RESERVATION IS A MUST for the Boozy Brunch! Well, if you don't want to wait 30+ minutes, that is. Hahaha! We ended up sitting at the bar. The service was pretty good from the bar staff. They checked on us several times during our meal to make sure everything was okay. We ordered the Crab Cake Benedict and the Short Rib Hash along with their coffee. The food came out very quick... It seems the food was prepared in advance and just plated when ordered. The Crab Cake Benedict looked very good. The presentation was flawless. We dug into the poached egg on top of the crab cake. The yolk didn't run as much as we thought and hoped. However, it was good. The Crab Cake was barely warm and didn't have a crispy outside. It really didn't have much flavor at all either. It was quite disappointing. The sauce they used was quite bland and the English muffin that held the crab cakes and the poached egg on top was very chewy and didn't feel freshly toasted. I had expected so much more from this place. We asked for potatoes to be well done and crispy. They did cook it very well but it wasn't crispy at all and it was very salty. I guess the crop cake Benedict and the potatoes kind of balanced each other out, but that shouldn't be the way a dish is prepared. Both items should be tasty in itself. The short rib hash was presented quite well. The poached egg was a bit overdone as well. The short rib meats actually felt like they were actually lean meats on briskets. Flavor was good and the meat was tender. But I expected short ribs and got briskets. The sauce was good with the briskets. The potatoes... I actually expected hash browns but it was breakfast potatoes which was mixed into the sauce and was soggy. Potatoes were very salty and made the sauce salty as well. Overall, this dish was too salty for my taste. It looks like salt is the chef's favorite seasoning and they are very generous with it. We didn't make any comments about the food being too salty as we didn't want the food to go to waste. The bar staff did a good job refilling our coffee and checking to make sure our food was good. I probably won't come back because the food appears to be too salty overall for my taste. The atmosphere seems nice and they had many reserved large parties that were getting together for the Sunday brunch. Once again, make sure you make reservations!
Foothill restaurant is located in east Pasadena, very close to the 210 freeway and San Gabriel Blvd. We visited mid-afternoon and were able to park right in front on Foothill Blvd, but I believe they have a small parking lot behind the restaurant off Wenger Alley. Seating options include the main dining room, at the bar or in the bar-half of the interior, or at a table on their spacious outdoor patio, which has plenty of covering, umbrellas, and heat lamps for colder weather. You can make a reservation on OpenTable. We sat in the main dining room. The interior has a cozy feel and good vibe, with music playing in the background at a medium level. We happened to visit on Sunday which is Greek Night. In addition to the main food and drink menu, there is an additional food and cocktail menu with Greek inspired items. We decided to share the Kleo-tini (gin, basil, Kleos mastiha, olive bitters, $14) with a Greek spirit you will probably rarely see. It was a healthy pour in what seemed like a slightly oversized martini glass. It was very good, and definitely had a unique botanical/herbal flavor unlike any I've tasted before. We started out with the zucchini chips ($16) from the Greek menu. They were thin-cut, had a light breading brading on them, with a sprinkle of I believe oregano on top. It was a good portion, and we enjoyed the zatziki sauce for dipping. For my entrée, I had the lemon herb grilled chicken (marinated organic Mary's chicken, julienne vegetables, roasted potatoes, lemon beurre blanc, $30). It was a surprisingly large piece of chicken with a nice crisp on the skin, and was smothered in that great lemon butter sauce. The chicken was nice and moist. The veggies were good, and I only had a few of the potatoes because I was stuffed. She had the grilled Scottish salmon (wild caught salmon, dill mustard buerre blanc, sautéed spinach, whipped potatoes, $36). It came with a good sized piece of fish with lots of butter sauce on top. The spinach and potatoes were also good, and she enjoyed the entrée. Our server Carolyn was friendly and provided good service. We enjoyed everything here, and the menu has a wide variety of items. They have even more offerings on Greek Sunday. We would definitely return when in the area.
We arrived for an early lunch and they still had both the breakfast and lunch menus available, which was perfect! The aesthetics were really nice, and the ambiance was relaxed. No music playing in the background. They have TVs set up at the bar and out on the patio. Speaking of the patio--it's beautiful and a great spot to enjoy your meal outdoors, but we opted for the cool AC indoors. Our food came out in good timing while I happily sipped on my Bloody Mary. The food was good, the atmosphere was comfortable, and overall, it's a nice cool spot for lunch. Definitely a pleasant little lunch stop!
foothill has been on my list and I made a reservation for my friends' birthdays. I would have loved to sit inside but I had my puppy with me, so we sat at the patio area. We came on a Wednesday and it was happy hour all day! Our server was attentive. Always checking in on us periodically. I had so much fun with my friends I didn't get to take photos of all the food we had. From memory we ordered: fish and chips vegetarian tacos garlic truffle fries portobello fries charcuterie platter wings ceviche devil eggs angel hair pomodoro (no photo) My favorite dish was the portobello fries. I think we ordered another one after finishing the first plate. Love that this restaurant is kid friendly and pet friendly. Unfortunately, parking was difficult to find. I parked on the street and walked over.
This is one of those spots where you don't want something too fancy or too fast food ish. There's definitely something for everybody here whether it's steak, pasta, burgers, ceviche etc. I came here for my cousins graduation dinner and the servers were more than accommodating in helping us block out the sun when we sat outdoors! I'd definitely be back.
