I have receips and pictures proving them not giving me honest & proper credits. What is happening with that money? They both charge me full price for discounted sale items. These two have literally nickle and dimed me to death over the last few months. .49 cents here $3.00 there. I would report them to the manager (no name tag) however he is consistently rude to me. Food Maxx is useless. No check stands open but one and the self service wouldn't allow me to have cherries unless I download the app. It wouldn't scan grapefruit and no one to help. They are literally shopping cart Nazis. I've been accosted trying to get into this place before 10 o'clock cause I know they close at 10 o'clock. I work late and I can't get there till like 945. So I set up to get inside and shop real quick and last time I got inside I got a costate by trying to grab a shopping cart before 10 PM. I'm grabbing it around 945. I know exactly what time it is and someone's tell me is only 10 minutes till they close so they're bouncing at five minutes forward and just tonight it happened again so I just walked away last time. I was able to get what I needed and got out of the store with three minutes to close while there were other shoppers still in the store. These people are so concerned about closing the store exactly when the corporation tells them to that they can't even consider that a lot of people depend on getting in there before 10 o'clock. So I don't know what to say, but this is screwed up. read more

I was on check out machine, the alarm sound for assistance, while on other stand helping customer, MOLLY turns around enter her PW in 30 second. Few minute after, alarm sound problem again while I checked out, again she turn around and help me wit big smile and comfort me "don't worry, you will be fine" hahah I couldn't ask for more, MOLLY did do multiple job at the time. After being totally baffled by the lack of pricing and stickers under items saying it wasn't available while it was, I finally found most of what I was looking for. I head to the front and there is only one register open and a long line. Okay. I'm going to self checkout as I'd rather not be in close proximity with the unmasked cashier. Almost immediately one item isn't scanning and the self checkout machine pages someone. Minutes later after working our way through the basket it says there's something wrong with items on the side. Okay. Waiting for someone while locked out of adding more items. 3 minutes after the second time the machine paged, we left. What a colossal waste of my time. Double check expiration dates! I recently bought cottage cheese. Opened it up and could tell it was old. Looked at date on bottom of container and it was expired before the date I bought it! Not happy wasting money as I don't go out shopping or to that store that often so I had to toss it out and of course lose money. It's a decent store. The aisles could have better flow to them. Also could have the option for a hand cart instead of just a large cart to push around the store for just a couple items. The lines can get extremely long on Popular days: Fridays Saturdays or Game Day Sundays. Good prices on meat. They have half gallon things of creamer fairly cheap. A bit odd to have to walk all the way around the Produce and meat sections before you get the option of the other aisles. read more

I've been going to FoodMaxx for years but have been extremely frustrated the last few times I have shopped there. The price of food is ridiculous everywhere but they are still less expensive than most. my main complaint, and I don't post negative feedback often, is they have one cashier open. Out of probably 12-14. Of course they are pushing the Self Checkout which I don't do. (I had alcohol in my cart and I don't work there) so one checkout open and 11 carts in the line. I worked all day and I don't want to stand in line all night. Finally after 20 minutes I'm getting close to the front and an upset employee comes and grabs my cart and opens a second line. She seemed very upset she had to ring me up and she wasn't hiding it. I think she bruised my bananas. Very unprofessional. I think it would be worth it to go elsewhere and an extra dollar on milk. read more

We have been shopping there for months. We just cooked breakfast using Jimmy Dean Sage sausage that we purchase frequently. We both had to spit it out and throw away our entire breakfast because of the horrible taste of the sausage. Checking the expiration date it had expired over THREE months ago! We bought it yesterday! Normally we check the dates but, due my wife's illness, we used Instacart and had falsely assumed the shopper checks the dates. Not so! Beware, they do not seem to manage expired products well. My shopping cart was kinda nasty.... didn't notice a dirty paper towel in it till I was in the store. The store has a warehouse feel, but overall it's clean. I got locally made tortillas, Pico Pica hot sauce, a kimchi Ramen noodle bowl... and I was impressed with the Indian food section. They carry some sort of candied paneer (cheese), along with various spice blends and ghee. I wasn't so impressed with the paper products. There are some necessities where Dollar Tree is the better deal. They had persimmons that were in good shape. It comes across as a friendly but sketchy place. Then again, Rohnert Park is a sketchy place. If most college/university towns are "town and gown",Rohnert Park is "town and casino." The aisles were kind of cramped, the driving in the parking lot questionable, but overall the people were nice, I was able to stay in budget, and the cashier, Dylan, was great. read more

I used to shop here but it was impossible to find people to help me when I needed. They are a good sized store but I found I had to go elsewhere for things they didnt have. Plus with the addition of competitors like 99 cent store, I could get things for less elsewhere so I haven't been here in awhile. That said, their products are fresh. I've never come home with bad milk or bread like I have with other places. Their coupons are really good deals too. read more

