Asked to have it done on a specific day so that it could be used the following day....they never called to say that it wasn't gonna be done on time and I show up and it's not done and it needed to be worn the very next day. This morning I woke needed to get my suit dry cleaned for a Gala later tonight. I decided to pay a visit to Foasberg Broadway Cleaners, which I've visited often when I lived closer to this location. Upon my entry into the business, I was greeted by Naomy and Lydia, who were amazing! I was able to get my suit dry cleaned same day along with 3 shirts laundered. I took a blazer to this cleaners to be cleaned last week. Hadn't been here in a while and don't know why I went there....until Thursday. Went to pick it up and it was messed up. There was this gathering on the hem and in the front. No amount of ironing or whatever could may it lay correctly. Instead of taking responsibility, she asked how long did I have the blazer (3 years) and implied bad craftsmanship. Then she said let me try one more thing - well why didn't you do that when you saw the damage? She then suggested taking somewhere that could fix it (alterations) but what made her think I should pay for their mess up? They were polite and such but it doesn't take away from what they did to my blazer which they've cleaned before. Of course they didn't charge me but didn't offer up anything to replace it ($$). They wanted to give it to me but what I am I going to do with it? It was destroyed so trash it. Won't go here again. read more

Foasberg has made me the victim of shiny pants and perma-crinkled suit jackets more frequently than I'd prefer. I thought I was the only one until Jim Bob H. drew my attention to these reviews! Don't get me wrong, I'm probably the extreme opposite of picky about anything (except maybe tacos), but twice I've gone to wear my newly dry-cleaned goods to find out their forever disfigured thanks to whatever strange event occurred behind the one way mirror of Foasberg. I did find the employees to be friendly, efficient and helpful and the parking IS very tempting for a stop on the way to work. But based on my past results, I just can't return to Foasberg no matter what coupons they throw at me. read more

Hello, overpriced. How are you cleaning? I went to Foasberg one day with a couple of things and I thought the staff was rude, unhelpful, and it was overpriced. I don't know if they feel they can charge more because it's a chain, but I think that's ridiculous. Sure, my clothes were clean and pressed.. wow.. doing your job, I just wish it wouldn't have been such a hefty bill. Took the same amount of stuff to the place by Albertson's at 6th and Redondo and they were fabulous. Great staff, reasonably priced, and they did just as good as Foasberg. read more

Many things annoy me I guess, but pretty high on the list is the Bad Dry Cleaner. It has been a while since my ill-fated trip to this Bad Dry Cleaner, I'll admit, but I am still kinda not over it; so sorry but they'll probably end up on the receiving end of somewhat outdated (but still valid!) angst. You need to be able to trust your dry cleaner. I'm bringing you the garments whose care I cannot even execute on my own, the very soul of my personal style, the clothes I care about the most, or to be more blunt... the shit I probably spent the most money on. So just clean it please and don't make me worry about the welfare of my favorite work pants. That's all. I went to Foasberg one time and I learned my lesson. I brought them two angora cardigan sweaters (among other things) that were exactly alike except in two different colors (purple and bright blue). Each had matching fabulous fake pearl buttons down the front. Note that I said "had." When I retrieved my garments, I was stupid enough not to examine them before I paid for the cleaning and then got home to discover that every button from both sweaters was gone. Every. Single. One. I called to complain of course, and no one apologized, offered me a refund or a coupon I could have sneered at and thrown away... they just said I could go buy new buttons myself and then bring them the receipt for reimbursement. I said OK but after I hung up I decided it was way too much of a hassle to quickly locate buttons as cool as the blue and purple pearl ones, guard the receipt and make the extra trip back to the damn cleaners to make some sort of case in an attempt collect my couple of bucks... Foasberg Cleaners! I get my work uniform cleaned here once a week and, my being a procrastinator, I always wait until the last minute to get it done. The great thing about Foasbergs is that they are efficient and they get the work done quickly. The parking is easy because it's right on the corner of Broadway and Redondo. I'm not really sure why people are saying they're overpriced because I feel like they are A LOT cheaper compared to the other dry cleaners I've tried in Long Beach. $3 for my entire uniform to be dry cleaned and military pressed. Lastly, the people-they're super nice! Lastly (for real), my order was due to be done at 5pm today and I went in at 2:30 (because I had to get to work) and it was already done. This place is awful. I have given them multiple opportunities and EVERY time they ruin my stuff. I brought in a white bedspread with tan embroidery. I got it back with stains on it. I took it back and asked why it had stains on it that were not there when I brought it in, and they said the embroidery must have bled and they would try to fix it. Then they lost my comforter for TWO MONTHS! I finally have it back. It still has stains, not as noticeable. I brought in a dress in that's hem was starting to fray. The dress was longer in the back than in the front. I asked them to fix the hem where is was frayed. I came to get my dress and they made it all one length! I can't wear it anymore b/c it doesn't cover my butt. I brought in 3 sets of curtains and asked them to clean them and shorten two sets of curtains to the length of the shortest set. I got them back and they are all different lengths, plus they charged me a fortune And lastly, I just unwrapped a gray fringe dress I had cleaned a while back. The fringe is all uneven now and frayed, and looks bleached. It is many shades of gray now instead of the solid color. If you have something you care about, take it and your business elsewhere. This place is HORRIBLE!!!! read more

I've tried several of the other cleaners nearby. Foasberg is by far the best. They do an impeccable job on our clothes and household goods. I'm picky about my cashmere sweaters and they come back looking brand new every time. Also, they are conscientious about where they attach the cleaner tags on our garments. Trivial, but it makes me sad when cleaners use a plastic price tag machine on one of the lower tags (that you don't find until you've worn the garment all day and are taking it off) instead of using a safety pin carefully placed on the main tag. Most important to us, the customer service at Foasberg is amazing. Barbara is the friendliest, most knowledgeable, most professional lady I've met in ages. She always makes my day a little brighter and for that, I am grateful. read more