Beautiful evening under the stars celebrating our 30th anniversary with this incredible woman at FOOTHILL On this 30th anniversary,she still takes my breath away. Grateful for every memory we've built and excited for all the adventures still ahead of us. Raul, our server, was excellent, attentive and made the night feel extra special. We enjoyed a crisp pinot grigio alongside the shared seafood special with seasoned small potatoes and green beans. Topped it all off with apple pie à la mode the perfect ending to a memorable night with tingling feet..
I came here on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch with my partner. Our server was extremely friendly and helpful when it came to guiding us through the menu, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to expectations. I ordered the fish and chips, and honestly, they were some of the worst I've had. The fish itself was not seasoned, and the beer batter was soggy and overwhelmingly tasted like beer--as if they were relying on it to provide all the flavor. Instead of enhancing the dish, it completely overpowered it. I also tried the Wagyu burger, and it seemed like the char on the patty was meant to be the main source of flavor. The fries were okay--nothing particularly memorable. I even tried eating the fish without the batter, hoping it would improve the taste, but it still fell flat. For the price, I expected much more in terms of flavor. Visually, the dishes looked great and were very appetizing, but the taste just didn't match. The restaurant itself is beautiful--the lighting is low, the ambiance is nice, and the music is pleasant. However, I came for the food, and for me, that's the most important part. I might consider coming back to try something else, but it won't be anytime soon.
You know I've been coming to Foothill for quite sometime now, and my experiences were always good!! The bartenders and service were usually good. However, I came tonight with my sister, and it started off wrong. The valet guy was very unprofessional and disrespectful towards my sister. He let a person in front of her valet park, and then when she came after that person/car, he had told her that the valet was full. However, it was two people/cars behind her that he told them they can park and he will be right with them. He had said that it's because they are related to the owners, but I felt that was quite unreasonable to say mainly when you have people dining out to have a good experience, and spend their money. This put a bad taste in my mouth, but we still decided to stay because we love the food and we haven't been for a while. Luckily, out of all the employees the hostess was the best. Very nice and sat us down rapidly. Unfortunately, for our server, Carolyn I'll give a 2 1/2 star for her. I felt that she kept moving fast and wasn't really passionate about her job. We wanted light sauce and no cheese on one of our entrees and she basically said that it's best to order something else since the chef couldn't do it. She took the plate back, and my sister decide to get devil eggs. They were delicious though, I Just felt she wasn't accommodating at all. Even when we ordered the lava cake and on the menu it didn't mention that it had caramel on it, we don't eat caramel at all and it did not mention on menu, and she simply said all the ingredients are not on the menu all the time. So what made this annoying is that we asked her about and what was on the lava cake and she said it was just a plain lava cake. Hmmm just felt that she was very dry and nonchalant and did not care. Made me feel uncomfortable to tell her about the food. Shouldn't feel that way as a patron. I ordered the lemon herb chicken w/ sautéed spinach and roasted potatoes. It was great and tasted delicious!! Happy of my choice! For my drink I had Prosecco and a lemon drop, that was very tasty. Will try that again the bartender was on point. The ambiance was perfect they have a nice seating outside with tv, and nice indoor seating. The bar has a tv and a good hang out spot. They have brunch on the weekends that looks delicious so I would want to try again, but after today I'm not sure because of the service from valet and our server. I really love Foothill!! The food I got was the lox avocado toast. The toast was crunchy NOT soggy, scottish salmon was not fishy at all, and the blend of seasonings, micro greens, and garnishing blended all the flavors wonderfully. I also got their vanilla iced latte with oatmilk. The coffee was okay, probably not their specialty. It was a bit watered down and there wasn't a strong coffee flavor. The service was great. I made reservations the day before and they were very accommodating when I needed to change the time. One of our girlies was running a little late but they still sat us at our table and started taking our orders! Very friendly and personable staff The outside seating area is perfect for a brunch day. I wish we were able to sit outside but it was really windy the day I went. Inside is a little dark but each table was spacious enough for large group seating.
The restaurant has a small parking lot in the back or street parking. They have an outdoor patio and indoor seating both with good ambience and vibes. We sat in the patio and nicely shaded with alot of umbrellas and cute decor with lots of greenery. We tried the og waffle, chicken chilaquiles and short rib quesadilla - all delicious. Staff was very attentive and super friendly.
Came here for Mother's Day brunch and the ambiance was pleasant. We sat outside on the patio and the weather was perfect. Our food took about an hour to come out and when we received it, there was a mix up on our ribeye steak and one was cooked medium when we requested medium rare. The cobb salad, lox avocado toast and short rib hash was tasty! The steak and burrito was okay, My son also did not like his burger. This is my 2nd time here and I honestly do not see what's so special about this place and probably wouldn't come back since food is okay and there's limited parking.
Came here for a late night dinner and stayed til closing. Good place for a meal or to get some appetizers and drinks. Good ambiance. Outdoor dining had overhead cover, string lights, and outdoor standing heaters. It was a cold night and staff made sure to position the heater close to us for comfort. Place was clean. Small and large tables available. Saw they were able to seat a party of 8-10 people together. We got the Fish & Chips and Beef Stroganoff. Fish wasn't as crispy as I'd like but I still enjoyed. Generous amount of fries. Big portions overall for the price. Good and friendly service. Staff regularly checked on our table. Good place for a date. read more

