    $6.99 breakfast special
    Irene H.

There aren't a lot of HK style cafes in downtown Toronto so while I was in Markham I wanted to try this one I saw in Pacific Mall. For $6.99 you get toast, 2 eggs, a piece of ham, and a small drink. The lemon tea did not have much flavour, it tasted like a reused tea bag with a reused lemon slice. The white of the egg was too undercooked so it was like mucous (this could be a me problem tho, I should have asked for over easy instead of sunny side up) food tasted standard but it wasn't as good as the place in First Markham Place. Tasted my friends spaghetti bolognese and it too didn't have much flavour.

A standard go to when you want something quick! The fries were nice and crispy, meat to bun ratio was a bit off. But the pineapple bun was fluffy yet crispy at the same time.

Good 3.5 stars Located inside Pacific Mall on the 2nd floor smaller food court. This place serves up traditional HK snacks with the necessary beverages (HK Tea) and a long list of snacks (Pineapple Butter, Curry fish balls, club sandwich etc). There is a small sitting area out front to rest your tired feet and indulge with some nostalgic treats that hit the spot!

    Egg waffle

Ate it too fast. Very good. The baked tomato sauce on chicken and rice was perfect for me. The sauce is less sweet then what I eat elsewhere which I much prefer it this was. Milk tea is also great. Been a while since I had a nice milk tea. Their egg waffle is also crispy on the outside and soft inside which is something that is also a first for me. Really good. Coming back again for sure.

Fast food joint upstairs of Pacific Mall . We ordered the Hainan Chinese rice, HK baked pork chop on rice and a cold Hk milk tea. The sign said they have the best milk tea in Toronto so had to try because a lot of places seem to say that although to be fair they won a competition in 2016 for their milk tea. The method they make their tea is actually done well and tasted nice but best is always subjective and based on preference. The Hainan chicken advertised as a chicken leg cut was not what I ended up with a bit disappointing for value. Chicken was tender but over cooked, impressed how it's not dry lol. The baked pork chop was also mediocre, can get it better at hk cafes including price point. All in all I wouldn't say its value for what I paid for food tasted decent for the most part and the service was good. The staff remembered we didn't get served the bubble waffle and also brought out our food to the table we were sitting at. The bubble waffle was amazing better than others in the other food court. The food court area for eating is a bit packed but doesn't change the experience of whether the food was good or not.

My friend recommended a egg waffle shop inside Pacific Mall but I ended up here instead, lured in by the promise of Hong Kong milk tea. The shopfront showed some awards and accolades for the tea, so I had some high expectations for this tea. Cash only - we made the mistake when trying to buy a hot milk tea and not having enough cash of enraging the lady at the register. She was annoyed and not having it. We asked if we could downsize to a smaller cup maybe and she begrudgingly did so. She may have been more willing since we spoke to in Mandarin. Maybe she's nicest to Cantonese speakers. I came back later with some cash in hand for an iced milk tea. The Hong Kong milk tea is tasty, not a fan of the ice she uses in the drink, though. However, because of that, it is a very home-Style beverage, in a cup without any logo or branding. Yes. This is Asia in a cup. Next time, I need to try the Hong Kong milk tea with coffee so I can get that caffeine jolt I crave from time to time.

    Jennifer K.

2016 North America Champion for Hong Kong Milk Tea Competition The quality of their Milk Tea is good. The level of creaminess and sweetness can be requested I usually like mine less sweet and more milk if you want the smoother mouth feel. We also try the Curry Fish Balls and Beef Balls ($4 for 2 or $2.50 each) which was so so. I would skip that and just enjoy my Milk Tea.

    Angelo B.

The milk tea is good, although I prefer the milk tea at Marathon. I'd say that this tea is stronger, but it's a lot less sweet. It's a little more expensive too. Located in the 2nd floor of pacific mall in a section that has a handful of food court stores

XL $5.62 iced milk tea - felt like I got scammed
    Nancy H.

Mandatory L or XL size for iced milk tea. XL if you have no idea what you're doing. $5.62 for an XL including tax. Speculation: All the cups actually hold about the same amount but look squat or tall to confuse the consumer just like how fast food places do it. That's why they charge you an XL so they make that $$$. Someone who wants to test let me know how it goes. Also, let me know if they let you buy a small iced milk tea rather than force you buy big. Creamy, not too sweet, milk tea that's easy to drink. Overpriced milk tea served by someone with a stinky attitude.

    Jen C.

Their award winning status is no lie! This is the best hk style milk tea I ever had. The texture is so smooth and creamy. You get the full bodied flavor that hk milk tea is known for. If I am ever back in Toronto I would come back here again just to get their hk milk tea. I took one star away because you can only order a large but they don't really fill up the drink all the way. Also, my friends order tasted different than mine. Hers had more tea flavor but mine was more balanced. It should've been consistent each time and balanced.

Small HK milk tea ($3 with tax) :)!! Must try !
    Brenda Y.

We came here to try their HK milk tea!! LOVE the milk tea - strong tea taste . I usually order my milk tea less milk but to me... it was perfect ! Will definitely come back!!! :) They also specialized in their milk which only branded to them. I find that pretty cool ! The only thing I wished they provided - a cup sleeve for our drink. The drink was super duper hot and we had difficulty holding our drink. :( maybe we should've asked for double cup ?

Dirtiest look i have ever received in my life. Horrible service!
    Ricky Boby L.

Absolutely the worst service i have gotten the past year or maybe in my life. Ordered a cold milk tea, didn't know it was more expensive than the hot one. i asked if i could switch it to a hot one,and she refused. I understand that it was my fault not looking at the menu properly, but she gave me attitude afterwards and didn't even say thank you after i paid. I returned to the booth to grab a pair of chop sticks because i had some food to eat. She gave me the dirtiest look ever, and even after i left she kept starring at me. Will never go back to this place and i don't care how the food or drink taste like, you don't serve people like that.

