I love stopping by here before/after a grocery run. There's so many drink options to choose from. Service is quick and friendly. I can't wait to try more of their drinks!

We really enjoyed their cheese foam for both its texture and flavor. Their drinks themselves are not too sweet and the people were so nice. We got the Hong Kong style milk tea at low sweetness and the matcha with foam also low sweetness. Both with boba. The Hong Kong style milk was over brewed and astringent but the matcha was good and earthy. I would say that their boba was a bit too overcooked. The flavor itself was great and had the right amount of sweetness which complimented getting the drink at a lower sweetness but had a bit too soft texture for our liking. Yes, boba is meant to be chewy and soft but also have a good bounce to it. We came at the time for the buy one get one 50% off (counter only) and the bill was still $16. Edit: Thank you to the owner for responding. In person, both my partner and I were told $16 by the cashier for these two drinks but it may have been a slip of the tongue. Checking the price has cleared the credit card, I can confirm $12 was charged. I have added additional details of improvements. All in all: The place was cute and cozy. The customer service members were very friendly and welcoming. For the experience this time, the boba too soft. I am interested in trying their assam black tea next time if in the area and have a deal going on.

All-time fave boba spot in all of San Francisco. Great tea flavour, still-warm and perfectly qq "locally-made boba," and 100% would pick this spot if I had to only choose one boba shop in all of San Francisco. I remember wayyy back pre-COVID when there used to be seating inside and a restroom in the back, now it's essentially a long bar for grab-and-go beverages. They also used to have student discounts. Ah, those were the days. Now, order at a kiosk or at the register and wait no more than 5-10 mins for your drink. Great, because you're probably illegally parked on Noriega. Brutal street parking options out there. Get a passion fruit green tea, 50% sweet, with locally made boba and thank me later. TJ Cups, sponsor me please?

Wish this place was closer to home! Love genmaicha and was sooo excited to try the genmaicha milk tea here. You could taste the tea flavor and the roasted rice flavor. Boba is also super chewy. I think they have limited batches of their drinks because when we got there around 4:30, they only had enough for 1 last genmaicha order. Will be back!

I ordered a strawberry Oreo crunch milk snow with honey aloe and a rose milk tea with boba--both were amazing! The service was friendly and quick, and the cashier was incredibly patient while we decided, answering all our questions. I love that the drinks are made fresh on the spot! The venue is super clean, with a self-order kiosk and a cozy standing area. The ambiance is simple and refreshing.

Man it's been a long time since I went to TJ's cups. The last time I went to this place was back in 2017 or 2018 those years I use to get the Oreo Crunch Milk Snow. I get points here a lot back then. Till now I miss going here a lot. For my birthday rewards hanging out with my friends. My favorites drinks here is the signature Milk Tea & The Oreo crunch milk snow. Those are my top 2 drinks I like at TJ's Cup Boba Place

You will not get disappointed with the various options and unique flavors TJ Cups specialize in. Their Taiwanese drinks and Hong Kong Style Milk Teas are consistently good. I adore their Mango Freeze Slush in Coconut Milk. Like a mango slushy with sago balls in silky coconut milk. Besides tea drinks, their slush and smoothies are freshly made with fresh fruits. The drinks are just dash of sweetness since they use cane sugar. Try their Real Avocado Honey Smoothie, Hokkaido Milk Tea, the Uji Matcha Crema as well as their Strawberry Crema is good! Anything you try does not disappoint! 4 stars!

TJ Signature Milk Tea/Taiwanese Style Milk Tea (Assam Black Tea w/Non-Dairy Creamer, 24oz/$5.49)- 4.5/5 stars

4.5 stars but rounding up for a great version of signature milk tea! I'm perpetually on a boba quest, and had to stop by and check out TJ Cups when I was in the area recently. They don't have many decaf options for their non slush/smoothie drinks, and only the taro fresh milk and brown sugar milk do not have caffeine. However, it's only an additional $0.50 to substitute soy, almond, or oat milk, which is a great price. I called in my order ahead of time to avoid a wait, and it was less than a 10 minute wait at 1:45pm on a Thursday. You can also place your order online, and it seems like the pricing is the same as in store. It wasn't busy when I arrived, and my order was ready. I tried their TJ Signature Milk Tea/Taiwanese Style Milk Tea (Assam Black Tea w/Non-Dairy Creamer, $5.49, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=CAIptiaXari5XWy7dvhzjQ&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg), which was creamy, smooth, and had great tea flavor. Their boba was chewy but had good texture, and had a nice flavor to it- highly recommended! I got 25% sweet and it was perfect for me (I usually order this sweetness level at other boba spots). They only had a 24oz cup for their drinks, and you get a LOT of tea for the price- such a great value, especially during these inflation times. My friends tried their taro fresh milk and loved it more than at other popular boba spots. I will be back when in the area to try their fruit teas, creama series, and Hong Kong style milk tea. Staff were still wearing masks despite the mandate being lifted. I don't believe indoor seating was available, and they did not have outdoor seating. Parking can be difficult to find in this area, but some street parking spots were available.