This is the grocery store you see in sugar documentaries. Sugar in every life form. I'm not a health nut so the fact that they illuminate the candy bars at the checkout aisle with tiny LED lights like Christmas, isn't a viable reason for me to only give them 2 Stars. It's more just because like many other grocery stores, there is no method to the madness. It's entirely a disarray of miscellaneous items through several aisles. Today I walked up and down every aisle twice looking for apple cider vinegar. I never did find it but I did notice the sunflower seeds in a very peculiar place. I asked the woman pushing the broom around a grocery store if she knew where it was. She sent me to the juice because she imagined just apple cider I suppose. But she added she really wasn't sure and that it was her first week working there. I'm not a customer service expert but normally you would expect the worker to either know where an item is located or find another worker who does to help you out. Instead I made my second pass through the store slowly breaking a sweat of stress and anti social anxiety. After I gave up on my search for apple cider vinegar, I headed over to the checkout lane. This is where you can expect to jump in line behind several trailer park folks with their baskets filled to the brim with different sugar products slowly bagging each item on their own. You can also look forward to leaving your credit card inserted into the machine several feet from where you must start bagging your groceries on your own. I think for now on I'm going to head over to Safeway and pay a little bit more to have a union employee kindly guide me to the apple cider vinegar and bag my groceries as I check out. read more

I like the Santa Rosa store better, because they have an inhouse bakery, but you really can't go wrong with this place, they have a TON of speciality food (from indian to asian to mexican) that you don't see in most other stores. And it's cheap. My go to item here is the mexican popsicles. $4 for a 12 pack of them and they are awesome. The produce is good, if you are going to consume it right away. Ok selection of basic cheese and meat prices are VERY VERY good. The seafood isn't always the freshest... Clean, friendly and always busy, but well staffed and lines move quickly. read more

Love this store. Great deals, all the time. And they always have some especially phenomenal produce deals. Like a previous reviewer said, they're probably not for you if you're looking for anything outside of the ordinary. You won't find organic anything (other than milk!), or fair-trade chocolate, or good hummus (trust me, don't buy the hummus they have. It's terrible.). I love all those things - but I come to Food Maxx for the friendly people and great prices on my basics, and go elsewhere for my chocolate or if I really want to buy organic. However, I hear they really respond to feedback, so if you ask the manager to carry products you want, they'll try to do it. Haven't tried talking to the manager myself, but maybe I should start! This supermarket it is great if you are trying to spend less money. It's not as nice organized as Safeway but the prices are much more better. You will find everything you need although they don't have organic products. so if you are looking so you should go to Safeway or Oliver's. They are open 24 hours. read more

I'm not sure why 75% of the customer base here consists of adults who have no concept of spatial awareness or courtesy, and kids who are completely the f- out of control. Also not sure what they have against handbaskets and why I have to push some clunky extra-wide monster of a shopping cart through the narrow aisles when I just want to pick up 8 or 9 things. It's not a bad discount grocery for your basics and staples, though. As the first reviewer mentioned, they cater more to a Latin/Asian working-class market so they've got a range of stuff the other discount places don't have. And their produce ranges from edible to decent, which is better than Grocery Outlet. Prices in general are also often lower than the nextdoor Target. read more

This is a good store, and one of my favorite's for meats. They have great sale items, and carry items that others don't or no longer do. My complaints are the workers will ring so fast, and be on the 3rd order before you can finish bagging. Some will actually help, while others act like you are not moving quick enough. I understand that is why they have 2 belts divided, but don't start a 3rd when the other 2 are bagging, or here is a suggestion, actually help if your annoyed with customers not moving fast enough. For the most part I usually get nice cashier's and don't have this problem often but enough to bring it up. read more

Surprising selection in a discount grocery store. Did you know they carry tomatillos, goat milk, masoor dal, and some organic produce? Their stock varies but they're really good about offering to special order when something is not available. The management are good neighbors, responsive to the needs of the neighborhood. I'm giving 4 stars now but I'll add the 5th star when I see more organic produce there. With lots of organic produce, I wouldn't need to shop anywhere else. Good job, Food Maxx. read more

I was recently wounded in a car accident. I went in here go do normal shopping and I had to bring my cane in. I also had to use the ride on cart. After going to the self checkout isle the staff working there saw that i was struggling and i had asked for a bag i had paid for and all they did was give me additude and ignore me. On a recent trip to FoodMaxx I purchased a package of cream cheese that I discovered later to have gone south. Not pretty. I wasn't as concerned with getting my $2 back as I was for the store to acknowledge the issue and take steps to remedy it. I contacted SaveMart heaquarters, who contacted the Rohnert Park store. Shortly afterward I received a phone call from the local store from a very nice woman who thanked me for alerting them to the problem. She told me that they had tested the packages and found several to have the same problem. They are looking into their equipment and refrigeration techniques. I was impressed with the entire process. I've had similar experiences with less satisfactory responses in higher-end stores. This earns FoodMaxx an extra star in my book. read more