Came here for Sunday brunch with a group of friends. While the service was good, unfortunately their food was honestly just okay. My boyfriend and I got the Cobb salad and chilaquiles, and my friends ordered the prime rib dip, burrito, crab cake benedict, and french toast. My salad was pretty mediocre - lettuce didn't taste very fresh and the chicken was kind of tough. Chilaquiles was not bad. Burrito was just ok too. The eggs in my friend's benedict was overcooked - egg yolk wasn't runny and it was more like a hard poached egg. She told our server and he had the kitchen remake the egg. Overall, I would say the food here was quite underwhelming and not really sure if I'd be returning. read more
Best portabella fries in Pasadena (that I have had so far), good fish tacos, and excellent margaritas. I typically sit outside, they have a large outdoor seating area and the wifi reaches. The food was good. I had the steak frites and my bf had the steak salad. Both meats were tender and good. My ribeye was a bit thin for a ribeye but it wasn't bad. The fries were my favorite. We shared the hummus and I recommend. I normally wouldn't order hummus but have no regrets. read more
This restaurant has a great outdoor dining patio to be COVID safe! I called the restaurant a few days before to make a reservation for Sunday brunch. The hostess was very nice to inform me that they had a brunch party from 11am-1pm, so 1:30pm would be the soonest that we could make a reservation for their outdoor patio, unless we were comfortable with being seated inside. We made reservations for 1:30pm and it was quite busy outside. The waiters were all wearing masks and each table was very far apart from each other (definitely more than the 6ft feet). The day we went, it was pretty sunny but they had plenty of umbrellas big enough to cover our table and all 3 of us. I ordered the blackberry vodka cocktail on their menu, it was very refreshing! We also ordered to split amongst our table, the short rib hash and the french toast. The short rib hash is a must order item! The flavor was just right for both the potatoes and the short rib. I definitely want to come back to try more of their savory dishes soon. read more

