting plain colors which the lady took SOOO long to do. On top of her taking so long to paint my nails, she said she was going to put on "special top coat" that doesn't chip or break. Later that night, my nail on my right thumb chipped. The next morning I woke up, and my finger on my right hand chipped. A few days later, the nail on my thumb on my left hand broke and I've had acrylics for a long time before, and I know that it rarely happens. I don't recommend coming to this place unless you have lots of time to spare and want to waste unnecessary money. read more

They offered suggestions and made known all the pricing up front so there weren't any surprises when checking out. I recently moved here and with so many nail salons in this area I was worried about finding one that really does put the customer first. By far the worst nail place I have been to. Paid $45 for a dip powder manicure that chipped and cracked literally the next day. EVERY NAIL! The lady also cut my nails down so far without even asking me. I like having long natural nails. I was so upset when she did that, cut them past the skin. You could see my skin on every finger. The lady was very friendly, and the place itself was very clean, so I'll give them that. Definitely find someplace else to go! read more

Very disapponted in my acrylic set today... ive been here before and everyone is usually very friendly.. today however i called in advance to get an appointment at 6. They didn't start on me til 630.. then as the lady puts the fake nail on my fingers the glue BURNED the sides of my fingers. I told her nicely it was burning my fingers and she tells me its because my fingers weren't relaxed....after she puts my nail color on she had gotten alot of it on the sides pf my fingers and on the back of my fingers. When i asked if she could remove the nail polish she goes "oh where" and uses the nail polish remover on a finger that didnt even have polish on it.....now when i get home im going to have clean the nail polish off myself. I absolutley love this place. They are super nice people, the services are the best around, and believe me, I have tried them all! Everything is always clean. I found forever nails about 4 years ago. I had been going to another salon in Huntley, who has since closed down. After getting a nail fungus, I decided to try another place. I tried a few along Algonquin Road, west of Randall Road and was not happy. I stoped at a place on Algonquin and Sqaure Barn Road and asked the woman if she knew how to do Pink and Whites. She said yes. She applied the tips and as she began to do the first nail, I stopped her and said, Im sorry, but I dont feel very comfortable with your ability. I asked her if I could pay her for the tips, but didnt want her to continue. Never in my life have I done something like this, but I just couldnt continue. She truely didnt know what she was doing. I was not mean or rude to the woman, but I had to leave. (this salon is no longer in business either). I got in my car and started driving towards Randall Road and there on my right side, I saw Forever Nails. I walked in and asked if there was anyone available to "fix" my nails. I actually started to cry as I explained that I am not a difficult customer, but had to walk out of the last place that I was at. They were so kind to me. They got me a tissue and a bottle of water, sat me down and did the best job on my nails that I have ever had. I have been going there ever since. Nancy and her husband are great people. They are friendly and always let me know of the newest and latest products and services. There are places that do it to make money. You know those places that are always trying to sell you something! Forever Nails does it to make keep thier clients current on whats new. I even love the way my nails smell. Funny to say, but they smell like tanning lotion!! I'm always on the lookout for a good nail salon near me. I'm not fussy but I have two simple expectations. (1) Clean environment with sanitized tools and (2) a nail tech who I can easily communicate with and who takes pride in his/ her work. I always check Yelp for reviews before trying a place for the first time and I noticed the 5 star reviews were older while the 1 star reviews were more recent. However due to the convenience of the location I took a chance, armed with a picture of what I wanted. I'm so happy with my nails, they're beautiful. Jacqueline took the time to explain different methods for achieving the look, communicated politely and pulled it off effortlessly. Even though I was a walk in doing a full set with no chip polish and design on a very busy Saturday I did not feel rushed. Extensive polish selection. It's probably best to make an appointment. WORST NAIL SALON EVER. The whole experience was absolutely horrible. WARNING - DO NOT GO HERE. When I walked in there was a little boy (who I would later find out was the employees son) running around and knocked into me as I walked in. Not a big deal! But as I was picking out my color for my nail polish I set down my drink next to me and the little boy ran up, took my drink and started drinking it!!! His mom (the employee) said absolutely nothing but watched him do this. Already annoyed I sat in the chair to get my pedicure. I told the guy doing my pedicure I get in grown toe nails so if he could please make sure to fix those. Never touched them once after I asked him MULTIPLE times. Did not scrub my foot (asked him twice and he said no, does not come with package), I chose the 35.00 pedicure that says full pedicure on their menu so not sure if that makes sense. Then while I'm getting my pedicure the woman (boy's mom) comes over and yanks my right hand across my chest and starts with the machine that grinds down my cuticles, it started to hurt so I told her that and she said "no it's fine", then scrapes my other nails on my left hand and my finger starts to bleed!! I asked for a band aid and never got one. The nail polish on my toes did not go down all the way so I asked him to fix that. He said "we are busy". As the woman finished up my dip manicure I let her know she did not go down all the way to the cuticle with my nail polish either, she said "it's because your nails are shaped bad so I can't go down" ????? I said no, they are shaped the same way they always are and I've never had this problem. She said "it's fine". Then, against my better judgement, I went through with the eyebrow wax I scheduled myself for. The woman did it. I asked her to just take a small amount off the bottom of my brows. She took off 75% of my eyebrows. I had an allergic reaction to the wax and told her it burned and to please stop. She stopped and said "just put water on it" and left my one eyebrow thicker than the other. I paid against my better judgement and as soon as I got into the car and looked at myself in the mirror I called and told them it was a horrible experience, etc about my eyebrows and I wanted a refund because I was going to have to get my nails and toes re-done somewhere else. The woman said "absolutely I will provide a full refund", then calls me today and says "sorry the owner said we are not refunding you, don't come here again" and hung up. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PLACE!!!!!!! I will make sure everyone knows to NEVER come here. read more

