We love you Mary See

My wife and I went to California for a visit and along with seeing the grandchildren is always a visit to See's Candies. The latter may have a higher rank on the scale for my wife. This shop was located a short distance from the hotel we were staying at in Rohnert Park. They are in a shopping center along with a Walmart Grocery and Starbucks. Easy in and out off the main road and plenty of parking. Everything here, [even the pieces I don't eat regularly]are amazing-delicious. The service here is over-the-top. The store is so well organized, clean, bright and just so inviting. One thing for sure is the team here is wonderful. The person assisting us allowed us to try a few items that we ultimately bought mountains of. Everything is just perfect with ample chocolate covering the chewy or crunchy centers. I always say that it's a good thing that I don't have a See's Candies too close, we would wind making a home here. I wanted to bring back something unique for our friends (neighbors) and See's was the perfect choice. If you've eaten See's before, you'll agree with everything I am saying. If not, find one and visit. Plane, Train or automobile...get here.... Eat some delicious!

They have the chocolate, peanut-butter hearts you will not be disappointed they are bomb Hope you're enjoying Valentine's Day

This is a new See's Candy store here in Rohnert Park and today I'm here for my dark Chocolate peanut butter hearts oh yeah umm my favorite and well to be honest I do love so many others chocolates here as well, ok I love most of it lol I have mentioned before I am a tried and true chocoholic! And I say there's chocolate love is in the air tonight. Every time I come here I am always greeted with a big smile and a warm hello. And they always remember to give me some extras in my bag and I must say I do very much appreciate the extra chocolate helloooo how ya gonna hate! I almost always get a discount card for a upcoming holiday and I very much appreciate that as well. They also have peanut brittle it is the absolute best peanut brittle I've ever had. It is absolutely addicting crispy but not hard and it is so tasty you will suffer trying not to eat it all, that's a fact my friends. Cheers to ALL and see you on Yelp Review #313 05/31/23

I was skeptical because gluten free products usually contain a ton of ingredients that you can't pronounce. I opened the package, took one bite and it was over for me. My mind was blown to pieces with the peanut butter goodness. I immediately ordered more and waited for them to be delivered. A week later I followed up because they still hadn't come, Lila responded to me way after business house telling me that they were marked as delivered - she felt terrible and would get us more cookies asap. Turned out that SOMEONE HAD STOLEN OUR COOKIES!!! I felt compelled to tell her that I had just gotten married and didn't have 1 problem with our registry stuff but when someone saw baked goods from Lilajay's they couldnt contain themselves and nabbed them. Needless to say, we received a new box of cookies with all sorts of extras and a really nice handwritten note congratulating us on our recent nuptials. I will continue to spread the word on how delicious the cookies are, and how wonderful the customer experience was. Thank you so much Lila!!! Oh and... the Peanut Butter O reallyz are pretty much the best thing I've ever had in my life.

BREAD. It has quite a long history. It's a staple and tradition to many and a complete nightmare to…read moreothers. People associate bread with all sorts of negative views but that does not surprise me considering the processed products being identified as "bread" and considered "food"... Nutrition/ingredients labels these days even outsmart science geeks (yay for geeks, nay for nasty nutrition-less "food") due to their crazy complicated chemical components and constipation conclusions. I had given up hope and all I could think was... What greater joy is there than breaking warm bread at the table or sinking your carb craving choppers into a fresh made savory simple sandwich with toasted bread and smashed avocado? These are simple pleasures I have missed so much but now I no longer have to. My faith in bread has been renewed. I have found REAL BREAD made with LOVE and INTEGRITY. I have found Grindstone Bakery! Grindstone offers a FULL line of fresh, local, organic wholesome breads (and some cookie treats too) made with real ingredients and baked back to the roots of ancient bread making. Wonder Bread is left to wonder. Home Pride has lost it's pride. Sara Lee has gone stale. No one can compete or compare with Grindstone. They are, by far, the best breads you will ever find in a store. They also offer a revolutionary line of gluten free breads which is what drew me to them. They met my standards and have my full approval *smile* Gluten free? Check! Vegan? Check! Yeast Free? Check! Nutritionally dense? Check! Fiber rich? Check! All natural quality ingredients? Check! Organic? Check! Fresh and local? Check! No nasty stuff added? Check! Tasty? CHECK!!! The ones I have tried are reminiscent of of sourdough but once toasted are transformed into a medley of hearty and nutty, slightly sweet and a bit of sassy sour. The flavors are neutral enough to collaborate with most meals - breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack attack - you name it. I also have to add how amazing the owner is. We played email tag for a few weeks while I asked a ton of questions (that all got answered quick and professionally) and got help locating specific loaves I was looking for. Then comes the bonus points because little do people like those at Grindstone know but they are a blessing to my eating disorder recovery. Back in my severe anorexic days I would not go NEAR bread let alone even say the word out loud! In my severe bulimia days it was it double dog downing the bakery aisle during bogus bread binges. Now I can healthily and HAPPILY enjoy bread as it nourishes me in ways I never knew it could. Grindstone uses foods that heal not harm. Nutrition and health are no longer compromised. Healing foods - real foods - can do this for you too. Grindstone is my new found bread love! I am rejoicing in my recovery! Thank you Grindstone! Check out their website for product info, store locator or online ordering and if you have questions do not be afraid to ask. You will get a very friendly response for sure! If you are on the Peninsula you can find a great selection at Country Sun or most Whole Foods... And please, before you say NO to bread - give Grindstone a try... you may never want to say NO again ;)

I was a devoted customer of the original Grindstone bread, but since the bakery changed hands…read morethings are not the same. I placed an order last week, it arrived on time which was appreciated but the bread itself is dry and crumbly and without flavor. Not even close to the Grindstone bread of yore. They no longer offer 100% quinoa bread, so I ordered banana walnut bread and three grain bread. The banana walnut bread contains such a small amount of banana that I literally couldn't taste it. The three grain bread was flavorless and it crumbled and fell apart as I was trying to slice it. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but this was a lot of money for me and I don't want anyone else to order this bread thinking they're getting the same wonderful Grindstone product as they got under the original ownership.

Turns out other friends have it on their wishlist as well, so I'm glad for making the stop. The brewery is a quick drive off the highway, in an commercial park area with lots of big shade trees and green lawns. The brewery is beautifully landscaped with big trees, flowers, potted plants, and an outdoor drinking area with umbrella tables which also have warmers for those cooler evenings. On the day of our visit, it was extra hot in the afternoon so we went inside. It has a clean and comfy vibe, with high ceilings, cozy lighting, a clear tap list, and nice tables of different sizes around the bar. At the back is a merchandise area and restrooms. I love their owl theme, great designs and fun items. The beers were also excellent, I tried a few IPAs mostly sticking with favorite hops and one collab that sounded great. The bartender on our visit wasn't friendly or welcoming at all, and was that way with just about everyone else there. Oh well. I still highly recommend checking this place out for the quality of the beer and a great venue to enjoy it in.
