Finally, a boba shop that actually has the avocado smoothie in stock! Most places sell out because it's so popular, but Foam came through--and with real avocado too. Their avocado smoothie was incredibly fresh, creamy, and not overly sweet. The boba was perfectly chewy and tasted super fresh, making it even better. Definitely coming back for more!
I've been to this place a handful of times. They close early, so it's hard for me to visit regularly. Many times it after I eat pho next door and I'm too late. It's been unusually warm and I was able to stop by for early afternoon refreshment. I was surprised to see that they offer sugar cane juice--perfect drink for a hot Indian summer day. I ordered the passionfruit sugarcane juice and it was very refreshing, naturally sweet--no added sugars. It's a small shop with limited seating, but it's nice that they offer seating. The person behind the counter was super friendly. You can order on the kiosk, if paying by card or at the counter if by cash. They are also located up the block from Sarang Hello and across the street from the post office. If want refreshments/snacks after errands, it's a great place to take a break. Looking forward to my next visit.
I love Foam. Their drinks are some of the best drinks you'll have! I had the mixed fruit drink and the other drinks, and you can never go wrong with any of them! Their food, is tasty, especially the onion rings, French fries, popcorn chicken and the spring rolls. It's great for a quick snack or a filling lunch! The service is always good and the folks working there are always willing to answer your questions and helpful. Small little spot so grab your food and drinks to go or stay for a quick meal. Craving popcorn chicken and there aren't too many places we know that make them nowadays in our neighborhood. After a quick search, hubs suggested trying Foam Tea House. Small place, but there were a couple of tables and seating along the window. We ordered at the kiosk - roasted oolong milk tea w/ grass jelly, Thai tea, popcorn chicken and fries. Drinks came out quickly. I ordered the roasted oolong with 30% sugar and less ice. I tend to like my teas strong, and this was a little weak for me. Hubs ordered the Thai tea, which was good. Faves were the snacks as they were made to order and came out hot and crispy. Popcorn chicken was crispy and perfect amount of saltiness. Fries were also hot, and I enjoyed them with the Sriracha ketchup. Hubs and I agreed that we'd each order our own fries and popcorn chicken next time. Would love if they offered a combo deal.
Came here after grabbing lunch at Dumpling Time up to block. Upon entering, I walked up to the kiosk TouchPad and ordered their Mango Slush with Sago and Panda Milk Tea. Relatively easy and paid with card. It was pretty quiet but normal, considering it was a weekday. Drinks came out fast and loaded with a generous amount of toppings. There's limited seating inside, a bit worn. Interior is decorated with custom art and has a nostalgic charm. Staff was pleasant, and we were out the door within minutes.
One of my besties and I were in the mood for our boba fix this past weekend. Since both of us prefer dairy alternatives, thankfully Foam offers their milk teas with Almond Milk. Both of us ordered a Matcha Milk Tea with boba in Almond Milk. Our orders were ready within 2 minutes. They give generous portions of matcha that it covered at least half of our drink. The matcha flavor was not too overpowering and it blended well with the almond milk tea's sweetness. The boba was perfectly chewy, sweet and not tough. The ambiance was impressive because of their printed cup event dedicated to Jihyo's solo release. As a Once (Twice stan), I was truly fond of the posters and the provided cups and photocards. Foam frequently collaborates with Saranghello for any cupsleeve or printed cup events. Moving forward, Foam is now my go-to boba shop along Taraval Street in San Francisco's Sunset district!

We had the lemon kumquat green tea with basil seed, refreshing!!!! For this excessive heat wave. Wanted to order some snacks since it looks like they had many options but was too full :( next time! Oh and the seal on the cup was super cute! Couldn't help it! Haha
Did you know you can get your image on the foam tea here? That's the best thing about this place. Average drinks with slow service, even when empty. I'm not sure why they always get my order wrong. Oolong tea with salty cheese foam. Does it seem that hard, does it? Their fruit tea is lackluster, and even without sugar, I think it's presweetened because it's quite sugary. Still 3 stars average.
They have a new and spacious location across the street! We visited their soft opening today, it's amazing! The owner made me a special drink with coconut water and matcha, it's so refreshing and it keeps the calories low I don't know the name of the drink but will definitely go back for that again! Same great service as usual, with more seatings. Can't wait to see what they will offer at the new location!

