Great spot to enjoy a nice crisp beer or two. Overall a pretty cool spot with an "order at the counter" type feel. Plenty of rotating beers on taps and your domestic bottles. I came and worked from inside the place on a Saturday early afternoon. It was quiet inside, with most the activity happening on the spacious patio area. They've got a short list of no frills food options as well. I went with a burger, and it hit the spot. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way for the food, and rather treat it as a convenience here. Overall a great spot in black mountain amongst the very walkable downtown.

We haven't been here in about 2 years due to a busy schedule, although we live in Hendersonville. We've been to every establishment they've had besides the Old Fort location and newest restaurant next door. We love this business and how they've grown. We came to Black Mountain on our first day off in...a long time. Just happened to coincide with Oktoberfest! We had drinks, food, enjoyed the music and gorgeous weather. Love this place!

I was hoping for a local beer but also in the area before noon on a Friday so not a lot of options were open yet. The food looked great, and I had a local beer, but need to come back when I'm not meeting people for lunch elsewhere.

Second time visiting. Very nice outdoor seating downtown, very kid and family friendly venue but pricing is pretty high for what it is. Everything from pickles to ranch costs extra and you have to order it up front or pay separately after your food has been brought out. Drinks are pretty standard prices for Black Mountain. Come out fast and great pours. Cheerwine slushy is a must for people from out of state and want to try a fun NC drink, Josh added bourbon to his.

Carolina Burger (GF bun) w/ fries

Regarding service and ambiance, a cool inside despite open windows, and I only had to wait about 15 mins. I got the Carolina Burger (consisting of chili sauce, slaw, onion and mustard) on a GF bun with fries. The flavors of the burger worked well together, but the bun was room temp but not heated (which I understand if it was to avoid cross-contamination) and the ratio of meat to toppings was a little off, so I probably should have ordered a double patty. Fries were salted well but not very crispy. Overall, though, not a bad meal.

    Double smash burger

My expectations were surpassed! The double smash burger was fantastic. Prices were reasonable and the environment was great. Service was fast. If I'm ever in the area, I'll definitely come back.

We stopped here as we explored Downtown Black Mountain. We arrived as it began to rain lightly and began by trying our luck at opening the safe on the patio area. As we tried, the thunderstorm picked up and it began to rain much more heavily. I didn't have any luck opening the safe but enjoyed trying. The place has a cool concept. They also have an indoor area where you can sit at the bar or at one of a few tables. They have some outside covered areas. It looks like they have a food truck onsite but we did not check that out. It was raining hard so we didn't fully explore the outdoor area but did go inside and noticed the charming interior. They had cool neon signs and even had one mounted on the ceiling which felt like a cool idea. They have a small amount of swag and a large bar area for sitting and relaxing while enjoying a cold drink.

    Standard Cheeseburger and French Fries

One of the best burgers in Black Mountain--maybe THE best, once you factor in the outdoor, kid-friendly, adult-friendly, vibe that the Grange affords its patrons. I still have yet to try out the other burgers in black mountain, so I can't say that it is authoritatively the best, but it was damn good. It's a fun spot to set up shop and enjoy a burger, fries, and a beer (They have an EXTENSIVE draft list, which is always changing and offers a variety of options for folks who like to dabble). The only thing better than the burgers themselves here, is the outdoor aura that the venue provides--an oasis right int the heart of Black Mountain with good music piped in. Because it is right in downtown, you may have trouble finding a parking spot nearby, but don't let that deter you.

    Classic Lil Cheeseburger and tots

Hopping little spot in Black Mountain, NC. I just got the "Classic Lil Cheeseburger" with tots and a draft beer (Boo Jum IPA). The cheeseburger is like a big White Castle but much better. Flavor crystals! Spot on.

I waited 45 minutes for this.

Updated, second try at the Grange, same order -Carolina Burger, fries, and a beer. Within 6 minutes of ordering, my burger and fries arrived piping hot. That chili is so good hot, the slaw was on point for flavor delivery in the Carolina burger, mustard and onions as well of course. Again the tallow fries were amazing. I'm glad I came back on a less busy day because the burger was a nice experience when presented timely and proper.

Good burger and fries. Low cost location, but kind of expensive food, considering. I would go again.

We waited over an hour for food that was horrible tasting. The hot dogs were burnt and chewy and the hamburger was ridiculously greasy.

That's fine in normal cold weather, but at 22 degrees the overhead heaters just don't quite cut it. I think this part of the experience could use a little revision. My wife had pancakes with vanilla syrup and sausage. I ordered the classic breakfast with eggs, grits, sausage, and toast. Everything was very flavorful. My only complaint was that my food was lukewarm. It seemed like my food may have been finished and sat for a few minutes while my wife's pancakes were completed. On a cold morning, I would have preferred a hotter meal, the grits weren't warm enough to melt the butter, and the toast was cold, so I didn't even attempt to butter it. That said, even with the temperature issue, the food was still very tasty, and given how cold it was outside, I'm willing to let it slide. Everything arrived quickly, and the restaurant itself is very quaint, set in an old home that is very clean. On our first visit, they offered chocolate chip cookies to go, and they were excellent! They didn't have any this time, but we'll be back again to try our luck. To those about to nosh, I salute you!!

In my experience, if eggs "over easy" are cooked at too high a temp the whites become leathery. I know some people like that leathery white thing, but just not my preference. And no, the eggs being room temp didn't offset being cooked in too hot oil. The biscuit was doughy (maybe just undercooked) but I was able to eat around the edges of it and the edges were actually tasty. Sure would've liked to have had a whole biscuit tho! I know some people like to eat their biscuits at room temp, but just not my preference. I prefer them hot, I think they taste better. A hot biscuit also helps to melt the butter and at the risk of sounding like a prima donna the cold little bricks of butter I tried and failed to spread on it became a bit of a turnoff. The home fries seemed undercooked but I was able to eat a few. Nothing really special about them, just seemed like a potato chopped up and pushed around in grease. I did like the jam/jelly selection, nicely done. Some may wonder why I didn't complain or send this back. I had an appointment down the road and wouldn't have made that considering the initial order took 12 minutes from payment to plate landing on the table, so a re-do would've been??? no idea how long. Sometimes it's better to just tough it out. It wasn't busy, there was no line to order, about 6-8 patrons total in the restaurant. I was surprised at the wait, but part of that was my order getting crossed with someone else. The other guy who first got my plate shouted over to me that he didn't sneeze on my food, so that was nice.