I dont usually write reviews and deal with stuff like this.. But holy shit. If i could give 0 stars i would!!!! Here is my story.. Went in for a no chip pedi.. The lady starts trimming my cuticles as she is doing that she goes underneath my toe nail and clips it all the way to the middle of my nail.. I start bleeding she takes her towel and wipes it off like nothing happened didn't even apologize.. Then i asked her what just happened she told me "nothing your nail is like that"..... Uhmmmmmm no lady i dont think so.. 45 min later my toes look like a 1st grader painted them (because she got nervous after i confronted her) and not to mention she starts to filing my nails after she finished my nails.... Helllllo what is this??!?! Soooo moral of the story i payed for my pedicure full price, unfortunately i had to stiff the lady no tip. Definitely never stepping foot in this place again. DO NOT GO HERE. Customer Service could have been better. Nail Job was terrible!!!! They were shaped rounder than I had asked for, the technician did not remove my cuticles or at the very least push them back. Also at the end of the job, my nails were all different lengths. I brought my own nail polish, and wanted a two tone design that's not hard to do. The second color was just blobbed on and very uneven. It was such a bad job that my husband even noticed. I am frustrated because the technician that did my nails took her time, so I don't understand why it was such a bad job. This place is the pits. The girl that did my pedicure was horrible and rude. She took maybe 20 minutes to do my pedi from start to finish. She was in a bad mood the entire time and she seemed pissed off. Worst pedi I have ever received btw. I don't know why I went here considering I always go to Happy Nails. Worst mistake I have made in a long time. She didn't give the water a chance to fill up in the 'bowl' before she started my pedicure. The water was cool and I had told her that but she didn't listen. Very satisfied with the service here and the end result. Very clean, quiet, calm place to sit back and have someone do a good job on your nails. No one here pressured me to talk the whole time, which I loved. My fills came out looking and feeling great. I've been to locals VS nails, Holly nails, and Sunshine nails, and I didn't like them. This is the best around Algonquin. My mom has also been going here for years and says they do the best pink & whites around. I had my nails done here yesterday and I was honestly disgusted. I never write reviews but I just had to. First of all there is junk all over the place here. The girl who did my pedicure was so delicate it was frustrating. She hardly did anything to remove cuticles of to really clean things up. The worst part was that she literally put a wet stinky towel on my legs after she applied lotion. I smelled the moldy smell for the rest of the day. I then had my eyebrows done and they are not even. Horrible Customer Service! I am new to the area and have been getting my nails done for the past 15 years at various salons. While this salon is very clean, nice and upscale- some of the staff were extremely rude! The male technician was jerky, pulling my hands aggressively during the manicure and refusing to speak to me even when I asked a question. At one point 2 staff members stood over me speaking in their native language despite having spoken fluent English the rest of the time I was there. When it was time to dry my nails the technician just pointed and said "go over there". When my nails were dry no one came over to check on me. I just got up and left and no one even said thank you or goodbye. I was hoping to make this my new permanent nail salon because it is nice and has an upscale feel that I prefer.