Their menu has a ton of options to choose from, including plenty of brewed tea, which I typically go for. They also have a lot of food options, which I was tempted to order, but I had to save room for dinner, so I didn't get any food. However, all of their options look really good, so I'd like to try them next time. The drink was great. I added aloe vera as a topping and it was awesome. The only downside to this place is that it is quite pricey. I believe the drink was $7-8 which is quite expensive in my opinion. The size of the cup isn't that big either, so I think for the amount you're getting, it is a bit overpriced. The ordering process is also on a kiosk, so I can't really judge customer service on this one. However, I would consider going back if I'm around the area because the drink was good.

Been here several times & while in the area decided to ask if they are offering a K-pop collab. The person answering the phone didn't have any customer service etiquette, she didn't greet me in a way that made me feel like a customer. I felt more like a nuisance asking her if they are doing a collab. Calling over the phone really left a bad impression that I feel was unwarranted. read more

I've been coming to Foam Tea House for OVER a year now, and I absolutely LOVE: - Their kind service - Quick order turnaround times - Mobile ordering + in-store kiosk options - Variety of flavors - Snack options If you're looking for a recommendation, I recommend the following: - Handmade Taro Slush - Mango Slush - Caribbean Colada Slush - Takoyaki - French Fries (add the spice seasoning on this one!) - Popcorn Chicken - Musubi Hands down a comfortable place to eat and vibe. I love the owners; they're so sweet! They'll also have some k-pop themed or TCG events as well. Street parking only, but pretty easy to find a spot on the weekdays. read more

The drinks and popcorn chicken are so so delicious. I had the peach yakult slushie and it was so sweet and delicious. The sugar cane juice is 100% natural and delicious. It's a laid back casual place to chill at while you eat you food. The barista who made our drinks was quick and kind. read more

Came in around 7pm on a Friday night and it wasn't busy. The place is pretty small with a few seats. The walls are cutely decorated with boba inspired artwork. You order and pay on a large standing screen. There is a small service fee. Parking is pretty easy as well. There are many drink options there as well as a good variety of small snacks (rice rolls, popcorn chicken, etc.). I ordered the original milk tea (80% sweet, no boba) as well as the cantaloupe sago drink (50% sweet). I loved the sago drink! It reminds me of Hong Kong dessert cafes and wasn't too sweet. Milk tea is pretty standard, and I was charged extra for getting no ice. The flavor is fairly milky. The man making the drinks was very nice, and the drinks came out very quickly. Overall, spent about $13 on two drinks, which is pretty normal these days. Didn't try the boba, but overall, good place for a quick Asian drink fix. read more
Tiny little hole in the wall with great drinks. Never been here before. You order off the screen and the drinks come out quickly. Staff helped us find the perfect drink. They have this awesome option where you can send a selfie and it's printed on your foam on your tea. Definitely will check this out next time we go! read more
I usually expect a boba shop to smell of brown sugar and tapioca, but this one actually had more aromas of food - things like fish balls and fries. Not necessarily a bad thing, but not as sweet as I'm used to. The girls at the counter were friendly and helpful with clarifying drinks. They mentioned that the mango green tea is one of their popular items so I ordered that for bae - tea was strong, but lacked in mango flavor. I asked if the Oreo frap was essentially an Oreo milkshake and they said yes. I didn't think you could go wrong with that, but I guess there's a first for everything. If you took a handful of Oreo cookies and blended them with ice only, you'd get the Oreo frappucino from Foam. Just crushed up ice with cookie bits. I couldn't tell you if there was milk or anything else, but it was horrendous and a mistake that I wish I could take back. I stopped after 2 sips and brought it home so that I could pour in some milk and salvage whatever was left. UPDATE: On second thought, there might be some teensy bit of milk in the drink because bae won't stop farting... read more

