This review is specifically for Teri who, despite receiving an agitated voicemail form a frustrated customer, gave great customer service. I've been going to Foresight since we moved to the area about 2 years ago and have always been satisfied (both Dr. Joy and her husband are great optometrists). Recently, needing to use up some FSA cash, I decide to drop off my glasses to have the lenses updated to my current prescription (I'm predominately a contact wearer, but will use my glass in the morning/at night, whenever my contacts are giving me issues or during high pollen/smoke season). I was told two weeks which in theory isn't a big deal, but we've been having a ton of smoke due to the fires in the north which, on top of now wearing my contacts for 15 hours+ and walking around blind in the morning/at night, has been killing my eyes. I checked in on the two week mark, and was told I could pick them up on Saturday anytime after 11 a.m. but did not specify a closing time. Due to an even on that Saturday, I had my husband pick up the glasses.. he got there around 2:20 p.m, which was before closing time as listed on Yelp, only to find it closed. In fact, on several different site, including the business website, the closing time on Saturdays is unclear and confusing. To make matters more complicated, Foresight is closed on Sundays and only open until 5 p.m. during the week (DH and I both work and sit in traffic - no way we could get home by 5 p.m.). Needless to say, I was frustrated, in pain and all I could think of was going through another painful week of not having my glasses. I called on Sunday, leaving a voicemail, expressing my frustration at the conflicting times, the inability to get my glasses during the week and let them know I'm reconsidering doing business there due to the restricting hours.. Monday morning, before 9 a.m., I receive a text from Teri letting me know she got my VM, appreciated the feedback on the confusing times and would look into getting it fixed, and offered to stay late so that I could get my glasses. I was completely floored and instantly felt ashamed for my voicemail - I never thought they would acknowledge, let alone respond, to me. If anything, I was anticipating silence, a cold shoulder or getting blamed for not coming before closing (this has never happened here, but has been an experience with other businesses). Additionally, she sympathized with my frustration, reminded me to check the lenses for issues and to let her know personally of any problems, and, upon conclusion of our conversation, wished me a great day. This experience has restored my faith that excellent customer service still exists and that this business will assist the customer to the best of their ability, giving positive and sincere service to someone who isn't happy or being particularly nice. Teri, from the bottom of my heart, thank you - you are a gem of an employee and I hope your employers know how lucky they are to have you. read more

I am a bit disappointed with this place. For me, when it comes to eye appointments, or any dr. appointment for that matter, time is key. I ened up spending three hours at this place, and this was supposed to an in-and-out during lunch! Here is my story: I initially did a walk through on a Saturday to check things out prior to making an appointment. From the outside, my initial impression was that it looked like your typical big box retail optometrist. But when I went inside, I was pleasantly surprised. The environment was warm, the staff was friendly, and the inventory selection was about par. B/c I had recently moved to the area, I was in need of my annual eye exam so I can get a new pair of specs before year's end. So during my first visit, the staff helped me book the appointment fairly quickly - it was set for the following Monday. I typically wait weeks or even months to schedule my exam, so I was excited! The only caveat was that the appointment was during my work hours, so time was going to be of the essence. I expressed my concern to the staff, but they assured me I would be fine with about an hour, to an hour and a half max to get the appointment done. I was all set! Fastforward to Monday (day of appt). So being the overly punctual person that I am (to me, punctuality is a matter of respect!), I show up about 10 minutes early. I had all my paperwork completed already, but I figured I should leave a little time just in case something else pops up. I arrive around 9:50 for a 10am appointment. Since this place opens at 9, and my "appointment" was for 10, what are the odds of a large delay! Here is where things went south. After signing one piece of paper (HIPAA), and showing my ID, all was done. I sat down with the hopes of waiting 5-10 mins. I ended up sitting for about 35 until I finally get called - and the lady who called me up, although pleasant and lovely and adequate in her all duties, wasn't even the Dr. All she did was a little pre-work/scans of my eyes, etc. Once finished after about 15 minutes, I was moved to a room. By this point, my allotted hour was about up so I was getting antsy. Naturally, I walk up front to ask the receptionist what was going on (salt to the wound: she was signing out a customer who had arrived probably 20 minutes after me!). She realized that I had been waiting this entire time and immediately apologized, beginning her search for the Dr. I return to the room and wait for a timetable on the Dr. The receptionist came into my room again to apologize an let me know she be in shortly (another 10 - 15 minutes). At last, the doc arrives and my exam resumes. We finish in probably 30 - 40 minutes. Now time to wait for the dilation to set in (another 20 minutes). By this point, it is about noon, so two hours into it. To kill two birds with one stone, the doc had me sit with a glasses technician to pick out some glasses, but I already had some picked out so I ended up sitting around for another 20 mins. She called me back into to do the final review (probably another 20 mins). I end up leaving at about 1245 so almost three hours later!!! I get it, there was a mix up with my file - people make mistakes. But when you know that someone has already been overlooked, don't continue your lackadaisical process and handlings as you would ffor someone who wasn't overlooked - push it through! Don't get me wrong, everyone was extremely nice, but in the end, I felt neglected which is definitely the last impression a company would want to give to their client particularly during the first visit. read more