Wanted to celebrate the new year with brunch, so my best friend and I decided to check it out . In honor of the holiday we started off with two espresso martinis and we were so happy they were one of the most delicious martinis we have ever had. As best friends usually do we picked a few plates to share. I chose the chilaquiles of course ! Whenever I see chilaquiles on a menu it's an automatic for me . She chose the crab cake Benedict. Which she also commented that it was the most beautiful poached egg she ever saw! We also shared the chocolate chip pancakes . ( girl brunch !) everything was delicious and fresh . I've been here several times now and my experience remains the same: nice, attentive service but average food, bland presention and awful coffee. I love Eggs Benedict but they consistently overcook the eggs. So we're left with calling our server over and having them redo the eggs. Eggs Benedict are made with poached eggs, meaning they're supposed to be really runny when you cut into them. However, when you order them at foothill, they're almost hard boiled, so the whites are hard and yolks are half-solid. Not even a drop of yolk came out when I cut into it. Both times when we told the servers about the eggs, they got all flustered about it and they tried to take the whole plate. We had to explain that all we needed were new eggs that weren't overcooked. It wasn't necessary to make a brand new dish. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this place. read more

I always drive by this place and it has been in my bookmarks for awhile. This type of restaurant would fit perfectly in the old town Pasadena vibe but it's nowhere near there- which might be a blessing because we were able to be seated right away. We got the beef stroganoff, kurobota pork chop, a peach iced tea, and a royal Hawaiian. The beef stroganoff was awesome! The noodles were al dente and the short rib was soft and delicious. The mushrooms gave it a nice added texture. There was 2 slices to bread to soak up the remaining sauce. I say the beef stroganoff is a must when visiting this place. However, I was not a fan of the pork chop. It was cooked nice and juicy but I felt like it lacked flavor and would not order it again. The peach iced tea was great and you don't even need it sweetened because the peach flavor already provides a hint of sweetness. The royal Hawaiian tastes exactly like a key lime pie. Drinks were def on the pricey side but I just wanted to enjoy my night out and opted for a drink. Service was great and there is plenty of outdoor seating available along with heaters. You can even bring your dog here to dine out! I wonder if they still have happy hour because I would love to come back to try their smaller plates. read more

So yum! I don't know how I've never known about this place. I went with a couple of my girlfriends that I haven't seen in a while for brunch. The mimosas are so delicious and the food is very tasty. Even though they were busy when we went we didn't have to wait long for a table. The waiters were nice and the vibe was great. The outdoor seating/patio is amazing. They have umbrellas, they have short tables, high tables, tables for large groups, small, the versatility is amazing. On a sunny day, this spot is cute to be at. The host were prompt in sitting us, although we did make a reservation, but at the time we went, it wasn't too busy. Masks were also worn. We started off our order by getting coffees and a round of French 75's (mimosa with bourbon). Time had passed and we had only received 1 of the 2 coffees. And all the French 75's. Seeing as the second coffee hadn't arrived we figured it worked out since we already had our alcoholic drinks. Minutes passed and it wasn't until one of the coffees was already done, and after we ordered our second round of French 75's that they realized the second coffee wasn't brought out. When the second order of drinks came out, so did the coffee, which at that point was no longer needed. I ordered the crab cake benedict. It was ok. The OG Waffle was nothing too special. The Prime Rib Dip was def the highlight of brunch. So much so, that I didn't take a photo as I devoured that beast. The bread used was delicious and fresh, the dipping sauce was the perfect combination for the sandwich. It came with onion rings which were also the right amount of crisp. Of all the dishes, this was the most flavorful whereas the rest were just bland. All in all, if I were to be invited I would go back and give another dish a try. Aesthetically the dishes are beautiful, just wish it was more flavorful. Pro tip: they have parking in the back, so no need to worry about parking. Bring your sunnies if you sit outside. I ate here last night, and we had a nice time. Here are the ups and downs of the evening: Ups: Gorgeous patio; Really nice waitstaff; Delicious steak salad; Delicious steak frites (my hubby gave me bites); Scrumptious Foothill Fire cocktail; Great live acoustic guitarist. Downs: Poor under-utilization of heat lamps (so many were off and also not placed wisely; people were freezing); Too much ice in my cocktail. No need to choke the whole glass; Took way too long for soup to come out; Poor timing with serving soup and starter (calamari). They were served at the same time, when soup should have come out first. Server even said, "Is this okay?" so they knew they messed up the timing; The kale in the soup really needed to be chopped. It was in huge strands and very hard to eat in soup; Somewhat slow service. Overall, I enjoyed the night. Not sure I found it to be worth $100 all in after tax and tip. Would have liked for there not to have been so many downs. But it was still a nice evening, and the main dishes were superb. read more
Came here on a Saturday for brunch around 12:3PM. I made reservations two nights before and was glad to be seated immediately when I arrived! It wasnt super busy and the tables were spaced out nicely. They made their parking lot a nice outdoor dining area and had heat lamps outside for chilly days. Staff was friendly and ordering was quick as well as the food coming out. The drinks were a bit pricey but cute. Not super strong either. Food was good. I got the short ribs and they were niceeee. The meat was very tender and the vegetables were cooked perfectly imo. Definitely a lot of food for an $18 plate and i enjoyed it even more as leftovers the next day. Tried my friends waffle and it was good. The fried chicken was meh for me. Overall the atmosphere was nice and the food was good. Its a great place for a casual brunch! read more