    Matcha Milk Snow No.4

There are so many boba shops that sometimes it feels hard to differentiate one from the other. If I had to figure out where TJ Cups fit into the boba space, I would say it's in their slushes and smoothies. They have the usual milk tea staples (HK milk tea, thai tea, etc.) but their most appetizing drinks are definitely their slush/smoothies. Got the Matcha Milk Snow. Ingredients are boba, matcha, ice cream, and adzuki. Sounds perfect. It was $8.99 so the price is definitely higher than a regular milk tea. Super delicious. I got original sweetness and it wasn't that sweet which was nice. Definitely great as a dessert after a meal (and there's plenty of restaurants in the area)!

These drinks are WONDERFUL. I've tried so many boba places since moving to SF in April and I always find myself coming back to TJ Cups. They have an extensive menu of unique drinks and all of the ingredients complement each other well. I love their real taro smoothie with soy milk. I think there's only 1 size for all the slushy/smoothies so make sure you come with a semi-hungry stomach cause the drinks are filling. I couldn't finish the drink in one go. I had to pause after drinking half cup and then finish the rest later... which was still delicious. The boba has the right chewiness and consistency. The owner is so nice and welcoming. I came back to try the avocado honey smoothie but they told me the avocados were not ripe yet so they couldn't make it that day. I like their honesty and how they stand by the quality of their drinks. Make sure you sign up with your phone number to get the stamps. It's 1 stamp per drink. Make sure you double check that! Last time I ordered 3 drinks and only received 1 stamp. Luckily the owner was nice and asked for proof so she could contact the IT guy to fix it for me. Hopefully I'll see the updates next time I return :)

He low-key had a crush on one of the employees, so naturally he started bringing the entire friend group here. Looking back, it was basically a long-term marketing campaign disguised as friendship. Every visit felt less like getting drinks and more like him trying to impress his girl. XD The owner has probably seen the whole saga unfold from beginning to end and is still here doing what they've always done - running a great local business. That's honestly something I respect. Businesses come and go, trends come and go, friendships come and go, but some places just keep showing up every day and serving their community. To this day, I still stop by for their watermelon juice. Sure, I could make it at home for less money, but sometimes that's not the point. Basic economics: support local businesses that provide value. They earn a living, customers get products they enjoy, employees keep their jobs, and the community benefits. Everyone wins. The watermelon juice is refreshing, the memories are hilarious, and it's always nice supporting a local establishment that's been around long enough to witness entire character-development arcs. Highly recommend with my utmost respectful regards.

I walked about 30 minutes and arrived too early as the store did not open until noon. I walked out to Geary Blvd. and there was a lot of construction as I explored the area. I returned with only 14 minutes left before opening. The lady opening the store was raising the blinds on the windows facing the street. She unlocked the door shortly after noon and directed me to the kiosk to order. I knew I wanted the peach oolong milk tea at 75% sweet with no ice. It had been quite windy on the walk. Because of a coconut allergy in the family I had to ask if the popular mango pomelo sago had any coconut. Unfortunately, it has coconut (milk or oil?). As soon as I heard coconut, it was a no go. I wasn't familiar with pomelo and the lady told me it was like grapefruit. I still wanted to order a mango drink and went instead with the mango smoothie also 75% sweet with less ice. The customer following me asked about alternative milks which they do have. I overheard that they have oat and almond milk. Both drinks were excellent. The milk tea was not too sweet and I appreciated the peach bits in the drink. The mango smoothie was really creamy.

I came in at 3:00 PM today (Saturday). There was only one other customer in the shop ordering a crepe and no visible to-go orders. I ordered a single fruit tea, expecting it to be a quick stop. After waiting over 20 minutes, I finally approached the counter to check on it, only to find the staff had completely forgotten the order. While they apologized and asked me to wait another 5 minutes to make the drink, the delay was entirely avoidable given how quiet the shop was. Beyond the wait, there were some noticeable operational and professional issues: - Staff Dynamics: There were two employees working. The male staff member spent most of the time in the back and occasionally popping out to direct the female staff member to make crepes and handle tasks before retreating to the kitchen area. I had to explicitly prompt him about my missing order before he stepped in to make the drink. - Workplace Professionalism: When checking on the delay, I noticed opened containers of alcohol in the kitchen area. An occasional forgotten order happens, but the combination of a 20-minute wait in an empty shop and a lack of professionalism behind the counter was highly frustrating. I hope management takes this feedback as an opportunity to review their staffing practices and service standards.