Wow, I had to double check that this was the correct business after seeing all of the 5-stars, but it is, and my experience here was completely different. I had purchased glasses here in the past and they were fine, but this time I spent over $1,000 and wish I had spent it with a business that appreciated my business and was a lot more welcoming. I went in Friday about 30 minutes before they closed because I lost my sunglasses and needed to replace them quickly. I was immediately made to feel that I was an imposition in their day. According to their website, Teri Williams "is dedicated to making sure our patients' visit to our office exceeds their expectations." In my case she failed miserably. She wasn't helpful at all in showing me what was available and answering my questions. She passed me off as soon as she could so that she could make her personal hotel reservations on the phone. The gentleman that then assisted me was much better, but every time we needed Teri's involvement she acted annoyed and rushed such as "you don't have any benefits available." without offering any additional details. I didn't have my prescription with me and she said they couldn't get it until Tuesday because they are closed on Monday and told me to fill out a form. Instead, I called my optometrist (Eye Carumba in the city...they are GREAT!) and they said they would fax it right over to them. Teri also insisted that I pay right away (before I was even finished getting measured) and made an appointment for me to pick my glasses up without asking for my input on a date/time that worked for me and rushed me out the door. Now I get to wait three weeks for the glasses. I really wish I had walked out as soon as I encountered Teri's attitude and gotten the glasses elsewhere. read more

I would like to start of by saying Dr. Hochstatter rocks! I have seen her a number of times this year. The first time I had driven my brother there as he wasn't able to drive himself due to an eye injury. I decided to stick around during his appointment and was impressed with how incredibly thrall Dr. Hochstatter was. I returned a couple months after that with my father for his appointment, then finally went in for my appointment last month. After collectively spending a great amount of hours there, I can without a doubt say I will not be changing doctors anytime soon! (More like ever) not only is Dr. Hochstatter consistently tending to all of your needs, she's also very personable always with a great big smile. The office as a whole is very attentive and friendly. My absolute favorite is Jackie! she helped me pick out some pretty nice frames, She's a real sweat heart. read more

It just doesn't get any better than Foresight Optometry. I had an eye emergency (o.k. not a 911 or anything - but an issue that needed to be addressed quickly). My husband had been to Foersight a couple of months prior, so I thought I would give them a call to get an appointment to be seen in the next day our so. Unbelievably they were able to fit me in 2 hours later!!! I was so impressed with all of the staff, these ladies are so professional and friendly. I've been going to Foresight Optometry for about two years now. I could not be happier with the care that have received there. Each time I go in I am very warmly welcomed by the staff and Dr. H. I've never had to wait long for an appointment and on one occasion, when I "dropped in" they even took care of me in a timely fashion. Ok so I just had my eye exam done at this place recommended to me by my girlfriend. She was thrilled with all the selection of frames they had in inventory. I must say the doctor that examined me went above and beyond to the point that she found a very little mole in my eye that other places have never mentioned before (LensCrafters). I was going on vacation and realized I was out of spare contact lenses. It was 4th of July holiday weekend as well and ordering them wouldn't get to me in time. Foresight offered to order my contacts and give me a trial pair to hold me over until I got back from my vacation. Such life saves! Everyone I spoke to there was extremely helpful and so nice! When I returned from vacation, my schedule got so hectic I was having a hard time trying to find time to pick up my lenses. I finally was able to around lunch time - when I got to their office they were closed for lunch!! But luckily, the receptionist saw me at the door and offered to help me and give me my contacts. My son has been a patient here for over 10 years and he has always gotten excellent care from both the doctors and the office staff. I can't say enough about Teri. She is fabulous! My son was due for his yearly exam in September but is moving out of state at the end of August. I told Teri the situation and let me tell you, she went above and beyond to work it out for him.She called our insurance and they agreed to let him be seen early. Then she called patients and asked them if they would mind switching their appointment time to accommodate my son's schedule. My Wife and I have been to see Dr. Jeanette Hochstatter and found her to be a very bright and professional Optometrist with a great "bedside" manor. She was very thorough and answered all of our questions. Her staff was also very pleasant and proficient on filling our prescriptions. Came back only because of Deanna but Because of Joyce never again and the doctor didn't say much when I told her my complaint. Deanna was off that day and Joyce was at the desk I told her I had dual insurance And she stated they don't coordinate benefits anymore. I said really because it was done the last time I was here. I said well it's ok I will just have to go elsewhere and she said well I can try and explained ins. Companies won't allow coordination of benefits anymore doctor agreed with her. Anyway so we stayed and in the end she mad a huge fuss over doing that. Needless to say left disappointed and didn't even finish my exam. What a waste of time. When I got home called both my insurance companies and asked if the didn't allow coordination of benefits and they both said we do it all the time maybe Joyce was just being too lazy. She has a bad attitude. On my visit before I got the wrong prescription and when Joyce handed me my reading glasses and a card to read from everything looked worse. I told her sorry but I see more blurry now. Joyce stated oh honey your eyes must be tired from work and I said well I didn't work today. The doctor checked and indeed they were the wrong prescription. Even with that I tried them again but never again. They were close to home but found a much better doctor and staff in the next shopping center. Don't need the aggravation of Joyce hating to please the pt. And the doctor allows it read more