I come craving their steak frites which comes with caramelized onions and bone marrow butter that pile on the savory goodness of the steak. Fries are also delicious. Food was decent for a brunch. The chilaquiles were a little soggy and the quesadilla was very burnt which was kind of disappointing. The service was also decent (15%). The server was attentive at the start, but then never came back to the table so getting the check took awhile. Also, the server kept speaking to us in Spanish even though we didn't know Spanish, so that was a little confusing. Overall, decent place with a nice outdoor patio/ambiance, but it can get a little warm in the sun. read more

Foothills setup is awesome! They have the whole parking lot reserved for outdoor dining! Pretty good happy hour deal! A lot less expensive than the regular price. Cocktails- I got the south side and it was perfect for a sunny day! Not too sweet Beer - refreshing IPA, also a good summer treat! Portabella fries are a must get IMO. Love the crunch of the batter with the soft mushroom combo. Both the short rib tacos and the fried fish tacos are great and filling enough for a meal. I may have preferred the short ribs in a slider form, though! So I may change the order for my next visit to the sliders instead. Minus one star because our server never had his mask over his nose which made us uncomfortable. Don't really see any excuse for that. read more

I booked this place to celebrate my dad's belated 76th birthday, an early Mother's Day for my mom, and my sisters' new job. We were all very excited to dine here. The outdoor seating area is open and spacious with tables properly spaced apart. However, we had a busser, who at the very beginning, refused to wipe down a section of our table when my sister said it was sticky. He actually had the nerve to argue with us and claimed the sticky part was caused by sanitizer. When we said it was definitely not sanitizer, he continued to say that it was. What it felt like was dried soda, which left a very sticky residue. He just kept arguing with us while holding a wet towel in his hand. We then made him touch it, and it was only THEN that he wiped down the table. He didn't even apologize!! So weird!! We ordered the calamari, braised short rib sliders, portabella fries, steak frites, and the Chilean sea bass special. The calamari and portabella fries were great. However, the short rib sliders were dry (we asked for more bbq sauce), the steak was overcooked and hard, and the asparagus that came with the sea bass was discolored and tasteless. So as great as the menu sounded, food was mediocre at best. Brian, our server, was nice but service was extremely slow. We waited 30 min between the time we finished our appetizers and received our entrees. And he never did come by to ask how everything was or if we needed anything else. We had to wave him down a few times, including asking for steak knives! And it wasn't even that busy for a Tuesday night at 7 PM. I can't imagine service during a weekend! With SO many restaurants to choose from, this place was rather disappointing. read more

My goodness, where do I begin. This place was nothing short of AWESOME! 1st. This place had a very cute atmosphere and is very very fun. The music they have playing isn't to loud and it's very fun. They did a very good job with the outside decor (I haven't seen the inside) 2. The service was very good, it didn't take us long to get seated but I assume we showed up at a great time because they said it was gonna be 30 min and we got seated in about 10-15. Is there parking?
There is a very small parking lot through the back alley and there is street parking. Can be pretty hard to find parking near by the business on a busy day.

Yes! However we do charge a dessert fee of $2.50 per guest for any outside desserts.

Do you guys have bottomless mimosas?
In my experience the answer is no. But they sell their mimosas by the glass or carafe.

Is this restaurant affiliated with Twohey's?
Yes. Same owner(s), but they changed the name from Twohey's Tavern because people kept coming in looking for the same type establishment as the original Twoheys. The Foothill is more upscale.
What is the parking situation?
We have some parking in the lot, and there is street parking.
Trying to avoid heavy crowds during the pandemic, what's a good time to go on a weekend when it's less crowded?
I went in as a party of four on a Sunday about 9 o; clock. It was not crowded at all at that time...
Do they offer bottomless mimosa brunch?
We offer carafes of mimosas at brunch. Thank you.
If we do take out, can we also order cocktails to-go?
I am not sure about takeout cocktails. We have ordered take out from them several times and everything was very good but we did not order cocktails. You might call them and ask.
Hi! Do you serve your regular cocktail menu during brunch hours, or do you only offer mimosas and bloody Marys during brunch?

Are there vegan options?
Good afternoon! Yes. We have a vegetable medley plate that's amazing and vegan. We can also do veggie tacos that are delicious, and we're happy to make adjustments to any dish to meet your dietary needs. Thank you!
