Grab the bag out of my car and began to walk towards my door for the blue to go bag handles to rip, everything fell onto the floor. my french fries spilled everywhere, but luckily my hamburger was in a closed container which was salvageable. This location is hit or miss, they seriously lack consistency. I always get a hamburger on a gluten free bun and in the past I've gotten a cold bun (since they come from the freezer), either too much sauce or barely any, and today I got barely any onions, like a few slivers, no sauce and no pickles. I couldn't go back to have it resolved and had no other option but to eat it and it was very disappointing. My boyfriend's chicken sandwich barely had any mayo and was also dry. Also I don't know what they're doing different with the fries but they don't taste the same here they are not good. I think it's better to play it safe and drive farther to the Glendale or Hollywood location for better quality. read more

That aside, the main reason for this review is the poor customer service experience I had during my most recent visit. The man at the register, who had long hair and an earring, gave off a rude and unprofessional vibe from the start. After we placed our order and sat down, he called my boyfriend back after about six minutes just to give him a receipt, which my boyfriend hadn't asked for. When my boyfriend threw the receipt away, thinking it wasn't necessary, the cashier made a visibly annoyed face, which left both of us feeling uncomfortable. In my opinion, working in a restaurant means providing good service along with good food, and rudeness shouldn't be part of the experience. It's disappointing, especially because I've enjoyed the food in the past. I hope management addresses this to improve the overall experience for future customers. read more

Best burger experience I've had yet. "Burgers Never Say Die" used to be my favorite LA burger, but not anymore. Ordered a triple cheese... Lace was plentiful and delicious. Sauce was magical, and was the perfect amount. Could've used a few more pickles, but that's my preference. And, I normally consider fries a throwaway item but today's batch was fresh and with the right amount of salt. The only complaint I have is that they don't have fountain soft drinks (they have cans). Fountain drinks compliment burgers and fries so much better. FTW is the best burger out there! read more

Great location, because apart from In n Out and The Habit, there aren't any really great burgers, and not amazing smash burgers. Big lot in a busy strip mall, ordering was smooth and the food is made fresh. The staff as were my questions and they were courteous to me. After having hassled served so many meals to start the day, they were still pushing through with excellence. The burger was phenomenal, definitely one of the best smash burgers I've had. The sweet potato fries were almost room temp by the time I ate them in my car when I stepped out. Maybe they made them a bit too early but they tasted good and the burger was so good that it didn't matter that much. For the Win has definitely had it's fair share of buzz surrounding their establishment and this new(er)location in Van Nuys was definitely serving quality. The service was prompt, and the employees on the griddle craft the burgers with great skill. The ambiance was nice. Great music selection and very clean and well kept.As for the food...The sweet potatoes came out of the fryer hot and crispy and were salted to perfection. I found myself not needing fry sauce but it definitely adds to the overall experience. The burgers are definitely tasty! The patty gets smashed and forms a nice solid crust and is the most eye catching aspect of the burger.I definitely recommend adding the jalapeños and bacon.It's for sure the way to go if you don't mind a slight kick to your bite. It was fun trying to decide where to bite from first given how much the patty hangs off the side of the bun, but every bite after that hit just as much as the first. Now in all fairness it is and can be viewed as "just a burger " but it's a DAMN GOOD burger. If you have a craving for a simple WELL CRAFTED burger this place is definitely worth a try.