I want for an event that was hosted at this location we were really excited for the experience and the drinks! We all ordered a tiger milk tea, the place looked amazing but very small for the amount of people that attended this event. once we got our drinks it looked yummy, not shortly after we started drinking it we noticed how all of our drinks tasted different despite being the same drink we kinda brushed it off but later on felt very sick. I'm not sure if it was because they were rushing because of the event or what but that caused us to get poorly made drinks and to get sick, even a day after the event we still feel sick. Note: tapioca pearls had odd texture as if it was sitting out a day or night prior to the event. After mixing our drinks it wasn't sweet more bitter despite being 100% sweet and after taking a sip of it I got a huge chunk of hardened sugar//syrup. Hope this issue gets fixed or other peoples experiences were better but sadly mine and my friends wasn't the best. read more

Really disappointed and I don't think I'll be returning, which is a shame since there's a k-pop store conveniently across the street. I got a Passionfruit Sugarcane juice for my friend and a Mango Slush sago for myself. I can't wait to try the delicious looking drinks! And they have food too! This is the perfect little nook to study and relax. There is an upstairs as well! The cashier and barista also asked if I needed a bag! Such a doll! I can't wait to try more items! read more

The overall aesthetic this place is really cute! We ordered one Hong Kong style Milk Tea, Brown Sugar, and Roasted Oolong. The Hong Kong Milk Tea is still on the bitter side even though we ordered 50% sweetness. It's overall really good though! The Brown Sugar Milk Tea was pretty good. The Oolong was also pretty good! The only issue was the boba being a bit harder but it's totally OK! It was also really cute how they used black cups instead of the see through ones though it was tougher to differentiate. read more
This is a pretty good place to grab a boba drink in San Francisco. There are plenty of places to get Boba in the city. I would say this is a good choice and can't go wrong going to get some foam tea. The Tiger milk was okay. I give this place another try. read more

I came to Foam Tea House because the sago/coconut milk drinks looked amazing. Foam is one of the places that has this so it definitely is a place to try so I ordered the cantaloupe sago and also a taro milk tea. The cantaloupe sago looked nice - you have the bottom part consisting of coconut milk and sago and the top part containing cantaloupe fruit and slush. Overall the drink itself was watery. There wasn't much flavor and the cantaloupe was not ripe at all. The taro milk tea uses powder and I've come across places that use real taro. The owner (?) was very adamant that taro milk tea always uses powder so that was kind of off-putting to be scolded at. The taro milk teal from Foam was okay BUT it was watery. Tapioca Express does it better than Foam for this drink. Overall, the drinks were watery and not worth coming for. read more
Open during the shelter in place. You order at the door and wait outside while practicing social distancing. I got the mango sago slush. Only one size. It was perfect for a warm and sunny afternoon. Only bad thing is that I offered it to my son for a taste and he wouldn't give it back. I do want to go back and try some of their milk teas and see how they stack up to the other milk tea places in the city however, the mango sago slush is a must have on a nice SF day!! read more
First, thank you for being open with COVID-19 precautions! Okay, now onto the review. I ordered the Jasmine Milk Tea with Creama and boba. Definitely tasted the "jasmine" flavor but I didn't taste jasmine "tea." Boba was slightly sweet, soft and chewy. Creama was creamy but not very savory. I may not drive out of the way to get this same drink again but if I am in the area, I'm down to try some of their other drinks. read more

Will you use a reusable cup like a mason jar if I bring one?
Yes, we encourage our customers to bring in with clean reusable cup and many of our regular customers actually did!
Do you serve hot drinks with the printed "foam" on top?
Sorry, we don’t serve printed hot drinks. We have experimented with it before and the heat would just melt the printed foam.
Do they have soy or almond milk options?
Great idea! We will definitely work on soy and almond milk formula on new product. Coming soon!