For me, the drink itself is about 4/5 (barley milk tea), but my overall experience is what brings this up to a 5. When I walked in, I was greeted with the staff there who were very friendly. I wasn't sure what I wanted, so I had stepped aside to look at the menu. They noticed and didn't pressure me in taking my order, but instead asked if I had any questions and had let me smell the tea leaves. For a more upscale bubble tea store, I appreciated that very much. I ended up getting the barley milk tea, and the flavour did not disappoint. The barley taste definitely came through, and it wasn't too sweet. Note: for sweetness level, get one lower than what you normally get. Trust me :) Overall I would come back when I'm in the area and craving for bubble tea to try other drinks. The only negative is that I wished they had barley as a topping, but overall the topping upcharge is pretty expensive than average. But recommend to give this place a try!

I was craving my usual from Bourbon St. Grill and hit the food court. While heading downstairs after walking through mall entrance 3, I saw this Chicha San Chen store. I flagged it for a visit. After having a satisfying, casual meal at the food court, I returned to the second floor and walked over here to check out the drinks. It was almost as if this store knew that I like fruit and sparkling drinks. I saw a sign that said I could get two sparkling fruit drinks for $10. Three words: Sign me up! I got Kinson at the ordering area. He was great stepping me through everything. I let him know that this promotion interested me. He asked if I wanted one of each fruit flavour. Yes! My order consisted of the following: - Sparkling orange - Sparkling peach Each drink contains fruit, sparkling water, and konjac. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and I was done. He let me know that it wouldn't take long for my drinks to be made. The wait time wasn't much. The seating area had just cleared, so I could take photos of the branded throw pillows, various decorated bear figures holding tea cups in slings, and a wall celebrating a hundred years of tea love. It's my kind of tea joint. I stood next to looseleaf teas in mini containers. I smelled a number of them as I waited. They were so fragrant that I didn't want to leave! I love smelling these teas: - Cassia black - Dong ding oolong - Green - Black - Osmanthus oolong - High mountain pouchong My drinks came in one size. It seemed to be the case for all drinks on the menu. I like that you can customize your drink. There's a menu that steps you through it, from the type of tea that you want brewed, to the flavours and toppings that you want in it. If you find this method to be too complicated, it does have popular teas that are already configured, so you don't have to. I liked that I didn't have to fuss with my order. It was exactly what I wanted. My receipt had a number on it. Their system has an automated voice that calls out your order number. it was a nice change of pace. I could clearly hear my order number called out. I'm sure staff were happy to save their vocal cords, too. My drinks were on the counter. You can help yourself to a tray, which I did. My drinks looked good. What I should have done was sipped both before walking to my car. This place was so generous with the pour that my drinks were topped to the brim. One of my drinks did spill out a bit as I was about to go through the doors. Oops. I stopped to sip both of them. I was good! I got to my car and safely put my drinks down in my caddy. Just from sipping them, I loved the flavours so much. The orange one had slices of orange and chewy konjac. It was slightly sweet and fizzy. It was cheerful to drink. I had the orange slices, minus the peel, of course. Yum! The peach drink was equally as awesome. It was bubbly, with generous chunks of peach and konjac. It was fruity and chewy. So good! Both were so refreshing on a hot July evening. I'm glad that I got two drinks. I enjoyed my first two drinks from this tea place. I'll be back for more! (301)

I thought that I'd check out the businesses and remembered Machi Machi. You can also park in the plaza. Machi Machi is across from Panera Bread. There's lot of parking. It was the last bubble tea store in downtown Markham that I had yet to visit. It was time. The store has a couple of steps to get to the door that faces Birchmount Avenue. It also has a ramp. I took the steps going in. There is no hand rail. I left using the ramp, which seemed spacious enough for a wheelchair. I entered the store. There were two folks ahead of me at the kiosk to place orders. No one was behind the counter taking orders, so your kiosk is your best bet. There was a group of four folks waiting for their orders next to us. I also saw seating off to the right and left. They are limited. You get three seats on either side of the order area. I was order number 29 with these items: - Fizzy plum green tea (fixed sugar and ice) - Coconut lime strawberry smoothie (light sugar and fixed ice) Both were regular in size. There are few drinks that are large. Customizations aren't as flexible as other bubble tea places. They are my reasons why this place doesn't get a five-star review. It was such a nice day outside that due to demand for cold drinks here, it took long to get my drinks. The woman in front of me decided to go outside. It was weird to me. If I had a drink waiting for me and I'm a party of one, I'd be inside the store, waiting for my number to be called. Sure enough, order number 28 was called. I said that I was number 29 when the woman looked at me. I was standing by the glass window. It's all glass, which was nice seeing the sunshine come in, but it also heated up the place. I lightly tapped on the glass. Number 28 heard me. I pointed to her to come inside. She did. This woman was extremely introverted. She got to the counter and didn't say a thing. I went around and got the attention of a nice female staffer. I said that 28 was here. She nodded and got 28's drink. 28 was happy. Both thanked me. It was my good deed of the day. I drank it as I drove to fetch some takeout before heading home. I had the coconut lime strawberry smoothie after dinner. It tasted tropical and delicious. The flavours were so good. Excellent! If you like strong tea, you want to come here. The milk was perfect to balance out the tea. I loved the tea jelly, which added a cool flavour dimension to my tastebuds that I have never experienced. It was awesome and I got a decent amount of it! Less sugar worked out nicely. My drink was a touch sweet. Perfect! I had a great experience. I hope to return to this plaza and get more drinks off the menu. (463)