I lost my glasses and went to Foresight to get my Rx to take to LensCrafters. Dr Hochstatter said that if I purchased frames there, she would replace the lenses free. This was about a $300 discount to me. I am so grateful to this nice company and highly recommend their services. The office staff treat you like family. read more

This place is a gem! Dr. Joy is wonderful and the staff are top notch! I've been going here for just over a year now and enjoy my experience every time. Their customer service is A++ and I love that they communicate via text (and are super responsive, too). Foresight has a pretty wide selection of designer frames, which surprised me -- I was shopping around for Tom Ford and they had over 2 dozen frames. They also pulled out some more from their back stock and offered to order any colors that they didn't carry. Last year, I was super indecisive about even getting Rx lenses in the first place because I thought I that I would wear my contacts more. They were super patient with me as I figured it out and eventually I went back to get the Rx and upgrade my sunglasses to a rose mirrored lens. THEY. MADE. IT. HAPPEN. I just went back to purchase a new pair of eyeglasses and the design on the arm wasn't lining up properly. They didn't hesitate to order me new frame. Did I mention their customer service is A++? Very friendly - extremely professional - I have had some bad experiences going to eye doctors - have had 8 eye surgeries so am very self-conscious. After coming to Dr. Hochstatter and her staff, I've over come my fear of coming to the eye Dr. - I couldn't ask for a nicer office and staff to come to. The team at Foresight is top notch! Always so very friendly and professional. I don't think I have ever had a doctor give me such a thorough exam and explanation before. I came home feeling well-educated on my eyes. Plus the doctor was super personable, positive and up-beat. Actually, the whole staff was a pleasure. I didn't have a budget to spend on new eye wear, but with the help of the friendly staff, I got a great smart looking pair of glasses that my insurance covered 100%. I never opened my wallet. I have been seeing Dr. Hochstatter for a few years now and could not imagine going to any other optometrist. She has a great "bedside manor" and a knack of making her patents feel comfortable throughout examinations. Going to the optometrist as a teen can be uncomfortable, but Dr. Hochstatter and her staff was very patient with me as I was learning how to put in contacts and picking out a new pair of glasses from the endless styles. Reception is very friendly and so is the doctor. When I make an appointment a year in advance, don't change it & the time my appointment was changed to was not convenient for me & they never got me one that worked for my schedule. My other issue, and I thank the dr. for calling & leaving us a message {after I talked to my insurance!}, was they billed be for a pair of glasses not from the current appointment but from a year back with no explanation on the bill. It was an error on the offices part as I should have had to pay $100 more the day of my appointment, but come on, explain why we were charged & why it was on the same bill as my kids! Unfortunately, we won't be returning. The dr. blamed previous staff for the error but the current staff is the one that was doing the billing. read more

He has a calm, pleasant demeanor, listened carefully, and very thoughtfully handled a complicated problem I'd been having. The office staff is warm, kind and helpful and runs the office efficiently. Take a pass on this shop. After having our kids' eyes examined at Foresight, we received a letter from the good doctor that should we miss a future appointment that we would be charged for the no-show. Nice. For a business that is supposed to be customer-oriented, this letter really turned us off. We let Foresight know that this type of letter was not well-received. Fast-forward 1 year. Our son goes away to college and needs a bridge set of contact lenses until he can get another eye exam. We contacted 1-800-CONTACTS to order a replacement set. The company had to call Foresight to confirm the prescription in order to process the order. Foresight declined to cooperate with the company - all they needed to do was verbally OK the prescription so our son could get contact lenses at school. Now, he's away from home without lenses. And, as parents, we are just astonished with how Foresight has decided to treat us. Maybe we were too sensitive to Foresight's penalty warning letter. But, for the company to take its angst out on our son by not being minimally cooperative and professional, that says a lot about them. Plenty of other choices if you need a good neighborhood optometrist. Go see Dr. Dougherty. Pass on Foresight. read more