I don't require much dry cleaning, as most of my clothes are not that fancy (thank god) and I wear scrubs to work.. So when I do need a certain dress or top dry cleaned, I usually go here. I have had bad luck with other dry cleaners in Long Beach, and Foasberg hasn't failed me, yet.... Yes their prices are expensive and add up if you are someone who needs dry cleaning on a daily or weekly basis, but for me I am an infrequent customer so paying extra isn't that big of a deal. One small dress was $6, my comforter is usually $14, you get the idea. My dry cleaning needs are basic and pretty impossible to screw up. If you have a garment that is bedazzled or blinged out with shiny jewels or beads, maybe avoid this place since they make you sign a waiver that they aren't responsible for ruining it. So take those precious items somewhere you have more trust in. Their parking situation blows, as there are two lanes to drive in/out and it becomes a cluster f**k of a traffic jam, always. read more

I've lived in Belmont Shore area for over 10 years and have been taking my dry cleaning to Foasberg ( Redondo Avenue and Broadway) for almost the same amount of time. They run a very convenient, straight forward business there and are always super friendly and efficient! In all honesty the main reason I continue to use them is because of the service I receive from Barbara! She has been with them since I've been going there and she is always quick, efficient, nice and friendly! I love walking in and being greeted with a super friendly "hello Robert" from her! Ugh!!! $39 dollars for 3.5 inch alterations on a shirt that cost $40!!!! My fault for not asking prices beforehand!!! The alterations were to shorten both sleeves and the hem at the bottom of the shirt. Then I check the shirt, and there's excess string everywhere. Whatever, my fault again for not asking for the price before hand, but at least take the time to cut those extra strings off! Super unhappy about the price and attention to detail. read more

Very poor customer service. Took 2 shirts for dry cleaning. Paid 5.30$ Picked them up had a stain in one of the shirts that was brand new. Dropped off two more shirts and was charged over 11$. I have so much respect for Barbara. I came in the other night right before closing to get an old dress cleaned for an event. I needed it done ASAP, and felt so bad about coming in so late. Then the guy told me taht every customer has to pay an "environmental fee" for their chemicals. Huh? He said that i's per ticket, so it averages out to less if I bring in a bunch of clothes at once. What nerve. What next, the 50 cents per customer fee for Foasberg using electricity and telephones? Don't forget the $1 per order for "supplying a toilet for employees fee", and the dime per customer for the "City requires Foasberg to have a business license fine". Being a 20 year customer and a CPA I thought it important to write this review as a form of satisfaction and suggestion. As to employees - Barb is and has always been the greatest. I have to say she has been the main reason I remain a customer of Foasberg. There are many dry cleaning stores....even on my drive to Foasberg there are many options but I know how pleasant it is going to Barb. You might think this is silly but it is a fact. Barb is always friendly Barb is very efficient at her job Bar helps me (I have a bad back) get the cleaning in my car Barb makes you laugh Barb has pointed out the great improvements new ownership has made. Hands down Barb is someone that any employer is lucky to have! Ownership - the new ownership has made some great changes, one of which is the fluff and fold plastic zip bags that really bring value to the service. Suggestion - Ditch the Foasberg name and move on to the new (true) owners. Change the signage and the old fashioned blue awnings and modernize stuff. Foasberg was a great cleaners but the administrative work was sloppy and your clothing and you as a customer were treated like cattle. This place is really really expensive. They do a decent dry cleaning job, but you can get better at less expensive places that are close by. I DO NOT recomend getting alterations done here. That lady has butchered my clothes on several occasions. This is why I no longer go there. She SUCKS at doing original hems on denim. I needed to have some pant legs hemmed up. I phoned Foasberg to find out what they charge. The lady on the phone said they charge $9.50 per pant. I had 4 pair. I am a shut-in, so I asked my friend to take one pair to Foasberg to have it hemmed to see if I had measured my inseam correctly. My friend dropped off the pants at Foasberg. When he picked them up, Foasberg charged him $13.00. I would recommend others learn from my mistake by using a dry cleaner that does not engage in such practices. P.S. Afterward, my friend took the other 3 pairs to Speedies Cleaners on 4th Street. He was charged $7.00 per pant - the same price Speedies quoted me over the phone. read more

I took 3 pairs of pants in to be hemmed. I was told it would be about $22 a pair. When I came to pick them up the total was $144. No one told me or updated me on the price, had I known I wouldn't of done the alteration. Was very upset with the lack of transparency and communication. This place just lost my business. On Saturday I dropped off 2 duvet covers and 1 blanket to be WASHED, not dry cleaned. The guy made me sign something basically saying they aren't liable if something goes wrong blah blah blah and explained the washing process. I just went to pick up my stuff and the total was $62. Yes $62. I asked why the wash was so expensive and I was told they don't wash these things they dry clean them. I then informed then I didn't ask to have the stuff dry cleaned I asked to have them washed and they just shrugged and didn't know what to say. I'm pissed to say the least. Things were fine with just the normal dress pants, yes a little pricy. My issue was that I always bring my own bag to out the clothes in to save the plastic and be environmentally friendly. Every employee acted as if this was odd. Half the time I would pick up my stuff and it would be inside my bag which was then I side plastic. THIS MAKES NO SENSE. This place is a complete rip off $43 to clean a queen size duvet and $27 to press only a queen size duvet will never go there again when I questioned the I noticed that they had charged me for king size duvet the cashier took $1 off the price.