She is so knowledgeable, has a great demeanor and is very friendly and open about all things "eyes". She explained to me what all the tests were and why they needed to be done, and also what my results meant. She is very good about making sure you are taking good care of your eyes and letting you know all preventative measures you can take. As a dentist, my eyesight is of the utmost importance to me. I have always had good optometric care over the years because I won't settle for less than the best. My first experience at Foresight Optometry blew me away. After I received my first set of glasses from Foresight, I made a point of stopping in just to tell them how much I appreciated my new eyewear. I have now been for my second check up and again am very impressed. As a professional, I can highly recommend Dr. Hochstatter. I have also, in the past, ordered a back-up set of glasses from a discount optometrist, and there is no comparison. You absolutely get what you pay for, and I, for one, feel that excellent eye care is extremely valuable. Excellence is what you will get here. They also spent a lot of time with me on style selection and that was meaningful to me and I appreciated their input. I also appreciated not needing to have my eyes dilated. My wife and I switched over to Foresight about a year ago. What struck us immediately was their professionalism. The staff is courteous, friendly and goes out of their way to make sure everything is perfect for you, the customer. Secondly, Dr. Hochstatter is amazingly good. She is at the top of her game with modern techniques, the latest equipment and her thorough knowledge in application. What really impressed me was when my wife had a medical issue that affected her vision temporarily. Foresight Optometry really came through for us. They got us in immediately, rushed modifications to her glasses that enabled her to see and moved their schedule around to accommodate us. Why does this place have such low reviews? Okay so I didn't get my eye exam here but I did buy a pair of glasses. I was a walk in and made sure I could use my insurance, the front desk ladies were super nice and got me into the system and verified my insurance. I was scheduled to come in an hour later to discuss my eyewear. I came back and the nicest lady (sorry I can't remember her name) helped me out. We went through every possible pair and ended up with a handful of choices that would work with my face frame and prescription. She then took pics with all the glasses on and I made my final choice. She went over ALL of the options of lenses and films and what my insurance covers. For those who are new to buying glasses, if you think someone offering you these films is "pushing" a sale... Your wrong. These are great additions to keeping your eyes healthy. I chose a cheaper lens that my insurance pays for and she was totally okay with that, no pushing. She did tell me it takes 14 WORKING days to get them back... Which is average for my crazy prescription. I will be back for sun glasses and my daughters eye exam. read more

First exam in 7 years, first time at this establishment. All around we literally left there with big smiles on our faces due to the GREAT experience. As we walked out the door we were actually commenting in total agreement that it was one of the best retail experiences we have ever had, The ENTIRE staff jumped right in, helped us, made us feel comfortable, never rushed or pushed into a sale. In fact, we actually made mention that we wanted to stay within our coverage and they made it happen! Dr. Hochstatter and the staff members are great, and very personable. They are also very knowledgeable about their products--but they will try to up-sell you on services and add-ons, which turn out to be pricey, unfortunately (and will gobble up your FSA funds). Once you get back home and reflect upon your purchase, you end up feeling a bit ripped off. If it wasn't for the cost and up-selling environment, I would rate Foresight higher. From a price standpoint, I certainly would echo the sentiments of Charlie C.s' review. My advice: If you are price conscious, you can shop around and get a better value. read more

I went in to see Dr. Hochstatter after moving to this area. I am very impressed! I agree with another review about getting more information about my eyes from Dr H. than I have gotten over many years of wearing contacts and glasses. The office staff is warm and very helpful. State of the art equipment, combined with Dr. Hochstatter's knowledge and experience, leads to a great outcome. First of all, the first time we went there, I felt so pressured because they seemed to want to upsell the special coatings, the special lenses, for the frames for each of my kids glasses, and on top of that, we were billed incorrectly for one of my children's frames. Fast forward a year later, and I was supposed to take them for their annual exam. Because it was right after the holidays, we missed out appointment. Entirely my fault. I called 45 minutes after we were supposed to show up for our appointment, apologized for my error and asked to reschedule. I was chastised not only by the staff, but then the doctor took it upon herself to also speak with me, and basically talked down to me like a child for taking 45 minutes out of their time. I was also told that the doctor was going to send me a no show letter and $50 charge. What way do you not get that yours is also a retail business, and you do NOT condescend your customers like that? I'm being generous with giving this place ONE star. I was told before I got the phone that they reserve the right to refuse my number should I try to come in to see them again.
